Met with owner Craig to get quote and design. Craig drew a quick sketch and estimate for general work on the stop. We had several other quotes and had to wait several weeks for those to return. We landed on Craig because of a couple of reasons, 1) he was willing to listen to my ideas and wants for the yard and take my style into consideration, 2) he was going to be on the job everyday with his crew and a key part of what was delivered. It took several weeks for all to be approved by the HOA, but Craig was great about staying in touch and following up. As soon as the HOA approved, he was ready to get us on the schedule. He met with us personally at both the rock store and nursery to discuss options and make selections, even on a Saturday. The job was done as committed to in 2 days and my husband was there and available to answer questions. Everything was completed the way we wanted and if we wanted something changed, like the placement of a tree, the crew worked with us to make it the way we wanted. Yard looks great and Craig has been by to check on everything and make sure its working right. Just a pleasure to work with and get a great yard done this fall. I really appreciated the professionalism and pace.

Last year, AZ NativeScapes completed an entire irrigation, front yard, and back yard design and install at our house. Since then, friends and neighbors have continually praised the beauty and quality of their work. We called Craig up to design a solution for our side yard where our gate is and a privacy hedge between our neighbors house. Craig and his crew showed up as scheduled and knocked everything out as promised and under budget. My wife and me are both in technology so we have a keen eye for attention to detail. Craig and his crew from AZNativeScapes were fabulous! Craig is a grass roots contractor, meaning he takes his time with each of his clients. He is also a pretty jovial guy and you can tell he enjoys his work. He is very knowledgeable since he's been in the business for most of his life. He gave me 2 in person consultations to fine tune my ideas before the job started. He was very fairly priced and to have such personalized service by Craig was so incredible and priceless actually! He and his crew were very mindful of the job, my home, my questions along the way, and Craig explained things easily so we were on the same page. The end result was taking my small, old, weathered, back yard of concrete & rock and turning it into a glorious living space with pavers, stuccoed perimeter walls, beautiful accent rock, lighting, and this custom fire trough! See pictures, it is BEAUTIFUL! Projects like these are a collaboration, good communication and some research will help you translate your ideas easily. Some tips are to print pictures off the internet, magazines, catalogs, ect. Realize that it is a 'work in progress' and some things may need to be altered since it is construction. Be flexible. Be kind. Let him & his crew use your bathroom if needed and provide water for them. And lastly, understand these guys work HARD and any gratuitous appreciation of their labor is always appreciated. This is quality work, you won't be disappointed.

Too busy to do bids or take on new projects for at least a month, Said they couldn't look at or bid a project until at least December.

Everything went very smoothly from the first meeting to the end result. We picked out the tumbled blocks we wanted for the planter walls & we picked out the plants. Craig & his crew were always on time & everything was done in one day. Also they do a great job of including you in all the decisions. They did a really good job of cleaning up as well. I can't think of anything bad to say about this experience.

Craig offered to look at our sprinkler valves and it turned out to be a quick flush was all that was required. He even took the time to teach me how to flush the sand out of the valves.

This was a very large project and Craig and his Team did an outstanding job! It required the removal of all the old rock and plants (about 60 tons), regrading of the yards, and then the installation of all the new items. Craig worked with my wife and I to create a plan for the new yards and helped us pick the plants, rocks, and pavers so everything "matched". The job took about 10 days to complete. During the job, Craig and Team were always on time, professional, kept us informed of the progress, and were always willing to answer our questions or make minor adjustments as we progressed. Everything turned out perfect! Front Yard - Created new patio and installed pavers for patio and walkway to sidewalk - Created block/stucco wall with posts to surround new patio. - Extended width of driveway by 2 ft with new concrete - Installed plants, rocks, lights, drip system Back Yard - Installed several hundred SF of artificial turf. - Installed concrete pad for Veranda. - Built block/stucco enclosure for BBQ and installed. - Ran electrical to BBQ and Veranda. - Installed flagstone around perimeter of pool - Installed plants, rocks, lights, drip system - Poured concrete walkway extension on side of house. - Installed block/stucco wall for new gate. In addition to all this work, Craig has also followed up with us after the job was done to ensure everything was as we expected. We had 1 flagstone that was "rocking" a little after everything had settled. Craig and Team came out and fixed it the next day. Craig made landscaping the front yard of our fixer-upper fun, taking it from dirt to delightful in a day. His explanations during the estimate were invaluable. He reviewed our proposed layout, made a number of cogent suggestions, and in the end produced a better yard than we would have received if we'd stuck with our plan. He took our priorities into account and made appropriate adjustments to his typical mix of plants. We had a number of other landscapers bid on the project, and eventually went with AZ Nativescapes because Craig was the only one who seemed to be listening to what we wanted, did not steamroll us or push us into a standard model, and who explained what he would be doing in enough detail that we were sure we would be getting what we wanted. During the run-up to the installation he was in touch frequently, spent a day with us at the nursery selecting an appropriate mix of plants, and took time to walk the neighborhood with us, pointing out the variations in gravel colors and sizes, to ensure that the new yard fit in with the neighbors'. The installation itself was fast and easy. His crew replaced an outdated irrigation system, re-zoning it to match the needs of the new plants, trees, and vegetable garden, including in the back yard (not part of the original estimate), removed a decaying cement walkway, leveled the ground, installed mounding, installed roughly 16 plants, and added gravel, and left detailed maintenance instructions. He checked back in several times after the installation to be sure no plants needed to be replaced. There was one minor issue in that his crew forgot to turn the irrigation system on before they left, but we caught that before anything died. Once the system was turned on, everything recovered within two days. Nonetheless, Craig swung by later in the week, just to be sure. We did override Craig on one issue, and that was a mistake. The yard would have looked better had we done as he recommended. But that's not his fault. He asked several times, but in the end did it the way we asked for (the wrong way). Despite our meddling, AZ Nativescapes transformed our yard from the local eyesore to the nicest yard on the block, while also cutting our water use in half. Highly recommended.

