Blue Sky Pest Control

Blue Sky was just here to provide my regularly scheduled service and I am submitting this review to affirm how pleased I am with their service. The technician for the last two appointments has been Brian and he does an excellent job. He is professional, polite, friendly and always takes time to answer any questions I may have.

We have had some issues with scorpions for a couple of years, so we are trying to stay on top of getting rid of crickets/others pests. We also have noticed a few black widows outside. We had used our previous exterminator for a couple of years but found they were not really reliable. We stuck with them mainly out of habit, but after the third time of them not showing up/not calling, we decided to make a switch. Blue Sky presented as very professional from the very first call and the very first visit. They call/e-mail a visit reminder and SHOW UP! The Blue Sky exterminator did also take a much longer time than our previous provider with spraying, he let us know what he found/did and then on the most recent visit he came to let me know when he moved a door mat, it had split, unsure if he had done it,- it had already been split, but I appreciated he stopped to tell me/ask me about it.

These guys are great. Punctual, clean cut, and explained everything thoroughly. One of the things I appreciated was I was able to set everything up over email.

We were very pleased that a service person could come a few hours after we called. We hired hired landscape maintenance for the day and they were uncomfortable working around bees. A week later, the bees are not a problem. Service expert was very professional and explained the situation and remedy thoroughly.

On Monday, the technician told me what he was going to do, and proceeded to use a hoe to dig a 2" trench in the dirt around my home. At my request, he also drilled into the A/C slab, the slab in front of my house, and my back patio. He did the drilling first, inserted the chemical and then patched over all the holes. He did such a good job, you can hardly see them. He then did the trenches, and covered all the soil and gravel back up, and finished in approximately an hour and a half. I was told it would take 9 to 10 days to take full effect. And 10 days later, I checked the outside stem wall. All termite activity had stopped.

Everything went extremely well. Everybody I dealt with (call taker, salesman, technician) was professional, friendly and competent. I told them I needed a rush job because of a refinance and they went all out to make it happen. I was very happy with the work that was done. I signed on for bi-monthly preventive maintenance. Also got a discount for mentioning that I found them on Angie's List. I would definitely recommend them.

Responsive. Sympathetic. On time. Knowledgeable. Thorough. Fortunately, did not find any evidence of bugs, which set my paranoia at rest. Next time I need pest control, I will definitely contact them again.

We really like them. They do a better job than the other one we were using down here. They're great. They're really good. They show up when they're supposed to show up. They call to let us know they were coming the day before. They do a great job. We've never had any problems. The only problem we would have would be our gate not unlocked because we forgot but it's just not a problem because they come back. We actually recommended them to friends.

They have done a good job, they are a little expensive. Their treatments are effective. Also, depending on who answers the phone you might get a little push back and persuasion on the representatives behalf when if comes to applying the treatment again. I appreciate when I talk with Lisa, she has great customer service skills.

They were very through rough. They are scheduled to come again in the next 30 days. They are all natural and pet friendly. We also had a scorpion in our home and they resolved that issue.

We are very happy with this economical pest control service. We have not been bothered by bugs. The service guys have been extremely polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Matt is our guy now and we highly recommended you ask for him when you call for service. Great job! Worth the money.

They are just always willing to share information and helpful. When we first bought the house there were a lot of bad weeds from winter up against the house and they made sure to treat it so that you don't end up spiders or things in the house. I feel like I get what I'm paying for and I don't feel like they are overcharging.

The service worked out good. They only came in once.

I called them b/c of the great reviews on this site. I also had heard them endorsed on the radio. I called & they answered every question I had. They gave me all information. The 1st apt was made for 3 days later between 1:00 & 3:00. He was there at 1:00. Very nice &knowledgeable. I set up a bi-monthly contract w/ them.

The amount I pay them is for each time that they come out. The workers are professional and they’re young people. They’re always polite and they do a good job. They always give me a notice ahead of time that they’re coming; so it’s the day before. I’m happy with their service and everything’s holding up great. I haven’t looked at other prices though.

They did a very good job and I was pleased with their work. They came out on time and left me with a statement and we decided to hire them for a year contract.

Contacted a man named Matt who worked in their Bee department. Talked to me about my problem. I was having a problem with bee in the structure right above my front door. I had sprayed lots of bee killer and sealed off the entrance they were using with a foam spray. After a couple of days must seemd to be gone but a few straglers. A few were going up thru the light fixture above the door. After a week I got tired of dealing with it myself so I decided to call a professional. I saw Blue Sky's advertisment in my Angie's List book I get every month. It said they were bonded and licensed. I called them Wednesday morning and Matt heard what I was telling him. He said he would get a guy out there about 3:00pm. I got a call about 2:00pm on my cell that said he was running a little late with another job. He showed up about 3:30pm and apologized. His name was Elliott and was a very nice guy. We got to talking about bees and their usual behavior. He went up above the overhang and sprayed bee killer and some sort of powder. He said there definitely was bees up there be he was thinking I must have killed probably the hive with my spray but were probably straglers that came back. Their treatment must have worked because no bees are present anymore. Elliott said the powder he sprayed would last in there for months. Elliott told me he had been doing it for eight years. He was very nice and was very professional. There was a $125 trip charge for showing up plus charged me $50 for the chemicals. I understand about the trip charge because all companies charged you something like that. Well worth the price considering my problem. Matt has a really nice guy working for him in Elliott. I highly recommend this company.

