This is the second time we have hired Joe to straighten out our computer systems temperamental attitude. We are a busy veterinary practice and when labels don't print, emails don't go out, printers don't communicate and all sorts of funny business starts with our system the entire staff is on edge. Joe came out promptly and solved the issues the same day, then came back the next day to finish. We are happy with his expertise, his respect of our business and clients, his friendliness and his efficiency. We will call him again when the computers go whacky!

My computer caught a virus and the search engine had been taken over and would default to one which I did not choose. I tried every remedy I could think of however the problem persisted. I found Joe on Angie's List and based on the great reviews contacted him. We set a time that he could remotely check my computer. Joe was very prompt and professional. He downloaded the software needed to check the computer and resolve the issue. He further took the time to explain it to me, and how to prevent it from happening again. Throughout the process he explained everything that he was doing and why he was doing it in such a manner that I was able to follow along. Well worth the money and I would certainly use Joe again without hesitation.

It was fine. We still had to take the computer back to the shop a little bit later. She did some stuff that lasted for a little bit. It was the same price as the deal. The price was reasonable. Her professionalism was pretty good.

The computer is running like new. He also updated the security for my computer as well. This is the second time that I've used Joe; the first time he did a fantastic job on our personal computer. Joe's always available and returned our calls promptly. I can recommend Joe without hesitation.

Joe knocked it out of the park and did so in less than an hour! I could not be more satisfied. Joe is easy to work with; I think this is the fifth or sixth time I've used him.

Joe was very professional and unhurried. He addressed problems that I was unaware of in addition to correcting those I did know about. I was initially disappointed that he was a remote provider (lesson to self...read the fine print) but his service was efficient and thorough. He responded to my contact email immediately and the service was provided just a few hours after I purchased it online. I will contact him again when I need computer assistance.

Unfortunately, Joe does not offer the level of recovery that my disk drive required so he referred me. He did not charge me anything to test the drive and diagnose the problem. He was helpful, informative, and did it all in a timely manner. I will not hesitate to use his services in the future. I trust him to do whatever work I may need and know he will be honest about what the problem is and believe he will charge a fair price. I highly recommend his services.

Joe replied promptly and sent me a Word document with all that he could/would do. Unfortunately, I did not notice that he was in another state so I decided to cancel the service. Regardless, Joe showed himself to be professional, responsive and helpful in getting my refund. I would recommend a person like Joe Shipley anytime!!

Once again Joe has saved me. I found him on Angie's List a couple of years ago or so when my local guy changed jobs. He called and he helped me get online with him and fixed my many problems; it took him hours but he was very patient and let me ask questions as I watched him work. Since then he is my go to guy. In March I called him and he felt my hard drive was dying. He had a friend confirm it for me before I had it replaced. Recently, I noted my IE kept crashing (I must have IE due to my work) and I couldn't fix it no matter how much I read. Also, start up and general processing were getting slower and slower (I have a fast processor and 8 GB Ram). Time to call Joe. Once again he eliminated all my unneeded & unwanted stuff that slows it as well as the settings causing crashes. When we signed off, my computer was restarting much faster and processing as I expect it to. Also, I couldn't get IE to crash no matter where I went. I have Joe on "speed dial" and so should you. FYI, we live on opposite coasts and have never met.

He did a fantastic job. He cleaned out our computer and it's running wonderfully. His pricing is very fair. He works remotely.

Excellent! He is intelligent and efficient, has very good interpersonal skills, resolves problems quickly and is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him to all.

My office contacted Joe via another Angie's list referral. He called the office within minutes. My office manager handled all the communication with Joe. He knew what to do, how to do it and did it quickly. He was intelligent, kind, professional and very concerned that our problems be fixed. He called back on October 23 to be sure all the repairs and connections were working. He was great and I highly recommend Joe!

Joe is a real good guy . He is very willing to spend the time needed to get things right. A pleasure to work with, honest people.

Joe is fantastic! We first used him about three years ago. We found him in Anglie's list. He did such a good job of getting rid of the virus on our machine, we have been trouble free until last week.

It took about one hour to clear my computer of the bugs which had infected it. This is the third time I have used this service and my son has used him as well. Joe gets the job done with zero with no funny business. He is thorough, competent and pleasant to work with. I recommend him highly.

Joe was very easy to work with and explained as he went. I do have computer knowledge, but not in-depth in the tech part, and Joe answered my questions as we went through my computer concerns. He had great tips for my back-up system and added a great search feature to my laptop. Also showed me how to run the clean-up tools on my own. I would use Joe's services in the future if I run into any other computer issues. I also like the ease of the phone and over the computer help and I could see what work he was doing and ask questions as he worked.

My daughter's two year old Toshiba laptop was having problems with the screen turning gray with black stripes in it. I called Joe and talked to him about it and he told me that it was most likely one of three things that was wrong with it. I dropped it off at Joe's house on Friday, August 21st, and even though the laptop needed a new screen Joe had it repaired by Monday, August 24th. I was very please the whole way through the process and felt like Joe knew what he was doing and did a great job.

Mr. Shipley provided competent and professional service as always...I have used his services in the past with good results. Since I have used Mr. Shipley more than once for computer assistance that should speak to my opinion of services.

Joe is very knowledgable about computers and their operating systems. I have used him in the past and was very satisfied. This time I called him early in the morning and he returned my call within three hours. He is very patient and gladly answers any questions as he examines the issues causing the problem(s). He offers easy tips for keeping the computer running smoothly after he has corrected the problems. I highly recommend him.

Joe answered my call immediately. He was polite, and pleasant to talk to. He took control of the computer and since I have a background as a computer analyst/ project manager, he explained everything he did. He used a very systematic approach and resolved the malware issues, removed unnecessary programs , and cleaned up the start menu. It took him just under 2 hours, but the system is running like new. I was dreading the idea of packing it up and taking it somewhere, where they would keep it an unknown amount of time. This worked out perfectly.

I called Joe late one evening, thinking that I would leave a message and hear back from him in the morning. He called me back that same evening! I was very pleasantly surprised. He told me that he would call me at 11am EST to solve the problem and was right on time. I was on the phone while he took a look at my computer remotely, doing a very thorough job of eliminating all potential viruses and re-setting a few of the standard settings. After looking to repair Office 2007, I suggested we just pay for the upgrade and Joe helped me select the right package and get me started with a Microsoft technician (who I am sad to say was not nearly as efficient as Joe). We were on the phone for 3 hours and Joe only charged me for 2. My regular IT guy does not know it yet, but he has just been replaced.

Joe logged onto my desktop and laptop after I described the problem I was having with e-mails that were stranded on one device and thus not readable on my other devices. I contacted him by e-mail and he first offered general advice at no charge for things to check that may solve the problem. When this didn't solve the problem he logged onto my devices and spent time determining the problem. It was late in the day and he wanted to consult an associate that was not available at the time. He scheduled a call for the following day and the phone rang at the exact time with his associate on the line with Joe in a three way call. The associate immediately ascertained the problem and Joe finished up with the solution. He then gave me the option of completing some of the follow up detail work so as to save me money on the hourly fee. A problem that Time Warner caused that numerous calls to their tech help could not be fixed was fixed by Joe Shipley. I also tried Microsoft paid software support and they couldn't fix it either in two tries.

I'd worked for hours trying to resolve a problem uploading photos from Lightroom to SmugMug.com. Joe readily responded to my call for help at 7 PM. Through his expertise the problem was quickly identified. I found Smart Ideas by Joe Shipley to be professional, effective, and reasonably priced. Joe will be my go to for IT problems in the future!