The previous owner had opted for low maintenance with the front and back yard. The front yard had little to no plants, no irrigation and green rocks. The back yard was made up of river rock with a humped divider and regular rock. Planted in the river rock was cactus, cactus and more cactus. No trees, no plants, no anything but cactus. The temperature in the back yard, which faces west, could reach 20 to 30 degrees higher than the air temperature. I understand that I was living in the Sonoran desert; however, I didn't want it in my back yard. Craig came up with some wonderful ideas when he visited for an estimate. We worked out the type of yard at my dining room table and Craig and his associates showed up the next day. Craig suggested saving the river rock and making rock rivers in the back and front which turned out beautifully and saved me money. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was by the professionalism of Craig and his group. Craig was right there with his group working and conveying to me any concerns or issues. The front and back were finished in two days and Craig has come back twice for inspections to see how everything is going. It is such a pleasure to sit on my porch and look at my new back yard which now includes trees (two), plants, a grass plot and the rock rivers. The front yard is wonderful as well and I have received numerous compliments from my neighbors. In short, if you need landscaping done, Craig offers that personalized and professional touch that is missing when a company just sends out a foreman and workers. It was a pleasure to work with him and his associates.

It was a good experience. He was on time, professional, and friendly. He was willing to work with the materials that we wanted and made suggestions. He was also willing to work with our budget. However, he was more expensive than our other estimate so we didn't use them.

Craig and his team at AZ Nativescapes were great! I had gotten a couple estimates before meeting with Craig. His prices were competitive and he made me feel at ease right off the bat. Being a recent Arizona transplant, I was somewhat unfamiliar with landscapes in AZ. Craig was quick to lend a helping hand and provided me with plenty of ideas, based on his years of AZ landscaping experience. Craig and his team's customer interaction was second to none. Throughout the course of the project, I was kept informed on the progress and where we stood budget wise. They finished right on time and right on budget. I was amazed at what they were able to accomplish in a few days, doing whatever it took to finish the job on time, while paying an extraordinary amount of attention to every detail. The end result was amazing! They took an empty lot of dirt and rocks, and turned it into something you might see at a country club. They have followed up with me several times in the weeks since the project was completed to ensure that everything was going well with the plants and equipment that they installed, which I thought was nice. I definitely plan on using them when I do my front yard, and I would recommend AZ Nativescapes to anyone!

Craig and his crew always do a good job. He quotes a fair price and in our case always met the quote. The crew has great attention to detail and made sure the grading was perfect and the paver install was top rate. I trust Craig to give a fair price and follow through will excellent work.

AZ Nativescapes did an excellent job with the hardscaping aspects of the job. They did a great job installing new blocks on our wall, installing the xeriscape and the flagstone. I would recommend AZ Nativescapes for any hardscaping job. I would strongly deter anyone from letting AZ Nativescapes install a new irrigation system in a yard with mature landscaping. AZ Nativescapes did a horrible job with the design and install of the irrigation system in the mature part of the yard. The new irrigation system that was replaced has given us nothing but trouble. The layout was poorly designed. We have had to constantly tweak the sprinklers to provide adequate coverage for the whole yard. AZ Nativescapes has helped us with the 'tweaking' but whatever changes we make there is always a section of the yard that the sprinklers can't cover. It is pretty clear the sprinkler layout was poorly designed. We are probably going to have sink some more money to redo the irrigation.

