I told Javier that I was told that I should have 2 springs for double garage door(I had a single spring) when I had warranty maintenance by another vendor; that I could get injured if the spring broke. Javier explained that springs break when the door is down so no chance of getting hurt. He was also quite clear that I need not add a second spring but if this current one broke to get 2 springs as a replacement. We talked about life of springs which he said was about 10 years so since my spring was about 10 years old, I had him install a new pair of springs. Work was done quickly and door works great. I also used my Angie's coupon. Will definitely us A Better Garage Door Company in the future.

The provider did an excellent job tuning up the existing garage door and rollers and installing our garage door opener which we had already purchased. It's a taller door than normal and honestly it's probably the quitest and smoothest operating door I have ever seen. Prior to that we could barely manually open it because the rollers and springs were so bad and out of adjustment. The technician was so friendly and good that my father even hired them to tune up the garage door at our friends house they were renting at.

I have used this company many times before I became a member of Angie's List. My son needed a recommendation of who to use because he has a three car garage (double garage door and single garage door). He needed to have a garage door opener installed on the single garage door because he was going to start parking a car in that space. I recommended this company and I went to their house to wait for the installer to come because my son and daughter-in-law were working. They arrived on time and got right to work. It took them about1 1/2 hrs to do the job. Very efficient. Knew just what he was doing. There was an outlet already in the ceiling so he didn't have to install one. He was done within the 1 1/2 hrs and I was able to leave. That price included an outdoor keypad and two remotes. The brand of opener was Lift Master. This company is great. I have used them to replace broken garage door springs and they have always been on time. I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

Couldn't be more pleased, they are punctual, called to let you know when on the way to the home, & saved us money on repairs. Also checked our 2nd garage door and told us we didn't need a tune up yet - got to love someone who's honest enough to tell the truth rather than make a couple extra bucks. Love this company!!

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service. The service was excellent. There was nothing due given on the invoice. This is the first time that I’ve used them. They were just very good and very personable. The overall experience with them was excellent. Their price was good.

This company is excellent. Making the appointment was pleasant and efficient. Tim called 10 minutes before the appointment to say he would be thirty minutes late. He then arrived promptly. He was informative, efficient, and very pleasant. He educated me on information useful to me about maintaining my garage door and opener. He also programmed the garage door opener in my car while he was here...no extra charge. I had the best possible experience with this company and will definitely use them again.

We have used them before, and we like the company. We have also used another company before and we didn't like them, that is why we went back with them. Their prices are very reasonable and they are knowledgeable.

This is the second time we've used A Better Garage Door and we are very happy with the service. I always call at least one other service provider to double check prices and they all are within 10% of each other. The difference with A Better Garage Door is I feel confident after using them they'll never try to 'up-sell' you or do anything you don't need. You can save time by just calling A Better Garage Door and setting up your service call. It's a husband/wife team and they are very professional.

They fixed our garage door. There was something broken on it.

We were very satisfied, and they were very speedy. They completed the job in a very timely manner. They were very courteous, nice, and we were very pleased with the service.

The door would get stuck after opening only two feet. I used the emergency release cord on the opener to free it so I could get the car out. After watching it operate several times it appeared to me that the trolley that rides along the rail to pull the door up was jamming a foot or two into it's travel. I called A Better Garage Door to have someone come out and look at it. The next morning Javier called me and indicated he would be by between 10AM and noon. He arrived right at 10AM which was great for me since when he called I told him I preferred if it could be closer to 10. I explained what was happening and he began checking things out. I have to say that I am very impressed with Javier. He is a very professional and competent individual. Very engaging to talk to. He determined that the door was out of proper balance and the rail needed lubrication. He rebalanced the door, tested the opener and made some adjustments, lubricated the rail, door hinges, springs and rollers. He tested the operation of the door again and everything is working perfectly now.

They were really good. They were efficient and punctual. They had good service.

