Bert Black Service Company did a good job.

They dropped the ball on the quote. The guy gave me one quote and I wanted something different. I asked him to try to rework some things and get back to me. I never heard back from them. The service call was good but the quote was lousy. The price was fair. I would use them again for repair work.

They were fantastic. It was through my home warranty company. They were amazing. They came on an emergency call after hours and did the repair and service quickly. I would use them again. It was the best experience I've had with a heat and air company.

I contacted 3 companies to come out and give me an estimate. Out of the 3, Bert Black was the best. Not only in terms of cost, but in service and professionalism. Jerry, (the fellow that gave me the estimate) was amiable, knowledgeable, and not pushy, like the others. I told him what I wanted done and he took care of it - no fuss. The repair man arrived in a timely manner (he also called ahead to make sure that the appointment time was still valid). He performed the work efficiently and was very polite. My experience with Bert Black was a good one. They were recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend them to anyone needed some work done. I plan to use them again in the near future.

I never did get a written estimate back from them. I've used them several years ago. Mr. Black himself was in charge and he's no longer in charge. It's his sons who are in charge now.

*I felt I had to be much more involved than I should have with the policy with AHS. The project took longer than it should have, and I had to push due to the cold weather, and my husband having pneumonia.

From the customer service appointment makes who seemed to care and willing to make all these separate appointments. The scheduler confirmed these appointments by working late and calling at 8 pm to assure they had everything scheduled. The services received were performed with the upmost respect and helpfulness beyond the call of duty. From the cleaning of boots with slip on boot covers, to assure all things were left in a clean and tidy way as when they received. They took all the parts to discard. I have all ready bragged about them to friends and will continue to refer individuals to them.

Tech did a good job inspecting and cleaning unit.

I thought that they did a good job. Their workers seemed knowledgeable. They gave us what I believe to be a good quality unit for the money. They were prompt, neat, and we haven't had problems since.

When our recalled water heater finally went out at the start of a long holiday weekend, I called my usual plumber first. There was a weekend person on duty, and he said he could install a new water heater if we went out and purchased it and brought it home. I then called Bert Black Maintenance. They were familiar with the model and that it had been recalled. Due to space limitations, I had to have a water heater that was the exact same height as my existing one. Less than two hours after I called, a technician was at our house with a new water heater. It fit perfectly, and he was able to install it and take the old one away without any problem. The price was very reasonable, and everyone was responsive and knowledgeable. Since this experience was so positive, I called them again when I needed to have an area of drywall and baseboard replaced after having a large vent moved. He was able to track down a similar baseboard to match that in our '50s house, and then he modified it so it matched the profile and size perfectly; you'd need a spotlight and a magnifying glass to see any difference. I really appreciated that they were able to accomodate my work schedule, as it took more than one trip because the joint compound had to dry and be sanded before the painting and base shoe installation could be done. In all my interactions, everyone was professional, friendly, and took a genuine interest in the work and getting it done to my satisfaction.

The man came out and looked at it and said the whole door and door jam needed to be replaced... ok well could he give me even a ball park figure NO! He said that he would have to go and price them and that would be included with his time and that he was going to charge me $50-$75 a hour and that it could probably be a few hours because he might have to cut and sand the door as well. I was so frustrated that he couldn't even get a ball park figure for me after all doesn't he do this kind of work all the time? My nieghboors dad is a carpenter so I found out, and he told me about how much the door and frame would be so we went to lowe's picked it up no problem and he put it in, in about 25m and we only had to pay $40 for his services!!

They do an excellent job. Their price is average. They certainly don’t overcharge and they are honest. They are extremely responsive. They come out on the same day or weekends if there is any emergency situation.

Excellent work, very professional. When we discovered that the door frame was rotting, they installed a new one that is rot-proof so the problem won't recur.

It did not go well. I initially called them to come after hours. They came and worked (actual time) for 25 minutes but charged me for 80 minutes, stating that they charge for the time since they get the call, even-though their drive to my place was way less then 55 minutes. They left stating they will come the next day at 3PM. However, they called back in the morning to re-schedule at noon. I had to leave work before noon and waited for them at home for 3 and a half hours, when finally i decided to call them. They were not planning on coming and had re-scheduled (on their own, without informing me) for 3 days later. I had them come in. One plumber worked for exactly one hour, but again charged me for 2 hours, but also called another plumber to bring in tools he (the first plumber) did not have. And guess what, i had to pay the second plumber one hour. I am not an expert, but the work they did was not complicated whatsoever (i was with them all the time and even helped out). I complained about the bill, how they computed the hours, and their lousy professional service but in vain. I called their office and complained, i was supposed to hear from them after their boss looks into the hour computation, but never heard back. I would not call them again if i have an emergency and they are the only plumbers available. I would definitely not recommend them. I had told them i was a physician and that i had to re-schedule all my patients on the day they were almost 4 hours late. They seemed to me dishonest and they would not mind taking advantage of people to make an easy buck.

The estimate process was thorough, timely and the repair personnel were quick and very efficient. The company responded to questions quickly and when we had a miscommunication about a small part of the job, they fixed it immediately. I am very pleased with the work they did and the professional manner in which they did it. I was also pleased that they listened to my parameters for the job and didn't try to convince me to do more work than was necessary to achieve my goals.

I thought they were great! The work was done in a timely manner. It took them a little longer because I basically had a flood in my basement from the old water heater, so that is why they had to replace two of the pipes as well. It was a little higher to do this work because of the situation. We were satisfied with the work and the cost involved.

They did a good job and they were really very dedicated to my home. They spent a lot of quality time and effort on getting the plumbing system up and going and ready for us to move in. The work was done under our home buyer s warranty.

They were very respectful and complied with our requests. They cleaned up very well and did a great job on my roof. They got an A because you rarely get companies that care about the work they do.

I have used Bert Black's services for many years, probably around eighteen or so. I must say that they are a good group of good-hearted down to earth everyday people like me. They are very dependable and very reasonable. One thing you know when they come, the job will get down right and done at the first visit. They do not play games with your money nor your emotions.

Bert Black Maintenance work has made us very pleased with them. The workers they sent were very nice and hard working. They took care of everything. It is really convenient because they did pretty much any type of home maintenance. We've used them for a lot of projects over the last eight or nine years, including building a ramp for my husbands wheelchair. They charged me $40.00 an hour but not sure how many hours they worked.

I have used him for so many different thing through out the years I now consider him a friend. He's a great guy and runs a very reliable and trustworthy company. I love knowing that if anything goes wrong, he stands behind his work and will fix it immediately.

Bert Black comes once a year to inspect both our air conditioning and heating system and maintain it. They didn't do any work last time, but gave us a report. We've used this company for the past ten years.

We've been using the same company for years because he is so reliable and trustworthy. If there are any problems between check ups has very quick to get someone out to look at it.

He did good job. I was very pleased with the work that he did. He's actually a Jack of all trades. I wouldn t want to hire any other company. He also showed up on time. Just the way he carried himself made me feel safe while he was in the home.
