 + -1 moreThey responded to evening call promptly at around 10PM. Within 30 min. their on call technician called and said "I would call up at 7AM tomorrow to fix the exact time of visit". He called me at 7AM sharp and came to my house at 8AM. He fixed a part of issues and left other works pending because he needed parts. Within an hour he called me and promised me to come again with parts on 1/7/2013
Description of Work: Toilet leakage was repaired. Faucet leak at kitchen and Patio required appropriate parts, therefore, rescheduled.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. At 9 am on Sunday morning, we discovered a water leak under the kitchen sink, so I shut off the main water valve to the whole house while we went to church. Our family was scheduled to arrive for a Birthday dinner at 2 pm. After church, I tried to fix the problem, myself, but ran into a problem beyond my knowledge when I tried to replace the angle stop valve. I could not get it off the pipe in the wall. So, I joined Angie's List to find a recommended plumber. I selected and called J&H Plumbing, a firm that I had actually used a few years prior with good results. Within about 30 minutes, a plumber arrived. He resolved the problem - and upgraded both angle stop valves and several other supply side tubes at the same time - for one hour of time charge. Although plumbers charge a premium rate on Sundays, I felt the charge was reasonable for the excellent and expedient service on a Sunday afternoon. We called our family and started the Birthday party a little later than planned.
Description of Work: Replaced a leaking supply tube plus two angle stop valves and two other supply lines under the kitchen sink.

 + -1 moreI initially hired J&H to fix a leaking kitchen faucet. I called J&H on Sunday and received a return call the same day. I was told that someone would call me on Monday morning to schedule. I received a call around 8am on Monday and the scheduler at J&H said she could fit me in the schedule that day. Paul Q arrived later that day and was able to resolve the issue with parts he had available. I had mentioned some leaking from my garbage disposal and Paul confirmed that it was no longer functional. He also took the time to answer some miscellaneous plumbing questions. Based on Paul's advice, I purchased my own garbage disposal and Paul returned to install it a few days later. The installation went smoothly and now I have a functional garbage disposal and no more leaking. I would definitely use J&H again!

We were very happy and will be using them again. It is hard to find honest people. J & H is great and we have a plumber for life now! We will always ask for Paul.
Description of Work: Paul came out for the main reason of super high water pressure. We bought the home as-is and there was other issues needing to be addressed. He installed a pressure relief valve, anti-shiphon valve, replace plastic PVC with cooper, water shut off main valve from the street shut off, replace the anode rod on the hot water heater and cleaned it all out. Replace a few outdoor faucets and some other misc things with our RO System.

 + -1 moreWhile the dispatcher said the technician would be there between 3-5, the tech called around 5 and said he was running late but was on his way. He called a while later to say he was stuck in traffic, but was about 3 miles out. It was close to 6 PM when he showed up, smelling of cigarette smoke. He quickly assessed the the problem and methodically disassembled the rusted garbage disposal and replaced it with a new one. He did not try to up-sell a higher performance unit. He was courteous and professional. He cleaned up when he was done.
Description of Work: Our antique garbage disposal started leaking due to rust. I was going to replace it myself when I looked at the wiring. The disposal was hard-wired to the house, no plug. I called J&H Plumbing, as I had used them for big jobs in the past. The technician knew exactly how to fix the electrical problem, he had the correct new unit and performed the task promptly. He cleaned up everything when he finished. Plus, he recommended I use the Angie's List coupon each time I call J&H.

 + 0 moreWe needed an old sink removed from the hall bathroom and a new cabinet/vanity installed. I bought an assembled cabinet and vanity as well as the hardware and faucet from Home Depot. When I called J and H plumbing for an estimate he jokingly said that it would be $105/hr and it would take 45 hours. Of course I recognized that as ridiculous and said I could learn to do it myself in that time. He then said it would be four hours. He made me feel that he was testing to see if I would understand the work that was going to be done. My main frustration with the company was that they gave me a window of time for their arrival between 8am and 10am but just before 10am I received a phone call from their main office stating that the serviceman would be at least an hour late. I did not appreciate that they had known he would be late but had not called me until the last minute. I voiced my dissatisfaction to the woman on the phone and she did not offer an apology or any type of compensation. We also voiced our dissatisfaction to the serviceman and nothing was done. When he arrived my husband asked if they would take the hour he had been late, or any portion thereof, off of the bill and he said he was not able to do that. Although the work was acceptable, he did nothing extraordinary that would make up for their lack of concern for their tardiness which is why I would not use them again or recommend them.
Description of Work: A sink in a hall bathroom was removed and an assembled cabinet and vanity was installed in its place.