They were able to get me in for my initial "flush" within a few days and now we have every other month service. They had a special on the initial and the price is definitely competitive after that! They are professional and great! Love it!

There was miscommunication regading time. One voice message gave me a window of 2 hours, while the person who scheduled the appointment made it clear that they could accomodate my time because of my home based private practice. They even agreed to have the inspector arrive around 7:45 am, which is 15 minutes earlier than their normal start time. However he arrived right at 8 am. The inspection was hurried. They did indeed fine rat dropping on both attics of my home, however they do not clean up the rat droppings. This was important for me as I could not get into the attic myself to do the work. They also could not tell me where the rats were coming in. I have had to hire another company to come in and clean out the attic of rat poop. The good news. I found one dead rat in my yard from the rat poison they brought in. Also I was quouted $15.00 for the rat trap, but was charged $25.00 for it as I was told by the inspector on site that the $15.00 price was an old price. The inspector was knowledgable.

UPDATE 5/26/2013- I'm not sure how the update feature works on Angie's List, but this paragraph is an update to the story told below. I have also changed the star rating system on this review from C's to A's. After submitting the review below, the General Manager of Blue Sky Pest Control called me personally to discuss the situation and offered to refund the $49, plus some other incentives to use their services again. I genuinely appreciated the call, and I think it shows a kind of customer service mindset and a caring about the reputation of his company that many larger corporations and businesses are lacking these days. We spoke briefly about what we both consider to be good business practice, and I left the call feeling honestly made whole with the situation. Their care for the company's reputation and for doing what's right by the customer has changed my mind about some of my statements below, and I am happy to once again recommend their services to my friends and family, as well as this online community. Original Review- I used this company I had never heard of before due to their results here on Angie's List. They provided satisfactory service for monthly pest control treatments doing the usual spraying for bugs and sweeping for spider webs. They provided the average service I would have expected from any of the larger companies in the Valley for about the same price. I didn't find that there was anything special or unique about using this company over any of the others. What has rubbed me the wrong way about them and why I won't personally recommend them to anyone, is that we ended up selling our home in record time and didn't fulfill their 1- year contract we had signed. This early termination incurred a $49 penalty to us, which is nothing in the scheme of things, and was agreed to by our signing of the contract. In the process of the home sale, we needed a speedy termite inspection and I called them and they had someone there the next day. Good service, right? I asked if we could apply the $49 to the termite inspection since we could have used any number of other cheaper providers...they refused. When the termite inspector showed up, her paperwork indicated a $49 credit to our account, so I assumed that a manager had a change of heart and realized it was good business to apply the credit. Everyone's happy, right? So now a month later I receive a bill in the mail for $49 threatening that I will incur finance charges (on $49!) if I do not remit payment within 10 days. I call them and sure enough, they want their $49 dollars and say they never agreed to the credit and that the $49 on the termite inspectors paperwork was from the overages left on our contract! So if there were $49 credit left on our contract, why wouldn't they have waived the $49 penalty and charged us full price for the termite inspection? Either way, they ended up getting their $49, which I agree they were technically owed, but the hoopla surrounding the whole experience has been laughable to me and I think it should have been written off in the name of good business practice. Make your own decision. They provide adequate service on par with all the bigger companies doing the same thing. I am currently looking for a new pest service on my new home and will not be using Blue Sky Pest Control.

Blue Sky has done a great job. Their techs are very professional. We have had a couple pest issues come up that their company does not treat. They were quick to give us a referral to other companies that handle those issues. I would recommend them for your day to day pests.

It's been good! They call before they come and they are very thorough and professional when they're here; we're very happy with them!

.Blue Sky did a complete termite control procedure both inside and out. The were willing, at no extra cost, to split the work into 2 days to accommodate a flooring installation for us. Both applicators were prompt, courteous, and professional at all times and provided as much information as we asked for. I would definitely recommend them.

My initial call was handled in person and politely. I was given an appointment time about 3 days out. Two people from Blue Sky arrived punctually, saw the activity under our eaves, made a diagnosis and a recommendation. The nature of the infestation required them to work both on the exterior of our home and in our attic. They were thorough and professional in every aspect of their work. I was impressed by their knowledge and how they explained everything to us. They described, to a tee, how the bees would behave after their work was completed. The problem has been eliminated.
