I first used Porter's Roofing in December of 2011. They replaced a leaky flat roof with a foam roof. I was repeatedly assured that the roof wouldn't leak again. One month ago, the roof leaked over the shower. I called Porters and was told that someone would follow up. I didn't hear anything that day, so I called back. I was told the same thing. I finally received a call yesterday. The roofer came by and said that the leak on the flat part was due to a "valley" in the roof, but that this was not due to their work, but rather to the pitched part of the roof, which they didn't replace. (I didn't really understand what he was talking about since I was repeatedly assured that the flat part of the roof wouldn't leak!) He applied some ??? and said that was a temporary fix, but basically he couldn't help me because the leak wasn't caused by their work. (What?!) Today we had ANOTHER leak in the laundry room, which is in a completely different part of the house and nowhere near the pitched part of the roof. I will be calling them again tomorrow and asking to speak to the owner. We spent $5000 on a new foam roof, and we've had two leaks, poor follow up, and no one seems to care! I'm very disappointed in Porters Roofing. I expected better service and quality given their high rating on Angie's List. I should have went with Lyon's Roofing. UPDATE: Randy, the Superintendent for Porter's Roofing, called me upon hearing about my Angie's List review. He was upset with the flat roof crew and promised to repair the roof at no additional cost to me. That was on a Thursday. By Saturday evening, all repairs were made. I waited to update my Angie's List review to make sure that the roof wouldn't leak again, which meant waiting for a raining day. I'm happy to report that the roof did not leak. Overall, I was very happy with the follow-up and Randy's professionalism. If you have problems, make sure to speak directly with Randy. He is very customer-oriented and true to his word. (PLEASE NOTE THAT I CHANGED MY ORIGINAL F-RATING TO A B-RATING TO REFLECT MY FOLLOW-UP EXPERIENCE.)

It didn't start out very well. The local Phoenix, AZ, Fire Department called to ask me if any neighbor had a key to my home; because one of the workers accidentally started a small fire on the outside of our chimney while removing some old roofing material over the patio cover. They needed to check if the fire had spread to the inside or any interior walls. This is not what you want to hear when you are away from home! From then on, the workers kept a fire extinguisher nearby. However, when everything else was completed, the job seemed to be well done.

I have a 30' x 11' flat patio roof that seriously needed a new roofing material. Randy gave me an estimate of $1,000. The crew showed up at 8:30 on Jan 31st. They replaced all the bad wood and installed new seamless roofing material. They painted the new wood and cleaned up everything. It looks great and the price was great. All work done in about 5 and a half hours.

I needed maintenance and cleaning of my foam roof and contacted Porter Roofing for estimates. They arrived on time for the appointment and performed and inspection, including pictures of areas that needed attention. They provided me with an estimate for repairs and re-coating which was very reasonable, so I hired them and set an appointment. They arrived on time for the scheduled appointment and promptly got to work. The crew was neat and cleaned up any debris that arose during the cleaning and repairs. They were unobtrusive and performed their work professionally. I was very pleased with the work they did and I have had no problems. I would definitely hire them again. They are easy to contact, deal with, responsive, and honor their commitments.

The only problem I had is that they were an hour and three quaters late for the estimate. Had a 9:00AM appointment with Randy and at 10:45AM Jake arrived to do the bid. Took 2-3 days to get the bid and I had to email to get the bid. Must be really busy. Can't tell if the work was done properly since I don't own a ladder tall enough to get on the roof. Digital photos would have been extremely helpful. They were about $75 higher than the other two bids. Used them based on Angie's List reviews. I would use them again if needed.

I have been using them for about eight years. They are the only roofing company I will use. Their service is great! I mainly deal with Randy, the estimator. I call Randy or the office and I tell them I have an issue. I usually have an estimate within twenty four hours.

Estimator was on time he explained the estimate in detail. He was professional, knowledgable about my roofing needs. He detailed the materiales to be used and explained work to be done both written and verbally. Only drawback was the warranty on the whole roof warranty was only for ten years.

