We called Frost Appliance as our first call, as we'd used them before for another refrigerator. They were able to schedule the same repairman as we'd had before for the same day we called. He showed up on time, and in moving the fridge away from the wall, already knew what the problem was when the compressor kicked on with that movement. He fixed the defrosting mechanism and our fridge once again is cold and working well.
Description of Work: Rewired/replaced a sensor for the defrosting mechanism in our garage refrigerator.

Frost Appliance has come out and fixed a number of things for me. The last repair they did for me was to repair my refrigerator and replaced the filter inside. Also they helped my replace the light inside my microwave. The technician was Chad and he was helpful and honest.
Description of Work: I use Frost Appliance for all my appliance repair needs. I was referred to them through the home warranty company.

The previous technician from a nameless company was there two hours and could not determine which part was in op. The previous technician could not obtain the three parts I needed. So I ordered them from another company in CA for a future repair. The Frost technician made the repair a month later. He arrived on time, determined exactly what part was inop and replaced it all within half hour. It would be a mistake not to use Frost Appliance.
Description of Work: Determine why the power to the refrigerator was not working. Replaced the power transformer circuit board assembly.

Chad gave me the Angie's List discount and the invoice was about $125.00 less than I thought it would be based on the last ice maker I had installed in a previous refrigerator. I would happily recommend Frost Appliance. They were efficient, professional, educational and very reasonably priced. Overall, I would give them an A+ for their service!
Description of Work: I call Frost Appliance on Monday morning as our ice maker in the refrigerator went out over the weekend. The scheduler was very professional and asked if I would like service that afternoon if a technician was available or would I prefer another day. I told her today would be great. She said it would be sometime around 3:00pm and the service technician would call me prior to arriving at my home. Chad called around 2:50pm and said he would be able to be at my home around 3:10pm and would that be convenient? I told him that was perfect. He arrived, and introduced himself. He was extremely professional, got right to work and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He told me the most common reasons that ice makers go out. He then showed me the piece that was corroded and said that he had another new unit in his vehicle. He brought that in and installed it quickly and efficiently.

Both elements in my oven went out at the same time, so it was a bad oven board controller (the most expensive and complex piece to fix). The company I called first diagnosed the problem immediately and quoted me a fair price with service that same night as they had the part in stock. I called Frost Appliance for a second opinion. Frost took the same information and quoted me $150, but service couldn't be scheduled immediately. I'm on a budget, so the lower price was appealing and I scheduled with Frost. There was a communication snafu the morning of the appointment, and subsequently the tech didn't arrive until 90 minutes after the appointment time. He diagnosed the problem as being the board controller, said he needed to order the part, but the final cost would be around $225. In dealing with the company for the part ordering and the return appointment, the lady was extremely snippy and had a horrible customer service attitude. The tech was awesome however, and we did get our oven fixed at a good price in the end.
Description of Work: Both elements in my oven went out at the same time, but the problem was determined to be the main controller board. A tech came to the house to diagnose the problem. He determined we needed a new controller board, and said he would have to order one. A week later, he returned with the part, replaced the part, and tested the oven before leaving.

Ok I wish that frost appliance will tell you about service call charges up front.
Description of Work: CALL for services on dryer they look at it and said it would be $244.00 to fix it. I said know thanks and then charge me $70.00 for ten mins of work.They did not tell me over the phone about service call of $70.00.

Called to make appointment to have our dryer fixed and lady on phone was very nice. We requested an appointment after 3pm. She told me that in a few days their guy could be there but she would put down after 1pm, and indicate we prefer a later appointment after 3pm. She said when guy called we could request he work with us to meet us after 3pm. On day of scheduled service, my husband got a call from Jim at 2pm stating he would be at our home in 5 minutes. My husband was on the road and on the way to the house and asked Jim if he could meet him at 3pm. Jim was very abrupt and rude and stated that his paperwork stated the appointment was after 1pm. My husband explained that we preferred 3pm because no one would be home until then. Jim again stated what his paperwork said and it was obvious he was not flexible or accommodating. He stated, "That's not going to happen," when asked if he could work with us once more. My husband then mentioned that I might be at home and Jim said he had my number and would call me. I was not home because it was time to pick up my daughters from school. Again, part of the reason we requested a later appointment. Jim left a voicemail that stated that since no one was home or available, he was already moving on and we would have to call the office to reschedule when we have more time in our schedule. Well Jim, fat chance that is going to happen! I am very surprised at the reviews this company has considering how unaccommodating and lack of professionalism this person had. We are taking our business to the next company that actually wants it.

This was a wonderful experience that reaffirmed my idea of service. The appointment response was prompt and the technician was on time, calling ahead to notify me as there was some dog relocation that had to occur. Our dryer heating element was not functioning. It was repaired and a half broken dryer door handle was ordered for us. I had simply been planning to re-glue it--again!! In just a few days the same technician brought the new handle by to drop it off as per our agreement. After all, how hard could it be to locate a few screws and replace that handle? The attachment area was hidden. He spent probably 30-40 minutes finding the correct screws to release the old handle and then reapplying the new. The area in which he worked was close and warm with relatively poor lighting for the area on which he focused. Yet it was done quickly with no complaint or any indication at all that he was frustrated or had regret about helping me out. The most surprising thing was that there was no charge for all that he did that day. I did tip him for his kindness. This is the second time we have used this company in the last few months, and both experiences were remarkably professional, reasonable and positive.

