What I appreciated most was when the plumber provided options to get me what I wanted and did NOT try to upsell me. He was helpful and informative and friendly. And now I have better water pressure in my master bath.

If I had known they didn't want to do this, I would have found another plumber last week. I am disappointed that Jon mislead me and said that they could do the work and then decided at the last minute that they didn't want to. I think this is very unprofessional and I would not recommend that anyone on Angie's List use this business. I have never used J&H before and all of my conversations with them were polite, so I don't know why they refused to provide me service. I told Jon that the last leak had caused $15,000 worth of damage in my basement and that I needed a plumber that had insurance to cover me for another leak if the work they did failed. Maybe that is what they didn't like? I had purchased a check valve (that I sent him a picture of beforehand) myself. Maybe they didn't like that? I asked for a quote beforehand. Maybe they didn't like that? I am at a loss as to why they refused to help me.

I had an appointment for Friday afternoon and took a half day at work to accommodate the appointment. The tech came out and took one look and said I wasn't told I was replacing a sink and I can't lift your sink by myself. He called his supervisor outside and came back in and said he would return and 12:00 pm the next day. at 3:45 pm I called the after hours line and they paged him. at 4:30 I did the same. at 5:05 pm I got a voicemail from the tech that he fell asleep from doing an overnight job and he would try to get out to me. He sounded very tired and I honestly did not want someone doing shabby work if they were sleep deprived and had a bad taste in my mouth as I had re arranged my schedule for this for two days now. I am so disappointed because the reviews looked good on Angies list and I thought I would have a good experience.

Re-installed a toilet that was leaking because of bad wax seal on tile floor. Stacked two seals, installed then chalked around the toilet as well as the sink pedestal and shower curb at tile floor. Very thorough and friendly. Showed up right on time.

Took a few trips to get all details taken care of but we are happy with the install (shower diverter and fixtures) and will call them again. Over the last couple months we have had a variety of plumbing issues and J and H took care of us. We will call on them again.

Ever since I had bought my new house I was struggling with an odor problem, a smell like sewage that appeared to come from the guest room. When I called J & H, the very nice lady answering the phone, Jan, advised me to make sure that it wasn't a temporary problem due to lack of usage of the lines in that part of the house. So I ran the test she suggested, opening all the faucets and running water through the whole system. After waiting a while the smell returned and I knew I had a problem. I requested that they examine the vent stack after reading up on similar problems and it turned out everything was ok with that. As a solution to my problem, Jerry installed a commercial trap guard in the shower drain, as is used in large kitchens. That turned out to be the perfect solution. Thank you J & H for making my home habitable again!

I found that John, the owner, was very professional and courteous. With the extensive work that was done there were a few hiccups, but they were addressed immediately and taken care of promptly, even on a weekend. Jason was our plumber in charge of the project and performed most of the work. He is very knowledgeable and courteous. He lets you know when something is not right and how he would fix it, but does not pressure you to authorize the work. When something of this magnitude happens in your home it is not easy and it is very messy. The dust and dirt involved in jack hammering the foundation of your bathroom and cement sawing through areas of the home to expose the plumbling is crazy. J&H did try to cover my carpets, etc, but it was a bit overwhelming to have all that mess to clean up. Overall I was very pleased with the work completed on my home and feel confident that I will not have any sewer problems again. I have 2 new beautiful bathrooms and my home is starting to get back to normal.

They were very responsive and did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. Plumbing work is expensive, and there was no great bargain here ? which is why I only rated them "fair" for price ? but you get what you pay for. I think the price I was charged was fair and competitive. Their communication was great and I will absolutely use them again (I just hope I don't need to!)

Went good, install was decent but they could not complete the cut-out in the walls, and one of the sinks never sealed right even though we let it cure, it just spins so I have to take it apart and reseal it. The faucets were done decent, but the quote didn't include any type of help fixing up the walls or under the cabinets. It just would have been nice to have the job completed from start to finish even if I had to pay a bit more. Overall though, they were pretty good. I'd use them again, just be a little more up front about expectations.

He brought in a new commode and replaced the old one.

