We called after hours and left a voice mail. They called back the next morning. They replaced both springs. Garage door working properly now.

He finished with 30 minutes, explaining to me what he was doing as he went along. Technician was knowledgeable and efficient.

The garage door works just fine now. I would definitely use this service again.

Service tech arrived promptly as scheduled to replace garage door springs and seals. He had the equipment with him and finished the job completely. He oiled and adjusted the garage doors, and they work perfectly. He was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He showed us how to properly maintain the garage door opener and doors. Pricing was competitive. Very pleased with service and would definitely use them again. We will recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Tim arrived about 1 pm, inspected and then cycled the door a couple of times and proposed the following: complete lubrication and greasing of all garage door and automatic closer elements and, if I wished to further reduce door operating noise, replace builder's model door rollers [10 of them] with an upgraded roller with ball bearings at $4 each. I accepted his proposal. There's not a great deal I can add to the many, very positive comments contained in other members' reports. After finishing his work, the "new and different noises" I had been hearing were gone, and sounds from operating the door had been reduced several orders of magnitude -- all well and good. But what really impressed me included such things as his thorough explanation of the characteristics and quality of my garage door; his recommendation not to use silicone spray or WD-40, as some do, but rather just a good quality 30w oil and Lubriplate Multi-Purpose Lithium Grease [he gave me a tube] for the opener gear -- and then showed me how to do it -- all so that, as he put it, I wouldn't have to call him for routine door maintenance. Plus, he suggested a solution for a problem that I'd been having for the 4-hinge, 8-foot solid core doors throughout our house [it worked!] -- and he was just a really nice guy to have around! Total charge -- $118.58 [$75 + 10x$4 + tax]. This was a top-notch experience -- thank you Tim, Angie's List and its members!

It went very well. He did a very good job and was very professional. I had a garage door opener that was malfunctioning and he advised me that I not replace both of them because one of them didn't need it but it needed to be exchanged for the other door so he did all that work. He kind of talked me out of spending money that I didn't need to spend. The price was very good.

The worker from A Better Garage Door Company was very prompt and very good. The guy was very fair. I had gotten a quote from someone else and they told me it would be over $400! This guy came out and addressed the problem right away and it was only $100. He was not ripping me off and I appreciate that.

Excellent transaction. Serviceman knew exactly what do do and how to proceed. Gave me tips. Courteous, trustworthy and sociable. Wish all my transactions were as this. I definitely will use again.

I called on a Friday afternoon for a service call to check my garage door wiring and set up an appointment for first thing Monday AM. Tim quickly determined the problem and explained my options. I just expected him to repair the door, but he included a complete servicing in with the price. I'm probably more happy about that than the repair because my garage door has never opened and closed so smoothly and quietly in 15 years. I will not hesitate to use A Better Garage Door Co. again and have already recommended them.

It went very well. The technician, Javiar was very professional and did an excellent job.

Spring broke on Sat afternoon of a holiday weekend. Left a message on answering machine. Received a phone call at 7AM (with an apology for calling so early) and arrived at 9AM. Repairman was friendly and quite professional. Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

At first I was concerned because the answer machine said they were on vacation and not available. However, it also referred me to an employee number. He took the call and was professional and informative. He knew his product and the market. He arrived when he was scheduled and removed and replaced a double car garage door. I did this all over the phone as I was not in town and this is a rental property. The renter told me they were respectful and did very nice work. I drove by to see the door and the color was as represented over the phone and was a good recommendation. (the installer told me we would need to get the door painted to match the house but he would get as close as possible) I would use them again and plan to meet the owners who followed up with a phone call.

They came out the same day as my incident, on time and we discussed options. I thought the whole bottom panel might need to be replaced but we were able to bend the bottom part of the frame and the service worker fastened it to the bottom of the door. He replaced the rubber strip for me as well. All the way around a pleasant experience and not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

When my garage opener was having difficulty rising i called this company as I had used them in the past for service. The receptionist set an appointment for the next day. The service person called before he arrived and was timely. He explained that the door was stuck and was not broken but considering it was over 20 yrs old and the sensors were not working it would be a good idea to replace it. He explained the different options and costs. After my decision was made he returned the next day in a timely period and called before hand. He installed the opener and explained how to make adjustments if needed. He also said to call him if any difficulty. After 10 days it appeared that the check I wrote had not been cashed by the company. When I called to inquire, the women who answered my call was rude, short and curt and said she didn't cash checks everyday and appeared put off by my request. She was annoyed that I questioned the fact that my check hadn't cleared, when in fact I wanted to make sure they had the correct account number. If I have to deal with this women again I will not use their service. She does not present a positive image of the company.

Everything turned out very well. They came when they said they would and were very reasonably priced.

Very professional, on time, and no "hard sell" for things that may be needed in the future. I'm very satisfied with the entire experience.

They did not show up till 4 PM so I had to wait in the house all day till they got here. They replaced door spring and trolley in a timely manor did a good job. I would recomend them.

Tim (owner) bid the job, discussed options, and did the work on the scheduled date. High quality materials and good attention to detail on the installation.

Excellent service all around. I described problem over phone, got quoted reasonable estimate, Tim was here within 2 hours. He also fixed 2nd door which was off the roller for no charge. Very personable and professional. I'll surely go back to him when my opener eventually needs replacement. I give him 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Very well. Tim was able to assess the damaged parts and finish the job within 45 mins. He spotted an area of the door that was not very well constructed and offered to add a support bracket which usually extends the service of the door with repeated openings/closings for an extra $20. He tested the door to ensure that it opened/closed and tested the sensitivity for accidental closings with the "shoulder test" where Tim stood there and let the door hit his shoulder to make sure that it would go back up. After everything was completed he even removed the infra red sensors at the bottom of the door and repositioned them because he said that they weren't at an "optimal" height. In total he was: 1. On time. 2. Honest 3. Friendly 4. Added value where he did not have to. I would highly recommend this company for your garage door service needs in the future.

Very responsive; competent and knowledgeable installer. Actually cleaned and fixed my "old" opener when he came over for the estimate and suggested I keep it, but I really did want to replace it since it was so old. My only disappointment is that I had to hire someone else to do the painting of the new door, although they did assist me in finding a painter. I would highly recommend them! Regarding price, I did not shop the price, so my "B" on pricing is based on what i would think it should cost, without much research. The timing length was as much my schedule as theirs---if I were available, I don't think it would have taken as long. The door had to be ordered.

I was very satisfied with the service. They did a great job, they were reasonably, priced, and I would definitely use them again. I would recommend them as well.

I first thought I would need a new motor, but after going with Tim's advice Ii saved a couple hundred bucks. He is very knowledgeable, answering all my questions with friendly explanations...rather then one word answers.
