Description of Work: Excellent service! Serviceman was on time, efficient and pleasant. The cost to fix my dishwasher was so reasonable (plus I got a discount for using Angie's list), I had him fix my garbage disposal! Will most Definately use them again!

Description of Work: My washing machine was making a loud noise during the wash cycle. I called Don and he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone! This is an awesome appliance repair co. I have used them in the past and have recommended them to friends. Overall experience has been A+ on all accounts.

Description of Work: Our Maytag Refrigerator quit so we did a search on Angie's List and picked Affordable. We discovered the Fridge failure at 4:30pm and they were here by a little after 5 and gone by 6pm. They replaced the computer board, defrosted the unit and had everything back together in no time, and gave us a 15% discount for belonging to Angie's List. Can't get any better than that.

Description of Work: Doug came this morning to repair my 10 year old clothes dryer. He was very efficient and friendly. I appreciated that he showed me the parts that needed to be replaced and why as well as what the cost would be from his price book. It was also helpful to me to get the Angie's List discount. He began checking the dryer out right away. When he opened the top and front, he could see that the belt was worn and slipping. He put in a new one along with a new idler and support rollers. After putting the dryer back together, he tested it and could see it was working properly. Doug then wrote the invoice and went over it with me before leaving. He did a very good job; it was a relief to me to have a good experience with an appliance repair.

Description of Work: quick professional; response, in fact got two calls from two technicians. showed up on time, called before arrival and did a great job also gave great advise on not throwing shoes loose in the dryer but use the rack so it doesn't losen the ribs that move the cloths around.

Description of Work: I noticed water dripping from the freezer/refrigerator and searched on Angies List for a reliable service company. Affordable Appliance Repair had an impressive list of excellent reviews. I called them to report the problem and they had a repairman (Carlos) come to my home later that afternoon. He recognized the problem quickly and replaced the "motherboard" that apparently burned out. Although it was an expensive part, I was very impressed with the ability, knowledge, and professionalism shown by Carlos. I would definitely use their service again, if needed.

Description of Work: Our Maytag washer that we bought in 1996 broke down for the first time. I called Affordable and scheduled a call for the next day. The phone interaction was courteous and professional. The technician called ahead to announce his arrival and was on time. The problem was diagnosed as a burnt out motor, and the estimated price looked a lot like buying a new washer, so I declined to repair it. In anticipation of this outcome, I had already looked up some possible replacement washers. The technician offered his professional opinion on several models that I mentioned, and urged me to stay away from one model that was on sale at that time, both due to poor reliability and very expensive parts. He also showed me how two different models that I was considering that suffered in price by about $200 were the same inside and used the same parts. As a result I picked an Amanda washer from Costco.com at a price that included delivery, installation, new hoses, and removal ofthe old washer. So far all is going well with the new washer. I very much appreciated the advice, which was both courteous and freely given. I especially appreciated being steered away froma model that hada seductive sales price, but was one to avoid (online reviews of this model was split between A and F grades).

Description of Work: Our ice maker was not working and a door panel needed to be ordered as well. We were also waiting for new stainless panels since Oct. 2012 and never received them. It turns out that the ice maker did not need to be replaced as he said it did. When my wife asked about the door panels , he said the manufacturere shipped them by UPS and they got damaged. My wife said she would contact Sub Zero and down the list of vendors who were unable to provide the doors. Many the appliance repair man took offense by what my wife said and walked outside and called the Scottsdale police. He said he was threatened by what she said . The police came and that waqs the end of it. They could not believe that he called the police on her.She is diabled and not well and would not hurt anybody.

Description of Work: What a disappointment. Just about every company I have ever found on Angie's list has been spectacular, but I guess a few slip through. We called to have a technition come out to fix our refrigerator that is not working properly. At first they seemed helpful when after we contacted them, they asked if the refrig was still under warranty and we responded we didn't know. He told us to call the place we bought it and they would come fix it under warranty. The problem was we were not as much concerned about it being paid under warranty as we were to have our refrigerator fixed as the food was getting warm. We called back and got voice mail and left a message that we would like them to come fix it anyway because time was of the essence and we would pay for it regardless. After a day we got no response so we called again and got voice mail again and left another message that we would like to move forward on getting a technition to repair the refrigerator regardless if we had to pay for it because our food was warm and we didn't want to wait to find out if it was under warranty or not. Again, no return call. The major disappointment here doesn't have to do with whether they do a good job on service because they never let it get that far. I own 3 businesses and customers are king and our #1 priority is to ALWAYS return customers calls even if it is to tell them we could not do work for them. No one likes to be ignored and they certainly did that to us so we are warning all of you out there considering Affordable Appliance Repair to BEWARE.

