I have used Get Your Move On twice now with great results. The only mishap was with miscommunication on the date. I called to reschedule the day to Saturday from Friday(due to closing of new home being moved) however that didn't get relayed to the crew who showed up Friday morning. I felt for them as it is a wasted day but Roger(owner) was great about it and on Saturday morning the crew showed up again and moved the family and I. As always, they treated our goods with respect and care. A++ job all the way around and will refer them to family and friends as long as they are still serving the valley's moving needs.

Get Your Move On LLC was very courteous. They were very nice. They were able to load everything and get it to a new place in just a couple of hours which I was truly surprised. The only negative thing I could say is I had passed one box extremely well that is full of my most precious fragile things and that box in only that box.
Description of Work: Get Your Move On LLC moved all my stuff from my apartment to my new house and they loaded it in a couple of boxes too.

We bought the Angie's list coupon. ($111 for $200 worth) It did not mention all additional costs. (We were charged for shrinkwrap.) You really need to call and get the pricing before. I find most deal's on Angie's List are not good deals even though they seem like it. The additional fee for travel was excessive. ($125.00) The mover said it would be less than $100 additional and 30 minutes to move things in. It was over an hour and cost $150 more. They dinged a wall at my parents house and my mom pointed it out. They did not repair it. One guy spent at least 20 minutes in the bathroom and the other one waited. We were charged for that time too. This was such a small move, we just felt it was expensive. Even though the men were very nice and courteous we would not use this company again.

The entire experience was great. Roger stopped by and gave us an estimate and suggested a 4 team crew. Setting up the time, getting the estimate, and accepting the estimate (online) was a very easy process. The team showed up right on time on the day of the move. The leader introduced the team to me and then we went around the house and discussed what we needed to move and what would be staying. The team went to work and wrapped every item in moving blankets and then in plastic (saran wrap like). The team worked quickly but took care to not bump into walls and to not damage any furniture. It was wrapped so well that I think it would have been hard to damage, but they were still extremely careful. They followed us to our new house and we walked through each room and instructed them on what to move where. We had a few items we couldn't decide on and the team helped us move them multiple times, one team member had some great ideas on placement so we started to ask his advice on what should go where and if it looked good where we placed it. The entire team was extremely friendly, considerate, and patient. They generally enjoyed their work and took pride great pride in doing a good job. I never write reviews, good or bad, but was so impressed that I decided I should write a review.

They arrived on time. Were very courteous. Took several hours longer than expected.
Description of Work: Moved boxes and large furniture to house not far away. Estimate given was way off, took several more hours than anticipated. Actual cost was 600 more than estimate. The one thing they broke, they took to get fixed, but only brought it back after I called asking where it was 5 weeks later, on the upside, it was repaired perfectly.

We moved from S. Gilbert to N. Mesa. This company was wonderful. We have moved 17 times and know experts and this company were experts at moving. From the VP (Roger Greene) to the movers (Robert, Jacob and Jim) it was a wonderful experience as a move can be. I HIGHLY recommend this company. You will not be disappointed!
Description of Work: First of all, Roger (VP) came to our house (something the 4 other companies did not) and gave us an estimate (the actual was less). Roger also deftly dealt with my OCD personality with a calm and gentle spirit. I was grateful. The packers/movers were wonderful. They packed our china cabinet and kitchen and did a very professional job. The move was wonderful. Their procedure of wrapping and shrink wrapping furniture was unlike any of our 17 business moves. These movers were professional and very, very accommodating. My wife and I were so grateful for their efforts. Our move anxiety was completely ameliorated.

