Mike's Computer Repair

It took longer than either of us projected from the get go but I believed so strongly the extra minutes converted to much greater value to me that I insisted the $$ should be twice the up front agreement. Thanks MIKE.

He performed the removal via computer hookup from Arizona. It took about 5 hours but he only charged me for one.

Fine: Service exceeded allotted time! I received recommendations on purchasing a new computer!

I contacted Mike prior to him starting the "cleaning up" process and he guided me through the set up process for the remote site Team Viewer. That was on a Friday. We scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 3 p.m. and I was able to contact him at the scheduled time. No answering machines, etc. What a pleasure for a change! Since we had the Team Viewer already set up, the rest was a breeze - for me at least! We were on the phone briefly in order for me to be able to share my concerns and then he went to work - we hung up and the programs started running. Mike told me he would call me when the work was complete, which he did. I paid with PayPal and that was it. I would definately use him again if needed.

Everything went really well. Mike was a good communicator, he resolved everything that he could, and I appreciated that he explained that I needed to buy a new operating system in order to resolve some other issues with the computer.

My computer was about seven years old and running slow and unpredictable. I wanted to see if it was worth saving or discarding.This was the typical good news/bad news situation. The good news was that he found it (the computer) to be badly infected. The bad news was that, in attempting to remove the virus, the computer was damaged beyond salvation. This made it necessary to buy a new one. This was also a good news/bad news event in that I now have a brand new HP; the bad news being that I am a Senior attempting to adapt to Windows 8. All in all I would give this company a favorable report although I do feel that h might have given me a slight break on the price since the fix ended up tragically - for the computer.

I would like to give you a bunch of details but my part of the program consisted mainly of sitting back and watching Mike do the work. I will say that I'm satisfied with the job. My computer's speed is much improved and access to various web sites has been seriously upgraded. One of the most important things I learned was that tons of junk came to the PC compliments of the coupon printer. The coupons will get you plenty of brownie points, but they are not worth the damage.

My rather old computer was running VERY slowly and hanging regularly. It was getting to the point that I could not do even the bare minimum of what i wanted. I kept procrastinating on determining what to do. Finally, late Christmas Eve, I got so frustrated that I bought a tune-up from Mike though Angie's List. I fully expected that it would be waiting days for an appointment. However, almost immediately I got an email with Mike's phone number so I could call for an appointment. I chose not to call Christmas day, but called the next day. Mike arranged with me to work on the computer later that day. He was friendly, communicated in English, was not condescending, and called when he said he would. He did a variety of checks and clean-ups. Things were much better. Finally, he said that he recommend he run a check/clean-up (virus's?) that would take several hours and may or may not improve the performance. He said that he would charge $85 (for one hour) but that I would not have to pay if I was not satisfied with the performance improvement. He finished it that night and arranged to call me back late afternoon the next day. I was pleased with the improvement and gladly paid. Things are still going well. I would call him again.

Mike was awesome. My computer was in bad shape due to a Malware issue. He really went the extra mile to get it fixed. The diagnostic scan he ran took most of the day to complete. After the scan, it was clear there were other things to fix that would require more than the hour I purchased. He advised that he would need an additional hour, but would not charge me if he couldn't fix the problem. In the end, he did fix everything and spent more than the two hours he charged. I highly recommend him.

My internet browser was not updated and he could only go so far. My wireless connection had not been working and he tried to help me with that. He recommened a new modem for the wireless connection and a backup piece for my computer. He told me exactly what to purchase and an average price for the items. I've made those purchases, tried to connect the new wireless modem and it is still not connecting. If my computer were not so far gone in upgrades, Mike would have been able to clean it. He indicated he would be willing to assist me again. He was very courteous, patient, and helpful.

Mike diagnosed the problems on my computers and told me what needed to be done to repair them correctly. He even told me about the gotchas involved.

It went great. It was remote access which was a little scary put he was very nice and made me feel at ease with the process.

Mike was very business like and professional. He advised me on how my computer was performing and on possible improvements in security. Well worth the price. Would recommend him to anyone.

Working with Mike's Computer Repair was a positive experience. The directions sent via email for downloading the software for remote access contained easy to understand directions. Mike was better than punctual on appointment time. He was able to pull our start time in by one hour. Thanks Mike! My computer was running very slow. Mike deleted start up files and software that was not needed. He then used multiple programs that would identify virus and malware in the computer. He also made some recommendations regarding anti-virus software and follow-up with my internet provider. His service was fast and efficient, and I would recommend him to Angie's List members.

It went great initially and then a week later it ended up becoming slow again. They went over the time and I ended up having to pay more money than the original deal cost. The man himself was very pleasant to work with.

An excellent experience taking advantage of an Angie's Deal. The provider, Mike, responded promptly, described the service in detail on the phone, and started the work at the agreed upon time. He first talked me through some initial activities, linked our computers, and used whatever tools needed to provide the service. I was away from my computer until he called and explained what he found and had done. To me, a casual computer user, everything was explained clearly in non-computer English. I asked him to do a little extra work on a thorny problem at a set rate. He said if he couldn't fix it, no cost. It turned out he could not fix it because it is a problem with my service provider and there was no charge as promised. A very friendly and professional man who made my foray into the somewhat scary world of what goes on inside my computer clear and provided great guidance in how to keep it clean. My partner, who heard the entire process was so impressed she intends to have her own computer cleaned by Mike. That is the best review of services.

It went well. It’s a reasonable service. He’s pretty much up front if he can’t fix it and he refunded the extra hour I bought. I was expecting him to fix it but it was a bigger job. He’s a great guy to deal.

Everything went very smoothly. Mike contacted me shortly after my Angie's list inquiry to set an appointment. He promptly kept the appointment, told me what we would do and about how long it would take. He then performed the cleanup in a timely manner.

Mike performed all agreed upon services. He spent considerable extra time ( it took over 6 hours) to make sure my computer ran faster without the popups. Older computers with a lot of programs (like mine) will take longer to tune up and repair.

Mike was extremely professional. When I contacted him he told me that he would charge me a max of 1.5 hours of service. He spent a total of 5.5 hours working on removing the viruses and malware from my computer utilizing several tools and would not stop until the machine was clear of everything. Eventhough he spent 5.5 hours he charged me $130 for the 1.5 hours as he originally told me.I currently work in an IT department for a major Bank and I would highly recommend him for his technical expertise and customer service.

All went very well. During the above, we talked over several considerations that were unfamiliar to me as I gained considerable insight. Mike was courteous, quick to respond, most knowledgeable, and, very thorough.

Awesome! It was a weekend, I was desperate and he fixed it!

He called to schedule this and we made arrangements for him to call me yesterday at 1. He called and we were getting ready to do it and he said he doesn’t do mac computers but he said It was ok and to get a refund.
