Cross Country Movers

If I could rate this company a Z- or a -100 on a scale of 1-10 I would. They have someone give you a false quote over the phone and then you never hear from that person again... ever! Then you get someone else who plans to pick up your things. After they evaluate it and load it onto the truck you are at their mercy and they double the price on you. Oh, but I forgot to tell you that the company that picks up your possessions and is supposed to move it IS NOT THE SAME MOVING COMPANY!!!! They subcontract out to someone else, so now you really don’t have anyone to talk to who knows anything. They loaded up my daughters things on February 8 and were supposed to deliver them by the 15th. We heard nothing. I have records of over 50 calls made to every number we could find. Most of the time the mailboxes were full, occasionally someone would say they were checking on it, someone was supposed to get bs k to us, etc. total runaround and complete BS situation. In the very very fine print if says they can take up to 21 BUSINESS DAYS TO DELIVER, and that is exactly what they did. My daughter’s $6000 tempurpedic mattress was not laid flat as promised because it cost the movers too much because it took up to much space. This entire situation was excruciatingly painful, very unprofessional and we are still talking to lawyers about resolution because we have so much proof of misconduct. When AVI finally delivered my daughters things he unloaded everything, set up the 5 big pieces and left everything else out in the garage and took off. They actually hired movers from Craig’s list for loading, packing and unloading the trucks. I am strongly considering canceling my Angie’s list membership because this company was actually listed and I have placed my trust in Angie’s list for many years. This ruined it for me, my family, friends and turned a joyous occasion into a nightmare. Do not hire this company or any of their aliases!!!! And they have many. Do not trust them, they will say, I’m just the driver, I’m just dispatch, I’m just the salesman. The inmates are running the asylum here and the belong back in maximum security! This was the worst experience ever and I’m also checking into our local news station to see if they will cover this story just to expose these terrible people and keep them from preying on others. Never again. And never again Angie’s list. You have lost my trust and those of our friends and neighbors.

They were flexible and gave us the dates and exact times we wanted, returned all email or phone falls promptly, and didn't ask for any money at all until the job was completed to our satisfaction. They also were willing to disconnect appliances and reconnect them in the new house, disassemble and reassemble any furniture that needed that done, take window ac units out and reinstall them in the new house, and when the washer needed a different type of plug although they don't do electrical work, they showed my husband step by step how to do it. All of this saved us a lot of money by not having to hire a handyman . They were willing to move all types of belongings that my son had including plants, bottles, food, etc. Many other movers I contacted would not touch those items. The price quote was guaranteed so we didn't have to worry about movers invoking up to a 15% cap like has happened to us twice before with other movers. Moving is stressful enough, and cross country movers company eliminated much of this stress. Their delivery window for such a long move ( over 550 miles) could have been the next day if we wanted. None of this nonsense about waiting 3 to 14 days for your belongings. I would highly recommend them for any type of move, local or long distance.

Heard back from the estimator, Leo, incredibly quickly, and he came out to give me a bid the next day. The bid was based on weight (rather inventory list) and was fairly reasonable for full packing, delivery, and reassembly. The estimate actually stayed true to the final cost, which I have never had happen before. Leo was always incredibly prompt to respond to any questions I had (within a matter of hours) and was incredibly easy to get a hold of if I had questions. For example, we were supposed to move on a Sunday, but due to last minute issues with my condo association, had to change the date to Thursday (just two days beforehand). They were incredibly accommodating and were able to change their schedule around to meet mine. The packers were very professional and speedy (had about 4 people working), and per our request, started before we were able to arrive. Everything was incredibly well packed and had no issues with damaged furniture at all. Even with a move halfway across the country, my things arrived in 4 days. The driver kept in contact regularly, gave me a four hour window to deliver, and even accommodated my request to come at the end of that window. They even rearranged my storage room to fit all of the extra stuff, which I expected would have taken up two rooms (but they managed to get it all into one). All in all, everyone was incredibly friendly, flexible, speedy, and careful with my stuff through and through. Could not have asked for a better moving experience and thanks cross country movers!

I am not sure if I am allowed to mention names but Roy, Steve, Kyle and especially the team leader Anthony gave our family a service that was one in a million. Unfortunately, (no fault of the company) our antique sofas were slightly bigger than anticipated with the ground floor ceiling slightly lower than we had recognized and we had literally given up all hope of getting it in. After all the struggles the team had with the very frustrating angles of my sofas (which are very precious to me!), they were so persistent to please us that decided to come up with a plan. However, we have never seen anything like this before, the team decided to split up and whilst some went upstairs the others remained downstairs we (the family) began to wonder what on earth they were doing. Before I knew it, my husband called us to the back of the house to watch the true CROSS COUNTRY MOVERS IN ACTION. Not only did they put us all in absolute shock, it was transitional to see my most sentimental furniture being carried into the air but my goodness...WOW WOW WOW.... The weight of that chair is like an elephant and they were still able to accomplish it without one scratch! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND REMARKABLE SERVICE! We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we wouldn't use any other service if we were ever to move. Thank you for great service cross country movers!

Every aspect of the move was a good experience. In response to my request for a quote I got both a call and an email in response within 10 minutes; I also got immediate responses (from James) to a couple of emails I had containing questions about the cost and moving process. CCM called me to confirm the move both 48 hours before and 24 hours before, and the moving crew themselves called me on the morning of the move to let me know they were on their way. I want to give a special shout-out to the AWESOME moving crew - Henry, George, and Kevin. These guys put in hard work the entire day - seriously they never stopped - and they took only a very brief lunch break. I have a ton of books that not only had to be boxed up but then they all had to be carried upstairs in the new place - I felt so bad about making the guys do that but they were great, super nice and kept positive about the whole thing. Everything - furniture, TV's, etc. - was wrapped and taped perfectly and not one item was broken, chipped, dirtied, or cracked. I couldn't be any more satisfied with the entire moving experience and I would not hesitate to highly recommend Cross Country to anyone.

We were only supposed to have three movers but we ended up with a fourth and all four of them were superb. They all were extremely personable, attentive, and efficient. I had a number of meaningful pieces of furniture and art that I was nervous about having to move. But, during this move, there wasn't a single moment where I was worried about them. They addressed all of my concerns and treated each of the pieces like they were their own. Everything fragile or valuable was handled with the upmost care. . Every box was carefully taken out. Furniture was wrapped and taped and carefully placed onto the truck. They made packing up my home a million times less stressful than I thought it would be and made one component of an interstate move less complicated. These young men worked so very hard for five hours (in the rain) and with smiles on their faces the entire time. I was impressed with the easy, comfortable way they worked with each other, and more importantly, with my kids. They are a won't be the cheapest but there truly are no hidden fees or taxes. And for the amount of stress they save you from not having to worry about any aspect of your move, it's worth every $. I am happy I would not have got any better than this company. Cross Country Movers are awesome. Everyone I came into contact from Cross Country Movers was very professional. I was in good hands entire time. The day of the move three movers came right on time and they moved all my belongings very quickly. Also, they were very careful and wrapped up all the furniture to make sure nothing would happen to it. They tracked their time honestly, wrapped furniture better than when I moved it with a big interstate company in the past, and made my move just about as stress-free as possible. would recommend this to anybody who wants to professional, quick and affordable long distance moving help.
