The movers(Renee D. and Jacob) were very professional.They listened .They took notice that I was on a budget and were quick and efficient.They paid attention to specifics and I liked that.To treat others like you want to be treated.

Quote over the phone did not match final invoice. I should have gotten it in writing. Less men were dispatched so job took longer and cost more. During move movers didn't disassemble furniture stating it would save time however large items were hit against walls and doors. Not having a lot of experience with moving into a new house, it didn't occur to us that door jams, corners, floors, etc. could have been covered by the movers to protect the new house from damage. This was not done. As a result, there are four places on corners and along door jams that got dinged up. We will also fix these. The guys are clearly experienced at what they do. But, perhaps their confidence led to skipping the protection of the new house. |Their communication was great - something we appreciated very much, having both had a very poor moving experience with a company several years ago. And, they were generally nice guys. If we use Arizona Discount Movers in the future, we will ensure furniture pieces are wrapped entirely, and that the new house is protected from damage.

I recently bought a house about 5 miles away from where I live and hired Arizona Discount Movers to handle all the heavy stuff and whatever would not fit in my car. I was extremely impressed with the service I received. Bruce and Joe were right on time and treated all my stuff like it was their own. Each piece was wrapped in moving blankets, taped and then shrinkwrapped to prevent damage and my mattresses were bagged before being placed on the truck. I just relocated to the area this past summer and certainly did not receive that level of care from the long-distance movers my employer assigned me! They did not coast or lollygag, so I know I only paid for the time the job actually required and compared to other movers I have used in the past the hourly rate was very competitive. I was very satisfied with the work performed and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to hire a mover.

They arrived 45 minutes ahead of schedule so I wasn't expecting them that early. Both movers were courteous and prompt. I did, however, have a couple broken items afterward. A lamp and the foot off one of my nightstands. They said they would fix it but needed Gorilla Glue so I ended up fixing it myself. I was surprised they showed up in a Budget Rental truck and not a company logo'd truck but they did the job with lots of input, touching base with me frequently and offering to do other fix it things at the end (like tightening my livingroom furniture feet which were loose. At the end we forgot about that so they didn't tighten anything. Once I paid the bill, my 5% discount was left off (Angie's List Referral) so I called and they credited my card afterward. Overall, good movers, accidents happen. They have for every move I've ever done. Update to Provider Response: I have never been contacted by the claims representative and I am planning to move again in July (just bought a house). Hmmmm...

It was good. They were pretty fast and I appreciated that.

The movers showed up on time and went right to work. They ask us want we wanted and they proceeded to do exactly as we ask. They were working so hard that I told them to take a break. They were very careful with our belongings and did not damage anything.

I'm retired US Military and have moved a lot. This was the best moving experience I've ever had. I made the arrangements with Jay over the telephone. He was clear on the pricing and offered helpful advice about moving things into storage. The movers, Bruce and Steve, handled all my belongings carefully, wrapping and padding them for protection, and didn't ding the walls or door jambs moving things out. They loaded the POD to maximize use of the space and prevent shifting in transit. When that was done they took a load of very large, heavy items to a consignment store where they carefully unloaded it for the store owner. Bruce and Steve were professional and courteous and did one heck of a job. I'll need movers next month when my house closes and I'll schedule the move around the availability of Bruce and Steve.

They were very careful to wrap everything well to prevent any damage. They did arrive very very late and we didn't finish moving until nearly midnight. The did apologize and we take some responsibility as they agreed to fit us in to their already packed schedule as a favor to us. I'm sure it is difficult to predict how long each job will take but it may be better for them to say no to taking extra jobs in the future as the men who moved us were obviously very tired and quite slow by the time they arrived to start our move. There is one dresser for which one drawer no longer fits after the move; I'm not sure how that happened as there is no visible damage.

This firm stored our daughter's furnishings for nearly three years. It was time for us to take them out of storage and deliver them to two destinations. The movers arrived early, quickly and efficiently unloaded and arranged everything. The furnishings were in absolutely pristine condition. We are 100% satisfied with Arizona Discount Movers and will use them for all of our future needs. Thank you!

