Overall, it was a good experience. When I first called to get an idea of what the cost would be, his wife, Jackie, set up the appointment for Clarence to come to the house and give us an estimate. When he returned to do the work, he was efficient, cleaned up after himself and the cost was exactly that of the estimate. We recommend him highly.

This is the second time we have used Clarence. First time was to hang a dining room fixture from a 15' ceiling. Both times, Jackie scheuled our appointment promptly (next day). She is knowledgeable enough to give a solid quote and walk you through what materials you will need to complete the job. Clarence is punctual or early, professional, works fast and charges a fair rate. Excellent service and performance - a real keeper for us.

I did not receive other quotes but was very happy with the service and price. Very quick and professional. Any future electrical needs Clarence will be my first and only call. It took two days from first call to finished project.

Mr. Read arrived on time and completed all work in both houses in approximately seven hours. He was very professional and completed all work without me having to "look over his shoulder" to make sure the work was completed as I had requested. When his work was complete Mr. Read made sure that all work area debris was removed and even provided a $ 50 discount on our agreed price (estimate ).

The first contractor gave my wife a launtry list of work that "He" thought was needed. Clarance was honest enough to see the problem was very simple, and I will be forever gratefull and will recomend him to all my friends.

After purchasing an older home recently, we felt more lighting in our kitchen area was necessary, and a couple of recessed lights in our high, slanted ceiling would help. Being new to the area, I referred to our community newspaper for the name of an electrician. Called several listings and decided on C. Read & Son Electric because of 3 things: 1) were able to fit me into their schedule in a limited time frame 2) liked the way my phone call was handled by receptionist. She was very helpful and patient with my many questions 3) cost estmate was reasonable. Clarence Read was prompt, professional, courteous, fast, and did an excellent job on my lights. I was warned there might be some drywall damage when the lights and new light swiches were added. The job was completed with absolutely no damage to the drywall. He cleaned up when he was through, and everything was back in place before he left. I highly recommend C Read & Son Electric.

They were quite good; he was very reasonable and seemed to be very professional. He recommended a methodology that neither of us had thought about and ends up actually being a cost saver for us. He was pretty organized and prompt with setting up the estimate, as well as his office, who I think is run by his wife. We checked multiple different ratings websites on this company and everything we have heard has been positive feedback, so we didn?t really get a lot of estimates.

The wife mans the phone and was polite and friendly. She scheduled us for the following day and he arrived promptly and took care of the problem quickly.

I originally called them to see if I could get them to run a new thermostat wire from my air handler to my thermostat. I had recently had my heat pump serviced and had them look at the fact that I wasn't getting any heat from my downstairs heater. The AC person that I had servicing the unit told me that there was a short in one of the connecting wires and a new wire was recommended. I had asked them if they wanted to do the job of pulling the new wire and they had recommended that an electrician might be cheaper than to have them come back out and do this work. (I got the feeling that this worker just didn't want to fish a new wire.) I had him hook up the heat pump to heat, but the wire to switch the unit to AC was left unattached which would mean that I would have to at some point hook the AC back up. Although Clarence was reluctant to agree to doing this work, I asked him to come out and just have a look at the job and that if he could pull the wire, I could have an AC guy hook up my heat pump. In the meantime, I was able to locate an AC company that would pull the new wire for me, so I no longer really needed Clarence for my original job. However, I had wanted to have a dimmer installed on one light and a light controller on my front porch lights, and so I asked Clarence to do that for me instead of the original job. He was very professional and installed my two switches in less than 30 minutes. I was pleased with his work and will use his services again.

See above. Getting to this form to complete it for Angie's List is too complicated. On the initial "submit report" page being able to check the city involved needs to be included; and how to continue the list of providers beyond the first page isn't included so time had to be taken to type in the provider's name and address, etc. Now your stupid form is asking for all the asterisks to be filled out and having done so the report still won't submit. We need to be able to leave out a rating question rather than check everything. Ridiculous.

