A complete home inspection was done to assess the need for repairs prior to sale. I received a very thorough report within a week which clearly explained all issues with the home. Start to finish, it was a quick and easy process.

We chose Homewerx to do a home inspection for us before putting our house on the market. We didn't want to have any surprises before listing. I found Homewerx on Angie's list and cross checked at the BBB but only found positive reviews and grades. When I called to set up an appt, Shannon was bright & cheerful. She worked with the date I needed and gave me all the information regarding what will be inspected--including the pool and for termites--and the individual costs for services. She even told me that our inspector would be Scott. Scott showed up right on time and began on the outside of the home. He was out there quite a while looking over every foot of the exterior, roof, and pool. Thankfully the time was all for inspection, not looking at problems (we had very few!). Coming inside, he looked at everything imaginable in every room, bathroom, and even in the attic! After three hours of inspecting, Scott gave us a verbal report along with suggestions for fixing items for the sale of our home. A written report will be available for our realtor and prospective buyers will really be a huge help for the sale. We are completely satisfied with Homewerx and feel very comfortable that they did a comprehensive & thorough job. The folks we worked with were awesome & very nice! People who know me value my opinion because they know how 'particular' I am. And by particular, I mean picky, not easily impressed, and usually disappointed in services received. I have high standards, especially for people who represent themselves as professionals. I expect 100%, but over the years have come to accept 85%. Well, there is no need to dummy-down your expectations of Homewerx, Scott is 100%. We moved to Arizona from Minnesota and after checking Angie's List , hired Homwerx to perform a pre-purchase home inspection. Scott is knowledgeable in all areas of construction, plumbing, electrical - anything that makes a house function. He is also licensed to do termite inspections and pool/spa inspections. Moving from Minnesota to Arizona is a bit like moving to 'Bizzaro World'. Whereas Minnesota homes are built around heat-based construction with a basement and a large furnace, homes in Az see a furnace as an afterthought and are built to keep the heat out, not in. Scott was very willing to educate me in the things to look for in Az homes, things that never would have occurred to a mid-westerner. I attended the inspection (highly recommend it) and learned a lot in general and things specific to the home. I.e., utilities shut-offs location. Scott will notice the darnest things, an almost invisible crack, a missing knob, he is very thorough. You will get a verbal, general report at the end of the inspection. Within 48 hrs you will receive a written report that will include photos and will detail the inspection in a very professional manner. The report is impressive and could certainly be used as a negotiating tool in a home purchase. If you are buying new construction, Scott will make inspections during construction to insure a quality build a code compliance. Not sure what he charges for this, but seems like a good investment as the 'Builder' is only as good as the crew doing the work. Thanks, Scott, for restoring my faith!

Excellent - excellent - excellent. This guy knows what he is doing. We met him at the house we were contemplating purchasing and he took the time to explain the area of the house that were of concern - for a home that was 18 years old. He was able to show us why there was water damage outside the house (poor grading and landscaping when they remodeled) - and also all the small repairs that would be needed in the home. We had a termite inspection and also added the pool and spa inspection. Well worth the extra! The guy looks at EVERYTHING! We knew EXACTLY what we were about to buy ---- an 18 year old home that was not well maintained by the owners, and the homeowners did a poor job on the 'porch' addition - which needed to be torn off. Although it looked good at first glance - uncovering things here and there helped us to realize that the home we were about to buy was going to be a maintenance nightmare --- and the homeowners were asking top dollar. We passed when they were unwilling to treat the termites and fix the water damage caused by the roof! Thanks HomeWerxs. We WILL be using you again!

This was my first home purchase/ inspection but I had done a lot of research and was wanting to find an inspection company that I could really count on to be thorough and knowledgeable. After checking the reviews on Angieslist I decided to go with Homewerx... Well, Scott Hubbard was a true professional. He was very thorough and went the extra mile for me. He took his time to explain to me in detail the answers to all of my questions.It was late evening and he did'nt seem like he was rushing to get off work like I'm sure most people would have. I like that he didnt just peek up on the roof but actually walked it and same goes for the attic, he found that the insulation was lacking in the far corners. All in all, I feel like I got my moneys worth and would highly recommend Homewerx especially to first time home buyers.