Refrigator freezing and water dispenser in door of freezer not working. Excellent customer service from the woman who responded on the phone to the repair. Had to re-schedule due to other commitments; very accommodating. Jim identified the problem, ordered the part. Two days late returned, installed the part. Problem fixed. Jim alerted me to possible continuing issues and what to do if problem continued BUT there have been no continuing issues: problem fixed!

The magnetron in our microwave failed. I called Frost Appliance repair and the set a date to come out. They had the part in stock and when Chad came out he was very courteous and professional. He took the microwave down and while he was doing the repair he allowed my wife to clean the spots that were hidden from us under normal circumstances. I would use there service again and would recommend them to my friends.

After a rain storm, my gas stove top was making a snapping sound that wouldn't turn off at the knob. I called Frost and told them my problem, and they told me to unplug the unit and let it dry out completely. If it was still making the noise, call back. I unplugged and dried and the noise stopped. Thanks for the free advice, Frost!

We really thought that a unit had to be replaced in our oven but when they came in with the equipment to replace it, they realized that they could just do a little minor adjustment. What we thought was going to be $300 only turned out to be about $70. They were really honest. They were ready to come the next day and they were very prompt. We explained to them what had happened because there was a lock on the oven and we weren't able to release it or open the oven. Talking with them, it seemed like this whole unit had to be replaced in the oven which would have cost us the labor plus the part. They came with two people and both of them seemed pretty experienced. When they came in, they were able to just make a little manual adjustment using a screwdriver and put it back into place for us. I was really happy because I was the one that broke it and it wasn't really as bad as I thought.

Can I give a rating higher than an A ? I don't see an A+ on here, but I'd give them that rating if it was possible. I tried calling several different repair companies, and (when I did get through to someone) the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. (Yes, there's New Years holiday in the middle of it ... but when you're without a fridge for 4 days, that's a big problem). I called Frost Appliances, and Jim answered the phone on the 2nd ring. He was able to come out within the hour (not taking 4 days like the other companies). Took him only a couple of minutes to diagnose that the circuit board had been fried, and he had a GE Circuit Board on the truck. Replaced it quickly and the freezer started up immediately. Jim was on time, very courteous, and very professional. I can't thank him enough for coming out so quickly and solving our problem! A+ in my book!
Description of Work: My GE fridge and freezer conked out on a Sunday morning. I tried calling GE directly (no answer) and the company where we had bought the freezer (no answer). Should have turned to Angie's List in the first place. I couldn't find a single company that was open on Sundays. So had to pack all the food into coolers and wait. (I'm not good at waiting ... but everyone has to learn a bit of patience sometime). On Monday morning, I started calling again. Called GE directly, and the earliest they could come out was on Thursday (5 days after fridge died). Called Spencers / Goldwing Appliances, and they thought they MIGHT be able to squeeze us in on Wednesday (4 days after it died) but that wasn't guaranteed ... it might be Thursday. (Better than GE, but not by much). Turned to Angie's List and called Frost. They came out within the hour! Fantastic! So much better than anyone else could do. Jim fixed it quickly and professionally, didn't mind my kids asking questions and looking over his shoulder, had GE parts on his truck. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER

It went very well, he got the freezer running in very little time.
Description of Work: Our freezer quit working on us and the ice cubes weren't being made properly either. We couldn't keep it quite cold enough. The person who came out was very polite and explained things well. He gave us our options and didn't push one over another. He was quite honest and fair. We went with the temporary fix until we could shop for a new appliance, which he felt was a good option and it has worked since! I know we will have to revisit this soon, but at least we are more prepared. Excellent job!!

My ice maker was leaking so I was getting a giant hunk of ice that I had to chisel out with a letter opener. Frost Appliance was able to come out the day after I called and he replaced the ice cube maker and it's been working perfectly! He was very friendly, came on time and was very professional.

Frost gave us estimate on replacement. After a bit of checking on replacement refrigerator, we decided to replace compressor. They returned with a new compressor, installed same and even changed out the water filter. Polite, friendly, extremely professional and would recommend them highly.

My GE Profile Side by Side ice and water dispensers had been hit and miss for a couple of weeks. At 12:30am this morning the refrigerator quit working -- just the lights were on. I subscribed to Angie's list, called for assistance, found Frost Appliance, called them about 11 this morning, a Saturday. They paged my request out as priority and I had a call from Jim in about 15 minutes or less. I gave him the model number of my refrigerator and Jim told me he would check to see if he had the parts on his truck. He called me back to let me know he had it and gave me an estimate. I printed Frost Appliance's coupon from Angie's list for 10% savings on parts. Jim arrived about 20 minutes later, pulled the refrigerator out and exchanged the control board from the back of the unit. Very friendly, courteous, respectful, and efficient. I will call them again in a heartbeat. From getting on Angie's list to the completion of the repair was about an hour. Awesome customer service beginning to end! I couldn't be more pleased!
Description of Work: Jim replaced the control panel in my GE Profile Side by Side and iit was up and running again.