hours and fifteen minutes. They took the load to their storage facility in Tempe, which I had gone to see before the move. On 4/21, a Sunday and the scheduled move in date, the crew called when they were on their way and showed up early. Two of the crew members were different, one was the same. They moved very quickly and had me all moved in in two hours flat. There was no damage of any kind. During the move in, the crew chief told me that a box had fallen from the truck. He identified the box and asked me to check to see if anything had been damaged. I really appreciated this. There was no damage. This crew, like the first one, were all really good guys. I would use this company again in a minute and I don't know why anyone in the greater Phoenix area would choose any other mover. I did all the homework and used the company and they exceeded expectations. Hire them if you need a mover.
Description of Work: I needed a mover to move me out of a house I was selling, into storage for a period and into a new place several weeks later. I got three estimates Roger, from Get Your Move On was the most knowledgeable. His estimate was right where the others were (though the actual price came in lower than the estimate). The move out crew (3/30/13) was exactly on time and called when they were on the way. In addition, during the week before I received two confirming email. They were the only company who came out and gave us a verbal quote so we went with them. Roger gave us an accurate quote and the team of 3 who did the move were great. All furniture, including a baby grand piano, was wrapped with care. They were friendly, funny and organized. We definitely recommend them.

Moving from one house to another. I took some small stuff in a U-Haul trailer separately and then left the rest to Get Your Move On. They arrived on time and were the same 2 guys who were noted by name in the reservation. They worked their butts off for 4 hours and got everything moved with no damage. It took a little longer then I had estimated but they never took a break and never dawdled. They fit everything in their truck and packed it all very carefully, wrapping even furniture that isn't of much value. Polite the whole time. Completely happy and I'll use them again if needed.

It went very well. With only a weeks notice they were able to schedule my move. They came out, provided an estimate. On packing day 5 men arrived on time, they introduced themselves, all really polite, and there was a team leader. They brought all the packing supplies. They packed the entire 3300 sq ft home, which included the inventory for my home based business...and even including the food in the refrigerator. They were organized, worked hard, and asked questions as needed. They labeled all the boxes - room and contents..This made it alot easier when unloading and unpacking at the new place. I felt that my belongings were in good hands and everything was very well packed. On move day the same crew showed up on time and ready to move. They worked very hard..disconnecting electronics, disassembling beds, and they were careful to ask what needed to be moved from the yard..Once everything was loaded onto the trucks and we got to the new house, they were careful about placing the boxes in the right places and putting the furniture where I wanted it. They were on time arriving, really friendly and professional.. It took longer than the estimate and therefore cost more than the estimate but I would highly recommend them..everything was extremely well packed and made it safely.

I contacted "Get Your Move On" specifically based on their great reviews on Angie's List. I then actually engaed them based on my meeting with Roger about a month prior to my move date. He came out to provide me with an estimate, and completely put my mind at ease that the moving team would do whatever was necessary to make the move easy for me. He assured me that whatever state of readiness I was in for the move, they would handle it. His estimate was clear and reasonable. The team arrived on time on my move date, and all introduced themselves to me. They were friendly, polite, and extremely efficient. The move was completely accomplished in less than the estimated time, with everything neatly and thoughtfully organized in my new residence before noon! They even priovided me with wardrobes to move my closet contents free of charge. I would use this company again in a heartbeat, and have already recommended them to friends for their future needs. Great job, great value.

They arrived on time and got right to work quickly. They disassembled and moved two queen bedroom sets, the large type with the side dresser towers with bridge over the center mirrors with skill and precision. They met us at the new location within 10 mins of our arrival and got right back to work re-assembling everything. I am very pleased with their work!

I chose Get Your Move On primarily because of the good reviews I read on Angie's List. They came to our condo and gave me a quote, but because I had time to pack a lot of the boxes myself, they came in $300 less than their quote! This is due in large part because the three men who arrived were not only hard working, but very experienced movers. The furniture was all wrapped, taken down a very narrow staircase, and arrived at it's destination without a mark. I will be using them again next month when our POD arrives from out-of-state for the second half of our move.
Description of Work: They moved our furniture, wardrobes, and boxes from our 2nd floor condominium into our patio home just down the street.

We chose this company for my grandparents move from a house to assisted living. They arrived on time and when they realized that the job was bigger then they thought were able to get two more men to come same day. I have a couple of antiques that I needed to have moved a few blocks. When I called him, he advised me that he didn’t do any work for anything less than $305. There was no indication that there is any minimum amount of time or payment within the fine print. He also said he wanted mileage for the trip as well. I have decided not to go through with it at this time.

