Frost Appliance

I contacted Frost Appliance to help me fix my Kenmore washing machine. They did not have an available slot for Thursday, so I inquired about a Friday morning opening. Annette called me to get details about my issue. I assumed she was helping to narrow down so the technician could bring the correct part and save time. She was very knowledgeable about the topic. She told me she would call me back after she talked to the tech. When she called me back, she told me the technician told her it was a certain part. She asked if I wanted to get the part and try to replace myself. I told her I could try and I would have them come out and fix if I could not. Not only did she give me the part number, she looked up a company that had the part, gave me the number and address of the company, but knew if they had it in stock. Who does this? A very service oriented company. I went and got the part and it fixed my issue. Kudos to both Annette and the unknown technician. Of course I will use them if I ever have another problem. But I will also spread the word to anyone needing appliances fixed. A++

and fuses. H took the front The top of my dryer was getting hot even though I had just had the vent cleaned. Robert came out and tested the dryer and it eas getting very hot. Robert said he was positive it was a blockage in the vent but checked the heating element and fuses. He took the front off of the dryer and vacuumed inside. He was right about the blockage. A second company came the next day and found it was blocked. Mike was very pleasant. and explained what he was doing as he went along. I would use this company again.

From initial phone call to service call, all went smoothly and professionally. Robert, the service tech, was friendly, competent and honest. We thought we had a problem with the refrigerator's motor, but he checked it out and said it was working normally. He also took the washer and dryer apart to inspect and clean them. He found no problems -- and said they were in great shape, especially for their age.

Wow. I own my own business, so, I was not the easiest customer to schedule with. Annette helped massage the schedule and got a tech out to me quick. The tech, Chad, hung in there for me and waited. He was a consummate professional the entire time and unlike the 5 GE Corp techs (who had no idea why they even came to my house) I was forced to deal with this year on the other frige, he came, he saw, he kicked a***. Chad diagnosed the issue and WONDER of WONDERS, had the part on his truck because Annette outfitted him to address the concerns I discussed with her on the phone! Customer for life right here!

Our refrigerator failed while we were on vacation. Our kids emptied it for us and put salvageable items in spare fridge. When we arrived home I realized it was beyond my skills to diagnose and repair. Searched Angie's List and Frost Appliance had good reviews and convenient location for us. They responded quickly. The repairman was friendly and competent. Less than one day to wait for a part and less than $300 later it was fixed. We are very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The frozen freezer defroster drain had been repaired once before by another in June 2014. This time the Frost repairman added an extension of the defrost heater wire into the drain. This should insure the drain does not freeze again :-)

Chad came out, took care of the problem immediately and gave me some suggestions to keep it working. He was thorough, very pleasant, exceptionally professional and i WILL hire them again if i have appliance problems in the future. They deserve the highest award Angies List can bestow.

The technician gave some ideas on why things are freezing and he replaced the icemaker. Everything was very professional. Our refrigerator and ice maker are now working very well. I would use them again. Excellent work and customer service.

It was a fine experience. They were friendly, timely, and a good company overall.

Tech responding only barely examined outside of washer/dryer unit and said it would be $600-$700 to repair without bothering to examine inside the machine. Ignored my request to replace garbage disposal yet charged $80.00 for this sham visit. Not using this service company again.

Couldn't get an appointment right away, but settled on a weekend appointment when I wouldn't have to worry about taking time off of work. Technician called in the morning as I had been told he would to give me an arrival window between 11am - 1pm. He arrived promptly at 12pm - On time! The technician was extremely friendly, personable and more importantly knowledgeable - I asked questions, he'd been working for Frost Appliance for 15 years and been doing appliance repair work longer than that. I was satisfied he knew his trade. He listed to the dryer and immediately had an idea of what was wrong - had something in my laundry gone missing? Other than the stereotypical sock I could think of nothing. He elected to open up the machine any way. I left him to his work only to find him checking out my dishwasher within a few minutes. Surprised and worried that the diagnosis was "you're going to need a new dryer" I asked him if he had finished with the dryer. He handed me the underwire from a bra and indicated that it was the source of my problem. It had tumbled out of the dryer and into an area where it didn't belong! And the charge for this miracle cure was only $80! I was thrilled. (I had anticipated a much costlier encounter). He quickly assessed my dishwasher too, which came down to a question of rather expensive repairs versus replacement. He recommended replacement, which I not only agreed with, but actually had suspected would be the result. Lastly, I asked him for a favor (not something that his company advertises service for) but if he could look at my DLP tv and see if the replacement bulb I had purchased for it was not seated correctly or if he could put it in for me. He went farther and actually tested the bulb - giving me the result that the new bulb I had purchased was not good. What a relief to know I wasn't crazy for not getting the thing to work - I just needed to return the bulb I purchased and exchange it for another. I offered to pay him for that service as well and he refused. He only charged me the $80 service fee to repair the dryer. Fair, honest and friendly - I will NEVER call anyone else for service again. They have a customer for LIFE.

