Description of Work: 3G removed old counter-tops in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was replaced with quartz and the baths with granite. The best thing 3G did for us was to advise us that if we reduced the size of the kitchen top by 1 inch, we could avoid a seam in the counter-top. It was nice that they gave us that option rather than just going ahead and installing it in 2 pieces. They also supplied a sub-contracted plumber who was very efficient and great to work with. We would certainly use this company again and have already recommended them to another interested party. Also, 3G charges by the square foot rather than making you buy a full slab. They have a good selection of remnants from which we made our granite selections for the bathrooms at a cost savings.

Description of Work: I replaced my laminate counters with Granite in my kitchen and both bathrooms. Got three new sinks from them and I purchased new faucets/garbage disposal from home depot but used their plumber also for the install of that. To me they charged too much for the plumber but it was convenient. |1) Gary was great to work with, very personable, easy going and took me for a tour of their place; I was impressed and there was no pressure at all. I picked my granite and I did the paperwork with him. He also called to see how things were going during the install and at the time they were fine. |2) B for quality - due to the fact you really need to watch the installers. Check the granite against the backsplash to make sure everything looks even and level after they do it. Make sure the guys measure where they put the holes for your faucet so they are even. They did a uneven job drilling and I told them. To them it was no big deal, but I was not happy about it. They told me it would be fine, I was leary. The plumber had a hard time as a result but he was able to make it work. One back splash was cracked in the kitchen the full 6inches but not completely through, I don't think. I think the installers did it either installing or handling it for delivery. It was a fresh crack. I also had a deep pit with a 2 foot fissure across the main kitchen counter which I was not thrilled and very concerned so I did some reading on fissures. I noticed later that night when I felt the counter I realized the installers did not clean the counter good and they sealed over a dirty counter with grit on it. That ticked me off. My sink was left filthy looking like someone had cleaned their paint brushes in it. I could not get it cleaned. It took tons of elbow grease and I finally had to go to the store and purchase some Cameo Stainless Steel and Aluminum cleaner...Still was not enough and I went back and purchased some Brasso and had to use an SOS pad with it. It took me 2hrs yet it still was not all gone, but it was 100% better than before. A strong man probably could have done it in half the time. |3) B - on Responsiveness - They would have been rated an A - and one part really an F - so I left it at a B...Gary responds to my calls. I had a leak from the plumbing and they had to come out and fix that, he handled it That went fine. The installers of the granite jumped on whatever I told them I did not like immediately. I did not even list the other main issue of the granite since I have said enough and they worked with me on that..Though not 100% satisfied it will do. I had custom made wall plates for my electrical and one had to be trimmed because the high bar was higher than originally anticipated. The guy told me he would get it trimmed and bring it back within a week. A couple weeks later I had to call them and they mailed it. I think they forgot about it, but no biggie they mailed it to me and I was fine. They trimmed it perfect. My major gripe was I called Gary and told him I was leary about the pit in the kitchen with the two foot fissure going along the main counter. I wanted someone to come back and look at it to assure me it was ok and not cracked through, I had also planned to have them look at that fresh 6" crack in the backsplash. You can tell they had put colored sealer and rubbed on it to give it a clean look. I did not notice it until later. I had Giallo Fiorito in the kitchen so defects are not easy to see (that's a good thing with granite) . He told me someone would contact me that is in the area and come check it out. After a week or two can't remember since the work was done early Dec I called Gary back. He thought it had been taken care of and said he would get with the guy and make sure he got in touch with me. He told me the guys name but I forgot. I never heard from anyone. No one ever called me or came by. I was swamped with my job and work since year end so I never got back with them. I figured if something happened within the year I'd call them or even go to their location which is about 45 miles from me. I feel they should have followed up with me but did not. I do feel very strong that if an issue came up Gary would work to fix it, even after the fact. That is why I said I would work with them again. It is a lot and you just have to watch folks, I don't care what company it is. |I would have preferred much more seasoned installers that would take their time, do the job, check over it to make sure everything looked good and if they see something wrong, to take it upon themselves and correct it. These kids could do an excellent job, they knew what they were doing I just do not think the integrity is there as with some people who own their own business and do their own work Unfortunately it does not always work like that. | |This company also installs tile and replaces cabinets and restains cabinetry. Gary showed me some of that work and it was really nice. They had some beautiful samples of tile and originally I thought I may use them for tile. I am now in the process of having 750ft of tile done but I decided to go with an installer that owns his own business and that is all he has done all his life. I don't think I am going to have to watch this guy like I did these other young chaps, but I will still watch him. If I ever re-do my kitchen cabinets which I probably will one day, I will probably go back to Gary because of what he showed me. Gary is not doing the work himself he is the owner. I feel he is an honest man with integrity. Everything does not always work out exactly as you like but based on his character I would do business with him again and I did recommend him to a couple people. One more thing, I know several people that have had either Granite or Silestone done and they all went with other companies but they too all had similar issues, some way worse. I am saying this because when you deal with folks that subcontract or have other installers there are bound to be issues, nothing works out perfect so I say, Give this company a try, do not go to a prefab place that promises $29sq ft because by the time they are finish it all ends up being similar or the same price. I went to a few of them. Check these folks out, learn from others mistakes and know what to look for. I learned a lot through this experience. If I decided to get more granite laid I'd for sure call Gary, I know more now, and know what to look for and I'd make my concerns known upfront.

