Everything from start to finish was first rate. We made an appointment at the AZ Home and Garden show. Prior to the appointment a visit to thier showroom was made. they gave us the advice to look at their website to help narrow our choice of design. Very good advice, thier portfolio is extensive. Gary ( their salesman) arrived on tme and explained all the options for the build and install. what surprised us most was how competitive the price point was when compared to big box providers. They had more design options and used steel versus aluminium. This was a no brainer choice. The install Tech, Matt, arrived again on time and Installed the door. This took about two hours. When he was finshed everything was cleaned up and functioned perfectly. I would recommend this company without hesitation!

We visited showroom in Gilbert and picked out design of the month. Appointment for the estimate went well. Took a while to get an approval from HOA in meantime they answered all of my questions thoroughly. Installation on 03/18/14 took ~ 2 hrs and technician was very professional.

From the initial sales appt to the installation, very professional. The only issue we had was the appointment time was set for 8-noon and we had to call at noon to find out what was going on. Sounds like a communication lapse with the scheduler and installer. This is frustrating as we scheduled our day around those times, therefore the entire day was wasted. However, they were very apologetic. Installation was well done and the door is beautiful, well constructed, and very secure! Will definitely use them in the future if I am in need for any security doors, gates, etc...

It went very well; basically they built a wrought iron door for us. It is just beautiful! My wife loves it. It took awhile and we were back and forth with the design and they were very patient with us. They also handled all issues and problems very well.

Very well. We worked with them previously for our small front gate to our courtyard. We have had many compliments from neighbors about that gate and love it after a few years. So now that the weather is cooling and wanting to be sure we are secure leaving the arcadia door open, we said it was time to take care of adding security to our arcadia bedroom doors so we could open it at night. Once I saw the new design and options, what I was planning to spend allowed us to also get a security door for our front door! Matt was the installer and did great work. There was one glitch (a backward design for the arcadia door), and Matt explained it very well and returned to complete the work as soon as the revision was complete. We love it.

It went very well! From the initial contact to installation, First Impression met every expectation. We were calling a few other companies and were getting the run around. When we called First Impression, we were greeted by a pleasant girl on the phone who scheduled our free, in home estimate. The pricing was slightly higher than what we were hoping but the quality is worth it. You get what you pay for. The in home salesman was pleasant and described the types of doors we could get, the time it would take to deliver and install and measured another door for us that we might want to have serviced in the future. We paid upfront and received a cash discount as well as our $100 off for being an Angie's List client. We were called the next day for the scheduling a month later. A day before our scheduled installation, we received a confirmation call and I received a call on the day of when my technician was on the way. This is how ALL COMPANIES SHOULD DO BUSINESS! Michael showed up on time and went through the process of installation with me. He was friendly, efficient and clean. Installation took about 4 hours from start to finish.