I have one company that I have never run into such a wonderful company for my garage doors. A Better Garage Door Company, Inc. They are absolutely fabulous. Absolutely the best company I ever dealt with. They are on time, they don't rip you off and they do excellent work. If you have something later you call them back and they are right there. They stand behind their products. They are fabulous to work with them. They came out last year in December and last week because I had a garage door that wouldn't open and they were right there. They had to replace two circuit boards, and that charge was $100 for the boards. And it's a $75 service call because I live way out in North Scottsville. They come out and do oiling and all that and they installed a keyless entry. That was only $124. Unheard of. A pleasure to work with.

Our garage door came off its track. It was just hanging from one side. Yikes! A Better Garage Door repairman was there before days end to fix it! I was so glad to have it repaired before nightfall. Very responsive and reasonably priced service.

Service from the first phone call to the end of the service at our home was excellent. I couldn't believe they could fix it the same day. The service repair representative was courteous, knowlegeable and effiecient. The rate quoted was the rate charged and there was no attempt at upselling. I would use this company again and will recommend them to family and friends.

We purchased a house where the previous owners insulated the garage door with house insulation. Effective, but overly heavy for the door. It caused several issues for the door including rubbing on the railing and deactivated the lift safety feature. The repair man did a great job fixing all these issues. He discovered some missing bolts from the railing and adjusted the springs. The door now works perfectly. He was also extremely prompt and very professional.

Even though our garage door was taller and a pain in the rear to change out the rollers they didn't charge anything extra above the quoted price. They also did an awesome job installing our garage door opener and the door which we could barely open and close before now runs so smooth and quite that you barely hear it moving. I would strongly recommend A Better Garage Door Company to anyone.

I contacted ABG based on the strong Angie List reviews. ABG indicated that the schedule was full the day I called and indicated I would receive a call the following day. I appreciated that they were honest and open about the schedule and did not over promise. The next day I received a call from Tim, owner/technician. We scheduled a time for ABG to review the situation. Tim quickly assessed the issue, explained the corrective action and cost. He completed the repair and did some small repairs free of charge. He also explained to me cost/benefit of garage door replacement if that were to be an issue in the future. After Tim left, I noticed that there was a small gap between the door and floor. Tim came back and fixed the issue and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thankful for ABG's service and would definitely call on them in the future. Updated (3/14/13) Had a follow on issue with the garage not opening. Tim came a separate trip and fixed the issue free of charge. He concluded that the problems were interrelated and did not charge me. This is an example of great customer service. He has definitely earned by trust and loyalty.

My garage door was making an a very loud, grating noise when it was opening and closing and seemed to be straining when opening. My handyman oiled the mechanism with a commercial garage door solution the previous company that installed new spring a few years ago recommended. A Better Garage Door, called at 8:00 a.m. of the day of the service to tell me the service man would be there between 9:00 a.m. and 11 a.m. Javier arrived promptly at 9:00 a.m. He listened to me, then looked the problem over - said I was using the wrong stuff - even though it had been recommend. He explained why it was wrong and why I had a mess of the garage floor was due to its use. I also had a problem with the bottom door seal - the weather stripping had shrunk over the years and now let water in. I had NOT mentioned this when I made the initial call. After trying to see if what he had on the truck would work , Javier informed me that the door was so old that they no longer make that particular door including the weather stripping and the metal piece that holds it in place and suggested he replace it. Javier was efficient, clearly identified and articulated the problem and cost to mitigate it. The Spring adjustment, etc. were including in the service call. Javier knew what he was doing. Definitely an asset to the company. My garage door now operates almost silently. Great job The cost was reasonable. I had printed out a coupon for $10.00 from Angies List so the bill was very reasonable. This is an excellent company - I would highly recommend it.

We just moved into a home and the garage door operating system was in terrible condition. Every time we opened it, it made HORRIBLE, LOUD, EXCRUCIATING NOISES; it sounded like it was going to crack into a million pieces! We responded to this Angie's List special offer which included replacement of rollers, lube & tune. I have waited far too long to write this review so cannot remember the offers cost but do remember it being a very good price for the service promised. Needless to say, we were not surprised that more needed to be done! Tim also replaced the gear kit for an additional $65 (while not part of the special offer, we considered it a good value as well.) In the 4+ months since the work was done, the door has been operating beautifully and as quietly as can be expected. What a pleasure! We would use A better Garage Door Company and Tim again and recommend you do as well!