Description of Work: They have been extremely thorough and although they have been out to take care of our refrigerator multiple times to determine the correct diagnosis, they only charged me for only 1 service visit. They are extremely reasonable and the repairs in addition to the 1x service visit (even though they've been here 3x) is amazing. I definitely recommend them as professional, honest, reliable and affordable.

Description of Work: a few days before Thanksgiving with guests coming our kitchen exhaust fan broke. No cooking without it. Called several places but no one could come. Affordable was recommended .I called . They came immediately. diagnosed a broken part but could not get one before Thanksgiving so we agreed on a new fan and they put it in for not much more than the repair would have been and did it the next day. Saved our holiday. Would definitely use them again

Description of Work: My washer stopped working--he checked it out and honestly told me that the control board was burnt out (I just moved into this house a few months ago and didn't know how old the washer and dryer were. Turned out they were original to the house: 11 years old; therefore, I did not repair the washer as the repair was as expensive as a new machine. The man was very honest with me, which I appreciate.

Description of Work: Replaced the timer on my Kenmore washer. Bill came in at more than $100 higher than estimate. There was a trip charge that was usual - then there was a diagnostic charge that was the same price. Diagnostic ? They did take 15% off the bill ( which ended up being the diagnostic charge ), but I still ended up paying over $300 to fix one part of a washer that I can buy NEW for $400. I was sleeping when the tech arrived to do the repair - my wife was with him. And the part ( new thru Sears parts dept. ) is $151. If I didn't want to get the repair done it still would have cost me over $100 ( trip charge and diagnostic ). You be the judge.

Description of Work: Very professional company with excellent communication. I called and the gentleman I spoke to was friendly. I had someone come out the same day to look at my stove and washing machine. The tech (Jerry) called to let me know he was in route and showed up on time. He tracked down the issue with the stove and troubleshot my washer. I ended up not fixing the washer and Jerry fixed my stove. He had to order a couple of parts and then showed up exactly when he said he would a couple of days later to install them. Overall, a very positive transaction and I'd call them again.

Description of Work: We needed an ice maker replaced or repaired in our 3 year old refrigerator. I called and the owner himself answered the phone. He was courteous and said he'd have the tech that was in our area give me a call to set up an appointment. Folks, Chris was our technician and he was AWESOME. From the time I made the phone call (around 9am) to 12 noon...our brand new ice maker was installed and the deed was done!!! 3 hours!!!! Now I realize this was due to another customer canceling their appt that morning, but still!! He gave me a discount and waived the service call fee!!! I will NEVER wonder about who to call for an appliance issue again! Affordable Appliance Repair is true to its name!! :) Very, very happy customers here!

Description of Work: Doug came out the day I called. Our ice maker door dispenser was not functioning. He immediately found the problem (us). We failed to use the dispenser enough to keep it operational. It had become frozen up. He kindly cut the service charge for us since we are a frequent customer of theirs over the years. He also adviced me how to occassionally clean and clear the ice bucket. Excellent service as always.

Description of Work: After checking reviews on Angie's List, I called Affordable Appliance Repair to service my warm Subzero refrigerator which had just had the thermostat replaced (twice) by another repair service. Their level of communication was outstanding, they arrived when they said they would and after one look determined there was probably no problem with the thermostat. It had been improperly installed. A wiring change was what was needed. For the price of a service call I've got a cold and reliable fridge and Affordable Appliance Repair has a new client.

Description of Work: He came out to determine the problem with the washing machine. Told me how much it would cost to fix it, and I told him not to because I would rather replace it since the cost for a refurbished washing machine were about the same as fixing it. Spent $55 for service call.
