Always on time and they had a time frame. They would be here so I did not have to spend the whole day waiting.

I called the company late (8:00 pm) and expected to leave a voice mail for someone to contact me the next morning but was PLEASANTLY surprised to talk to a live person. After speaking initially for a minute or two gathering location information and issue specifics I was turned over to the technician that was scheduled to come out the next morning. That was really not expected! He informed me to turn off the unit to save any other costs that might arise from a malfunctioning unit continuing to run and gave tips on how to keep the house cool until he arrived the next morning. I was quite impressed as I have had a dozen encounters with a/c companies in the past and this was the first time this kind of treatment was given. Yay! The next morning we got a call indicating they would be arriving several hours earlier than scheduled. My wife was here when he arrived so I really can't comment on that experience but my wife was given instructions for him to call me with any diagnosis or suggested repairs. He called me and said it had a freon leak and that the evaporator coils were the problem (those are located inside the house) and that they needed to be replaced for an expected cost of $2,450. He then said he would not recommend spending that much money on a 22 year old system (a Trane) and recommended a replacement, which sounded okay to me until he said a 4-ton replacement would cost $8,250. I have never spent more than $850 for an a/c repair in my entire life so these numbers sounded very high to me. I thanked him for his time, advised my wife to pay the $55 service call and told him I would be getting a second opinion and to not do any more work. My wife contacted another company (which I won't mention here, I reviewed them as well with all high marks) and scheduled them to come out later the same day. The other company came out, diagnosed it and repaired it for a total of $601. The interesting part is that the repair did not involve the evaporator coils or freon - THERE WAS NO LEAK - but rather a crankcase heater that had shorted out and taken the contactor with it. When he looked at the outside unit he said he smelled something wrong and took off a cover the first guy did not and immediately found a melted wire that had burned itself loose. The melted wire was to the crankcase heater. This system was diagnosed by US Air and Cooling incorrectly. I cannot tell if it was intentional and I am not suggesting that it was but diagnosing so poorly with such extreme difference in costs is a homeowners nightmare. I will not call this company again nor can I recommend this company for others to use. Beware!

I have a maintenance contract with Desert Valley Aire Inc. They are honest, they do good work, and I've never had a problem with them. Their responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism are excellent.

Jonathon was on time, explained and showed us everything, discussed with us options and accepted our decision to not do anything at this time as we have other needed NOW repairs which came first. He was polite, efficient and knowledgable. We have a 3 year maintenance agreement for 2 visits per year, this is the 2nd year of visits and have been satisfied with the service.

totally trying to sell things not needed wasted $60

When we sat down to review the results, it was very apparent that the only reason for the call was to sell a maintenance contract. I explained that i already have one, and but that did not seem to matter. What really got me was the prices they quoted. They said all my capacitors needed replacement. They quoted prices without the service contract and with. They wanted us to sign up right away, but I asked for a written quote so we could think about it. They said they do not do written quotes, and gave us the hand written piece of paper with the prices. After they left, I checked around for prices on the components. One example is a 60+5 capacitor for our unit. Their price, $283; Price I found, $10.77 (retail!). This is consistent with all of the parts. They said they could discount all by 20%, which is still unbelievable. Their quoted total for parts: $1,690.00. I found retail pricing for the same parts: $192.17. Does this mean that they are charging $1,497.83 labor to change capacitors? Over and above the service contract? And I am not even considering that they get parts at wholesale pricing. I personally would not deal with Desert Valley Aire, Inc and I would not personally recommend them to anyone. Sorry guys, you lose in my book.

They came by quickly when they said they would. They were efficient and they found the parts that I needed by the next day. Their price was fair.

Initial visit turned up some heating problems I was in no position to disprove. They offered what they said was about $700 worth of work if I signed up for a long-term maintenance contract (10 years, twice per year) that was transferable to a new owner. I did, got the work done, then questioned my decision. However, six months later they called to remind me that their scheduled maintenance was due. That was 2 years ago and they have been punctual and professional, always calling to remind me that their work is due. So, good grades on the work they have done, but be aware that they might push for a contract you might regret.

Technician arrived in the allotted time. Company rep called prior to technician arrival. Technician was courteous and knowledgable with service and parts.
