They helped me move on the 11th of October. I had them for about 4.5 hours. It was a home to home move with about a mile and a half distance. A full crew came out of about 4 guys. They did a great job at wrapping the furniture. They make sure to take their time and wrap everything carefully. I was impressed with how much they care for other peoples belongings. They were referred to us by a friend and they were on Angie’s List too and offered a 10% discount.

Very friendly and went out of their way to make my move pleasant. I didn't have to stress out about how they handled things. In spite of the intense mid day sun with temps over 100 degrees they were very fast! I asked commented that they must need to take a break and they said no, the break was on the ride to the new place. I had some very large heavy awkward pottery and potted trees that they moved carefully and positioned them just where I wanted. In fact they placed everything where I wanted and even hooked up my Washer Dryer!

I got an hourly quote for 3 and 4 movers and a truck. 4 was higher but the company rep said that it would go smoother and faster and maybe even cheaper so I went with 4 movers. They showed up a few minutes ahead of schedule and started working right away. The move went well and they finished in less time than I expected.

They did an excellent job. It was extremely hot, but they still worked quickly and got everything done faster than I expected. They sent three guys. The refrigerator was so large they had to take off the doors to get it inside, but they did that very quickly and were professional. Hooked up the fridge, washer and dryer for me. I had to reschedule once but they were very accommodating about that. I received calls and emails directly from the owner, Paul - he provided excellent communication. I will definitely use them again when I need things moved or delivered. In fact I am planning to have them move a treadmill I am buying. I gave them a C on punctuality because they were late, but they did notify me. So overall I gave them an "A"

I contacted Donation Movers per the recommendations of my cousin who has used them in the past. They were very responsive and arranged for an on-site visit. This was accomplished by one of their teammates and then by the owner, Paul, to confirm our needs. Paul explained what services they could offer (including use of their boxes...which was included in the cost -- a huge savings!) and then any additional cost for pads (we were able to rent as a one-time fee rather than by the month) and tape/plastic wrap. Shortly thereafter I received a contract by email re-explaining the services, inclusions/exclusions, and cost and payment methods. On the day of the "event" -- The teammates and owner (Paul) showed up at the scheduled time and worked throughout the day until the packing and move was completed. Not only did they complete the job sooner than what was estimated, but they also saved me on the cost of a second storage container through the manner that the first was packed. Really appreciate the service that Donation Movers offered and would recommend them for other moves.
Description of Work: Donation Movers sent 5-6 persons to pack/box approximately 4000 SF home and then move the contents into a storage unit and my garage. All furnature, mirrors, pictures were padded and wrapped prior to moving.

Movers were to show up between 11am and 1 pm. At 3pm they were still at another job that they had to still complete. With a 45 minute drive to my home, they were going to show up close to 4:30-5:00pm. When I spoke to the owner, he said that this sort of thing happens all the time. If you need to move and expect professional service, find another moving company. I have moved over 5 times in the last 10 years and never had a problem like this!

To whom it may concern, We are sorry that we were going to be late. We even tried to compensate her for being late. We kept in contact with the customer and let her know several times about the issue we were having with a prior move. For the record when I said "it happens all the time", I wasn't speaking about Donation Movers. What I meant was it happens all the time in the industry. My crew leader had verified to come to her house and then when called the customer then said she cancelled because she had somewhere to be at 6. I'm sorry for her inconvienance but we would have finished the move, though it would have been late. I wish we would have had that opportunity. For what it's worth Donation Movers apologizes for being late.

I was told that I would be contacted 30 to 45 min before the crew would arrive. That call was right on time! The crew arrived and went to working wrapping the furniture and tv to prevent damage. They loaded it and then arrived at the new house almost at the same time as I did. Nothing was damaged and they arranged the furniture for me. The largest piece, (and I do mean Large!) would have been impossible for me to move so having them there to arrange it was a blessing. I will call this company again when I am ready to complete my move. They were great!