 + -1 morePaul rescued me from trying to replace the master bathroom faucets. They were so corroded he actually had to saw a couple of the connectors that were holding the fixtures to the sink apart! He was on time, very polite, and worked diligently to finish the job. He replaced both faucets, replaced the supply lines, and replumbed the traps under the sink. A job well done!
Description of Work: Master bathroom faucet replacement, supply line replacement, and redoing the traps underneath the sinks.

I joined Angie's List when it became apparent that finding a dependable, qualified plumber/drain clearing service was not going to be easy long distance. My husband's son lives in a mobile home in a nice mobile home park in Mesa. While he tries to get back on his feet, we are handling all of the costs associated with this property. Last week he called us about a clogged toilet problem that couldn't be resolved with a plunger. I had no idea who to call so I turned to Y _ _ _. I called a company with a 4-1/2 star rating with 37 reviews, most of them positive. I'll cut to the chase, they didn't fix the problem and refused to go back out and complete the job. They credited me back for what I paid them. That's the point where I decided to look into Angie's List. After my membership was activated, I did a search and came up with J & H Plumbing. Very positive reviews. So I called and spoke with Aloma. From my first phone call to J & H I have been very impressed with this company's professionalism and punctuality. They sent Jerry out that afternoon. The job went on for a couple of days until it was completely resolved. Jerry went above and beyond to take care of this mess for us. I can't speak highly enough for him, Aloma, Carly and Jon. I will definitely call J & H if and when we have any other plumbing issues!

 + 0 moreOur water softner line broke from the garage to our laundry room on the other side of the house. Unfortunately the line was ran through our ceiling!! It happened during the middle of the night, so we had excessive damage. I initally called J&H Plumbing to get an appointment with a few other companies; we typically try 3. Jan answered the phone at 7:00 am and was very helpful. She even called to let me know that the repair guys were on their way. J&H by far was the most professional and honest regarding the work that needed to be performed and estimation. 2 other companies quoted me $1000+ and would not have adhered to code. They replaced the line - crawling in the roof at Phoenix summer temps - and did an excellent job! Both Paul and Jerry were very polite and professional. After the work was completed a few weeks after, we received a post card from the company, addressed to me personally. The post card was thanking me for using their company! What a nice surprise. Excellent company, very professional. I will definitely call again!

 + -1 moreI called at 9 am and spoke with a very professional phone person, Reed. He told me tech was on a job & would call me back ASAP. I got a call within an hour. Paul gave me a rough estimate over the phone: if it could be fixed about $150 if the whole fixture & trim had to be replaced it would be about $425 plus tax. He would call & come over when he finished the job he was on. Paul got here about 3:30. He was very friendly and professional.He had all the parts and tools that were needed. He went right to work, was able to replace the cartridge and was done with in half an hour. The shower works beautifully now. Thanks Paul!

 + -1 moreWhen I called J&H Plumbing, I was told it would cost no more than $150 depending on how long it took to do the work. I was also told that the plumber would be there between 2pm and 5pm and that they would call me when he was on his way. Later that day, the plumber called and told me that he was waiting at our house. Since no one had called me, it took 7 minutes to get back to the house. It took 40 minutes to change the shutoff valve and hose bib. The bill was $163 less a $10 Angie's List coupon. The plumber said that they charge $89/hour. Paying $153 for a 40 minute job is outrageous. I will never use J&H Plumbing again.

 + 0 moreJerry was our plumber, and he was great! He was cheerful, knowledgeable, and hard-working, and I felt very comfortable having him in the house. After he left, we realized that a rusty old bolt that holds the toilet in place had broken off, leaving the toilet wobbly. Jerry came back the next day and fixed that problem free of charge, even though it took him more than an hour to get the old bolt out, add some extra reinforcements on that side of the toilet, and get a new one in place. All in all, I was impressed by the professionalism of all the staff, including the office manager and dispatcher. They really went that extra mile to find out all the details, to make sure that our problems were dealt with correctly, and to make the whole process as convenient as possible.
Description of Work: I have a 60 year old house, with a decrepit old plumbing system. I had two other plumbing companies tell me that the pipes were just too old to fix, and that it would take thousands of dollars worth of work to accomplish anything. While the folks from J & H Plumbing agreed that we need to get a camera down into the pipes and see what major re-plumbing needs to be done, they were able to get the system back up and running for the time being.

