If you're tired of contractors who show up for the bid process, have someone else do the work and then come back only for the money, Perfection Concrete Works will restore your confidence in contractors. Tom Sautter, the owner of Perfection Concrete Works, is a "hands-on" kind of guy. He not only bids the job fairly and ensures the work is done the way it was agreed upon, he works right alongside his crew! Tom came out the day after we called him to look at the site. He suggested a design and pattern for the pavers, measured the area to be covered, and gave us a quote. We then surprised him by asking Tom to quote a cement sidewalk around one side of our house that would not block an existing French drain (the area floods during heavy rains, so a French drain was previously installed to carry excess water to the street. This drain was covered with crushed rock but was difficult to walk on or push mowers and wheelbarrows over, so we wanted to cover it with concrete, if possible). Tom measured the area and called the next day with an idea for the sidewalk and a quote for the work. He suggested we install a channel-like drain in the middle of the sidewalk that has holes drilled in the bottom so it drains into the French drain below. The sidewalk would slope toward the drain in the middle. Because he was referred to us by someone we trust, we decided to hire Tom and his crew. They began work three days later. We were pleasantly surprised to see Tom working alongside his men. The first day, they leveled and prepared the site for the pavers, spread the sand base and compacted the area. The pavers were delivered and neatly stacked near the area. The second day, they laid the pavers in the pre-determined design, set the edge pavers in concrete and filled in the cracks between pavers with sand. That same day, the crew also prepared the walkway area for concrete. They removed the gravel, leveled the area and built the forms. Afterward, they cemented the drain in place (in the middle of the walkway, over the existing buried French drain). The third day the concrete was poured and finished and the forms were removed. The crew left the work area very clean and tidy after each of the three day's work. They even swept the street! We would highly recommend Tom and his crew for any hardscape work. They are a pleasure to have on the jobsite! We hope that you give him a chance on your job...Tom Sautter and his crew are well worth the wait!