It went great! Jackie took my call and scheduled a free estimate. She was very friendly and helpful. They prefer to work in the Ahwatukee area. Clarence was right on time for the free estimate, and had good suggestions for the switches. Jackie worked with me to schedule the work. She was very accommodating when I needed to change the start time. Clarence again was right on time. He was very professional. All of the work was done extremely well, and the work area was cleaned. All debris was removed. I'm very happy with the work, and plan to use this contractor again whenever I need an electrician.

Super. Clarence was there on time and completed the job in about an hour and half. The work was done perfectly and he cleaned up the mess. I'm very pleased and will refer him to friends.

WITHIN THE AREA OF WORK THAT HE CHOOSES TO PARTICIPATE IN, HE DOES AN OUTSTANDING JOB. HE IS VERY QUICK, VERY SERVICE ORIENTED, ORGANIZED, AND IF YOU NEED ELECTRICAL WORK DONE IN HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE HE DOES AN OUTSTANDING JOB.

Called the day before to confirm the appt. and arrived on time. Asked for an explanation of the problems, confirmed the existing conditions, evaluated the 3-way switch wiring, found the switches had been connected incorrectly, rewired and took the time to explain the problem. Replaced the faulty GFCI, evaluated the remaining outlets, determined they were not GFCI protected, installed GFCI outlets.

I made an appointment and after a wait of a couple of weeks Clarence came out to take a look. It turns out that the job was bigger than he thought and he didn't have time to do it. He promised to return the next day. He didn't remember that he had an appointment so we were rescheduled for another couple of weeks. His wife was very nice and told me that if I needed faster service, I could call someone else. Since Clarence's reviews were so high, I waited. Next, he was sick. You get the idea. They were always professional, but couldn't get the job done. I think he's very busy due to his good reviews on Angie's list and he can't handle all the work. Oh, "Son" is a young boy, not a partner in the business.

Mr. Read replaced the ''hollywood'' lighting fiture in my bathroom and installed 2 additional fixtures. He worked quickly and quietly and was truly a gentleman. Additionally, his wife books his appointments and she couldn't be a nicer person. They are a great local ''mom and pop'' shop - they do outstanding work at a great value. I'd definitely work with them again!

SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. EVEN THOUGH IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY DO NOT USUALLY SERVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD, THEY HAD A JOB CANCELED AND OFFERED TO COME UP TO HANDLE MY WORK ON THE SAME DAY. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON PHONE AND THE ELECTRICIAN WHO PERFORMED THE WORK. THEY THOUGHT OF LITTLE THINGS, SUCH AS NOT ASSUMING WHETHER I WANTED A LAMP POINTED THE USUAL DIRECTION. IF THEY REGULARLY SERVED MY NEIGHBORHOOD, I'D BE CALLING BACK. THEY SEEM TO FOCUS ON SOUTH TEMPE, CHANDLER AND AHWAUTUKEE. IT'S OBVIOUSLY A SMALL COMPANY, BUT THE PERSONAL SERVICE IS A PLUS.

OUR TENANT (IN A CONDO WHICH WE RENT) CALLED COMPLAINING OF LOSS OF POWER TO CERTAIN OUTLETS AND BREAKERS FLIPPING OFF. WE CALLED THIS ELECTRICIAN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE BREAKERS WERE PROBABLY DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DESIGNED TO DO WHICH IS TO FLIP OFF WHEN CIRCUITS ARE OVERLOADED. RATHER THAN CHARGE US FOR A SERVICE CALL, HE RECOMMENDED WE INSPECT THE CONDO TO SEE IF TOO MANY THINGS WERE PLUGGED INTO ONE SERIES OF CIRCUITS. SURE ENOUGH, THE TENANTS HAD AN EXTRA MINI-REFRIGERATOR, SEVERAL HAIR DRYERS, AND A VACUUM CLEANER ALL DRAWING POWER FROM THE SAME CIRCUIT AT ONCE. THIS ELECTRICIAN IN A SHOW OF GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE TO A STRANGER, SAVED US THE EXPENSE OF A SERVICE CALL. WHEN WE REALLY NEED REPAIR, WE WILL SURELY CALL HIM AGAIN.

FAST & EFFICIENT - REPRESENTATIVE ARRIVED ON TIME, REPAIRED THE BREAKER AND CHARGED FAIRLY. WE HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAKER SINCE. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.
