?Should have hired a National outfit? Yes- if I had been properly advised, or wasn?t so committed to using a local business (because I own a small, local business), I would have avoided all of the hassle. Without the knowledge, ultimately will incur even greater cost. 1) I called Arizona Discount Movers based upon their excellent Angie?s list experience. However, my move was to Maryland, and not right away. They did advise me they could not ship to Maryland, but did not advised that loading from their firm to a national concern would cost me more. Well, ?caveat emptor?, right? 2) They did show up on the day scheduled, but not at the 7:30 ? 8:00 time, I signed their paperwork with an 11:45 start. The three workers were fast and efficient, but we ran into a snag. Because this was supposed to be a long distance move, the padding should have been paper, not cloth. After a call, the manager showed up and proposed to solve the problem ? they will rewrap at our facility ? no extra charge. Unstated was the fact that the National mover would require everything to be unwrapped and checked for damage ? so the National move would cost more. The manager did offer a discount for the problem. 3) Not all the packing was complete by quitting time ? but the heat and late start had taken its toll. Never mind ? three movers tomorrow can first finish up the packing ? right? 3) Next day, no movers at 7:30 as promised. At 8;00 a call, will arrive at 8:30. At 8:30, another call for 30-minute delay due to standard ADOT check of the truck. Actual arrival time 9:30 ? with two workers! Seems worker #3 from yesterday had warrants, so he was arrested at the ADOT stop. Now down to two workers. 4) Advised everyone, time is tight - new owners will walk-thru at 3:30 so I need to be back from the transfer of some goods to a temporary apartment by that time. Remaining two workers really turn up the effort, consume a few gallons of electrolyte drink I supplied while they toiled very hard in the 100+ heat. I could not have asked for more effort. If Arizona Discount movers had supplied a replacement worker anytime that day, the following shortcomings (haste makes waste) could have been avoided : a) electrical cords to TV?s packed elsewhere, fine buy two more the next day ($30) b) while rushing, worker hits head on light fixture globe over the now removed kitchen table, breaking same. Closing inspection in two hours. Rushed call to both realtors ? a check for $100 left with the broken fixture will suffice. Despite heroic efforts by two-man crew, I don?t make the 3:30 walk-thru. The realtors smooth things over, and the buyer graciously accepts the shortcomings in the property condition ? avoiding a delay in closing escrow. 1) My mistake ? contracting with a local mover for an out of state move. 2) Their mistakes: · poor communication ? packers did not know out of state ? would have brought paper pads · not timely? every start late · no depth ?arrested worker apparently could not be replaced over a span of 4-5 hours. 3) Is that all? NO! The same firm will ?get another shot? at my belongings when they are unwrapped and presented to the long-distance mover.

Amy set up the scheduling for exactly the size truck with 3 men that I needed. She was very pleasent, kind, helpful, and professional. Ronnie, Cesar, and Simmon met us at the facility with their large truck on time. They were all very pleasent, professonally dressed, and respectful. There were no communication problems. They pulled up to the loading dock of the storage facility without trouble, and we opened both storage rooms and developed a plan for the job. One storage room was packed with furniture and boxes stacked practically to the ceiling, so it was a little tricky to climb up there to empty it. The other room was less crowded. They handled every piece carefully, and I had confidence that they knew what they were doing. I had an itemized list of the box and furniture numbers, and they called out these numbers so I could check them off the list as they emptied the storage rooms. They brought their own refreshments, and even offered us some, since it was a very hot day. They did not stop for lunch. After the truck was loaded, they followed us as we drove to the house. They drove at a slow speed, so my furniture and boxes were not jostled, even though they were very secure in the truck. They unloaded the truck carfully and systematically, and asked where each box and each piece of furniture should go, since they were not labeled by room. They also attached two very large hutches to their bases, attached a very large mirror to a dresser, and attached the legs to my dining room table. They moved a very heavy sofa when I wanted to move it again to a better location. And removed the wrapping from the furniture. I checked the truck to be sure nothing was left behind, and nothing was. After unpacking everything I found there was absolutely no damage of any kind! My only disappointment was that since this was a morning move, and they had an afternoon move scheduled, they could not take the packing materials away with them in the truck. But this was certainly not their fault, as I did not make arrangements for this. Ronnie, Cesar, and Simmon are excellent, professional workers -- very upbeat and positive. Because of their great personalities, and hard working professionalism, this move went really well.

