Cobra Rooter & Plumbing Service

I thought my sewer line was leaking. Turns out it was a punctured drip line that I had dismissed after digging it up and inspecting for holes. The owner of Cobra Plumbing showed up, took a look at the sewer line, and said it had to be the irrigation line; the sewer was working just fine. He spent a few minutes inspecting the drip lines and found a crack on the bottom of one of the drip system main lines. He promptly fixed it and asked if I had any other plumbing issues he could fix because I still had one hour of time left. Great company, would highly recommend!

The first time went fine. He arrived on time as agreed and completed the work pretty quickly. My wife and I were impressed. We were happy for about a week until the drain backed up again. We called again because he gave us a 30 day warranty. He came back out and started unclogging the drain. He then came into my house and asked my wife and I what we were putting down the drain. We typically throw most of our food in the trash and the only thing that typically goes down the garbage disposal are whatever is stuck to the dishes. I also did mention that I put down some lemon peels about a week ago but I cut them into small pieces before I put it down the drain. He stated that I can't put citrus peels down the garbage disposal. This seems like a strange requirement considering that I've lived in the house for over 15 years and have two large orange trees. Citrus peels have gone down the drain for 15 years and now it is an issue? My main concern stems from the fact that the plumber admitted we have a clog about 25 feet from the kitchen drain but he can't clear it. He stated that he got most of it out but can still feel something. He is unable to tell me what is causing the clog or how to clear it. He was just happy with the fact that he cleared part of it and my kitchen sink is now able to drain. I'm not sure what I got for the $80 that I paid. I guess that is a great rate for clearing drains but I'd rather pay twice that amount to clear the drain completely. He also tried to charge us an additional $80 for the work he completed today. We had to show him proof that he came out less than two weeks prior for the same purpose. Good thing we didn't throw away our paperwork. All in all I will never use this company again. I liked the discounted price but plumbing service is not something that I want done halfway. I fully anticipate that I will have a clog in the drain in a couple of weeks. At that time, I will have to find another plumber that can actually resolve the problem. I also want to state that he is a nice guy and definitely prompt. As I stated earlier, we were happy the first time around. But things were not so pleasant when he had to return. Especially, when we accused my wife and I of "doing something wrong" because the drain clogged again. I wasn't going to write this review because I truly want small companies to be successful. I decided to go ahead because the purpose of Angie's List is to write fair and accurate reviews to give future consumers information. This is why I joined Angie's List so I'm being as honest and fair as possible.

It was very good. He was very knowledgeable. He did a great job. He provided a lot of information. He was timely.

Phone was answered promptly. I asked if they could come out for an emergency that day and was told they'd be there within the hour. Gentleman on the phone was very pleasant and courteous. The technicians showed up promptly and were extremely friendly and efficient. I'd highly recommend this company.

I just joined Angie's list the same morning I contacted Jerry @ Cobra Rooter & Plumbing Service. I used the feedback ratings Contacted Jerry on Saturday morning Dec 20th. I explained to Jerry that the Washing machine had backed up through the toilet on the same floor late on Friday the biggest problem with the location of the washing machine backing up through the toilet. What made getting this problem fixed quick was that my 91 year old was affected by the non op bathroom and had to be fixed right away. This was my first time using Angie's, I'm so pleased that I found Jerry early on a Saturday Morning he gave me a narrow range of what the cost would be and even after arriving and realizing that we had a two story home. Jerry explained that it would be better to remove a toilet in the downstairs bath a location closer to the plugged drain and it would be a more efficient way to clear the plug even it was more work to remove the toilet and install again. Jerry took great care in to cover the floor and place a cover over Rooter Machine to keep the drain residue off the floors and walls. Jerry ran the snake with the drain clearing tool all the way out the main city sewer line to make sure not only the drain line under the house was cleared and insured that the drain line was cleared all the way out to the city sewer line. relieving my anxiety that I might have tree roots clogging up my main drain line that runs for over 70 feet out to the main city sewer line,. Bottom line is most other companies would have charged extra for the toilet removal but Jerry kept it well closer to the lower end of the price range he quoted me over the phone. I really appreciate his honesty and integrity. The difference between Jerry and a previous Nationally Advertised Rooter service that I had hired to do the same job about ten years ago, and had over $265.00 This nationally advertised Rooter service run the drain clearing metal snake through the roof vent of second story roof of our house because it was easier than removing the toilet and they could charge more money the longer the distance to the sewer, later we found out that the rooter service had damaged the edge of our roof by letting the metal coiled snake chafe and rip the edge of the roof with over a hundred feet of metal snake up the edge of our roof and then back down again. This is why I chose to use Angie's list. I'm glad I did. Jerry took the time and extra work to do the job right and at a very reasonable fair cost. I wish more contractors were like Jerry. I would highly recommend COBRA to anyone. Didn't have the best experience today. When Dave arrived today he did not provide his name or introduce himself. He began working on a drain clog in the kitchen which he cleared pretty quickly with a rooter. If it had stopped there we would have been fine. He then went to fix a drain in the bathroom sink. In the process he broke the stopper in the sink. Things like this can happen, but the response from that point was not good. Professionalism really dropped with lots of swearing and yelling from the bathroom as he tried to fix it. He spent several hours and was working hard but then told he us couldn't fix the stop and instead was going to create a setup where we would have to reach under the sink to engage the stop. As it went along I was feeling less comfortable that he knew what he was doing. He called some other technicians to help and they were able to fix the stop back to it's original functionality. But that took several hours. Providing a low score based on the quality of work and the low professionalism. I don't intend to use this company again.

