What went well is the question here: EVERYTHING! We’ve known Craig, the owner and Christian, the supervisor and Craig’s right hand man, for over 7ish years. They created our first front and back yard. Then we had to move from that lovely oasis they created and we called Craig, Craig!! We need help! Our new home had been neglected: palm trees dead and dying, about 18 leaks in irrigation system, turf that hadn’t been laid right and many empty spots all over where the last owners had pulled out plants and left holes and piping sticking up! And we are semi-professional bird watchers. 😃. Our yard had nothing to attract birds; turf and barely there rocks. Can you say, “ boring, blank, scary… Say hello to all these “prison like block walls” that AZ seemingly loves?? Ugh! Craig, Christian and 2-3 workers were as always PROFESSIONALS! You can call me OCD, and I won’t argue. Every single thing you can ask for, they do! Every single rock was in place ( I’m not exaggerating, I caught someone moving two little river rocks!). After talking with you to help your vision, my husband went with Craig to the nursery having fun picking out plants and trees together. Don’t worry, Craig teaches you what plants are hardy and withstand the heat ( Heat, seriously? No Way!!) He has always guided us in how and when to water, prune and fertilize for every season, because let’s face it , just about every one of us needs guidance; this heat is brutal, the monsoons look like they’ve left us and the dirt is bone dry. Craig texts you a week later to see if all is well and then one month later he comes to look at everything to be sure you’re still loving your new green paradise. You know, I could tell you all about everything they did, new irrigation for front and back, rocks too, mounds for contrast, plants and trees up the whazoo,, but everyone’s projects are different. I think I should tell you about the amazing AZ landscapers ( and creators) These men work tirelessly, not once did we see anyone on their phones! EVERYTHING they do is carried out like it was their own yard! Perfection, PERFECTION! And Craig and Christian are a step away if you have a question or a concern. They believe in making the yard of YOUR dreams. But listen, for the people who don’t have a dream or hot desire but you just know SOMETHING has to be done on your yard, you’re in good hands. Craig knows how to guide you and create for you. Speaking of working with you, Craig took every one of our 30 some plants and two trees and while still in their pots, laid them out in the yard where he thought we might like, then we had him move a few things around to eyeball it and decide what we liked best! There is a reason why we called Craig after 7 years again, because he created WITH us. He can help you even if you have no idea where to start. He is really knowledgeable about plants, rocks, irrigation systems ( they put a whole new system in) grass, turf, pavers, flag stones, river beds, upscale backyard grill or fireplace area etc. He knows all of the nurseries and has professional relationships with them. Craig has been doing this for 30 some years here! So he’ll be honest with you about that one plant you really want but it’s not going to survive, he’ll tell you if something you’re planning to do might not be beneficial to you. He’s got a great sense of humor and is a joy to be around. Both times when the yards were finished I hated to see them go ( Craig always got a hug)! They don’t over promise and under deliver! No hidden costs or surprises here! These guys love their work and I’m not being untruthful when I tell you, it shows! You CAN NOT find a better company with good prices to work magic in your yard! We have a big _ss pool and I really hate it, but my grandkids love it. It takes up so much space and I’m a nature loving fool. I didn’t think there was much Craig could do for our yard as we sat out back staring at “prison walls”. His remedy?? VINES that will cover these drab ugly walls with yellowish reddish flowers and bring back the birds! I can’t wait to see them take off! Well…have I convinced you that Craig and his team at AZ Nativescapes is THE one to pick?? If not, then I don’t know how much more I can say! LOL. But seriously guys, you can’t go wrong to trust your yard with them! We’ve made a friend for life with Craig and I’ll never trust anyone else to create my yard. Call them right now. In May 2017 we hired AZ NativeScapes to landscape our townhouse back yard, which was originally nothing but boring gravel. These photos were taken right after work was completed; the plants have grown a LOT since then, and now it's quite the paradise out there. Work included pavers on the patio and extended two feet past the concrete pad, a new paver walkway from the gate down to the driveway, a half wall to hide the trash cans (which blends in perfectly with the back wall - you'd never know it wasn't original), leveling and reshaping the yard, moving boulders to better locations, new gravel for the yard, an artificial turf area, new plantings, and an irrigation system. Quality of the work was fantastic, and Craig and his crew were so easy to deal with. They worked quickly and were done with everything in a couple of days. July 2022 update: the irrigation system started acting up - wasn't running the whole programmed time, then stopped turning on at all. Christian came out and did some troubleshooting to figure out the problem, then replaced the valve solenoid at no charge. How's that for service, five years after the original job! If you need any kind of landscaping done, AZ NativeScapes just has to be your first call. We love the work they did transforming our yard into a place we enjoy every day.

