Scott was on time, very thorough, and went over everything with me before he left in order to ensure I understood everything. He is very good at his job and all issues were well documented, photographed, and explained. I highly recommend this business. I will definitely use this business in the future whenever I have need for a home inspection.

Went up into the attic and roof and looked over the entire house to give me a private status report so that I (as a layman) know where everything stands. He's been fantastic and even replied to 8 subsequent emails clarifying how I should go about looking for a roofer and attic ventilation. Super Guy! Highly, highly recommended.

Very well, happy with results. A few safety and electrical problems found and were taken care of by seller after providing information from this inspection. Homewrex worked with us as we needed to reschedule the inspection twice.

My realtor was surprised that I found someone at almost half the price his guy quoted. He gave a thorough report and even though the house is past the 1 year mark on the fixes, they agreed to fix almost everything on his report. Excellent work.

This was a new construction house so I was not going to have an inspection done but finally decided to get one done and I'm glad I did. The Homewerx inspector caught a lot of minor discrepancies and a few major ones that I defiantly would have missed. The report was incredibly detailed and came with photographic evidence of the issues that were discovered. Within 24 hours I had the report and they also sent it to the builder who scheduled the necessary re-work before closing. They were very helpful as I had to set the inspection up over the phone from South Carolina getting ready to move to Goodyear. Would definitely use them again and if you think you don't need an inspection because its new construction, think again and pay to get an independent professional to look at the house for you.

We are building a new home. My wife and I have sent many emails to our builder with items of concern. Some of the issues get fixed but we really started to see action after we presented Scott's inspection report. When we arrived at our home for a walk-through the superintendent had the Homewerks report carefully laid out on the counter, highlighted, and was making serious progress to get the issues Scott had identified marked off the list. There were several items Scott identified that only a knowledgable inspector might reveal. We are incredibly happy that we decided to complete an independent inspection and that we chose Homewerks to help us.

The price is pretty reasonable, pretty comparable to what I paid for similar service in Virginia.

Scott did a very thorough job. I would use and recommend his company again.

He found many items that we had paid for that were not installed, eg: We paid for additional insulation but he found we were shorted. He also found cracks in our trusses, and the wrong electric box breakers were installed. They were to big for the wiring used which could have caused a fire. In total, he found 33 items that Fulton Homes had to fix. Once we sent the report to Fulton, they came and corrected all issues including blowing in the appropriate amt of insulation, etc. We would not have known any of these issues if Homewerx hadn't found them. We reviewed Angie's List to find the best home inspection company in the Phoenix metropolitan area based upon the reviews of those who had utilized services over the past few years. We were impressed with the evaluations of HOMEWERX, and decided to call two months before our home was to close to ensure that we were scheduled at the right time. As noted in other reviews, Shannon Hubbard personally contacted us after our initial email, and explained the scheduling process, what the inspection encompassed, and how much the visit would cost. My wife and I were impressed with the depth of this conversation, and the professional manner in which it was done. We scheduled our inspection, and due to various builder delays, continued to contact Shannon to keep her apprised. We rescheduled the calendar a numerous times, and sincerely appreciate her flexibility. HOMEWORK owner Scott Hubbard arrive at our property one day prior to the final builder walkthrough, and upon arrival, reported that the AC system was not yet operational, and also reported that the gas company had not installed the meter/ service yet. (Both were to have been turned-on prior to the inspector's visit.) We understood that these systems could not be tested at this time, and my wife and I accompanied Scott as he methodically went about the inspection routine. This was particularly helpful, since not only did we see work that was done incorrectly, but also work that still needed to be done. We also noted what was done well, and learned best practices for the new features and equipment found in this new construction house. Scott did not rush, and provided a very thorough review. He also is an excellent communicator, and helped us to understand a host of issues that we had little or no experience with in prior homes. We made personal lists, but Scott sent a thorough report the next morning with color pictures linked to a notation of workmanship deficiencies, equipment deficiencies, and safety concerns. We were well prepared for our superintendent the next morning before our final walk-through was to begin. Scott and Shannon run an excellent business. Both Scott and Shannon are both VETERANS of the armed forces, and are disciplined, thorough, bright, articulate, critical thinkers / problem solvers, organized, good communicators, and willing to do 'whatever it takes'. This is a top notch firm that is excellent in all that it does. Ten over ten for sure.