Being in California and having to find a plumber to clear a drain for my 88 Grandmother was not a process I was looking forward to, especially since the last plumber I called was unsuccessful and left my Grandmother feeling weary of repairman. When I called the people at J and H Plumbing, they immediately understood the special needs of my Grandmother and did not hesitate to take the extra steps to make her feel respected and comfortable. They went right to work, kept me informed at every step of the way, and removed two tough blockages. My Grandmother reported feeling very well taken care of. The gentleman that did the work called from the site and gave me a detailed description of the work he performed and the condition of the plumbing. J & H went far beyond the call of duty. They are professional, timely, and compassionate. They clearly love what they do and take much pride in their work. I can't say enough good things about them.

 + 0 moreI ABSOLUTELY CANNOT TELL YOU HOW IMPRESSED I AM WITH THIS COMPANY AND THE STELLAR SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM THEM!! First I called J & H Plumbing today at 2pm. The sweetest lady in the world answered the phone. She asked for complete details of my leaky pool pipes problem. Then she told me she would call me back soon after she talked to one of the service men. She called me back and told me there would be two service men arriving in 30 to 45 minutes. About 35 minutes later these two professionals arrived. They figured out the problem and fixed it - and made sure that all the leaks were fixed, then they refused to charge me saying it was such a quick fix, shook my hand and left. OMG! From start to finish everyone at J & H Plumbing was as friendly, and knowledgeable, and helpful as can be!! I MEAN, EVEN WITHOUT THE FACT THAT THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME, HOW CAN YOU GET ANY BETTER SERVICE THAN THAT!! This company is fantastic and I definitely recommend them to anyone in need of any kind of plumbing service!! In less than 3 hours - from the time I made the call - to the time I closed my yard gate behind them my pool pipes are completely leak free! Now I can spend the weekend in my pool instead of watching it turn green while I wait till next week for help. THANK YOU J & H PLUMBING FOR SAVING MY WEEKEND AND FASTER AND BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED!!
Description of Work: Pool Equipment, specifically pipes between sand filter and pool pump. It was a small problem but they fixed it in less than 20 minutes. Paul Quintero and an assistant showed up at my house - exactly at the time I was told I could expect them. Fixed my pool equipment which had flooded our yard. They were as friendly and professional as could be. And then when I asked if they wanted a card or a check for payment they said "It was such an easy, quick fix. We're not going to charge you a service call for that". I think I stood there with my mouth open in shock for a few seconds. OMG! Then they left without making any kind of mess whatsoever. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SO IMPRESSED WITH ANY SERVICE COMPANY!! And it's not just the fact that they didn't even charge me. It's my entire experience with them from the moment I called. At 2pm today I called this wonderful J & H Plumbing. A very nice lady answered the phone. She asked me to explain in detail what the problem was. She told me they had one person in the area that was about finished with another job and would give him a call and then call me back. She called me back and said she could have Paul and a assistant come over within half an hour to 45 minutes. She is such a sweet lady I feel bad that I didn't catch her name. Less than 40 minutes later these two obviously experienced men were fixing our leaky pool pipes. They inspected the whole area and checked for all the possible leaking areas. Then they fixed the leaks, turned the electric back on, turned the pool pump back on, and made sure the leaks were fixed. Then they shook my hand again and refused to charge me. I mean, who ever heard of such quick, friendly, experienced service -reguardless of the fact I wasn't charged. I think I just caught myself in a moment of shock again! I was completely capable and prepared to pay whatever it would be. I just realized that I never even asked for a quote! Must have been that sweet, caring ladies voice that immediately made me feel that I could trust her. I DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE WHO HAS ANY TYPE OF PLUMBING ISSUE!! In fact, I have a 19 year old water heater and now I know who I am absolutely going to be calling about that soon!! THANK YOU SINCERELY TO ALL OF THE STAFF OF J & H PLUMBING!!