The company responded to my inquiry immediately and scheduled Scott Hubbard in just a few days. He did a very complete job that took over three and one half hours and found two safety related issues which were fixed by the builder. Fortunately we had no other major problems but he made a very complete report highlighting minor issues complete with photos. He issued a professional report in days which was used by the builder as a repair guide. It was money well spent.

Scott arrived to the appointment on time with the key to the property and was totally professional, patient, and courteous throughout the inspection. During the home inspection, my husband and I were present, and Scott took the time to draw a map of the A/C system, explain it, and answered all of my husband's questions concerning it. Scott took the time to show us the more complicated structures in need of replacement or repair, and explained what those findings meant in terms of the overall condition of the house. He did not recommend any unnecessary services, saving us money. He did not charge us for running approximately an hour over time, and at no time did we feel rushed. At the end of the inspection, Scott provided an excellent verbal summary of every system he inspected from memory, and again discussed them with us and even showed us exactly what he meant when we had a question. What I personally liked about this inspection, was that Scott allowed us to attend the inspection and ask questions, and that Scott spent most of his time doing the inspection, and discussing his findings with us, instead of spending most of his time typing the reports. His assistant, Shannon, responded quickly when our inspection report was delayed due to computer problems. Shannon was, pleasant, professional and helpful from the time we made the appointment for the inspections through the delivery of our reports. When we received the home and termite inspection reports, they were very clear, detailed, comprehensive, and user friendly. All the pictures of items described in the report were sharp and well annotated. We are very satisfied with Home-Werx. We will be very happy to use their inspection services again as we continue our home search, and we give this company and its staff the highest possible rating.

I was in the process of closing on a new construction home. First of all I was told by other people in the real estate industry that new home construction inspections are not really required. Why? Because everything is new, so not much wear and tear and also that the city will do inspections anyway for code compliance. That is true. But they do not really check on workmanship, build quality, errors in fixtures/ connections etc- All builders operate on schedule, hire contractors and mistakes do happen because of human errors or defective components. If you need peace of mind for your big investment, a good inspection will work for you. It seems I'm quite informed about inspections, but a major part of my education has been due to Homewerx and Bruce Hubbard in particular. Bruce is a thorough professional - He answered all my questions and then some more. The inspection was supposed to take 3 hrs but Bruce actually spent close to 4, just because of our conversations. He is totally detailed and thorough. His work really hit all the right notes. In fact my builder's rep and my real estate agent were both impressed with the whole report. They were also surprised that Bruce found 4 electrical outlets that were defective because of a condition called 'open neutral' in them. This was purely a bad component batch that got in. It is rarity, but Bruce caught it as he takes his time and applies his experience. What else can I say- if there was an A+ they would get that -It was a great experience. I just wish every other services company could be this way. If you are in the market looking for a reliable and thorough inspector in AZ, Homewerx is your match-period!

We picked Homewerx based on Angieslist reviews. We were able to look at their pricing on their website and schedule the inspection online. We received a prompt email confirmation. When we discovered that we had entered the wrong square footage on the request form, we notified them and they adjusted the price lower immediately. We received a follow up email to confirm that one of us would be at the home at the time of the inspection or there would be access. Excellent communication. Scott performed a thorough inspection like I've never seen! We've bought 5 houses and this was the most detailed inspection and the most knowledgeable inspector by far. Scott answered every question I fired at him, which was a lot. He not only pointed out issues, but also maintenance suggestions to keep from having problems in the future. Over 120 of them were listed on the report! It's like a honey-do list for the next two years. He also took the time to show me potential money/energy savings by pointing out hot spots on the interior walls where the insulation in the attic is failing. Great information and tips. I couldn't have asked for more.