Randy came on time for quote, services performed on time when promised. Satisfied, would recommend and use again

I called 3 companies to get estimates. This company was half the price of another and didn't try to sell me a new roof. I played phone tag a couple times with Hannah and I had to call back twice before I could make appointment. But I didn't give up because of the positive reviews on Angie's list. Randy came to our home and he was direct, got on the roof, presented us with a plan and was not pushy and did not try to sell us a new roof. My roof is 17 years old. A crew of 3 men came 2 weeks later (busy monsoon season) and started promptly and completed the job same day. We had a good rain 2 weeks later and no leaks so far.

Excellent. Previously, I had been told by ANOTHER ROOFING FIRM that the flat portions of the roof needed immediate coating and the overall roof would need replacing within the next couple of years. Once I climbed up on the roof and looked the situation over I couldn't see any problem out side of a few/cracked tiles, so I called Porter Roofing who was highly recommended on Angie's list. Porter Estimator came out climbed all over the roof and gave me a complete appraisal. They also only found a couple of broken titles. Estimated the flat coating could last another three years or more and found nothing negative regarding the main roof. Gave me an estimate of $100 to replace the one tile, epoxy a couple of chipped corners on a tile or two (strictly cosmetic), blow out all valleys etc. Roofer showed up on time, changed the one tile, caulked two roof flashings, "just for good measure", made the cosmetic epoxy fixes, blew off the complete roof. Before he would allow me to pay him for the work he insisted that he be allowed to blow off any leaves etc. that may have landed on my walk, driveway and pool decking. His change was for exactly $100 plus tax. Excellent and highly recommended. The also were very honest on the REAL condition of the roof.

Updates: since they went to our house with a different schedule, I am not sure if they fixed the roof or not. I asked them to come and check, and also give me warrenty. They did it and we are happy now. My appointment was set up on September 7 initially, however they told me to re-schedule it on September 10 early morning. I did it. Yesterday ( September 10) I've been waiting for more than 1 and half hour,but nobody shows up. I sent an email to them and asked the reason, no response either.

Pros: 1. They were able to do repairs on Saturday. 2. They arrived on time. 3. The price was reasonable. 4.They did not try to sell me a new roof. Cons: 1. 3% convenience fee for use of credit cards is not disclosed until invoice for completed work is given. There is no mention of this fee on their ad or proposal. I spoke with Randy, who was aware of these issues, but blamed it on their printing process. 2. I had some small concerns about work done and it took two phone calls in a week time, before I could talk with Randy and have him come out to do quality check. 3. They were not able to pick up the debris for two days. Most of the debris was picked up, but I did have to pick up some left over nails and debris in the yard.

Porter Roofing was very professional from start to finish. Job was started and completed according to schedule.

It seems a lot of the negative reviews have occurred under similar circumstances this year, so I'm wondering if this company has reached it's max as far as the amount of business it can manage. They were one of my choices because of the number of positive reviews for work they actually performed. Unfortunately, given the two mix ups even before I could get to the estimate phase, I decided it was in my best interest to eliminate them as a potential candidate for my roofing needs.

Got 3 bids to replace the patio roof, and Porter suggested a replacement that was not the most expensive, but would be what they considered the best and with no future costs to maintain the roof. Really nice and unusual to have a really honest person who wants whats best for the customer, and not the most expensive. thank you, very happy with the outcome.

The roof turned out good. They were a Spanish speaking crew so there wasn't a lot of interaction but they did take before and after photos as I had requested. The company is pretty popular so it did take a while to schedule but they were able to complete the work in about 5 days. They were also very patient and understanding with the payment since I had to deal with my insurance company. I’ve already recommended them to others!

