They were very punctual and very good. They did an excellent job and were clean and neat. They were nice to work with.

The most honest repair firm I have ever used. This was the third time I called them. The first two times they advised me that the factory should pay for the repair even though it was out of warranty. They were right saving me over $1,000 even thought it cost them the business. This time, it was out of warranty and they did a good job of fixing it within 24 hours.

We have a Fisher-Pakel dishdrawer - unusual, and usually a nightmare to get serviced. I called Affordable specifically because they indicated they worked on Fisher-Pakel. The workman came out, fixed the problem promptly, and the dishwasher has worked fine for several weeks. Good experience.

Don came at the time we had agreed on and the washing machine worked, of course. He said he knew what it was and that in time the motor would quit; but, in the meantime, there was no danger of fire or anything if we continued to use it. He charged us zip, nada, nothing, and told us to call him when it quit. This kind of service is unheard of these days!

We called Affordable because we were having an issue with our Whirlpool double wall oven. After calling Whirlpool and asking them why the digital display would only last four years they told us that there might be a recall, but then assured us that our model didn't have the "problem". Ugh. Affordable was extremely prompt with the call back to set up an appointment (actually called on a holiday if I remember correctly). When the service tech was on their way, they gave a very narrow window regarding the time they would be arriving, and when they ran into traffic on the way, they called to let my wife know, and they still arrived within the window. Great communication for sure. The service tech brought all the parts they though might be needed and were able to quickly and completely diagnose the issue and fix it.

He came out the same day I called exactly at the time he said he would (after an additional call from him saying he was on the way). He did what I expected he would and visually explained the problem with the ice maker before replacing it. We were very satisfied and would gladly recommend Don to anyone needing service.

I have been having trouble with my freezer in my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator - ice maker was overflowing, there was a pool of ice forming at the bottom of the freezer and a fine frost on everything. I had another company here to look at which was awful. They quoted me over $400 to replace the ice maker alone and said it would be about $100 to try and diagnose the other issues to start. The guy was rude, dirty and unprofessional. I sent them packing after having to pay the $70 trip charge. I called Affordable after seeing them on the List on New Year's day. Jerry called me first thing the next morning and was at the house by that afternoon. He was an hour late, but he only gave a 2 hour window of arrival and it was short notice. So I didn't mind that. Jerry was very professional and did a great job. He had all the parts with him and was able to get everything working. He cleaned up the mess in the freezer and left things looking good. He even called the next day to make sure everything was working correctly. I was very impressed and felt comfortable having him in the house. I would highly recommend.

I have a rental property in Arizona and called Affordable Appliance from Chicago. They we very informative and called me to give details about what needed to be done, etc. They were very timely and efficient and I appreciate the great service. My tenants are happy and I recommend their services.

I called this company for help with my washing machine. Don asked me questions over the phone to determine what the problem might be, gave me a suggestion to try & told me to call him back if the problem persisted. It worked and I am grateful for Don's knowledge, professionalism and integrity - anyone else would have automatically arranged a service call & THEN asked questions and charged me for the same result. If I have a problem with my washing machine again or with any other appliance I will absolutely call Don, and I will recommend his company to anyone in need of appliance repair. I am very impressed.

Our 6 year old Whirlpool refrigerator would not cool. Don came out and diagnosed and repaired on the same visit. He was punctual, professional and cost effective.

I thought my heating element had burned out. I looked on the internet and found out this part would cost me $65, but I didn't really want to wait for the piece to arrive, etc... When Don arrived, he checked the heating element, but it was fine. It turns out the problem was a power cord that had had a jolt of power surge through it and it had been fried. He replaced that and the dryer has been running fine. The only annoyance is the the estimate was 135 for a part that would cost me $65 and the final bill was still $135 for a part that would have cost me $10. Hmmmm... So, I gave him an overall 'A' because he did a good job, I'm happy with his work, and this is the grade that counts. But shouldn't the final cost been lower?

Offered to visit next day and since we were not available, arranged visit as soon as we could accommodate (given our work schedule). Jerry was personable, professional and informative. First visit was to assess problem. Seconded visit was to fix problem. He deducted the price of the original service call from the total price when the work was done. He was able to obtain needed parts and complete the work in an extremely timely fashion. Jerry was helpful and not at all pushy, offering insight as to advantages and disadvantages of fixing vs. replacement and regarding replacement of pipes. Reasonable warranty provided. No more leaks and works like a charm!

Called Saturday am. He came out same day and fixed everything.

He was very honest. He must have a lot of integrity. He didn't want to recommend something if it wasn't necessary. He was very timely in responding to me.