I called Donation Movers and spoke to Shannon who was friendly and very informative, we discussed the options available re: number of movers and how long it might take to do the full move. After talking to Shannon I did not hesitate to booked them and then a couple of days later had to change the move date, they were great and it was no problem for them to do this. On the day of the move I was given a window for arrival from 11.00am to 1.00pm, but the team were delayed, saying that they kept me well informed of the fact that they would be arriving late, calling me a couple of times to update me on their arrival time. Once they did arrive they got down to work really quickly after going through the walk through and listening to what we wanted moved and to donate and where we wanted it to go once at the new house. They were a great team of 4 guys, they were professional but also friendly and asked questions to ensure that they were loading things correctly. They were fast and efficient and in no time were taking the first load to the new house, where it was unpacked quickly and everything placed as we requested. The second load was very small and so in about 5 1/2 hours they were all done with the minimal of hassle and no damage to property. It was a pleasure to work with them and I would not hesitate to recommend Donation Movers to anyone looking for a great company of people to work with from the office team to the moving team. Thank you for doing such a great job, it was much appreciated.

They had to pick up furniture and boxes from two homes and one storage location and move it into my daughter's home. They arrived when they said they would, worked quickly but carefully and did the job within the time they estimated. This is the second time I have used them and both times their work was great. I've already recommended them to my friends.

I contacted Donation Movers via email to get a quote to move/relocate furniture out of five rooms in our house in preparation for new hardwood floors to be installed. I received a quote very soon after sending the email. The rates for their services were clearly detailed in the quote & very reasonable. I booked the move & received a confirmation email. I was given the "3:00-5:00" time slot for the day of our move. On the day prior to the move, I also receveid another confirmation & was told the movers would call prior to their arrival the next day. On the day of the move, the movers called as promised & were actually able to show up early at 1:30. A crew of three men showed up as promised in my quote. The move went exceptionally well. The crew was very careful with our large furniture items & were very mindful of watching out for doors & walls as they carried items out to the garage. They did a great job carefully stacking everything in the garage & offered up some blankets/pads to help protect our furniture. They were able to wrap up the job in just 90 minutes & the final bill matched the initial quote exactly. Looking forward to having them back next week to put our house back in order once the new floors are complete!

It was a nightmare. Crew showed up at 7:15 am with some worksheet stating they were there to only move not pack anything. They are not allowed to do anything that is not on ""their sheet" nor did they have boxes or packing material. Their answer was to call office and reschedule! There was no one they could call and nothing they could do about it. I panicked and begged them not to leave me and they agreed to "move items only". I made it clear to the crew, I knew this mess was not their fault, accepted offer of drinks / ice. After talking for awhile I was told it was common for orders to be mixed up (change in office staff) and Paul (salesman/owner) does have a cell phone number but does not want to be called. I called Paul, the office had not yet returned my earlier message, When I spoke with Paul his primary concern was how did I get his number. Paul had no idea who I was, what I ordered but was sure I was wrong; even denying I ever sent email requesting him to come out. After talking with one of the crew he called back, mad at me and accusing me of mistreating his crew! All I could do was apologize. I was at his mercy, I had to be out of my home the following day. Paul stated since I had so much to pack he would send a crew of 4 to pack and move the rest of my home that afternoon. He was charging the higher rate but would waive the gas fee. I agreed. The 3pm crew showed up and I was told "their worksheet" stated to only bring boxes, not packing materials (primary reason I still needed them was to pack kitchen). They were also told by Paul to charge the gas fee. They refused to call for clarification, but did find leftover packing material in truck and said they would pack but could only move items to one location. By the time they said they were done, I was having a difficult time due to my disability. I did not check their work prior to leaving, (it's a kitchen- right? -no hidden areas-). They ended up leaving 1/2 the kitchen! I did not realize how much supervision they needed and they don't have anyone who oversees their work and they obviously do not check. Yard and driveway had to be cleaned, water bottles, soda cans, plastic tape, cigarette butts, etc. The only receipt I received was via email with total dollar amount. I have no idea if they took 10% for Angie's coupon (1st crew had hard copy), what hours they billed for, gas fees, nor did I receive a list for donated items. I forwarded to Paul the confirmation of services to be done (the one he sent me)and copy of sent email requesting him to come out to home...Paul never responded or followed up with me. The result was the worst move I have ever had, the most expensive for the services I received and with the worst customer service.. The whole point of hiring a moving company was because I am disabled and not physically able to pack / move. I have used Bekins in the past for a similar type of move; it was a great experience, reasonably priced. This time I wanted to give business to a local company. Thank goodness for friends and family who packed and move all the items Donation Movers forgot.
Description of Work: Services requested, paid for and received confirmation for was packing and moving of entire house. They did end up moving most items (thanks to family and friends helping), items for storage were mixed up with house (storage unit needs to be repacked) and they packed maybe 1/2 of items (everything packed has to be repacked and box marked for contents)..