Craig Rawlings met with us first to see if we liked his ideas, he offered us several options at different prices. We clicked right away with him he has great personailty fun and very knowledgeable in his field. Craig and his team worked on Sat on the deconstruction first. We had dying palm tree and with dated brick border. Also he suggested we tear out all the original sidewalk to make a flagstone meandering side walks.....we were a little hesitante at first, but we are so glad we took his suggestion.....the difference was dramatic. Our house was built in 86 and a flip sale so our back and side yards were just flat and dirt. Craig and his fantastic team turned our yard in to a paradise in 4 days! They built three mounds, a flagstone walk from yard gate to patio and another from patio to pool area. Built a wall around to hide AC unit, this also cut down the noise. One of the mounds they made a small cactus garden. Also installed artificial grass coming off the patio area. He works with you and learns what you like to make your landscaping reflect your personal tastes. He helps you pick plants that will work best in your yard and climate. Our pool is on the side of house. They tore our old pool gate that congested the area. Installed travertine tile on right side of pool with cut outs for trellises so we could have plantings without loosing the space on pool deck. The pool looks so much more inviting....we are amazed everyday with the transformation of our entire yard and pool! Thank You Craig and many thanks to all of your team.....they are Great.... Craig Rawlings (AZ NativeScapes) is the rock star of landscaping! We have used him for a few years and he never ceases to amaze. We discussed plans to improve our landscaping and it is as if Craig can read your mind. He listens and intently fulfills your every wish. His vast experience allowed him to notice one of our oleanders was starting to affect and crack a neighboring wall, something we did not see. We will definitely use AZ Native Scapes with Craig again and will tell everyone what a great job they did. Craig's crew arrived at 7AM the morning they said they would be here. He worked with his men and was here with them all day. They did such a professional job and the yard looked 110% better when they were completed. Craig did so many little extras for us and was so helpful in choosing the plants and trees we wanted. AZ NativeScapes owner, Craig Rawlings was a pleasure to work with. We are seasonal residents and knew very little about desert landscaping. Our goal was to have desert landscaping in the front yard and have the back yard an oasis with palms, flowers, fountain, etc. We met with Craig several times and he patiently worked with us to develop a plan that we believed we would be happy with. We reviewed previous customer comments/feedback and actually visited a job that Craig and his crew were working on. Craig gave us a firm price and told us the project would take two weeks to complete. He and his crew were here at 7 am everyday. I always worry about a contractor that is not present to manage his crew and the project. I could see from the first day that that wasn't going to be a problem. Other than running to get supplies, dumping waste materials, etc. Craig was on site and worked diligently with his crew everyday, all day. There were some minor changes as the project progressed and most were positive changes that improved the outcome. I can say without hesitation that Craig Rawlings is very experienced at what he does, he treats his crew with respect and they respect him. The job was completed in exactly two weeks and on budget. I fully recommend AZ NativeScapes for your landscape project.

Craig was everything a business owner should be - professional, on-time, extreamly versed in his trade, and very pleasent to work on all aspects of our job. We hired Craig to landscape our empty back yard, and after hearing our suggestions he provided an idea which showed his expierence in both AZ landscapes and working with his clients. Our work was completed on a very timly schedule, and done to perfection - nothing missed, everything as Craig indicated it would be from day 1. Craig and his team went above and beyond near the completion, taking care of our front trees and fixing a leak we had on our front system - all above and beyond, and really showing a professional working for his client's best interests. Craig met us at the nursery and went over each plant, and the benifits and drawbacks on using them around our yard. His knowledge was great, and we're very happy with our selection - Overall we are extreamly happy and fell our money was very well spent. Fabulous! Craig is wonderful--enthusiastic, smart, professional and fun. I called him and he had a gap in his schedule and said he could be at our house in 45 minutes. We purchased this house last spring and were concerned about the drip system, especially the source of a pooling leak we couldn't find or fix. Also the system seemed to run erratically. Even though the shrubs are only about 8 years old, they were looking very tired and woody. When Craig got here he immediately took me on a tour of my yard and identified for me the various shrubs and told me how low to prune them. During our "tour" I found out that Craig and his company are really "big project" landscapers, but Craig was willing to look at my relatively small problem and help me with my new home's unknown landscaping. He then addressed the drip system problem. He was puzzled by our leak, but his curiosity and professionalism kept him literally up to his elbows in mud in a hole in the lawn until he found and then easily solved the problem. We discussed adding more landscape rock to thin areas, and although he probably could have convinced me to re-rock, he had several suggestions for easy and effective fixes that saved me about $3000! Craig's energy and persistence is amazing! From my phone call to the fix took about 90 minutes! I realize I was lucky to catch Craig in a gap moment in his schedule, but his quick response and his attitude made this a fun landscape repair. everything was excellent! craig was honest, helped us improve/fine tune our ideas. he and his guys were quick, courteous and did amazing work. we have since recommended him to several of our good friends!

I called AZ NativeScapes in late January. The owner, Craig Rawlings, returned my called promptly (same day I called) and we set up a time to meet. Craig came to my home and looked at the lawn I wanted leveled. We discussed a few other improvements (plantings) that I had been considering. We sat down, he wrote out an estimated cost for the work, and set a date (Feb. 5) for the work to be done. On that day, Craig and his crew arrived right on time and began. He supervised the crew as they worked making sure everything the way I wanted. He checked with me frequently and showed me what was being accomplished each step of the way. He even met me at a local nursery later in the morning to allow me the opportunity to select the trees and plants I wanted installed. I especially appreciated this input. Since this nursery didn't have their roses bushes in yet and I knew another that did, I then drove out and picked up roses at another nursery while Craig headed back to his crew and the job. When everything was finished, Craig took me on a walk of each piece of work that he and the crew had done and explained upkeep of the new plants. He set the watering system while I watched, so I would know the settings nad times. What an expert job they did! I love my new lawns. I appreciated Craig's professionalism, promptness, conscientious execution of the work, and constant concern for my satisfaction.