The garbage disposal was making a terrible sound, as if something were caught in the blades. It would not run, and shut down eventually. There was an electrical odor. The company called me on the same day, and sent our a repairman who was courteous, dissembled the canister, and it was repaired after a bone was removed. No complaints

This was a BIG project. We had just purchased a new house and found out within the first 6 hours that it had polybutylene. That material is notoriously brittle (there was a class action lawsuit filed and won about it). At the end of the day that meant that we were subject to a major rupture at any time, and we were less than happy about it. We decided to re-run all the hto and cold water pipes through the house to avoid any issues. We went to several providers to get quotes, and only reached out to organizations that had strong ratings on Angie's List. We met with 5 organizations. As this was such a huge project, we really wanted to be sure we were comfortable with the provider. Jon came out to do a walkthrough and generate the quote. He walked through the house with me and gave thoughtful explanations about how they'd approach the project. He took his time and answered all of my questions, and provided the quote exactly when he said he would. They were not the least expensive quote, but we knew we'd prefer to work with them. We negotiated just a little bit and came up with a workable agreement for both of us. The project started on time, but did take longer than expected. Due to the alignment of the walls between the first and second floor (something that was not apparent until the walls had been opened up) the project was extended a bit. The project was huge and it was a major mess, but these guys did all that they could to keep everything as clean as possible. The team here was great about answering any questions that we had, and there were many. They kept us informed as the project progressed, and walked us through any tricky challenges as they came up. There was a portion of the project that required another provider to come in to do some work and for J&H to come back after to install a shower valve. I was concerned that they'd put us lower in the priority list for that last bit, but they were in fact extremely responsive and set up an appointment right away. I wouldn't wish this type of project on anyone, but if you have to do it I highly recommend J&H Plumbing to get the job done.

What we thought would be a simple removal of old water heater and install of a new unit, ended up being a more involved project that required a complete re-route of our gas line. The previous homeowner had hired a less than ethical plumber to pipe gas into the laundry room, but failed to ensure the job was done correct and to code (water heater and gas dryer fed off of same 1/2" line). Michael with J&H corrected this as promised and at the original quoted price. He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about his trade. J&H is a small outfit, but it's obvious that they take the time to hire the right plumbers who take great pride in doing the job right.

During the past several months we learned that the water bill was about $50 per month higher than normal. There were signs of standing water along portions of the front plantings of the home. I called one company, they did come out and without any digging suggested that the water feed between the city supply and house needed to be replaced. If they dug down just to find the leak at the house it would be a quick fix at a price of "around $500 but to replace the line would be $3,000 - $3,500." I choose to get a second opinion. Called J & H Plumbing, they arranged to come out the next day. After looking at the site, Mike started to dig a pit at the house foundation where the city water meets the copper feed to the house. At that point he discovered the problem that a supply line from the main line to an unused irrigation system was the culprit and there was the leak. That irrigation system has not been used in the past five years, as we had transitioned from a grass front yard to a desert setting, with a watering system for the plants and tree in that area fed by a separate system. A couple of hours of digging, cutting old piping and placing a cap to seal the area. All was done. Their plumber, Mike, was a wonderful person, straight to the job and with the ability to assess the situation. Then with the knowledge to solve the problem quickly, with no guess work. He could not believe that first quote and their recommendation. From now on, any plumbing issue will be solved by J&H Plumbing.

Great job and came on short notice when other plumbing services couldn't schedule us in for several days. We appreciated the response as we were only in town for few days and needed it done immediately.

They were very knowledgeable and helpful. I needed an ADA compliant height toilet with certain characteristics for my husband and they knew just what I needed. They were very punctual and professional and gave me very good advice.

I used this provider before to install a new garbage disposal and I was happy so I called them again when something got caught in the disposal that I could not remove myself. Jerry arrived on time, found the problem and fixed it in just a few minutes. He was pleasant and professional and the fee was reasonable. I will call this provider again if I need a plumber.

J&H Plumbing was excellent. the service tech was professional. he went above and beyond. he resealed a toilet and tightened handles on the toilets making sure that everything was in as good a working order as possible. In order to replace the drain plug, he had to crawl under the house. he did it with no complaints and performed some additional plumbing work that wasn't expected.

I had J&H come out to quote then repair my bathtub faucet as it was not working right and leaking. They gave me a quote and actually came out below the quote and did excellent work. They were prompt and very friendly. They also made sure to clean up before they left. Overall great work!

The service man quickly identified the issue, dug up the pipes, repaired the leak and was one to the next job in an hour. Since the water was shut off, I was very pleased to have water again.

He was on time. Very neat. Did not talk much.