They did a great job. After the initial consultation, I told them I was going to go with them on a Friday and they started work on Monday. Completed a whole back yard landscape, including demo of what was there, in 4 days. Turned out great. Exceeded my expectations.

Don’t Hesitate, Just Make The Call... Making the decision to work with AZ Nativescapes was the best decision we have made! We recently relocated from out-of-state and purchased a 5 year old home. Previous owner landscaped what was “required upon purchase” in front and left backyard with nothing. Blank canvas, great! “Head scratch, what now?” After meeting with numerous contractors, I reached out to Craig with AZ Nativescapes. As soon as we met and did the initial walk through, I knew that this was who I wanted to trust in completing our project. The communication was great from the initial phone conversation, to the completion of the project. We sat and discussed budget, design needs and time of completion. We had a loose idea of what we liked and Craig built upon that with his suggestions of materials, plants and functional design. Work included: Travertine patio and combo artificial turf areas, paver walkways, various trees and plants, irrigation and landscape lighting. When it was all said and done, the communication, design ideas, execution and efficiency of work, cleanliness onsite and the ability to meet budget requirements, far exceeded our expectations!

Went great - just as Craig explained. Their team was very professional and hard working. I'm already planning Phase II!!

If you're reading this review, that means you're someone who cares about quality and willing to go the extra mile to make sure you pick the BEST! Well guess what - that's exactly what I did and that is why I chose AZ NativeScapes. Craig and his team EXCEEDED my expectations by a long shot! They did my entire backyard in under one week! They installed approximately1,600 sq. ft of pavers, 500 sq. ft of artificial turf, 8 ton of gravel, 8 plants + drip system for $16,800. Their bid was in the middle of the other bids I received; however, what sold me was...guess what - the tons & tons of positive reviews I read online. So don't just take it from me...if you want the BEST, look no further!

Outstanding - we appreciated Craig's creativity in helping us to select plants, that the folks at the nursery knew him and made a side comment to me personally that we'd picked one of the "good ones," and that he had a larger vision than we did for how to create a beautiful outdoor space for us. He replaced our drip irrigation system in the front and back yard, trimmed our trees and plants, installed a new timer, and this quote included purchasing new gravel for the front yard, and adding about 15 new plants to the front and back yard, including a citrus tree (which later died, but we later admitted that the location for the tree was probably not a good one - it was the 2nd tree to die there.). All of our plants look beautiful and lush during the spring, and some of them still bloom into the summer, and others bloom into the fall so that we always have something nice to look at. We enjoyed Craig and will call on him again for a second home we would like to install a new drip irrigation system for.

So Craig the owner came out for estimate same day of contacting him. We told him what we wanted and he explained their process and how we can get what we wanted while keeping the project cost effective. Right away I felt like Craig knew what we had in mind. This was not a small or an easy job. The job started with killing off the existing plants and grass(weeds). Then demo, lots of mature plants with some hefty root systems, Chandler hard clay. Craig estimated 3 days total, and him and crew were able to pull it off. Total we had new irrigation front and back-sprinklers and drip system Sod 1800sq ft. 800sq ft of pavers 30 plants and cactus planted Craig has come by after all was done to make sure plants and grass are surviving and that the water system is working right. We agreed on a price and like always littles things come up and change but Craig kept us updated, rolled with the punches and didn’t nickel and dimes for any of the “extras”. These guys do great work and move fast. They’ll start your job and stay till its finished, not spreading themselves all over town. Me and the wife are very pleased, very happy that we found AZ NativeScapes. Recommend for sure.