I am always interested in what customers have to say about our company and am always frustrated if we do not meet expectations. We try very hard to educate customers on granite and what to expect. Fissures, and small pits in stone are not the fault of a granite fabricator or installer. They are very frequently found in granite and come that way from the factory and often not something that can be"fixed". We will always do the best we can to make the stone look as good as we can for our customers, but people do need to understand that we can not fix things that took God millions of years to create. I wish every job went perfectly smooth--most do, but occasionally there are minor issues that arise--we will always take care of our customer to the best of our ability.
Description of Work: They did granite in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Excellent job. The guys that did the work were very professional and my whole experience from office staff to installers was great. Would definitely recommend.

The installation was quick and painless.........they were pro's
Description of Work: What I liked most about this company was the unique pieces of granite they have and their prices were reasonable. The granite offered was a little bit thicker than the standard size being offered out in the marketplace... also, this company gives you a little more variety for your money... so its possible to have a more high end look for your dollar. I paid about 400.00 more for their bid and got a custom look compared to cheaper engineered granite ... I'd seen just about everywhere in the phoenix metro area

Working with Stonehenge was fantastic. From the get go, Jonathan came out and did the free in home estimation. He was very knowledgeable in granite and gave us a lot of pointers on what to look for. I had many more companies come out for estimations but Stonehenge stuck in our minds because of professionalism, price, knowledge, and they could give us the size we wanted. They were very open to us coming down to the shop and looking at their slabs. When we finally decided to use them for our services Jonathan came out to the house for us to sign the paperwork instead of having us go all the way back to the shop. A day after the contract was signed Rebecca called to schedule the template work and installation. The guys that came out for the template work were professional, knowledgeable and quick. A week later a different crew came out and installed the countertops using the same professionalism. After the install Jonathan contacted me apologizing that he couldn't be there for the installation but wanted to know how everything went and I told him we loved it. We had a such a great experience with Stonehenge that I would recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: We had our old kitchen countertops removed and had granite installed. We went with a combination of full backsplash and four inch backsplash. All in all I think it ended up being 67sq. ft of granite.

They were very thorough with their quote, they gave me lots of information, suggestions. They did very precise measurements and told me the procedure. They didn't just come in and say yeah it's going to cost this, they were just very thorough. They actually recommended a granite that was cheaper than the one that I was looking at. I didn't want the granite to show every finger print and they recommended one that wouldn't and it was cheaper. They are a family run business. They came out when they were supposed to. I couldn't have been happier. Very professional, got in did what they needed to do and got out, no clean up for me, it was like they weren't even here.

The process was wonderful! We are strong proponents of using Angie's List to select our service and product suppliers. In this case, we first met the company we ultimately selected at the Phoenix Home and Garden Show. After touring the show and getting some ideas and companies to research, we began to follow up with both Angie's List and other granite installers. After receiving several estimates and talking with both potential installers and granite and marble companies, we chose Stonehenge Marble and Granite in Gilbert, Arizona. While we found several Angie's List granite installers to be highly qualified, Stonehenge brought a combination of great price, selection, and superb customer service to the table. We worked with Gary Rogers of Stonehenge. Gary has tremendous experience in this business and did a great job forming a working relationship with us. He developed our estimate, and provided several design suggestions to incorporate into our countertop replacement. He also met us when we selected our granite, gave us advice as to placement of our patterns on the granite slabs, and helped guide us through the tile selection process for our custom backsplash design. Even though our home is a long haul from the Stonehenge office, Gary was here for every important step in the process, making sure that everything was handled to our satisfaction. We also were able to tour the Stonehenge facility and watch workmen fabricating countertops and other segments. The shop foreman and scheduler were also very helpful as we made our way through the process. The Stonehenge installers first made templates of all the counter areas. Ten days later, right on schedule, they showed up to remove the old countertops and replace them with our chosen granite. They hauled off the old counters and then custom fit the new granite quickly and professionally. The installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Gary had also scheduled a plumber to reinstall our faucets, etc. Because of some complications (differences in the old sinks versus the new), the plumber worked late into the evening, then had to return the next morning with a couple extra parts and finish up. At no time, though, were we without water, and the kitchen was useable that evening. Once our new countertops were in place, we worked with Gary and a tile supplier on design of the custom backsplash. Once we settled on the tile design and grout color, Gary arranged to pick up supplies and scheduled the tile installer. A couple days later, our backsplash was installed and our project was complete! The new granite and sinks, along with the decorative backsplash, have really improved and updated the look of our kitchen. While the old white Corian was state-of-the-art 18 years ago, the new countertops set the tone for the future. Gary Rogers and the Stonehenge staff can be proud of the terrific job they have done for us.
Description of Work: Remove existing Corian countertops in kitchen, laundry room and guest bathroom, and replace with granite. Also replace three sinks and one faucet. Design and install custom backsplash in kitchen.

There was some delays due to cabinet delays, when they were finally able to come out here they finished quickly. They did everything they could under the circumstances. They did good quality work. They were easy to work with but scheduling was difficult since we were on the other side of town.
Description of Work: They put in cambria counter tops in my kitchen.
