Description of Work: The dryer vent was thoroughly cleaned out. He shortened the hose connecting the dryer to the wall, making it easier to manage. He also cleaned out the lint trap in my dryer-- it looked like a brand new dryer! I was extremely pleased with the service!

 + -1 moreThey were not able to schedule service for a few days because of the high demand for their services. I thought that was completely understandable. But, once I was scheduled, they arrived on time, communicated very well, and finished the service within 20 minutes - very efficient! They also were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely hire them again and refer them to friends and family.

 + -1 moreAfter arriving, he checked the inside of the fireplace and chimney from the family room (where the fireplace is located) for structural issues and reported that everything looked OK. He then cleaned the fireplace of all ashes, etc., using a large vacuum. I was pleased to see no ashes or soot were emitted from the vacuum, so the family room where the fireplace is located was not affected. He also checked the chimney from the roof to make sure there was a proper cap on the chimney. When completed, he provided some suggestions (for example, he noted the chimney flue was opened; he recommended it be closed when the fireplace isn't in use to conserve heating and cooling) and he described additional service available (no pressure to buy) and left his card. The process was painless and did not take long.

Description of Work: Golden Dryer Vent & Chimney Sweep came to the house and cleaned all of the air vents in the house, swept the chimneys , cleaned and wraped the air vents with plastic to keep any new dust and stuff out, work was still being done in the home. They also placed caps on the chimneys to keep live sparks from flying out and also to keep live things from getting in. They were on time, very fast and completed the work with in the time they said.  + -1 moreWe originally signed up for the chimney cleaning, which was done efficiently and with care. Charles also discovered some minor cracks in our chimney cap which he showed to us and caulked for a small additional fee. We also inquired about the dryer vent service and agreed to have that done as well. He showed us the roof cap for our dryer vent as it was partially blocked with lint build-up due to the design of the cap. He cleaned the vent from top to bottom and recommended options for keeping the cap from getting blocked with lint in the future. We have a gas dryer and it was working fine, so we were unaware of any problems until Chalres took the time to show us what was happening. We plan to use his service on a regular basis in the future.

 + -1 moreHe covered all open areas of my fireplace and cleaned out the chimney. He checked the flue and all working parts of the fireplace. He climbed up onto the roof to check on the cap and vents. He was able to determine that a "drilling noise" I was sometimes hearing was actually a woodpecker. He was efficient, knowledgeable, and professional.

Description of Work: Charles (Owner of Golden Dryer Vent & Chimney Sweep) and his wife did an outstanding job of throughly cleaning the dryer vent to the outside. We can't say enough about how thorough he was and accomodating to our requests. All in all my wife and I believe he did a much better job than I could have done. In fact we liked his dryer vent cleaning so much, we have now had him schedule us for regular vent cleaning every six months. Plus, we had him back on April 19, 2013 (Sat.) to do a complete cleaning of our heating and air conditioning vents. Again, an OUTSTANDING JOB! Charles and his crew of four did a much better job and had a state of the art process than others we've used in the past.

 + -1 moreOur overall experience with Golden Dryer was EXCELLENT. Charles and his wife are very hard workers. They thoroughly cleaned out our dryer vent and machine. Our dryer is now drying again and even better than before!!!!! Charles is a very caring and concerned individual - he told us that while on our roof (which we share with other condo units), several of the vent roof caps were smashed down (like someone stepped on them while working or installing things on the roof). A smashed roof cap can restrict ventilation - so we appreciated his help in trying to fix ours and for informing us that there was such a problem - which I reported to our HOA. We are now on Charle's schedule to have our vent cleaned by him on an annual basis. THANK YOU Golden Dryer for your great service!!!!!
Description of Work: Our dryer was not drying properly. We did not believe it was the heating element or some other mechanical issue because it is a good brand and the top was hot. We knew it was venting issue. Also, we reside in a condo and as a relatively new owner were unsure if the dryer vents were ever cleaned. Because of their stellar reports - they are an A++++ Angie's list member, we contacted Golden Dryer. Charles was very friendly, helpful, and flexible - he was able to promptly schedule us - our appointment was on a Sunday, which worked well for us. Charles and his wife arrived on time and went right to work. He not only cleaned our dryer vent - which was overdue and in fire hazard condition, but he thoroughly cleaned the inside of the dryer - which because the actual vent was clogged, the lint had no where to go and was accumulating in our machine. They are a very efficient team!

 + 3 moreThis service visit went great. Charles shows up with his wife Paula and they go to work right away. He did a great job on the dryer, not only cleaning the huge buildup of lint, but sealing up some leaks that were in the vent as well. He did a complete job of cleaning the chimneys and I felt they went the extra mile by cleaning the inside of the pot belly stove. They did a great job of protecting our living room as well by putting protective covers down on the floor around the chimney. After he did the cleaning he wrote up a list of suggestions to protect our chimney including repair on some of the motar joints that had dissolved due to water collecting in parts of the chimney because of the absence of a chimney capper. It took him approximately 2 and a half hours from start to finish. Charles and Paula were prompt, professional and friendly. I will use them every season to clean and inspect our chimneys.
Description of Work: Golden Dryer Vent and Chimney Sweep performed vent cleaning for my electric dryer. They also provided chimney sweep and chimney inspection services on my three chimneys. Charles started on the dryer and did a complete cleanout of the vent and went as far as opening the service access panel to clean all the loose lint from the compartment therein. He also repaired a leak in the vent thus improving the effectiveness of the machine. He swept all the chimneys and cleaned the inside of the potbelly stove completely. He also did an inspection of the outside and inside of the chimneys. Once the work was done he reviewed his recommendations. We needed chimney cappers on two chimneys, one seal cap on one chimney (that is no longer in use) and at least a dozen motar joints in the main chimney needed to be redone. We took the recomendation to re joint the motar and told him we would look for cappers on our own as we would enjoy looking for cappers that would match the exterior of the house. We used an an Angie's list coupon to cover the cost of the first chimney and paid for the services that day on the rest.

Description of Work: Mr. Golden had a huge response to his Deal;thus, it was necessary to reschedule. However, when we finally scheduled he very efficiently cleaned the vents, and I asked him to remove the front of the dryer to make certain it was as clean as possible. He performed this service for an additional $45, which I felt was quite reasonable.