ADM arrived exactly on time and were wonderfully efficient and careful of my belongings. They wrapped furniture and bedding well, carefully covered hardwood floors and stairs before walking on them, were mindful not to remove items I was leaving behind for an estate sale and did all of this with maximum good cheer and courtesy. ADM advised me ahead of time that I would owe them more than the price of my Angie's List deal because of the time it would take to complete the move. Because the movers worked briskly throughout the afternoon without taking breaks, I thought the final price worked out to be very fair. The Angie's List deal saved me more than $200 over ADM's standard rates, and I was extremely pleased with the service and high level of care and attention to detail.

Our every contact with AZ Discount Movers was pleasant, professional, and thorough in follow-up. We used a coupon for a BIG DEAL from Angie's List for three hours of moving at a cost of $225 for three hours, with additional hours to be billed at $75/ hour. The workers, Jose and Youseff, were very pleasant to deal with from their first entry to our home. They arrived on time and began working very industrously, wrapping each item to be moved in padding and securing the padding to the object with wrap prior to transfer to their moving van. When they completed loading the truck, they headed off for to our new address with our car in the lead. When we arrived they repeated the process in reverse, unloading and unwrapping the furniture and placing the pieces where requested. They worked about six hours and so we paid an additional $225 as agreed. There were o additional trip charges or hidden fees. Management and the two movers have followed up with us to assure our satisfaction with the move. We would be pleased to have Jose and Youseff move us again, if the need should arise.

Epic fail. I scheduled an appointment for a 2200 sq foot move and storage flat rate quote with Jay. He failed to show up. When I called him he was apologetic and rescheduled the appointment four days later... and failed to show up again. The good news is that I will not have these flakes moving and storing my possessions. And shame on Angie's List for making me PAY to find this company. I am betting all the "reviews" below are from the office assistant.

The movers did an excellent job.

They were courteous on the phone. The gentleman verified that I would receive 3 men and a truck for the quoted price however when the men arrived the price was different. I refused to sign the paperwork until the manager was contacted to straighten out the price discrepancy. After the price was worked out and and it was the price that I was initially quoted. The men had been loading the truck from the time they arrived however I do feel that after the head mover spoke with the manager about the price the cheery attitude changed. They were not very careful wIth my furniture and damaged several items. It almost seemed intentional but I cannot say for sure. I will not use this mover again. It was a good price but it was not worth the savings.

The scheduling office was very responsive and confirmed the move time before the day scheduled move day.

I would recommend having all of your stuff ready to go and staged for easy loading to save time and expense.

I verbally contracted with them and contacted them with what my needs were. They showed up the day of the move and one of the gentleman had a bad attitude and he said I need you to initial the contract as I had did everything over the phone. I noticed that a few of the items were not correct including the rate and he told me he could not do anything about it as it would come out of his paycheck. He said there is nothing he could do about it and against better judgement I did sign the contract and then he left as he did not like the tone I used or something to get started with the work, even though I did not have a tone at all. They left me in a bad situation that day and the company never called after this situation. My brother contacted them to speak with management and a lady named Amy spoke with me and my brother and she was apologetic and said he could have offered the initial rate and she was not sure why this had happened. She did offer to give a couple of gift certificates for dinner and I thanked her for that but I told her that would not make up for the rate and the trouble I had to go through after their employee left. She said she would talk it over with her husband as she was an owner herself and get back with me the next Friday and she never got back with me.

They were very hard workers, very professional, showed up on time, they were careful movers - nothing was damaged or broken - and they had highly competitive prices.

We needed to find professional but non-expensive movers to help us with our move from a 2250 sf home to a small 1000 sf apartment in the matter of 2 days. The operator on the phone was nice and pleasant to speak with. He took our information and we were set to go with the Angie's List coupon for 2 movers and a truck for 3 hours at $225. On Moving day, they arrived early and ready to work. They came with 3 movers (which I only paid for 2), and when I asked the foreman (Ronald) about the 3rd guy he said he was working with them and not to worry about it! The guys worked tirelessly, without break loading the truck and carefully wrapping/packing things away. I asked Ronald if he wanted some water and he responded "No, time is money". Nick and Cezar worked quickly until the truck was completely packed and then moved all of our items to the apartment. Their unload was just as quick, depositing most of our items carefully into the storage items and the rest into the apartment. They took great care and pride to make sure everything was set in the right place, even when we changed our minds about where to put a particular item. They said "No Problem" and just did it. I will definitely be using them again when we move out of the apartment in a couple of months!

hey were absolutely outstanding. They worked like Trojans They were extremely fast, professional and careful. They were on time. The only thing is the coupon was for what they normally charge. But I’m not upset at all about the price because they were well worth it.