I would like to begin by saying what business owner doesn't have a personal cell number? It's what it says "personal". [removed member name] never contacted us about packing. It was never mentioned at all until my movers arrived on the day of service. Why would we schedule a pack and move and not do the packing. That's precisely what we do. Second off I did schedule another crew to come and pack what she wanted done for the same afternoon. [removed member name] was frantic and cursing at my guys and she made a joke out of it. We are a professional moving company not some fly by night Craigslist special!!!! When you set up your own move you receive what you schedule. If you want to tell an curse at people hire them off the street not Angie's List. I will also point out we were on time and she still gave us a C. No pleasing [removed member name] and as far as for dignifying her comments I would love to see what confirmation of packing was sent to her. Didn't happen... Schedule it right next time. Have a great day.

They have a very detailed web questionnaire regarding what you will be moving.... it works great and is easy to use. It's a good tool to help a person think about what is moving. They emailed a reply immediately and a quote within a few hours. They confirmed the day before the scheduled move and called when they were on their way on moving day. Three guys and a truck... very nice, professional and nice! I have used them in the past to move a refrigerator for my mom...

They arrived on time and worked efficiently the entire time they were loading the truck in Chandler. They were all professional and polite. They shrunk-wrapped and blanketed all of the furniture, TVs, artwork and tables and chairs and everything was loaded carefully into the truck. They had to drive the truck two and one-half hours through the mountains to Cottonwood and then unload in my new home. They finished in less time than was estimated. I really liked Mark and the rest of his crew. I didn't have any broken glass or dinged furniture. I would definitely hire Donation Movers if I ever move again!

Communications were very good. Crew had a cancellation and requested they arrive earlier, I was able to accommodate most of their request. I had boxed everything that would fit into boxes, they wrapped the TV &/or furniture as needed with both moving blankets and stretch wrap. All were transported in a 24' trailer that had padded side walls, with numerous anchoring options. Hanging clothes were transported, hanging on a strong strap in the trailer, no need to box up or otherwise pack up. Granted it was just a 1 bedroom apt. without moving appliances, however the entire move, load and unload took just 2.5 hrs with the 3 man crew as contracted.

We were set for an 11a-1p arrival time. This was going to be the crews 2nd move of the day. The crew called at about noon and said they would be late and would arrive between 2-3p. No problem, as long as the move is completed today. Cody and his crew arrived at about 2:30. We all did a walk through of the house and I pointed out some items that were staying, the items that needed disassemble and pretty much looked at everything. Cody then documented the time, and these guys got to work. They brought with them a large trailer, shrink wrap and lots of moving blankets. They loaded all the boxes and then got to work on the big furniture, and odd/ends. These 4 guys were in constant motion and well orchestrated. The trailer was stuffed full and packed neatly. All mirrors, frames, paintings, etc were wrapped well and protected. There wasn't quite enough room in the trailer for everything, but they allowed me to determine what stayed behind and what went in the trailer. I just had to move some smaller items in my truck the next day. No big deal. They loaded the entire house and we were out of there in about 2,.5 hours. We had about 30 minute drive. We got to the new house and immediately started unloading. They got the entire trailer unloaded, the 2 furniture items reassembled and boxes mostly in the right place in 1 hour. They were working! I would definitely use them again, but since moving is such a PIA I won't be moving anytime soon...sorry! The only thing that would improve this companies moving is the use of mattress covers. Maybe I should have supplied them but forgot to check with Paul if they were included. Once again I used the 4 man move @ $100/hour, with a $55 fuel charge. They did the complete move in 4 hours. The best $455 I've spent on the new house.
Description of Work: I used their service for a 4 man move. I had packed the boxes already and had some stuff staged in the garage. They had to disassemble 2 pieces of furniture. It was a 4 bedroom, single story smaller (1500 sq ft) home with a 2 car garage.

