It all went very well

Despite the hard sell, I was impressed with the product during the initial visit. However, they never answered the e-mail I sent with questions despite a follow-up phone call to make sure that they received it. The lack of responsiveness combined with the pushy sales tactics, the slightly higher prices and less than sterling warranty made it easy for me to choose another company.

My wife and I had been looking to replace all of the exterior facing windows on our 30 year old home since first moving in 5 years ago. Following the recent inclusion of federal tax credits for new high efficiency windows, we decided that it was now or never and decided to take the plunge by soliciting several local contractors to bid on the job. Desert King offered not only the most compelling product amongst the various contractors we sampled (their windows are manuf. by Window Mart) but they back it up with excellent service. The sales process was impressive and they offer a discount for cash deals. The windows were custom manufactured in the USA in a matter of 2 weeks from first order. The installation team was both professional and very easy to work with. They arrived on-time (actually a bit ahead of time) and they were complete with the entire job in a matter of a few hours. They went above and beyond their normal scope of work to replace a rotted interior sill that had gone un-noticed by myself until the original windows were removed. They also took extra care in removing and replacing our window treatments. Upon final inspection, I noticed that one of the windows had a small defect, which the installers confirmed and relayed to the local office. Desert King is faithfully replacing this window without any issue. The crew cleaned everything thoroughly prior to their departure. They hauled away the old windows and frames and sent them off to be recycled. The proceeds from the recycling reportedly go to benefit the local Children's hospital. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality and construction of the windows themselves as well as with the professionalism and congeniality of the sales and install crew. I can't wait for my first summer season SRP bill to note any anticipated savings in cooling costs. If my first few days of first-hand experience with the windows is any measure, they should be significant.

Was informed that there is a minimum of 4 windows or doors. It seems strange that a company is willing to forgo business of a couple of thousand dollars in the belief it is a waste of their time.

I got 3 bids for the project. The bid from Desert King was not the lowest but for the quality they were offering their prices seemed appropriate. They gave us a good price. They did a good job. Their service was good. I am satisfied with the purchase. They replaced 3 patio doors and about 20 windows. They make their own doors and windows. They are the manufacturers and distributors for their products. They do every thing from beginning to end so that they can make it to the specifications without any extra charges. They also make it specifically for the order so they know all the specifications clearly. It took them about 5 weeks to manufacture the doors and windows. They installed all the doors and windows in one day. They came in the morning and were done that afternoon. It was quick. They cleaned up after themselves and sealed everything. There was nothing left to do. The job was done 6 months ago and I have not had any problems. I would recommend them if somebody needed to get a window job done.

We are happy with this company. The salesman that sold us the job was knowledgeable and straight forward. The crew who installed the windows showed up on time and were efficient and considerate during installation day. Two years later we called about a problem with our sliding glass door. Mike showed up the next day and corrected the problem.

Overall and all they did a good job. They showed up on time to do the work and also finished the job on time. If we needed to, we would hire them again.

They were great. They came out when they said they would and finished the job when they said they would. I would use them again if I ever needed to install windows in my house again.

We were very impressed with them. They had a big crew and finished in one day. They did a great clean up. They were very quick from the time we ordered the windows until they installed them.

Their sales people make the argument that they are more expensive, but they are worth it. They claim the work would be better than others. When the crew came out, they did not live up to the expectations and did not seem well trained. During the work, they damaged a tile countertop and several other aspects of the property. After the job, Desert King admitted that they were busy and had sent out a less than skilled crew. The bottom line was that they represented themselves as a highly trained company, but the end result did not match.

One of the rooms was so hot, these windows made a big difference with that. It is so much more comfortable in that room. They did a really good job. Cleaned up really well. I would recommend them and I really like their product.

Wonderful. They were here for four and a half hours. Everything was just right. They took down the blinds and put them back up. Very nice work. The windows fit great. I would recommend them to anybody.

They were very meticulous, making sure they laid down tarps to protect my carpets and floors when they were working on the windows. They called me the day before they came out to confirm. There was a crew of four people and they finished the job in 1 day.

The experience exceeded our expectations and the workmanship was much better that similar windows purchased from a home improvement store. Despite the highly custom windows, they arrived well before the promised date and much sooner than the home improvement store experience. One of the windows was broken on the truck. We had a replacement within a few days. The installation crew and clean-up was exceptionally good.

For a house we are remodeling without appliances: over one hour late on measurement day. On installation day over 3 hours late. I sat in a house without windows and air conditioning on a 114 degree day for more than 3 hours! Appointment for 9:30 am. I called at 9:45 am, and was told they were "on their way". I called the company at least 4 more times. Because they promised me they would be there shortly I let my children swim in the pool. By 1:00 pm my children were starving, sun burned and begging to leave. I do not understand why Desert King Windows repeatedly told me they were on their way to my house when they were not. I rescheduled the installation with trepidation. I requested a 10% discount. They denied it and reduced my cost by $250 and a $50 Home Depot gift card. I have not yet received the Home Depot card promised me in July even though I have reminded them twice. They installed a ripped screen which they fixed.

The company was great, from the first contact to the installation. Installers were prompt, clean, neat, and professional. They were also very friendly. Installation process was neat and orderly and was done in one day. I was so impressed with the quality of the windows/door and the installation that I referred them to my sister- in-law, and they gave she and I each $100 for her just listening to their presentation. She also ended up getting new windows.

They were kind enough to schedule the sales appointment for a Saturday. They kept mom informed about the order. Mom was really disappointed that Frank (sales guy) told us that all of the windows would fold in for easy cleaning and none of them do. The screen covers the entire window so that would have been great if it was accurate. I was at the presentation and saw him demonstrate how the windows function. She also thinks a woman should inspect the final cleaning to take care of the details.

They did a great job. Was in and out in 3 hours. Cleaned up good. Workers were very nice and professional. Answered all questions. Willie's crew were very professional and I will call them when I need additional windows to replace. They had a flat tire on the truck, but called and let me know that they were going to be late (only about 30 mins).

Desert King was very thorough- their sales presentation was good (although a bit cheesy) & their customer service was wonderful. Our windows were custom-made within 3 weeks & installed by a team of really nice guys. They worked fast & cleaned-up after themselves. All the work was done within 3 hours. The pricing was extremely reasonable for the high-quality windows & installation. We will definitely recommend Desert King to friends.

We liked the fact that they responded so quickly. Unlike many other people, they didn't hesitate to give us recommendations for other customers. We contacted the other customers, and based on their comments we went with Desert King.

Came on time, gave estimate, final price exactly the estimated price. Worked to get us some show windows. Ben, the sales person was great. They sent two crews, because we had so many windows They ran a little late in the day and installed the last window in the dark! We did have one issue with the door and upper window not lining up, but that was corrected the next week.

The company completely wasted my time. After many interactions, I was finally told that they "did not do new construction". This was after I had 4-5 phone/email exchanges with one of their employees and was given a promise for a quote that never came. And the manager didn't like it when I told them they wasted my time and that the company hired stupid people!

THEY ARRIVED EARLY, JUST BEFORE APPT TIME. FRIENDLY, READY TO WORK. KEPT WORKING STRAIGHT THROUGH TILL JOB WAS FINISHED. CLEANED UP THEIR MESS WELL AND SHOWED ME DETAILS TO LOOK FOR.

THEY WERE THE MOST COMPETITIVE IN KIND, THE LIFE TIME WARRANTY WAS THE SELLING POINT. VERY PROFESSIONAL SALES PERSON AND INSTALLERS.