On 9/11/13, our salesman showed up at 5pm, right on schedule. He was professional and courteous and took his time showing us all of the options what were available to us when picking out our security door and gate. We had already had an idea of what we wanted, so that helped us with our decisions. If we weren't sure of something, he was always willing to offer his expert opinion. By the end of our meeting, we were comfortable that we were making a good investment and signed the order for our purchase. We were told the door and gate would take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. The next day, the office called us to schedule our installation for October 1. On 10/1/13, The installer arrived around 11am. I believe the service window was from 8am-noon. The installer unloaded the security door and gate from his truck and brought them up to the front of the house. They looked amazing. They were exactly what we were hoping they would look like. I took a few photos of them as they were leaning against the house and texted them to my wife. At that point, I needed to get back inside the house and get back to work. I didn't want to get in the way so I let the installers do their thing. The installers were drilling the holes in the door for the screen and the glass panel when they called me over to ask if I wanted the glass insert in the door now or if I wanted to leave the screen in? I asked them to leave the screen in. The installer proceeded to tell me how to attach the glass when am ready to switch it out with the screen. I watched them drilling a few of the holes, then they started to prepare to install the closing mechanism. This was the very last part of the installation. That is when I noticed that the door appeared to just barely clear a part of the house that is parallel to the door, but hangs lower than the height of the door. I commented, "That just barely made it by the wall", and the installer said, "actually, this is as far as the door opens". The door doesn't even open to 90 degrees. I don't have a protractor, but I would guess that the door only opens about 70 degrees. The door width is 35 1/4 inches, but the clearance for the door is only about 34 3/4 inches. At first, I thought that maybe I could live with it as is, but after giving it a week, I have found that with regular use, the door is continually hitting the stucco wall. This is unacceptable. I paid a lot of money for a custom made door to fit my house. This is not what I received. Wednesday, October 9, I called my salesman and left a voice mail. I explained that the door was not measured properly and I can't fully open the door without hitting the house. He called back and left a voice mail, stating that he left a message for the Sales Manager, informing him about my concerns. He said that the Sales Manager would be in touch with me. It is Monday, October 14, and no one from First Impressions has contacted me yet. To sum up my experience, I thought I was ordering a custom made door from professionals. The salesman was bragging about what a great company they are, even stated multiple times that they are in good standing on Angie's List. I paid for my door in full, the day that we placed the order. Now I am stuck with a door that doesn't fit my house and First Impressions won't even call me back. UPDATE: The Service Manager for First Impressions called me back after my last update. He worked with me on fixing the door. They removed the door, cut it down and built up the frame. The door was fixed and installed in a week. I have updated my overall score to an "A". Once the Service Manager was involved, the responsiveness was excellent. We love our door and gate, and despite the issue, it was still worth it. Update: Here's an update on First Impressions.This just happened. I had first impressions install a security door and a gate 3 years ago.My gate will not close properly. I just called them to schedule someone to come out and adjust the gate. Despite their claims of lifetime warranty on the install, they are asking for $85 payment upfront. I was told that because of the elements and the usage, that the gate could expand and contact. Based on the claims of the highest quality products and installations, I would think my $3,000.00 gate and door wouldn't be inoperable in three years. I told them to schedule the tech and charge me the $85. That I was going to voice my experience about their products and service.They then offered to charge $45 for the tech visit. I said that's fine, but I'm still going to talk about my experience. Then they said that "since you're going to say things about our company and hurt our reputation, we're going to note your account and we will not send a tech out." So, if you decide to use First Impressions, Beware! If they don't like what you have to say, they won't support their product. Update 2: Since I haven't heard from the Director, per the phone call on November 23rd, I'm done with the company. Stay clear of them. Their warranty is misleading, and they don't give you quality products. The warranty is that the gate doesn't fall off the wall, not that the product is sound.

After waiting 1 week for an appointment, the salesman called to ask if they could come at 12:30 instead of 4:00. Fortunately, that was fine. BUT then he asked what type of work we wanted, and I told him a courtyard gate, a new backyard gate, and a fence and gate to separate my garden from the backyard. He informed me that they NO LONGER MAKE FENCING, even though there website clearly indicates fencing. So we canceled the appointment and I'm left to scramble for other vendors.

The whole experience went smoothly, from our visit to the Scottsdale showroom to the installation. We chose two different installation dates. The installers were on time, professional, and did a great job on both doors. Both of the homes are older, and my door frame in particular was tricky as it isn't exactly straight. The doors are of wonderful quality, and look great. My installer did a spectacular job. I love my door.

My new security door was installed on 9/26/2013 and I love it! My experience with this company went smoothly from my first contact with sales to the door installation. The door is beautiful and the installation went very well. I highly recommend this company.

I went to the Arizona Home Show and saw their display on gates. I knew I needed one the old one was 22 years old. I made an appt. with the sales rep. to come to the house and give me an estimate. I know they have a good product because I have used them before on my front security door. I made the appt. for late August I had a busy month. When the rep. came out he was prompt and very professional. I had a good idea what I wanted because I went on their website and checked out all of their gate profiles. Since I went to the home show I got a discount of $150.00. We did all of the paper work and because all of the gates are made to order the rep. said it would take about 3 weeks to make. I set up a date for 3 weeks later. They called last Friday and asked if the date of install was still ok, and it was. The installer called Monday morning said he was 30 minutes away. When he rang the door bell he said he would get all the parts together and let me check everything to make sure that this was the gate that I ordered. After he installed the gate he wanted my approval ,it was a great installation job. The installer went over the minor maintenance I should do every month or 2 and warrantee.

