JDS Improvements

We were notified of a potential freeze in vacation home and no one was at the property. I contacted John and he went to the property immediately to assess and repair what ever was needed.

We called John Snyder to come and give us an estimate on replacing some deadbolt locks on all our main doors. As usual John responded the same day and came to look at our doors. We agreed on a more than fair price and he started the job immediately. The great thing about JDS is that there is no wasted time with them running back and forth for supplies, tools, etc. In a short amount of time the locks were replaced, the area was cleaned, and we were very pleased to be secure again.

Excellent. They were prompt and if delayed, made a phone call. They went an extra step to remove the shower doors, so they can put in the drywall in the ceiling. After the work was completed, they cleaned up.

When they initially inspected our roof, they found weather damage and said that we should contact our insurance company. The insurance did, in fact, cover the replacement, so we really appreciated that. Even though we had two unexpected days of rain, they were able to complete the project on schedule. Great job!

I called John for an estimate for siding and a new window on the back side of my cabin in Prescott. I live in Tucson but the cabin is in Prescott, so I had to arrange a time to meet and get an estimate. John showed up as promised and assessed the work but felt that I did not need siding to repair the leaks. He gave me an estimate for work to repair the possible areas where water could be leaking into the garage and also installation of a new window. He was able to arrange to have a couple of his workers to do the repairs the following day on short notice due to my limited amount of time in town. They showed up the next day, Saturday, and were able to replace the window and repair the areas that were most likely causing the leaks into the garage. I was very happy with their work and plan to call JDS for more projects in the future.

JDS Improvements responded quickly. I was satisfied with them.

They asked ME for what types of prices I was willing to pay, which seems backwards to me. They asked me to send them pictures of the areas where I wanted to have work done, which also didn't make sense to me. I'm looking for something simple--I didn't want to be their photographer.

John came out and looked at the patio roof and told me what needed to be done he than gave me an estimate. I checked with several other companies that were higher priced and or never returned my call. I then called John and asked him to do the work.He came out and measured the area and ordered the materials. He came back a few days later and completed the work in a couple of days.

They were punctual and the quality of their work was fairly high. I would recommend them.

Placed a telephone call and spoke to John about work needed to be performed. John came the same morning, gave a quote and a start date. John and an associate arrived early on the date agreed, started work immediately, and finished all tasks in a timely manner. Both men were friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to use JDS again and would recommend them to anyone.

I love John. He's so good at everything. He's knowledgeable and really cares about this customers...one time he was having problems with one of this employees working here and he came over and fired him and took over the job himself. We can use him for anything. He's not the least expensive guy, but he's honest and dependable and he stands behind his work. He's very prompt anytime we calling.

From the time plumber arrived to final resolution of blockage in toilet sewer line took no more than fifteen minutes. Excellent job performed very well.

1. If Licensed Contractors are an important criteria to you - be sure you check that out before meeting with an individual 2. Require a formal proposal/estimate on the work to be performed 3. If the candidate does not meet the criteria it is best to determine that on the phone rather than going further.

TERRIBLE - NON-LICENSED CONTRACTOR - OVERPRICED AND POOR WORK THAT HAD TO BE REDONE BY ANOTHER PLUMBER. Waste of my money and time. John Snyder did show up on time, but little did I know that there would be such terrible work done in exchange for punctuality. I briefly went over the 3 small issues that needed to be covered as far as plumbing, which I was told was to be done within one hour. Shower heat knob adjustment, change hot/cold water valves on clothes washer (as they were corroded and spraying water) and re-adjust angle of kitchen sink piping due to new cabinets being put in - for a better non-clogging flow. The only accomplishment for the money was the shower heat knob adjustment (which was coincidentally not even done by John but by his Plus-One man). I went to turn on hot water the next morning (after John assured me he had fixed the corroded valves on our washer) and it was still spraying water water back at me. Our kitchen sink stopped up as the piping was not-reangled downword as we had asked, but instead put at more of an angle to stop up food and water even worse than it initially was. After the supposed work was done regarding plumbing John expressed that he was a painter and could finish the dining room and half ceiling left in our home. I agreed. It took them THREE HOURS to paint one tiny room (2 people) and a tiny ceiling piece - using my brushes, tape, ladder & canvases. For four hours of shotty plumbing work (that now has to be redone by someone who is actually licensed and knows what they are doing) and an over-extended paint job that left us with drips all over the floor and wet brushes in the sink.... I would NOT recommend JD Improvements or John Synder for any work what-so-ever. At my own cost I looked on here at the reviews on here and now believe they may have just been John and his workers leaving positive feedback - as anyone who has dealt with his work would know that punctuality does not make up for an overpriced, unexperienced handy-man. We called John the next morning and he again showed up quickly for work. We had him look at the paint all over the floor, the spraying nozzles on the washing machine and he had nothing but LIES and STORIES to give us in return. He said he WOULD NOT REFUND us our money - but instead handed me a $20 bill and sped off in his truck.

My experience with John and JDS Improvements was better than I ever could have imagined. John was a pleasure to deal with throughout the project; always available either via by cell or text. If I had a question or wanted to change something, he would see it to that it was done right and right the first time. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was second to none. I am very thankful and pleased I chose to work with John and his company; I will use him again and will refer him to as many friends or family that I can. One last final note: when I was beginning this process I had three contractors come over to bid for the project... John was the only contractor that showed up on time and offered me a fair and good estimate within days. Choose JDS Improvements... you'll be happy you did!

I called, made an appointment, he came and fixec the leak. Did a great job.

Overall the job was done very well and I am completely satisfied with John and Glenn. They will be returning later in the month to install a couple new doors and repair florescent lighting in both my bathrooms.

The previous parking was a dirt pad, and became mud with each rain or snow. Initially the project was bid for a 20 foot width. When the workers arrived on site to grade the area and build the form we inquired about adding to the size and the cost was very reasonable so we made the change. The concrete poured was 3000 PSI and which we verified with the delivery driver. The form was built to allow a minimum depth of 4 to 4.5 inches of concrete in all areas; additionally steel re-bar was installed on 24 inch centers and tied together to add strength. The finish was a broom finish which looks nice but allows some tire grip over a totally smooth surface. Ernesto was the employee that did most of the work, and was very courteous and tidy. JDS improvements is an honest outfit that does what they promise, shows up on time, leaves the job site tidy, is fair on price, and quality of work was high. We recommend JDS Improvements and will use them in the future.

I got estimates from two different companies. I called JDS Improvements to come out to my house and gvie me an estimate. We had a lot of trouble with scheduling and they kept giving me excuses. They said they wanted to see the estimate from the other company that I had an estimate from to get the material costs becuase he said he was too busy to get that information.They said they came to my house when I was not home to get an estimate. He never contacted me back with any estimate after this. I ended up using the first company becuase they were in town and didn't give me excuses.

Repaired rather than replaced some things so saved me money.

JDS Improvements came out within 30 minutes of my first call to them. He was able to replace the old hose with the new hose very quickly, with no leaks, and in a clean, courteous, and professional manner. Not only was the quality of his work quick, clean, and correct, but; he was also pleasant to talk to and patient and gentle with my overly affectionate dogs. Great service! Will definitely call on your services again in the future.