Called a few companies and went with Porter as the cheaper option. They came to do the estimate within a few days of the initial call. During the estimate they guy walked around on the roof, came back with two estimates as requested a) fix leak b) new roof. 4/26 called to confirm the contract, they estimated mid-May to start. They called back 5/2! A gentleman came out to go over samples. Work started bright and early Wed morning. Thursday afternoon the work was complete and the roof looks fantastic, area completely cleaned up. Thursday night had a huge rain storm with lots of strong wind. No leaks, roof still looks great. Have some other work being done and the workmen have all stated that the roof looks really well done. Getting tons of complements from around the neighborhood too

Of the three companies that I contacted for roofing estimates, they took the longest time to respond - 2 days and just created an afternoon appointment without asking to consider whether that time would be appropriate or whether the date would work. When I called to reschedule and ask for a more appropriate time (I am a working professional), I was met with the response that the estimater only worked weekdays till 1PM, even though their hours state that they work until 6pm and on the weekend. This is not an option for anyone who has to work for a living. I was shocked at their lack of flexibility and accomodation.

Porter's staff was very considerate, polite, responsive, productive and did the job quickly and thoroughly in three days. They cleaned up after each visit and responded immediately to any phone calls or requests. They also followed up.

I contacted Porter Roofing, Inc as well as two other roofing companies in the Phoenix area via email on 11 February, 2012, stating what work needed to be done and time frames for the work. I heard back from Porter Roofing, Inc (the only company to respond) on 13 February, 2012 from (Hannah), who stated that they had received my request, they did cover the San Tan Valley area and they had no problem getting me on their schedule for the date(s) I had requested. I reside in Missouri but own a property in San Tan Valley so I believed that coordinating a work time with the dates I had given them would have been difficult, but to my delight a date was selected when I would be on-site. I sent a copy of my home inspection for the property which detailed the work required and an estimate was completed off of the home inspection and sent to me. I was amazed at the cost! I thought I was going to pay alot more for the job. An appointment was scheduled for 12 March, 2012. Their workers arrived around mis-moring and it took approximately 1.5 hours from start to finish. I was sent an invoice the very next day by (Maribel), and saw that the actual cost of the work was xactly the same as the estimate. Before their work I had fixed some water damageto the second floor on some walls and spots on the ceiling. After their work it had rained hard once and everything is still dry and there is no signs of leaks. I wish to commend Porter Roofing, Inc for their responsiveness to my request and their professionalism towards me in fixing the problems with my roof in a timely manner... they are amazing! Thank you so very much.

did not get a call back till monday afternoon only to be told someone else would get back with me in another 24 hours to set up an appt. for an est. on Tues I had a message saying they could come out for an est. in about a week a week and a half....

We got 3 bids from Angie's List top rated roofers. Porter was the only one that didn't try to sell us a whole new roof. The other bids came in at $10,000 and $12,000. Porter's bid was $1800. Of course, we went with Porter. They were professional in the bid process, did the work within two weeks of the bid. They had some backlog, which was the reason for the delay. The work took one day to complete. We did have some minor issues regarding quality. The crew did not properly trim the underlayment, so it was sticking out from under the tiles in some areas. Also, roofing nails were left in the yard, including some I found in the street in front of the house. These issues were promptly fixed after calling Porter even though they had been paid in full. Given the honestly of the bid and the professionalism of the estimator and office staff, we were very satisfied.

They came in and repaired several leaks that were overlooked by another crew. They showed their license number right away so I could verify they were legal. They let me know that with in three years, I will have to have my roof replaced. They are very honest.

We contacted four firms with high ratings on Angie's List. Three of them submitted bids (Lyon did not) and there was a broad range of prices and warranties (one had 3 years). We evaluated them carefully, and decided on Porter as the best one. Porter Roofing took off the old foam roof (actually two, one applied over the other), and did a superior job in applying the new one. Dennis Porter took a personal interest, and explained in detail exactly what needed to be done, how it would be done, and what we would have on completion. We had a lot of questions, and he came back a second time and answered them all- I never felt like we were being pressured or "snowed". The job was completed in a timely fashion, and the crews cleaned up carefully every day. You are never sure what you will get on a job like this, where you don't do it very often- I am pleased to say that Porter met and exceeded our expectations- the new roof is beautiful, and we look forward to many years (10 year warranty!) of a solid roof. Highly recommended!