I found it difficult to find their showroom, because they have several buildings and getting to the right place involved more driving around the business park than I expected> I did not care for the salesperson who assisted me in the store; found him to be somewhat dismissive. At any rate, I would say we did not "click". So I went back a second time and of course, ended up with the same guy. Anyhow, I didn't feel like he really explained the features/options to me (maybe because there was no man with me, not sure). But I went ahead and scheduled a person to come to the house and he was much more helpful and also very professional and polite. The door was measured and I made final selections for the color/etc. When the actual installation occured, I was very pleased with the outcome and the professionalism of the installer. Overall I am satisfied with my door but might have been happier if the construction features had been more fully explained in the beginning. Rather, I was told that its just a matter of which one you like (appearance only). But it is a fine door and I would use this company againe.

I found First Impressions via Angies list and I have to say that from their show rooms to home visits to measure for installation to actual installation they were a dream to work with. We had a custom design done on our gate and later our front double door. They delivered ahead of time and the doors look fantastic. They have a wonderful warranty and when we had a minor problem with the head of a bolt failing on the security door they came right out to fix it. They walked us through maintenance and upkeep and handling the rekeying of the gate and door to match our house keys. We plan on having them back to install a gate to our backyard and do a screen door over our slider.

The price was quoted at twice as much as the company that I used. They are a very good company and they were great to work with. Their prices are just higher due to the overhead they have with having a large showroom. They do provide a good product but it was expensive.

extremely happy with the relatively custom design, and the final product. Installers were highly professional, did an excellent job. You could possibly find a cheaper cost, but these doors are locally made, excellent quality, excellent service.

Our interactions with First Impressions could not have gone better! They were patient and forthcoming at their showroom location for our many questions. The estimate service call was scheduled at our convenience and we had a complete, documented estimate prior to leaving that day. Their promised delivery date was reasonable (2-3 weeks) for a custom made door and gate but they delivered several days ahead of that schedule. The salesman provided several key points of information (be sure to have keys available for re-keying the locks, for example) to make it a smooth installation. The gentlemen that installed our new door and gate were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and understanding. They left no evidence of the installation other than the beautiful new door and gate!

The salesman, Shauwn, showed up on time with an impressive presentation. I chose a door I really love - and it was installed sooner the expected date. The installer, Chris, showed up when expected and did a great job installing the very good-looking door. He did a nice job explaining all the details, and left it looking really good. Couldn't have asked for more! I also appreciated the Angie's List discount.

They did a terrific job. It was absolutely excellent from start to finish. The sales rep was really helpful in picking the door style and color. They did a great job of measuring and making sure it was built to our specifications. They sent an email with the PDF of the design for our doors. They showed up to install when they said they would and the installation was top notch. We were very pleased.

Process went as expected. The company appears to do what they say.

Security door/gate was installed, installation crew was very professional and did a fine job. Middle section, ~8" high and all the way across, was supposed to have Bird of Paradise(BOP) all the way across, ~37". Door had ~16" missing, huge gaps on either side. The approved design, picture and diagram, clearly had BOP all the way across. When I called my salesaman was out of town, found that out the next day. Had sales people hang up on me, twice accidentally??, .left voicemail with sales person also, salesman should have had had message on VM that he was out of town all week. Finally later in the day I spoke with his supervisor, he told me initially that the BOP was bought in certain sizes and that is just what fit my door? I asked about my approved design, sent him original emails with picture/diagrams. He said they would take care of it. They came the following week, removed door and corrected the problem. They did leave one area unwelded and did not respond when I told them. Overall it is a very nice door and the intallation/service team is very professional. One would have thought my salesman would have called me to see how things went? Or even to apologize.. Not a word,. I emailed him the day after the door was re installed, never apologized..basically just saying he was glad I was a satisfied customer. Acting as if they went above and beyond to make the door the way it was ordered.. Anyway I recommend not using them stricltly for there customer service from the sales department.