These guys are the best. After a horrible time with our selling and closing on our old and new houses, Paul took care of us. We had to cancel the moving truck and get PODS to put in storage; he sent out his crew to just pack us up. Then, our closing kept getting pushed and I had to cancel three more times until we got a firm date and time. The other crew was just as terrific, as they were bumping into the sellers movers. They kept track of what was ours, and even caught the "movers out" taking our stuff into their moving truck. They helped put our furniture together as well. I would definitely use them again....Paul has the patience of a saint, considering I called and changed our moving time at least ten times.

They came right on time, did everything asked for and then they cleaned up and excess papers. They were absolutely great. We had a great experience. The movers were professional and took a lot of care. They were also really efficient. When a couch was too big to maneuver through the hallway, they found a way to get it through the window from the outside. After they had left, I realized the glass from one of our wedding pictures was shattered. It was packed up in a box, so I didn't realize it until afterward. When I brought this up to the owner, he immediately offered to replace it. Great customer service. I highly recommend!

Things looked ominous at the storage sites we rented in Nevada. When we arrived Donation Movers had left one of our lamp shades and it was draped over the antenna of a near-by truck. Is this the action of a professional, responsible mover? OUR possessions, everything was clustered together creating an impossible situation. He did not shrink wrap and blanket all the furniture he as purports in his emails to us, a main reason we used his service. Furniture, possessions were damaged. Do NOT USE SCHMITT_DONATION MOVERS. He is OK for day moves (we used them once before), BUT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE SCHMITT AND DONATION MOVERS FOR A BIG MOVE. HE cares only about his pocketbook. When he underestimates the cost, according to him, he attempted to make the client, us, pay for his mistake. And if you don't pay extra dollars, then you might visit our experience.
Description of Work: It was a three move from Arizona to Nevada. During the middle of the move,Paul Schmitt curtailed the move; he had underestimated the cost of the move and expected his customer, us, to pay for what he claimed the shortfall: the funds rent an additional truck and driver to complete the move. They finished the move at night. We had no idea what they were doing as we had retired for the evening, trusting the men to keep their promises about strict AILES. He finally rented the additional truck and diver . The result was chaos in our three,10 feet by 30 feet storage sites, everything clustered together. NO AILES, AS WE HAD AGREED. No way to find anything without renting strong people to moves things about.

Well just so all Angie's List members know the truth. This guy emptied a truck he rented out after he realized it wouldn't fit in our two trucks that we agreed upon. He forced me to use a third truck at no extra cost to him. It was our agreement to use only two trucks. After all was said and done this guy left my guys in Henderson with no aspirations of paying anyways as he told my crew leader that he already paid. This was a scam from the beginning. If you notice they used us before while they lived in state but now that they moved out of state they paid with an American Express card and disputes the charge and stole $4100 from me and my family. They never had any damage to their items and they used another company after the fact to move their things again. How do we know that there was any damage done by us. Look at the number of A rated reviews on here and tell me I'm lying? This is straight up theft! I am a veteran business owner who was scammed by a scam artist. Thanks pamela and Stuart Walmsley. I hope your happy. There is actually a lot more to the story and I'm done with them. Lawsuit time!!!