Roger came to my house to provide me with an estimate, which I felt was more than reasonable. Due to the move spanning two days, Get Your Move On allowed my belongings to be stored on the truck overnight. They charged me on a per day basis for the move which worked out well. The truck did not fit all my belongings as I had a lot of potted plants outdoors so they sent a second truck and I was not charged for that. I was offered the option for a third crew member on the second day to help speed up the unloading, which I opted for at a very reasonable cost. Crew was friendly yet very professional. A couple of dings on appliances, but otherwise went very well. I would use them again.

Update: I meant to update this sooner but I have been having internet issues. Anyway I was able to work with Derek to find a solution to the problem. The move itself was great. The customer service after the move needed to be improved, and Derek took care of that. The original review is below but I have changed the grades to more A's as I believe that Derek is willing to stand behind his business and values good customer service, and that if I move with them again I won't have the same problems. *** The men who moved my stuff called about half an hour before they were scheduled to arrive to let me know they would be a few minutes late. They were still about five or ten minutes early. They get high ratings on punctuality. I had packed up most of my stuff in boxes, some things in bags. The movers worked hard, wrapped everything, etc. I tipped a full 20%, the move was $610 and I tipped $40 each, $120 total, which was a fair tip as they worked hard. A year prior I had a good experience with Camelback Movers, who moved my one bedroom on the first floor into the two bedroom on the third floor, charged about two thirds as much and did it in much less time and with two guys instead of three. I had very little new furniture since my previous move and while I was overall okay with the move itself on moving day, I don't think it was that much better than my previous move, and that is why I rate it low on price. Why pay $600 + tip (part of that, but not much, was a fee for using a credit card) when I can have it done faster and better for $400 + tip? I was reasonably satisfied with the work overall, it was fine, definitely better than moving myself and trying to get my friends to help me, again overpriced. After they left I noticed small things, like minor damage on the furniture, boxes in rooms that were labeled to go in other rooms. This is why I feel that the actual level of service was "B" level, because for $600 I would have expected less damage and all the boxes in the correct spots. The move was ok but not $600 ok. My work phone was missing, it was packed in my work bag, which they moved. I unpacked everything and didn't locate the work phone. I figured perhaps it fell out. I called the company, let them know I was missing a phone. The receptionist checked somewhere (lost and found?) and said they didn't have it. I let her know that I understood these things can take time, that perhaps it was still on the truck or perhaps she would want to check with the movers themselves, as such I didn't expect a response at that moment and urged her to look into it, and left my name and number. It had taken a little while to figure out that I didn't have it as I was sick for about a week after the move and didn't have time to unpack before heading back to work after the new year, so it took a full week to unpack. So it had been two weeks. Anyway the phone has a big pink sticker on it and is distinguishable. Several days after my initial call, and limping along at work without my business phone, I hadn't yet heard anything back so I called them back. I spoke with one of the owners (I'm honestly not sure if it was Derek or Roger) and he let me know that "people lose things all the time and find them later." He said they checked the truck and didn't find anything. I described the phone to him again and asked them to check again as by that point I was certain I didn't have it. I had it the morning of the move and hadn't seen it since, and it's not in my house. I don't feel that my requests regarding the phone were taken seriously. I called twice, spoke with the receptionist the first time and one of the owners a second time, was told that they would look, I left my number, and didn't get a call back either time. I didn't call back a third time on the issue, I had waited long enough. I had the phone replaced at a cost of $400 to my department and it will affect my raise and review later this year. Sometimes "cost" is more than just what you pay. I understand that if you want to make sure something is done right, you should do it yourself. I'm old-fashioned I guess in the sense that if I pay a premium for someone else to do it right, they will do it right, and not lose my stuff, otherwise I might as well have done the whole move myself if I couldn't trust them to move anything and everything, including my work bag. And if they are going to charge a premium for their service, that they will provide top notch customer service, which includes simple things like following up with their customers regardless of the status of what they found (or didn't find). I understand that it isn't a 100% certainty that the phone is lost in their truck somewhere, only that it is likely, and I'm really not convinced that my request was taken seriously or that any serious effort was made to look for the phone based on the condescending attitude of the owner with whom I spoke regarding the phone. I shouldn't have had to follow up the first time after my initial call regarding the phone, but I did. But I didn't bother a second time. That's what Angie's list is for, I suppose. This is why they get a D for professionalism and responsiveness. If a serious effort was made to locate the phone and follow up with me regardless of the results I would have been a lot more satisfied as a customer even if the move was priced about $200 more than it should have been.