The job done by the company was outstanding. Owner Craig proposed a plan that incorporated all our wants and the company started a week later. Craig was on site everyday for the two weeks the project took to complete. We were able to make changes as work progressed so had a lot of hands on input which we appreciated. His three person crew were absolutely excellent - very talented stonemasons, attentive to detail and hardworking. We definitely recommend this company.

1 out of 10? 100 stars! STOP LOOKING NOW I’m not kidding you! YOU HAVE JUST FOUND THE LANDSCAPER YOU WANT! Where do I start?! Craig, the owner, was punctual, arrived every day. He answer all texts and phone calls instantly. They started and didn’t wander to other jobs, but gave us 100% attention. Everything was done from designing to the last plant put in with perfection. Think I’m exaggerating? I AM NOT! I’ve never seen a team work so cohesively! Craig is a friend to us from the beginning. Took us to the nursery helping us pick plants for every one of our needs. He worked with one of the many nurseries in this area that know and respect him. He arrived on time, hooked up with one of the knowledgeable nursery professionals to help walk through and explain and field questions; Craig was right with us, collaborating with us and the nursery for best choices. Craig gets deep discounts because he is THE landscaper of the year. Actually has been awarded the best landscaper since 2009 I believe it was, every year since. Who else could you want working in your yard? By the time they left, every single pebble was in its place. They even swept and water sprayed up all the sand and rocks left in the street or gutter areas. He checked up with us at least twice after the first and second week to make sure watering schedule was right. Oh, and they guarantee the plants! You ever have problems, he’s a call away because the yard they built is their masterpiece, they want it working for you forever. Best thing about Craig and his professional crew...well it’s hard to choose...they come everyday, work all day, Craig the owner was on-site with us everyday. Craig’s personality? Let’s put it this way, I didn’t want the job to finish because he was an instant friend. So honest, kind, authentic...we had quite a few laughs together. His personality is what makes his crew and work so fun and so perfect. He isn’t done until you are 100% satisfied. I just can’t put into words adequately how good this company is! When my yard was all finished ( it took only two days!), I cried . I was so stunned and thankful for my piece of paradise. I’ve ran out of texting strength, but not adjectives. So, if you want quality, honesty, transparency, award winning work and results...stop looking. You’ve found it right here!

The work was very professional. It was done in a timely manner. It was done with in the budget. The workmanship is excellent. Communication was terrific. The design met the goals we laid out before the project started. If we had concerns during the project, they were addressed immediately. If we had decisions to make, we were given time to think about our options and all of our questions were answered so we could make an informed choice.

This company is no longer accepting any request to bid. Not sure if they need to hire more ppl or it means they don't want anymore work or they don't want to spend their time bidding, but they shouldn't appear on Angie's if they are refusing to bid.

Craig and his crew were excellent. The whole project went very smoothly and we were very pleased with the results. Craig was very helpful with all phases of the project. His crew were very hard working, experienced and did a great job.

Craig and his team at AZ Nativescapes did an amazing, efficient job. They were all polite, informative and willing to make changes as we went. I enjoyed looking at materials and talking designs with Craig to make sure we created a perfect yard for our growing family. The entire process went far better than we ever expected and only took 4 days start to completion. Every email, call or text was returned promptly. Craig has been by a few times to check on the grass and make sure everything is growing well. We will recommend AZ Nativescapes to friends and family or we will use them ourselves if we ever move and need to create another perfect yard!

Craig and his crew did an awesome job. We wanted him to do the backyard now but when We call his voicemail says he's not taking new clients. We're really disappointed because he did such a great job in the front.

Very fast and responsive. Came the same day and gave us a quote, brought us to his nursery and paver/stone supplier to pick out plantings, pavers, and stone. Demoed the old and put in the new in the same day. Very happy with our desertscape front yard.

They did a fabulous job for a great price!

It went great. Again. This is the second time we have used Craig and his team and both times have been great. They show up on time, work hard, get input as needed and the results are fantastic. In both our front yard and back yard, the only evidence that they were even there was that the yard was completely transformed. Great work!