While the guy did what he could, and identified the problem had nothing to do with the dryer itself, the low "professionalism" grade is due to the fact that he told me I could solve the problem myself. When we looked at the breaker panel and saw that there was a short, he gave me instructions to replace the bad breaker. First, he told me the wrong breaker to purchase. Second, after calling a friend to make sure it was safe for me to replace the breaker I was told by him (and later by a couple other electricians) that my panel was absolutely NOT safe for a amateur to replace the breaker. It's is a very old panel with no kill-all breaker, therefore it would remain hot the entire time. I really don't think the guy should suggest to a customer to do electrical work unless they are absolutely certain that it is safe! I'm giving a "B" grade because ultimately it is not this company's fault that they did not solve the problem. But I do think they should be docked for providing advice that could have been very dangerous.

Called Frost on 12/3/2014. Was told that a technician could only come the next day (12/4/2014), Annette took my details and informed me that the technician would call ahead 20 minutes. Promise was kept and Robert the technician called ahead to let me know he was on his way. The diagnostic was made promptly and a lot cheaper than anticipated. Robert was pleasant and very informative.

I gave them a call on Saturday morning, but they were unable to make a service call until the following Monday. They arrived around 4pm and found the issue. However, the part needed to be ordered and the part would not be arriving until Thursday or Friday. We couldn't wait that long and ended up calling another another Angie's list vendor. That vendor came the very next day and even repaired at a lower price. We did end up paying the $80.00 service call fee to Frost Appliance.

It was a really great experience and they gave great service.

I called their customer service and talked with Annette. Extremely friendly and helpful. Actually, as soon as I stated our refrigerator issue she mentioned that she was booked for the next 2 days and suggested I try other options to see if I can get faster service. The reality was after attempting other services the competition was booked for a week out. I called Annette back and told her that I appreciate her suggestion and complimented her on the excellent customer service even if it means not attaining the business. That service alone will guarantee that we will use Frost Appliances again. Then the technician showed up on a busy Saturday afternoon and serviced the refrigerator by cleaning the coils and said the water/ice was frozen and should work in the next two days after defrosting. The total time to address the issue was less than 30 minutes. Unfortunately, that did not resolve the issue as the temperature did not maintain properly and the water/ice did not start working. I called Annette back and she immediately scheduled the technician to come back and evaluate. During the second visit it was identified that the main electronic board was potentially bad. The technician was very descriptive in explaining the option and also educating us on potential issues down the road from replacing the board and heat potentially causing more issues depending on refrigerant running properly to keep cool. So decided to replace mother board and immediately the water/ice started to work and within a day the temperature maintained. The technician was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for the service and standing by work. The only additional cost was for the mother board only and no labor charge. Very reasonable company to work with.

Very badly. The original service tech (Mickey), was on time but smelled very bad like an ashtray. He was clearly having a bad day and I was caught in the middle of it. He let the washer spill dirty smelly water all over my laundry room and I had to clean up most of it including under my gas dryer that was very difficult for me to move. Once he was done with that, he made all sorts of excuses to not clean my refrigerator coils, finalizing in that he didnt have a brush in his truck. I still had to pay for the full service call, and had to call and complain just to get a second appt for another tech to clean the fridge coils. So I had to take another half day off for that. Then a few weeks later the office manager called to get another credit card number from me for the $80 service call, because thet dont take American Express. So after a LENGHTY conversation with her, she agreed that I didnt have to pay allthough she certainly tried her best to make me feel guilty for complaining about the firts guy becasue she told me his wife had passed away a few weeks earlier. I have to say, I definately felt awful after the call with her, and after several re-tellings of the story to my friends and family I only feel mad that she made me feel so guilty for excepting her offer of not having to pay for the horrible experience.

Tech pulled out old ice maker which was not working. He showed me the problem with it . Ice maker was quite old so I was not surprised it had given out. Installed new ice maker. Tech was very professional. I received a reply from Frost Appliance within aboutl 10 minutes after submitting my request on line and got an appointment with my first date of preference. Can't ask for any better service than that!! They will be my preference now for any appliance repair I may need. Thank You!!!!

We found them on Angie's List. The guy came out, he was really good, he knew what was wrong with it after he examined it, he had the part in his truck and he fixed it and got us going. So that's the kind of thing you want to hear about when your fridge goes out. I was really pleased. I spent about $100 so it was reasonable for the labor and the part. He was her for about an hour, he's a professional guy and we would call him back if we needed anyone to do something like that again.

CLEAN, NEAT. ON TIME ! REPAIR WAS COMPLETED IN 1 HOUR AND HALF AS STATED BY REP FROM COMPANY. TENANT IS VERY SATISFIED WITH RESULTS. WASHER IS WORKING.

I had unplugged the fridge the evening before service call. I plugged the appliance in when provider arrived. Fridge began working as normal. Provider could not duplicate trouble. He cleaned the coils of the fridge (dirty) and charged me for the service call. He stated the service call charge includes a 30 day warranty, if appliance causes problems in that time, he will return, no charge. I am very pleased. This guy could have done the "I replaced this part and it'll be $200". Honest guy, honest company.......what more can you ask for in appliance repair?