Thank you for your feedback. I reached out to the customer with the email below. She accepted our full refund and advised that she will update her review. Hi , I read your review on Angie's List. I am very sorry about your experience with our company. I appreciate how articulate the review was and the time you took to describe the experience you had and the reasons for your letter grades. As disappointing as it is to read, it allows me to get an idea what is going on at ground level. Firstly, I am glad you liked the movers and recognized their hard work. I am sure they are grateful for the generous tip you gave them. As far as the difference in cost goes, I am surprised. Camelback Movers is a good company and I know the owner. We are direct competitors but do things a little differently. One, thing that is different is our pad-wrapping - we wrap everything top bottom and sides, they drape most things in the truck. We wrap things completely so that we have less damage (it is not 100% though and I will address your damage down below) but it does take more time to do so. We also have a bit higher rates than Camelback which you noted in your review. I believe you are correct that you should expect better service (also addressed below). We feel we hustle more which usually makes up for more time to wrap things better but in your case, apparently it did not. Secondly, regarding the damage, I would like to send your contact information to our repair tech, Lucas. If you consent to this, I will send your contact information to Lucas and copy you. Damage in our business is something we avoid at all costs because it directly affects our bottom line. Repairing furniture is costly and time consuming and it reflects poorly on our business. It happens though on occasion. The solution is to quickly make arrangements to repair it to the customers satisfaction and to get it done. You will find Lucas to be prompt, amicable and friendly. Thirdly, I would like to address the cell phone issue. We get many calls from customers in the days immediately after a move about things that appear to be missing. Virtually every time, it is misplaced, still packed or under something. Moving is very chaotic and stressful and we realize the duress our clients are under during this time. We ask the client, in an empathetic way, to wait until the house is completely unpacked to report things as missing. That is typically the last we hear from a customer. We have even gone to the point in sending a guy or two over to the home as a search party and always the missing item shows up. We also caution customers of a moving company's "Best Practice" to transport personal valuables, watches, cash and personal electronics on their own along with medications. This avoids the very problem we are having here. I spoke with Roger and the guys and he did ask each mover on your job if they recalled seeing the phone with a pink sticker. No one could recall. He also asked Marcos to check all the trucks thoroughly right after your initial call with him. All nooks and crannies were searched. Honestly, on a move, small items can get behind drawers and into any number of places, never to be found, if they are not properly packed in boxes and the boxes are unpacked quickly. I have no idea if that is the case here. It is just a challenge we face from time to time, performing over a thousand moves a year. Regardless of all of this, we are empathetic about a lost cell phone. I certainly would be extremely aggravated and upset if mine were to come up missing. The most egregious thing I read in your review is that you felt our staff "did not take your issue seriously." This I will take up very "seriously" with our staff members. I am also going to implement a client issue log so I can review issues and make sure they are being followed up on appropriately. This is where your feedback can be helpful so I appreciate the detail you provided in your review. Now to make it right, which is where I come in. My feeling is that if we earned a C, we didn't earn our money. We are one of the more expensive movers in this market and the reason is that we have the best movers, the best equipment, the best systems and most ethical business practices. We also are very passionate about customer service and stand behind our 100% guarantee. We are not perfect and our systems break down from time to time, people make mistakes, things get damaged or lost, people have bad days etc. I do however, believe with conviction, that we are performing the four very best moves each day in the valley and we earn our money. But at the end of the day, we honor our reputation, value our clients and respect the responsibility they have entrusted us with. We make things right if we failed to provide an absolutely spectacular and memorable moving experience. In your case, we fell short and I am sorry. With that being said, we will be sending you a refund check of your moving costs back to you on Monday - in full.