The bottom line is: take it from me, even though you don't know me...don't waste your time (like I did) reading reviews for any other home inspection services. Just hire Scott at Homewerx to do your inspection! He is THAT good! We're buying a HUD home. I originally scheduled the inspection for earlier in the week...then was told...because of HUD requirements...it couldn't be done until later in the week. I called Shannon (Scott's wife...who works in the offfice and answered the call) about having to reschedule. I apologized so much for having to reschedule, and she was such an understanding, SWEETHEART of a person, and rescheduled the inspection for later in the week. She even listened to my rants and raves about HUD and their requirements. Wow! The inspection was scheduled for 2 PM. We arrived 10 minutes early, and Scott was ALREADY there and set to go. The realtor was supposed to be there to let Scott in, but luckily, he had a special key for home inspectors and was able to get in before the realtor arrived. In the 3 1/2 hours, YES, 3 1/2 hours (!) he was there, he was nothing but friendly, courteous and obviously knowledgeable...I mean...this man KNOWS his stuff. Any questions my wife and I had, he answered calmly, with friendliness and courtesy. He's got a great sense of humor, and shed some light about the pigeons around here (coming from Seattle, sure, we had some, but it almost seems like pigeons are the Arizona state bird). He explained everything to our full satisfaction. And then...WOW...when I received his inspection report by email a few days later...it was so detailed...with pictures included that had arrows pointing to a specific problem...that Einstein would be proud of. I emailed the inspection, termite and infrared reports to our real estate agent. I suggested to her that "Have you every seen anything like this?" and she agreed with me that she hasn't. So I hope she will take my advice and use Scott for her future customers' home inspections needs. She agreed...and hope she follows through...because not using Scott's services would be a travesty. Scott and Shannon made me feel like a friend...not just an acquaintance...but a friend. No BS, just the plain truth about the condition of the house. In our first walk-through, we were obviously so excited we didn't notice some things. Thank goodness for Scott...he saw things with his detailed eye that we missed including some drywall repair needed next to the master bath shower, and found the many missing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in a kitchen drawer. SCORE! In the end, I really can't believe Scott only charges the amount he does for the work he performs. His service was WAY above expectations. I just don't have enough great things to say about Scott and Shannon. Ladies and gentlemen, if you're looking for some good 'ole fashioned "real" service with a smile, HomeWerx is your home inspection service. I don't write many reviews, I think is my third...but someone this hard-working and talented DESERVES a gold medal (if Scott were in the Olympics)! To Scott and Shannon: my sincerest thanks to you both! Both of you were incredible. This was my BEST experience in the purchase of this house. Did an extremely thorough job on the home inspection report. Excellent report. We had over a hundred points of repair and they were all well organized. Came out the day after we called. Plus, had a good price point.

I contacted Homewerx for a home inspection based on its reviews on Angie's list. I was not disappointed! From my initial contact with Shannon on the phone, to working with Scott Hubbard, to reviewing the inspection report. All were great experiences and I couldn't be happier.Shannon was very pleasant on the phone and scheduled me immediately. She noted Scott would spend about 2 1/2 hours with us. Well, he didn't, he spent FOUR! I felt like he genuinely cared about us. He took his time inspecting the home, photographing problems, and explaining to us the pros and cons of the home. He provided an excellent reality check, making us aware of some of what we were in store for ( the home was on a golf course) but we never felt like he was pushing his opinions onto us. His report was comprehensive. He began with a summary, and ended with detailed descriptions and photographs of his concerns. In the end I felt like we had an excellent idea of the repair costs associated with this purchase. When we learned the home appraised for $35,000 less than our offer, we could see that the 10-15K more that was needed was too much to make this a viable purchase and we walked away with confidence. I will definitely use this group for the next offer we make!