He was great. We got same day service even during the holidays. Our clogs were pretty bad so he had to come back a second time to get deeper into the pipes and was able to clear more of the blockage. He was nice enough not to charge us for the second visit. He was very thorough and made sure that everything was working throughout the house to make sure there weren't any other blockages. He was great about cleaning up after himself.

Cobra was very efficient, professional, and affordable. They quickly scheduled an appointment, showed up on time, explained what they were doing, completed the work quickly and charged a reasonable rate.

Spoke with Jerry for service and he had a technician out within an hour. He was professional and courteous and completed our pipe drain within 30 min.

Gerry responded to a leak in my front yard watering system and was able to quickly come over so that I could keep a scheduled trip out of town. He did a great job repairing my watering system leak and also fixed my inoperable shut off valve. I also asked him to look at my hot water heater to determine why it wasn't heating effectively, and he easily spotted and fixed the problem. He was a pleasure to work with! I will definitely use him again and highly recommend him.

Everything went fine. They came sooner than they thought, within an hour of when I spoke to them.

The tech was at my house two hours after my call, very quick response. Fixed clogged kitchen sink drain in 5 minutes; I had been trying to snake it for an hour. Will definitely use Cobra again.

Bought a deal to have Cobra come out and snake a drain in my house that I was selling. Home inspector indicated that the tub in the master bathroom had a slow drain. Good communication with Cobra and was able to get the job done with no problems.

He took the faucet apart and showed me that the O-ring was broken. He didn't have the proper O-ring to replace it, so he temporarily replaced it with an oversized ring, and said he would come back with the proper ring. I got a call from the owner later, stating that they were trying to locate a replacement. That was about ten days ago, and still nothing. I called about five days ago, and the owner, who was very nice, told me that he yelled at the tech that came and told him to get over here to fix it. Still nothing. At this point, I can't even rotate the faucet due to the oversized ring. So far I'm out $101 with a faucet that's just as bad as it was to begin with.

I owned a property management business in Phoenix/Scottsdale and had two qualified sub contractors for every specialty. Cobra ROOTER (there is another different Cobra plumber in the Valley) was my number 1 go to plumber. Experienced, knowledgeable and always fair priced!

Extremely fast. Genuinely friendly. Great job done. A previous plumber had charged us 4 times that amount for the same repair in back of house.

When my washer drained, it backed up into the kitchen sink. The clog was cleared and we spent some time discussing future projects that I am planning. I was completely satisfied.

Communication was excellent from start. Contacted by email for appointment based on my preference given. When tech was stuck in traffic, was contacted to let me know he was running late. Did work quickly and professionally.

The company responded within minutes of my request and they were able to do the install the same week. The install went very smoothly. Israel was my installer. He did a great job. He cleaned up after the install. I found him professional and knowledgeable. They had an hourly rate at $80, which is very reasonable for plumbing work. I would definitely use them again.

They came promptly on a Sunday and charged much less than other plumbing services that I called.

Received an astronomical water bill..2nd one in last 2 months. Checked the meter..have a leak. Its an old house so I was very concerned it might be the dreaded line to the city. Not wanting to mess around, I contacted a leak detection company. He says it's a running toilet, which by the way, is in a guest bath that is never used. Having owned several homes over the years I kind of figured I know when the toilet is running and also know how to stop and fix it. He said it was "silent running" which could only be detected by his equipment. While I would welcome this possibility, I had my doubts. Long story short, I asked him to please turn the water valve off behind the toilet as the meter was 'running' until I could fix it. In so doing, he broke the valve resulting in water all over the floor. Thus, I now had to call a full service plumber to replace the valve. The following day I contacted Cobra...it was already after noon so I had no expectation of getting service today. I was wrong. The voice on the other end (I suspect it was Jerry..don't know) was confident, assuring and scheduled a tech within a couple of hours. Israel called when en route, as promised, and arrived when expected. He laid down protective floor covering and was very respectful of the small space. He had all needed parts and the job was done quickly and efficiently despite being squeezed into a very confined area. I inquired about possibly fixing an aging frozen shower on/off knob. Israel gave me the possible scenarios and cost. Since he was already on site, there would be no additional service call. I opted to go for it. As it turned out, the cartridge could not be replaced and the job would have been far more extensive. I declined, so he put it all back together and there was no charge. The cost for the toilet parts was reasonable and simply added to the customary service call. I think I've found me a plumber! As for the other company; we'll have to see the next bill before reviewing them.

This was great service, he was prompt, efficient and knew exactly what to do. He also had the replacement parts so he was in and out in less than 40 minutes. I got a great price for all the work as he didn't charge for the added labor to fix the bathtub valve. I very happy with the overall experience and highly recommend.

I contacted the service provider and was informed that they do not service the Avondale area. When I mentioned that Angie's list shows Avondale as one of their service areas for the deal the provider was offering the person I was speaking with told me that their business has had nothing but problems with Angie's list and with getting their service area properly listed. He offered to still come out and do an estimate, since the deal was listed by Angie's list for Avondale but, I chose not to have them come out.