They were unprofessional, late to every appointment. The manager was rude. They didn't pack my pod correctly so I had to donate many items to Goodwill. I had a horrible experience with them. They forgot their tools . No one called me to tell me they were going to be late the first time, I had to call. Never got phone calls back and did not get the crew I requested the second time. They did not pack any of my boxes at all....Larry was not there and refused to follow up on any customer service items. I declined the items to be put in storage because I knew that people would take them before I could do that....also, he did not follow up with me to see if any items were damaged when they arrived, and yes, there was plenty of damaged items. Poor poor customer service.

The guys were all very polite and cordial, that includes setting up the appointment. It was a great experience. I would use them again, definitely - and I would recommend them.

We used ADM becuase of their reviews and their lower cost. We used their 3-hour for $225 coupon and we're hoping to get all of our large items moved in that time frame. Jay & Yousef showed up on time and talked to us about what we wanted to have done. We explained that we wanted all of the big items to go on the truck and then we'll see what space we'd have left. They were VERY accommodating. There was no pressure at all to move the rest of our items. They just said OK and got right to work. They both were fast and efficient and worked very hard the whole time. When we were coming up to the end of the big items, we asked if they could fill the truck the best they could with any other items even though we'd probably go over the three hours. Again, very accomodating. All in all, we ended up going just 45 minutes over which was just fine by us. We were thrilled with the whole process (from setting up the move date to completion of the move itself) with one exception. When it came time to pay the overage (just $56), Jay had to call it in. They also needed a hard copy impression of my credit card and signature that I paid the deposit with along with the overage. There was some sort of problem with the call into the main office and the guys had to waste about 20 minutes on the phone dealing with it. No skin off our back but it seemed odd after everything else went so smooth. The B rating on professionalism was due to this fact. We would absolutely use them again. They were great.

We have moved 15 times (both local and long distance) over the years and this move has to rank as one of the best. The two men who showed-up were very professional (carefully wrapping each piece) and wasted absolutely no time. Overall an excellent experience!

The movers were very courteous and professional and arrived on time. They took great care wrapping and padding our furniture. They also did a super job unloading it and placing it in the storage area in a manner that would not damage the furniture. This is the second time we've used this company and I highly recommend them. We intend to use them again for our out-of-state move.

At first, I was so delighted to have a trained team of highly professional movers. I had arranged for three movers, one with knowledge of piano moving (I have a baby grand piano), to move me from a two-bedroom apartment to a house a short distance away. I had advised the company that my moves (I had made many) would require a minimum of six hours and not to schedule another move later that day. This part is critical because I have found that companies almost always underestimate the time by numbers of hours. The movers came a little bit late, but called, and after a brief discussion began working. They protectively wrapped anything fragile and took almost everything (I have had past movers refuse to take anything glass, such as a table top, and televisions). Unfortunately, I moved on one of the rainiest weekends of the year, so I had them stop for a while until the rain subsided. This was not a problem. They worked quickly, expertly, and efficiently. So, after everything was packed in the truck, we were off to the house. I bought them lunch and then they started to unpack the truck at great speed. They ignored many of the labels on the boxes that specified the destination (bedroom 1, bedroom 2, storage room, etc) and started piling up boxes with the labels turned against the wall, making it difficult for me to know what was in the tower of boxes. They did ask me about certain items and placed them where directed. The piano arrived safely, although I was not happy to have the least skilled guy attach the legs. Only one item, a lamp, was broken, which they brought to my attention. I assume they dropped it. I?m not sure what happened on the unpacking end or why, all of a sudden, they were in such a rush. Usually this happens when another job is scheduled. Perhaps they had agreed to take on another job after they were on the way to the house. I?m still finding boxes in the wrong place. Bottom line: A pretty good move: great at the beginning and not so great toward the end. B+

Joe and Joe called in advance, showed up on time, and immediately got to work. They were efficient, fast, and very friendly to boot. I was amazed at their ability to negotiate the stairs and the sharp left turn at the bottom with very large furniture items - all without ever contacting any moving piece with any stationary item. Toward the end of the two hours, they moved into high gear to help move small items that we expected to have to move ourselves such as books and small boxes. All their work was quality and our furniture couldn't have been treated more carefully if we had done it ourselves. Excellent job - very pleasant experience. I would definitely use Arizona Discount Movers again.

From first calling to schedule, to the end of the process, all the employees were very warm, helpful, and acommodating. The crew was very professional, personable, punctual and careful with the belongings. The whole experience was as smooth as could be. When my mother-in-law mistakenly thought there was something missing (nothing of value), the folks from AZ Discount Movers were very responsive and helpful. My mother-in-law found where she had put the item, and all was well. I will use these movers again and will recommend them to everyone.

Kenneth and Cody were our movers and we were very impressed. These guys were friendly, professional, careful with our items. Had good personalities and senses of humor. Terrific representatives of their company. We'd use them again in a heartbeat and tell everybody we know.