I chose Arizona Discount Movers because of the ratings on Angie's List. I am glad I did. My husband and I were very anxious about our move because we had a lot of large furniture we needed to move into a basement and we were not sure we would be able to have them placed where we wanted them. We knew it was going to be a challenge. Arizona Discount Movers sent two men (Jose M. and Steve T.) for the job and they did great work. They were very careful with the our possessions and it was evident they took pride in their work. They wrapped everything and took great care in making sure nothing was destroyed during the process. Furthermore, they were very professional and were able to turn a potentially disastrous situation into a pleasant one. They were very efficient, focused and patient. They didn't make me feel bad at all when I would change my mind about where I wanted my dressers or exercise bike (I couldn't decide!). They would easily pack them back up and move them where I asked them to, ensuring that it was not a problem. They always had a great attitude and maintain a very good line of communication with us and with each other. In addition, they were very friendly. Needless to say, we got what we wanted. When they were done, they left us relieved that the job that we were not looking forward to was over and done smoothly. I would recommend them in a heartbeat! Thank you Jose and Steve!

They were significantly cheaper than any of the other 9 companies I called. They were available on very short notice. They were on time and finished on time. The crew worked hard and everything went good.

The estimate was given over the phone. Crew called when they were on their way and showed up right on time. After a quick tour of the house Rene, Jacob and William got to work and didn't stop till the truck was fully loaded. They did an outstanding job. Not one wall or one piece of furniture was damaged. They were very patient with us and did everything we asked of them. They even dismantled our swing set and trampoline and rebuilt them at the new house. We also had some furniture that had to be taken to another location for a garage sale. Everything was done with care and precision. I would definitely use them again.

We moved to Surprise from Flagstaff on 12/11/13. To add to the ordinary stress of packing and loading, the temperature was -11 that morning and the diesel truck wouldn't start. It had to sit in the sun for several hours to get warmed up. So by the time we got to our new home we were ultra-frazzled and not looking forward to undoing what we had just done. We had originally agreed that two men from Arizona Discount Movers would be enough to do the job, but we were nervous, so we called and asked them to send four movers. They said "No problem". (two movers is $70/hr, four are $100/hr) Right on time Ronnie, Gabe, Clint and Tyler drove up and immediately went to work. All I did was tell them what furniture went in what rooms. They read the labels listing what was in the boxes and put them all in the right places. After all three vehicles were unloaded, they asked if they could help us with anything else. Could they help hang an elk head? Ronnie said "Sure" they could do everything but make the hole in wall. The whole job, even with the elk head and helping to straighten and clean up the rented moving van, took them one hour and thirty-five minutes. Plus, we met four fine gentleman, who know their work and how to soothe really stressed out people. The price was very reasonable based on the way the job was done and on quotes we got elsewhere. We are happy to have found AZ Discount Movers through Angie's List.

After the remodeling was done on my house they moved the furniture back in. There was some damage done to some paintings and some furniture while said personal effects were being moved and stored. However, in response to items that I claimed that were missing particularly kitchen items such as kitchen utensils, dishes, crystal, etc. those items turned up in another storage area that I had packed up myself personally and moved to that said storage area and forgot about. I thought that the kitchen utensils, and dishes and plates had been moved by Arizona Discount Movers. This was wrong, I made a mistake and I would like to apologize to Arizona Discount movers for any previous statements I had made concerning this matter. I would also like to apologize to Angie's List for the same thing.

