 + -1 moreCharles was very flexible about our schedule and arrived right on time. He and his assistant promptly cleaning out our vent in about 30 minutes. Charles also explained some of the other services he offers (but no "hard sell") My only suggestion would be that he check the wheels of the machine he uses to blow air through the dryer vent.. After he left, we noticed some greasy marks that had no been there before. These streaks wiped up, but those wheels need to be inspected for dirt or grease.

 + -1 moreCharles and helper came by within 2 hours of my call. I told him my location and that I was willing to work with him on scheduling my appointment when he had other stops in the area. He said that he would call me right back. Charles called back within 10 minutes and asked if it would work for me to have them come by within 2 hours. Him and his assistant came by and went right to work. They were courteous, clean and professional. There was no pressure for other work etc. They were in and out and I feel good about the service.
Description of Work: Charles and helper came to clean my dry vent and duct work. They were in my laundry room and on the roof. The process did not take much time, but they were very thorough. They left my place clean and as they found it.

 + -1 moreWhen Charles discovered the problem with the wall vent opening, he originally planned on obtaining an additional part which would allow the vent hose to make a sharp turn without decreasing its efficiency. Then he thought of an alternative idea which was easier and would accomplish the same end result. He recommended that the dryer be cleaned out since all of the lint had been backing up into it for the past two years. I actually would not have paid to get my vent cleaned if it weren't for the Angie's List Big Deal. Now I am so very glad I did and that Charles came out. I felt he was trustworthy and did not try to oversell me on anything. My dryer is working well, smells better and I have no worry about a potential fire.
Description of Work: I purchased a "big deal" which provided a dryer vent cleaning for only $59.00. I had been feeling that my old dryer was simply not catching all of the lint and I was worried about the possibility of a dryer vent fire. Charles pulled the dryer away from the wall and discovered that the vent opening was sticking out too far from the wall. This meant that the tubing was crunched up behind the dryer so that it was at a 90 degree angle and did not allow the lint to exit. He fixed this problem, cleaned the dryer vent and cleaned my dryer. The dryer vent cleaning was $59. and the repair to the wall vent opening then subsequent cleaning of the dryer was another $60.

 + 0 moreThe experience was pleasant with the exception of what exactly was included in "dryer vent cleaning" which ended up in an additional cost.
Description of Work: i purchased the Angie's Deal of the Day for Dryer Vent Cleaning at the cost of $59.00. i called the company to set up the appointment and was very lucky to get an appointment for the NEXT day! They gave me a two hour time frame. They called within the two hour time frame to give me an exact time for arrival, which they kept. The dryer vent cleaning went very quickly. Unfortunately, I did not understand that "dryer vent cleaning" did not include the actual dryer and lint trap. For that to be cleaned, it was an additional $45.00. Since I didn't feel that it would be helpful to only have one part of the dryer ventilation cleaned, I went ahead and had the entire dryer cleaned.

 + 0 moreCharles is very courteous and friendly - he was in and out in about 90 minutes - would have been less but he is VERY thorough and with all the dryer clogs - he was up and down on the roof to be sure the dryer was operating properly - that the air was venting full blast to be sure he had gotten things going. Several complete blocks in the air coming out the roof vent due to the excessive amount of lint were unusual and he is a perfectionist. VERY pleased!
Description of Work: Purchased the Angies List offer for Chimney Sweep - he did a great job. Felt it was a GREAT value for cleaning and inspection of the inside and outside system. We recently purchased the house and having had the pleasure of experiencing one chimney fire - I didn't want another. The exterior did need silicone sealing, which he did at a fair price, and now we will be comfortable using our fireplace. He offered, in a very low key way, to clean the dryer vents - and since we are new in the house, we decided it would be a good idea. It ended up being a GREAT idea! He pulled out 5-6 football size wads of lint that we could see - and that is what did not go into his hi-powered vacuum system! Oh, btw, there was a petrified R A T that had entered off of our roof in the mix. UGH My dryer now dries in half the time it used to and we are SO glad we did it ! Since he was already here cleaning the chimney, we only paid an additional $79 for the dryer vent. MONEY WELL SPENT !

So I bought an additional service for $79. I am so glad I did. My dryer vent was in far worse shape than my chimney! Not only was it chock full of lint, but he even found a bird carcass in the line. Description of Work: A very polite gentleman showed up on time to clean my two sided chimney. He very carefully taped one side off and proceeded to brush and vacuum the flue. Once the chimney was brushed clean he very thoroughly cleaned up after himself.