This was such a positive experience, I'm tempted to do it all over again. You get what you're promised?and more?at an extremely reasonable price. Not only that, but you'll learn more useful information about your house than you ever imagined. Scott was prompt as scheduled and patiently pointed out items needing varying degrees of attention. He was polite, articulate, and communicative. The report I received was clear, concise, and useful, and I received it within 3 business days. Scott was prompt, profesional and thorough. He spent a lot of time with us discussing potential issues and did not rush. He also used a technology to look into the walls and discovered a small leak of which none of us were aware - very good catch. It was in the garage of the 4,600 ft2 house - so he really was thorough. I highly recommend this additional wall scanning service (it can see both insulation problem areas as well as leaks). When asked, Scott also gave his opinion on various items. As Scott is not selling refurbishment works, he was able to be rather candid on areas we could potentially save money. Both Scott and Shannon are great and I would not hesitate to use or recommend them.

Using a coupon an Angie's List after researching this company I am very happy with the work and service. Good and prompt communication. Scott did not rush, answered all my questions, and pointed out issues that are also in a detailed report with photos.He called the morning of the appointment to advise me he may be a few minutes late, which I appreciate and understand as he had a bit of a drive. I was welcome to stay for any or all of the inspection process but did not have to be there at all. When I arrived a ladder was up and Scott was already coming down from checking the roof. I felt comfortable with his abilities and professionalism. After the inspection I was to please call if I thought of other questions later that I forgot to discuss.

Scott is a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone desiring a home inspection. During his inspection he helped me categorize the issues that surfaced into two broad types, that which can be fixed by a home owner / home handy man and that which needs professional service and this was above and beyond his scope of work. I think he has helped us make an informed judgement on what needs to be done and what can wait.

Scott arrived a few minutes late but once there, go to work right away. He was very detailed. He looked at every little thing from the floor to the roof. The inspection took about an hour and his verbal feedback took another 30 minutes. We tried to take notes about what he was saying and he told us "everything will be int he report." We thought "sure." But, in fact, when the report was received, it had every little detail he talked about and more. Excellent report. I will definitely use this company again.

I showed up about an hour after the inspector (Scott) arrived. His inspection lasted something to the tune of 3 or 4 hours and was incredibly thorough! The 27 page report (with photos) was emailed to me within 2 business days of the inspection. Scott was very patient with my questions and super knowledgeable about everything pertaining to our situation. I have recommended and will continue to recommend their service as top notch!

I'm buying a short-sale property 'as-is', but I still wanted the peace of mind before I sign on the bottom line that there's not a high-dollar repair lurking in my future. So, I contacted HomeWerx. Shannon replied almost immediately via phone, and took some info from me. She set up a time for the date I had requested, and Scott came out on that date. He was prompt (early even), and very thorough, starting on the roof of the three-story property and working his way to the first floor. He checked out everything you would expect - and then some. Scott uses an awesome tool that allows him to see inside walls, to see water leaks (or lack thereof), to gauge the temperature of the air exiting the A/C vents, etc. It's an infrared camera, and is probably the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while. I'm a gadget guy, so this technology was really interesting to me. Aside from being a professional and friendly guy, Scott is also very patient and gave me a demonstration of the capabilities of the FLIR infrared camera he was using. Amazing! He even answered all my silly questions about it. :^) Honestly, after seeing this tool in action, I can tell you right now that if your home inspector DOESN'T have one, then find another home inspector! Scott personally detailed for me the items he discovered during his inspection, and gave me advice on how to proceed with repairs, if I chose to do so, and will be forwarding a referral or two of companies who can do the work (I will check them out on Angie's List, of course!). Overall it was a great experience, and I feel that I got more than I paid for. Scott knows his business, and his confidence put me at ease. Scott took my phone call and walked me step by step through determining what exactly I would need. It has been BEYOND REFRESHING to find someone that is not so eager to make a buck that they push upon you what is not needed. Through our conversation and his questions we were able to determine that I actually need not to invest in having an inspection done in this situation, and he even took the time to continue talking to me and referred me to someone else in another field that can assist me.