I was looking online for a moving company that could move our friend, who's husband is hospitalized with cancer. I wanted to make sure I picked a company that would give her excellent service to lessen her burden. After reviewing companies, going on their websites, reviewing Better Business files I decided to join Angie's List to help me narrow down my selection. That is where I found Arizona Discount Movers. They had an A rating with the BB, an A rating with Angie's List and received the Angie's List Super Service Award for 2012. I contacted them and from my first call to Michelle, to schedule the move (less than one week to move) to our last call from Gary ,the scheduler, to confirm the job was done to our satisfaction, we got nothing but EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. Amy the owner went above and beyond to make sure the move was painless for our friend. Bruce and Nigel, the movers were on time, professional and did a FASTASTIC job. I chose AZ Discount Movers based on the recommendation of my realtor because my house sold to the first person who viewed it and I knew that with a short escrow period time was of the essence. Because my realtor knew of several people in my community (Solera in south Chandler), who had used the movers without any incidents, I did not read the reviews for AZ Discount Movers on Angie's List; I took the word of my realtor instead. I scheduled my move without difficulty and paid my deposit. The company called prior to the move to reconfirm the date and time. The movers were approximately 1/2 hour late but had called me at the expected time of arrival to tell me they were on their way to the Bellerive Place house. Billy, the team lead and his co-worker came into the house and Billy and I walked through the entire house and garage to make clear what they were moving. I had some boxes of fragile items that I moved in my vehicle. They did no packing since I had all the boxes ready to load. Billy was so hyper that I was concerned; did he just have too much caffeine or was he just naturally hyper? His movements were frenetic and he literally was like a jumping bean. Because I did not think he would pay particular attention if I just talked to him, I asked Billy to walk to my office with me and at that time I pointed out to him that my office furniture was new, never used and asked him to take whatever measures necessary to ensure that the desk, 2 file cabinets and double door glass bookcase arrived at the new residence without a mark on them. I reiterated this a number of times as they began to take furniture out of the house. I did not watch them pack the truck but based on the amount of damage to the desk, both file cabinets and the bookcase I think it's safe to assume they were not wrapped properly. To think that all 4 pieces suffered damage that will require a furniture restoration expert boggled my mind considering how I made it a point to ask that those pieces be handled very carefully. Once the office furniture was in place at the new residence I saw the damage on the desk and called Billy's attention to it. He then wet his index finger and rubbed it over one of the damaged areas and stated that sometimes a person could find markers the same color as the furniture and that should cover up the damage. I replied that markers don't fill in indentations in real wood and that didn't seem like a feasible course of action to me. In addition to my office furniture they damaged the following: 1.) My bedframe. 2.) One of my nightstands. 3.) The pulls on all of my bedroom furniture (I believe the metal pulls reacted to the shrink wrap which was applied first instead of after a moving blanket was covering the bedroom furniture. The pulls were brushed silver and after I looked at them they had striations and rough spots on them which I could not remove. They need to be replaced on all pieces of the bedroom suite. 4.) My coffee table. 5.) The console table that matches my living room furniture. 6.) My ironing board ended up in two pieces since they compressed it so much that it snapped the rod that allows you to raise and lower the board. 7.) The base of my 42" plasma television has two pieces broken out of it. They loaded the television in the back seat of the moving truck without any covering and it ended up scuffed. The pieces broken out of the base must have happened when they were bringing it into the new residence since I found the pieces on the living room floor. 8.) My portable Singer sewing machine was dropped and one corner of the base of the case is shattered. The cover still fits over the machine but the latch on that side is no longer useable which means someone would need to be strong enough to put their hands under the base of the machine to lift it. It is quite heavy and unless someone has a place where it can be left out all the time, it is not practical to keep. I then called the company and spoke with the man who handles claims. He sent me a claim form and let me know that pictures would be very helpful. I took several pictures and used Certified Mail to send the claim form, the photos and a sheet of paper showing the other pieces of wood that I had found in the house but couldn't tell where they came from. AZ Discount Movers signed for the package on October 7, 2013. I waited for about 10 days and heard nothing from them. Then I had a voicemail message stating that the needed additional information on the make/model of the television so they could order a replacement base, more information on the drawer pulls for my bedroom furniture, and more information about the sewing machine. I sent him an email with all the information he asked for plus a picture of the drawer pulls and a picture of my complete office furniture set. I found those photos on the Macy's web site