He was very thorough, and located some major problems with the plumbing system as well as a litany of minor issues -- exactly what you want from an inspector, so that you can know what you are getting into with a new house. He was professional and punctual, and gave us a clear picture of what to expect. Being out of state buyers, he let us know what we should be looking for that would be unique to AZ. Overall, a very positive experience. We used his coupon here on Angie's List.

Scott was very thorough. Went thru our new home step by step. Took approx. 3 hours. Would recommend Homewerx if you are looking to buy a new home and want to have piece of mind about your purchase.

As a Senior Engineer in Information Technology, I know the importance of customer service; fixing the problem sometimes isn't as important as setting the customers expectations, as well as performing your due diligence to ensure you do the job correctly. When I met Scott Hubbard, from the moment he arrived, I was completely confident that he would do a thorough job for us. Scott answered all of our questions, was patient, and thoughtfully inspected my new home. He went over every nook and cranny and gave my wife and I a verbal summary of what he found. I'd say that at least an hour of the time he was at our house was just answering questions, and expounded on topics we brought up to help us see the bigger picture of things - providing us a better understanding. Scott showed up on time and immediately showed a professional demeanor. After the excellent communications with his office - and the glowing reviews on Angie's list- I was not surprised. I considered buying an older home and Scott recognized the relaties of the purchase. He kindly assisted in managing the potential rip-off of a structural engineer who showed up and wanted $1,600 for a 5 minute inspection (review to be shared elsewhere). In addition to doing a thorough inspection, including a detailed report, Scott volunteered his ideas about grading and potential renovations/updates to the property. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the professional service provided by Homewerx and recommend this company wholeheartedly.

The Good: Overall I was pleased with the services provided by Homewerx. The inspection was thorough and well documented. The report was also promptly sent out to me via email. I also loved how the inspector would use an X-ray tool to do some additional check ups on areas he had concern over. This is definitely not a standard practice among inspectors and sets Homewerx apart, in my opinion. Additionally, when there was trouble getting my mold sample results on time (thanks to Fed-Ex), Homewerx worked diligently to resolve the issue. When they could not, they issued a partial refund to compensate for the trouble. They know how to treat a customer well and props to them for that. The Not-So-Great: I was not terribly fond of the format used for the report documentation. I'm a fan of in-line photos throughout the report, but instead this report format had the pictures grouped together in a separate section. My realtor, wife and myself found it hard to walk through the report easily since we had to jump between pages so much. A printed copy might be easier to deal with but that in itself is more inconvenient than a digital copy to refer to on a phone or tablet. Another complaint is that several of the minor things listed in the inspection report were not pointed out during the walk through with the inspector. Granted, these issues were VERY minor so I understand why he skipped them but I still would have rather had him point them out so I was not surprised by the issue when going through the report. Both of these are minor complaints and a matter of personal opinion, but still worth mentioning.

Shannon was my first contact. She is highly professional, and called me three times to let me know that the seller and my real estate agent and Homewerx were able to schedule an inspection for a time within our 10 day review period. Scott inspected the new place. He was very professional and thorough. He took a lot of pictures and went over the details with us when the inspection was completed. If there was a rating higher than an A they would get it.

They were easy to book, inspector showed up early and spent a half day inspecting our newly constructed home. He did an extremely thorough job and spotted several key items that needed further attention. He conducted a verbal review of his findings post the inspection and provided a comprehensive written review within 2 days after the inspection. Overall we were extremely satisfied with their service.

It was professional from the moment Scott walked in the door and present his card. With tools in hand and shoe covers he made me feel at ease that a professional inspection would be performed. He showed me concerns first hand that he thought may be important and climbed and took pictures of every inch of the house. I received the reports within 3-5 days depending if tests were preformed. My reports were in much detail along with corresponding pictures of problems I could not be more happy with Scotts inspection and professionalism. I will use Homewerx whenever I have a home inspection or in need of one of his other services in the future .