Don arrived at the time he said he would. Knew immediately what the problem was in the refrigerator's freezer compartment. Advised him ice maker was not working as well as the fan. He left to get parts, returned within 15 minutes and replaced fan and ice maker. Entire repair didn't take over two hours. Very reasonable price considering two parts had to be replaced. Very satisfied and will use Don again for any large appliance repair.

Repair was as promised and promptly provided.

About the 2nd of July we discovered milk in the refridge was bad before it's expiration date. Previously the fridge kept milk a week or more past the date. I put in a digital thermometer and discovered the temp was up to 45 degrees!! This was puzzling because the freezer worked fine. The fridge is about 10-11 years old, so I was going to just buy a new one but had no luck finding competent salespeople or finding a fridge in the brand I wanted in the size I wanted without an icemaker. On the 4th of July afternoon I emailed another repair shop that was on Angie's list but they didn't respond (which didn't surprise me being a holiday) but they didn't respond on Saturday morning either (and still haven't responded to the email almost a week later) so then I called Affordable (next on the list) and got Don. He was still on vacation that day but said he would come out the next day between 1-3 and he did. Fortunately the fridge never got above about 45 so we didn't lose everything in it ( veggies etc. still good ). We were very pleased with Affordable's response and service. Price was reasonable especially considering coming out on Sunday afternoon. Don saved me several hundred bucks by fixing this fridge instead of me having to get a new one. When this fridge quits again I will immediately call Don fer shure :)

Refrigerator and freezer were not at proper cooling/freezing temps. Called on Sat morning and Jerry came to the house that afternoon as promised. Don, I believe, wasn't available. He diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately. He deiced, drained, and replaced the defrost thermostat. The whole process took over 2 hours, but, the charge remained as quoted. The deicing created a lot of water which he cleaned up as he went along. He was friendly and professional. He answered all my questions.

I noticed my ice was melting and my refrigerator wasn't cooling, and immediately started calling around. After several companies told me they couldn't be out until the next day (not good, as it is Summer in Phoenix!), I called Affordable Appliance Repair and was elated when the gentleman told me they could come out in less than three hours. He arrived exactly when he said he would (at the start of the 1-hour time window) and very quickly diagnosed the problem. He had the part in his truck and had replaced it within just a few minutes. After checking his work and turning the refrigerator back on, he discovered the fan was working (and the refrigerator was cooling) but the fan (a new part, not a rebuild) was making a slight clanging noise. He left the fan in, as he didn't have a second part in the truck, and arranged with me a time the next day to correct the noisy fan and replace it with a different one. Again, he arrived promptly the next day, and very quickly replaced the noisy fan with another, quiet, new fan. The rep. (I wish I'd gotten his name!) was very nice, polite, cleaned up after himself, and prompt. I'm so happy I didn't lose everything in my refrigerator and freezer! I'll definitely call them first next time!

Overall it went extremely well except my dog Sterling did not like Jerry infringing upon his territory so he had to be banished while repair work was under way. Jerry started with the "simplest fix" hoping that it would solve the problem. After thawing the water line there was still no water coming to the machine so he decided to pull it out away from the wall. When he did, we found water puddled under the refrigerator caused by a break in the quarter inch plastic tubing. The plastic had gotten hot and brittle from being in too close proximity to the compressor.(Poor design). The bad section of tubing was cut out and the water tube reconnected to the refrigerator. Jerry took the ice-maker back to his shop to check it out. He said that the refrigerator manufacturer no longer made an ice machine that was of good quality and he has had success on other repairs using an after market replacement. Jerry returned the next morning (Friday) and installed the new ice-maker which is cranking out cubes like crazy. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased to get a follow up call from Jerry on Saturday to see if everything was working okay.

I called Affordable based on Angie's List reviews, and because they were located in my area. I was able to schedule a repair that day. I requested the advertised "estimate over the phone," and got a very straightforward response ($95 - $190 depending on how many times they had to take the pump out, clean the drain and reassemble until all the clog was gone). The repair took longer than they expected (apparently my washer pump is a little more difficult to get to). But our final bill was only $95. We were very pleased with the job, the service, and the cost. Will definitely put this company on our preferred vendor list (although since I won't be spinning any more bath mats; hopefully we won't have to call again for a while!)

Don is very professional and explained what he was doing. The whole process took only about 1/2 hr. He even took the time to explain what needed to be done if the situation repeated itself or the aperture failed. I was pleased with his work and professionalism. He even showed up early.

When I called, I left a message and got a call back from owner very soon. I scheduled an appointment and he arrived on time. He diagnosed the problem, retrieved parts and installed them all within about 90 minutes. He was very professional and his rates seemed very fair. I'll definitely call this company for any future appliance repair.
