Shawn was a delight to work with; professional, knowledgeable and understanding. He offered some great ideas and recommendations. He was very efficient and responsive. We worked together to come up with a unique design that carried though on all the gates. The gates were both beautiful and sturdy. He and his team showed up on time and were hard working and dedicated. They cleaned up and you never knew they were there, except for the gorgeous gates they installed. I would highly recommend Sunset Gates; good people and great gates.

The quote for the job that I received from Sunset Gates seemed very fair, especially in light of some of the other quotes that I had received. The gates turned out exactly how I wanted and look great. Shawn communicated the progress well with me and I found him to be very professional.

After receiving several quotes for installation of an RV gate, I was impressed with the quality for the price and decided to go with Sunset Gates. They responded quickly to my requests, were prompt for the initial appointment and even waited for me to arrive. Shawn was knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. Installation included tearing out the existing block wall, building new pillars, and finishing with stucco. Installation took 2 days. I am very happy with the final product, would recommend this company, and would use them again.

Shawn showed up on time for a consultation on how I'd like to replace the gate. The interview was informative and pleasant; my questions about materials and configurations were answered and the entire procedure, including timelines, was explained clearly. In the event, the job went as described and the old gate was removed and the new one efficiently installed in one morning's work. I now have a clean, attractive, and, above all, smoothly functioning side gate. All involved - the salesman and the installers - were professional and enjoyable to interact with. And Shawn followed up after the installation to ensure I was happy with the job.

Shawn and his brother were great. They did a fantastic job on my double gate. They were on time and the gate looked better than expected and at a good price.

Very professional, courteous and high quality. Came same day to give me a quote, showed me different options. I made choice and about a week or so later they came and installed it. It looks great and works so much better. They changed the side that the gate hinged on to give me more room in and out of the space. High recommended.

I spoke to Shawn about a drop rod pipe for my RV gate. He made helpful suggestions to try and fix it myself while on the phone. After a few do-it-yourself tries, I decided to have Sunset Gates come out and repair the RV gate for me. Shawn came alone and was able to fix the RV gate for less than he quoted. Overall, it was a great experience and I would use his company again.

We decided to replace our 10 year old side gate that originated from the builder when we bought the home. The gate was starting to sag and the wood slats were beaten up by the sun. Shawn gave us many options and priced them all out for us, from standard & functional to decorative since we were not quite sure how elaborate we wanted to be. We ended up adding a few inches of height, security slats and a locking mechanism so there is much more privacy. We drive around the neighborhood now and notice how everyone's gates allow you to see into their side yards and everything they may store there. Also within 24 hours of install we got two compliments from neighbors - can't get better than that.

The experience was great. They were helpful, promp & polite. We had 2 estimates done. The other was a litlle cheaper but the materials used by this company were much better quality so we went with them. When they came to give us the estimate they told us it would take 7-10 days for the gates to be made. They called us on the 10th day to schedule the installation which was 2 days later. It all went well & we are very pleased.

This was a comfortable, easy, and impressive experience from start to finish! Shawn is extremely knowledgeable, professional and helpful while presenting options. The installation was also very professional, ending with quality workmanship and an impeccable clean-up. The wrought iron has a handsome, durable powder coat finish and the cedar woodgrain is beautiful with no stainless steel bolts showing when viewed from the front of the house. The privacy straps are an excellent addition, well worth the small added price. I highly recommend Sunset Gates!

Shawn explained the various gate options and took measurements. Because of the color of gate we chose, it look a while to be fabricated, but it looks great. The installers did a great job and Shawn checked with us afterwards to make sure we were happy.

I was checking estimates from multiple companies on Angie's List. This company was the only one to give me a quote over the phone. Shawn came out the following day to take measurements. Shawn showed up at the designated time promptly. We sat on the back patio and went over photos of gates, finishes and he had some samples of the wood slats. He went through the project with me, on what to expect. The turn around time for the gate was approximately nine days. He collected a 1/3 deposit upfront. The appointment lasted about thirty minutes and he took measurements after we were finished talking. I received a call a little over a week after that, the gate was ready for installation and he gave me two time periods to choose from. I took the earliest appointment (that day). A window was given from noon-2:00 PM. Two young fellows in their company truck arrived around 1PM. They went right to work and worked quickly (had the gate installed within 40 minutes). They needed access to electric and came well prepared with an extra long extension cord. When I went to check their work prior to them leaving, I noticed the gate opened outward, which I wanted, but the hinges and springs were on the exterior facing the street-side. I stressed some concern to the workers, but they assured this is how it was to be installed since gate opens outward. The installation looked great (hung straight) and the gate was sturdy and good quality. That evening we were out, so we missed Shawn's follow up call. The following day I touched base with him and shared my confusion over the spring hinge showing from the front-side. Shawn explained it was installed by city code. I did find gates in new home subdivisions installed in the same manner. Our older gate which was in excess of twenty years old, had the spring inside, which led me to believe this one should also have the hinges and spring located inside. Shawn offered several suggestions as he said he wanted to make us happy with the outcome. I opted to leave the gate as is, due to pool safety concerns. We allowed the cedar to dry a bit and then applied two coats of Behr stain. With the stain, the hinges and springs aren't noticeable from the front. We are very happy with the appearance and quality.

I was incredibly impressed with this company from start to finish. Shawn has a vision and understanding of the construction of gates that is, quite frankly, unrivaled. From the initial call until the completion of the project, he was always easy to reach, understanding, and professional. I would highly recommend using this company to anyone for your gating needs. In fact, if I ever have any gate or fencing needs in the future, I plan on contacting Sunset Gates first to see if they can help me. Shawn and his crew were always here when they said they would be here, and never left me in the dark about what step of the project they were on and what they would complete that day. Shawn himself came out on the first day of the install, when they were cutting out and replacing/setting new blocks, because my communication cables ran directly underneath where the gate would be installed, and he took all the care in the world to ensure that no damage was done to them, and didn't leave the job site until he was satisfied everything was set. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

I had a side gate that needed to be replaced and also needed a child safety lock installed on my pool gate. Shawn was very professional, on time and he does quality work. I got three quotes for the job, his was in the middle, but he was by far the most responsive. It was a small job, but I appreciate good service, people who meet deadlines and keep commitments. He did all three.

I contacted Sunset Gates, sent them pictures via email, and they quickly provided an estimate. The cinderblock column had to be rebuilt with additional reinforcement to make sure that this did not happen again. Work was done two weeks later rather than sooner, since I was on the opposite side of the Phoenix area from Sunset Gates. However, the work was performed promptly per appointment, the gentleman was very professional, the work was done on time, and the craftsmanship was superb. The new stucco coating on the new column is virtually indistinguishable from the existing stucco on the adjoining wall. A day later, Shawn stopped by and completed alignment on the gate.