since that was where the furniture was purchased. Then I didn?t hear from him again. I called and asked if there was anything else they needed. He said that his boss was on vacation and he would have the final say on the issue. I was very unsettled by this because it was delaying resolution of the issue and they hadn't bothered to send an email or leave a voicemail to inform me that his bosses' absence was causing the delay. He didn't tell me when he expected his boss to return to the office and could provide no timeline for working out the claim. I informed him that I was anxious to get the process moving since I could not settle into the new residence because he had mentioned that it was possible his furniture restoration vendor might need to remove some of the furniture from the house to make the repairs. I told him that I would prefer to use my own furniture restorer because I trusted him. He let me know that they had a person they used and said they would have him, Tim, call me. I never heard from him and had no way to contact him. This has just been such a frustrating experience. I wrote Jay an email on November 15, 2013 (see below) and explained that I wanted a full refund for the move so that I could have my furniture repaired, I would like the base of my television shipped to my house and a few other things. I gave them a time frame to the end the following week and I never heard a word from them. I informed them that I would involve a third party negotiator if necessary. I stated in my email that we weren't talking about used or second hand furniture but in fact, the damage was to pieces of furniture that overall cost thousands of dollars. I feel that I have more than accommodated the requests for information on the claim. When I asked about the movers he said that the workers come and go very quickly, which to me implied that they didn?t have much training. I am very upset about this whole ordeal. I don?t understand how a company with such outstanding reviews would do such a terrible job. I would not recommend their services under any circumstances. This is the email I sent to Arizona Discount Movers. I have received no response of any kind from the company and particularly from the man working on my damage claim. November 15, 2013 Dear Jay, I've reached the end of my patience and expect to see my claim finalized by the end of next week. If you can't see your way clear to meet that deadline, we can bring in a 3rd party negotiator. Your office has had my paperwork for 5+ weeks and even with a heavy workload I can't imagine it taking this long to assess the claimed damage ~ it's not complicated. Because of the damage to the office furniture I have not been able to arrange the office to accommodate working in here. Basically, I have not been able to settle into my new residence and have had to live with this disarray since July ~ much too much time has passed and I don't understand why this claim is being handled so slowly. We aren't discussing inexpensive, particle board furniture but in fact, between the damaged living room, bedroom and office pieces there are thousands of dollars involved. I have all receipts if you need to see them. Here is what I expect from AZ Discount Movers: 1.) A full refund of my moving charges to pay for the furniture restoration. 2.) Replacement of my television base which should be shipped to my home address. 3.) Reimbursement of the cost of a new ironing board; I have the receipt if you need it. 4.) Funds to replace the drawer pulls on all my bedroom furniture (why didn't they put a clean moving blanket over the wood and then shrink wrap the piece? That's the correct method; how did they not know this?). They treated each piece of wood furniture the same way; shrink wrap and then either attach a strap or in some cases they may have thrown a blanket over the piece. I will use the refund from Arizona Discount Movers to bring in my own furniture restoration expert. Besides, I have not heard from your restoration person and he has had more than enough time to touch base with me. I am also aware that you must assume responsibility for the moving team I had on that date. The team lead was clearly not quite right based on his erratic behavior and his non-stop talking along with his frenetic movements. Had to make a last minute change to the moving date and time. They made the adjustments to my pickup date and time without any issue. They were early for the start time. Due to an issue on my end I had to call them back to move additional items and again they were there on time with very little notice. great job

It was two guys who came and they charged by the hour. They knew they were getting close to the hour agreed upon so they made sure they didn’t go over so I wouldn’t be charged extra which I really appreciated. They hustled, but they didn’t sacrifice quality. They did a very good job.

Three men with a large truck took a total of 4 hours to load and unload all the furniture. They wrapped anything that would get dirty, mattress etc and anything with doors or drawers. They were very polite and helpful. They never got upset when there would be a change of room...husband and I had different ideas what would go in what room. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing help. We did a similar move last year. We rented a truck and hired 2 guys to help with the big stuff. It took longer and we paid more over all. Plus my husband didn't have to lift anything. I would definitely recommend using Arizona Discount Movers. I will use them when I need to move again.

Excellent - they were right on time, easy to work with and very reasonable. Clint helped with the move to storage the first time a month or two ago, and he was back to help this time along with Bruce and Joe C. All excellent!
