It went really well. Because of the extent of my problem, he had to take the computer with him to work on it but returned within and hour to an hour and a half. He powered it back up and it's been running fine since.

The experience was outstanding! It took me a minute to get my act together, but when I first sent Joe an email, I got a response within minutes! Once I got my schedule together, I got all of my things to him and he ran into a few technical issues and he solved those without any extra costs to me. He is a very nice and professional individual. I wanted to have a blue ray installed, but due to the thin profile of my laptop, it took some modification to the new blue ray player to make that work, but he did it! I would highly recommend Joe to anyone with computer issues! I will definitely use him in the future if I need any more help!

It seemed to work very well. I stayed on the line with him and he guided me through it. The only concern was that he was able to get into my computer from his computer. It was a little disturbing to me. But he didn’t fool around with any of my files. I didn’t initially think that it was going to be done over the phone. People should know that it is an over the phone service and that he does get into their computer to do the checkup and repair. The machine did run faster after that. He spent plenty of time with and he didn’t seem rushed. He did impress me. At one point we were interrupted and he told me that he would call me back. He did call me back within 5 minutes. I was afraid that I would never hear from him again but he did call me right back. I might not use him again because I now know a lot about computers now than I did a year ago; I can handle the stuff myself.

Purchased the big deal computer tune up on a Thursday morning. Joe e-mailed me promptly which I followed up with a phone call. Joe explained his remote computer procedure and the time saving tip of following the instructions attached to his e-mail. We set up an appointment for later that afternoon. Very clear instructions made the downloads and scans easy (took less than an hour with my computer). Joe called when promised and was patient while I expressed my concerns about spyware/possible hackers. My daughter was a victim of credit card fraud and I was concerned it might be a result of using the desktop computer. The good news is that my computer was secure. The bonus is that Joe cleaned up my computer, made my computer faster, and taught me how to run scans to prevent future hacking. Well worth the $49.00 charge. Joe even spent an extra 10 minutes on the phone with me, above and beyond the hour included with the big deal, at no charge! Would highly recommend him!

I would not have signed up for this had I known it was not an in person vistit. I called him and he was very nice. but i did not use the service.

Technician remoted into my father's laptop, cleaned up all the garbage that builds up over time and configured the printer to run from his computer all while talking him through what he was doing. He was also able to provide some support to other laptops at the house. Service was efficient, professional, and courteous.

Mr Shipley is very nice and easy to talk to. Very willing to help. We will connect very soon. Will write another review after services are completed.

Joe Shipley did a great job with my little old Dell computer. There's only so much that can be done with a computer as old as that one was, but Joe got it cleaned up and running faster for me -- and definitely extended the useful life of that computer. He was very helpful, friendly and professional. I called him again when the computer slowed down again (after I downloaded Skype) and again for advice when I bought my new computer.

This was a great deal. He was able to work with my schedule to have the work done. Great job!

It was going to be a remote computer service and I attempted to contact him at least three times, but I was never able to and I never received any response to my inquires. I never ended up getting the service.

Joe was punctual in calling when he said he would; He walked me through all the necessry steps needed to ensure that the repairs were done correctly. I was extremely satisfied not only with the quality of service provided but the overall costs charged.

He did a lot of work on my computer but we both concluded it was the software, not my computer, that was causing the issues. He was very knowledgeable, and helpful and very nice and professional.

My experience with them was fine. They installed it over the internet and it was fairly priced. They were able to do it professionally and quickly. I have not needed to call them again.

Went very well. In addition to cleaning the PC I called about, Joe sent a list of the web sites for the cleanup files used along with full instructions for their use. After watching him clean up the first computer, I was able to clean up our second computer.

Am much relieved and pleased that my ancient computer is performing as well as it can!

The service provider had no concept of time differences between the states. We agreed on a time and found him calling me an hour or two before the agreed time. I told him that I improved my access time by inactivating the Bing login. After we failed to connect with the control link, I never heard from him again. I attempted to call him, but no reply. I bought a new PC. The old one is still in use, but is disconnected from the internet.

He determined the problem and notified us the same day that we took it to him. Our laptop was ready the next day. We were very satisfied with his sevices and have had no problems with it since then. We would use him again if a problem should arise.

It went very well. We spoke on the phone as he accessed my computer and when he was finished he gave me easy directions to clean my computer every week.

I contacted Joe Shipley of SMART IDEAS by email, and he responded promptly to make an appointment. He was on time for the appointment. He was professional and personable. It was very helpful to me that he explained - in layman's terms - what he was doing as he worked on the computer. He gave me a fair assessment as to what could reasonably be expected from my old computer (e.g., how much more memory could be added) and at what cost. He also gave advice about some security software that had been previously installed and made adjustments to it. Based on his advice I decided to have limited work done, as I plan to buy a new computer in the near future. In the meantime, the old computer is now running much faster and is much less frustrating to use. I was very pleased with Joe's work and his advice. I would definitely recommend him.

Terrific..........it was so simple that he didn't even charge me............terrific guy who I will use again!

We bought a Big Deal for a computer clean up/tune up from Smart Ideas based on the positive reviews on Angie's List. It turns out that the positive reviews are completely justified. Joe couldn't have been any easier to work with or more helpful. He agreed to service our home p.c. remotely the very same day that we bought the Big Deal -- no waiting -- and sent us an email in advance of the appointment with easy-to-follow instructions on how to download specific (free) programs to make the service call go as efficiently as possible. He phoned precisely at the appointed time and remotely reviewed the services, features, programs, and add ons on our home p.c., deleting what we don't use and improving what we do use. Our computer was a mess, and Joe gave us a number of options to minimize costs when it became apparent that it'd take more than one hour to resolve all of the problems. By the end of the service call, our computer was working faster than before and the security issues had been addressed. Before buying the Big Deal, we'd been looking into buying a new p.c. to replace our existing one. Now, it doesn't look like we'll have to.

Joe was very patient over the phone, and he was able to resolve my computer problems. He did so well that I continue to use his services, in fact.

I used Joe's services last year through an Angie's list special. I am a tax preparer and my computer needed a tune up but I did not have time to take it into a shop for service. I contacted Joe and he did the service online so I was only out of commission for about an hour. This year I called him to have a repeat performance and again I was down about an hour and half. He does great work (my computer is running like a champ) and he is reasonalble. Great combination.
