Brown Boys Roofing

Owner came and gave estimate to perform replacing lost shingles during last wind/rain storm. Explained what they would do and price. We gave him the okay to perform and the work was to be accomplished the next week with no exact date. The following week came and went with no response from this company. I called Brown Boys on April 27, 2016 and asked when they where going to do the work. I was told it was scheduled on Friday, April 29, 2016. The date came and went with again no calls from Brown Boys. Finally on May 3, 2016 I called them and told them to forget it as they never perform the work nor have the decency to call me at any time. Apparently the job was not costly enough for them Several days later I called another roofing company and they came out immediately and replaced the shingles and at haft the price Brown Boys were gong to charge. I've always had good luck with companies reviewed on Anglies List until I dealt with this company.

We used Brown Boys Roofing for roofing last year. They were excellent. I loved it. They actually have come back since that time and helped us out with it. They are always cordial. I just have never had any problems at all. The last time they came out was about 3 days ago when I called them. There was no cost for the last visit. I sure will use them again in the future. I hope I don't have to because it is supposed to be guaranteed for 50 years. Definitely I would recommend them to anybody else.

I had issues with my shingles coming off. Brown Boys said the issue was related to a manufacturing issue. The manufacturer said the shingles were improperly installed. I as the customer was stuck in the middle because they blamed each other. Bill Brown from Brown Boys didn't feel that it was right for me to absorb the cost of replacing shingles each time- so each time pieces have come off, he has come out himself or someone else from his company has come out and fixed free of charge.

these guys are professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them and would call them for any other work I need done.

They gave the estimate over the phone. From what I recall, they got the estimate back to me within a day or two. They seemed to be professional. However, the estimate they provided to be higher than others. I had someone else do the work for a lower bid.

Their cost was the most reasonable price on the market at the time. When the technician came out, it was just supposed to be a quick roof inspection. He spent a lot of time on the inspection and explaining everything to us very well. He was completely honest and told us the roof was in great condition. They are fabulous! If there is ever a problem with our roof, he is the first person I would call.

We had some a patio revision and they reversed the flow to the other side of the house. That worked out very well. Besides roofing, they do windows as well. We had a problem with the window in the dining room that leaked during rain storms. I had varied opinions from other contractors on what could be wrong. He was able to explain to us that it was not a brick problem and instead it a problem with the window. He was able to seal it and I haven’t had an issue with water coming in it since. They were quick to respond with scheduling and punctual to appointments. They left no mess behind with each job and it looked better than before they arrived. I thought they were upfront and honest. We had no issues at all. Our experience went very well.

I believe I called Brown Boys Roofing on the 9th of September to get a representative to come out and give us an estimate. They immediately called me back and set up a time for the next day. Bill Brown came and was very professional in explaining what the roof needed and what they would be doing. Because of the roof's weather related damage he noticed, he suggested we might check with our Home Owners Insurance adjuster to see if our Insurance would cover the payment of replacing the Roof, and he would be on hand if needed. We did contact our Insurance company and the adjuster was suppose to meet on Sept 12, but didn't because of possible rain I believe, (he didn't call me to tell me) He came on the end of the following week about the 18th or 19th, and said he would write it up and send us a check; However, that night a very Hard rain came through here and caused the roof to leak in my Father's bedroom, (LOL) I mean Pour down from his Light Fixture in his room. He was NOT a happy Camper. My Father asked me to follow up and call Brown Boys Roofing to have Bill to send us his estimate via my Email, like he had first indicated. I gave my email address again to the Office secretary that answers their phone. On Sept 23 we contacted our Insurance Agent Adjuster to tell him about the rain leak incident, and he was going to adjust his amount and would let us know. I did check my Email, and my "Spam" email to see if Bill Brown had sent us his estimate, but nothing was there. Therefore, my Father did not want to be caught in another Rain Leak, so we went with one of the other three Contractors we had contacted earlier. I did give a courtesy call to advise the secretary that we had decided to use another. However, we would certainly not hesitate to recommend Brown Boys Roofing.

Went from electrical vents to regular. They did wonderful work, reassured us with a warranty. They were very punctual, and professional and have always gotten great service.

.The job was done as requested in a very timely and professional manner. We have a very strange work and sleep schedule which I asked Brown Boys to work around. They only worked on the days and during the hours which would not interfere with our sleeping. I also put a rush on the job after the contract was written. The job was finished ahead of schedule and on budget. I would strongly recommend Brown Boys to anyone who wants quality, professional & friendly service. This is my first house and my first time replacing a roof. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me through it.

The Brown Boys' crew showed up right on time and almost immediately asked me where the staples for the felt were. I had not been told I had to provide them and I had to run into town (10 minute drive each way) to purchase the staples for the crew. When I returned, I was told of OTHER things "missing" from the materials necessary to do the job; hip & ridge shingles and special waterproof felt for the valleys plus a tube of silicone . When I went to Home Depot (25 minutes each way) I discovered that the hip & ridge shingles were special order and could not be delivered for about 3 days. I called Bill Brown to complain and he "walked" me through what I REALLY needed (not what the roofing crew foreman told me I needed). I was able to get the missing materials so that the job could be finished that day. This was on a Saturday and at 12:30pm, the foreman told me he and his crew were going to lunch. At 3:10pm, I called Bill Brown to express concern about some of the shingles on the half of the house that had been re-roofed and the fact that the crew never returned from "lunch"! Brown said he'd find out what happened. I never heard back from him that day, nor the next. However, at 12:30pm on Sunday, less than half of the crew returned to finish the job. They did a great job on the roof on the front of the house and did a fair job of cleaning up after themselves. The only complaint about the crew is that they didn't clean up the old roofing nails that had become lodged in the spaces between the boards of my deck. When Brown came around on Monday, he did a thorough inspection and explained the "setting" of the upturned shingles on the back of the house required temperatures of 90-degrees. He also told me that he would train his crews to clean up nails from wooden decks. All in all, I saved about $800.00 by using Brown Boys Roofing compared to the next closest professional bid, so in spite of some of my frustrations, I am very pleased with the final job they did for me.

I contacted Brown Boys Roofing on a Friday afternoon regarding problems with the roof. The person answering the phone was very friendly and helpful. She was able to schedule someone to take a look the following Monday during my lunch break. I arrived home 5 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment and found 2 technicians waiting on me. I explained the concern and they checked for the problem. It was quickly determined that the flashing needed to be installed. They also did a quick survey of the rest of the roof and indicated it looked fine. The work was done the same afternoon. I was very impressed with the service. They were able to determine the problem and fix it without trying to sell me a whole new roof.

.It took them alittle while to come out but it was because of a storm but that wasn't their fault alot of people were affected by the storm. I was concerned about them leaving nails and stuff laying around the yard as i have little children but they were really good with their clean up. They did a good job.

I called the company to get an estimate for repairing a leat at a roof vent pipe penetration. I also wanted an estimate to secure a loose shingle and to remove two unused satellite anntenas with associated mounts and cables and patching fastener holes. I was told when I called that there would be a $40.00 charge for a roof inspection. The company was very responsive and professional. I did not use their service because I felt their price was too high. I also did not feel that the $40.00 roof inspection was necessary just to provide an estimate for the work I wanted done.

Went well. Work was done quickly and professionally.

Our house was built in 1992; the roof was replaced in 2005. Since then three roof repairs by three different companies were unsuccessful in fixing a leak that each time produced water spots in the same general area of the kitchen ceiling. (We cannot review those companies because we did not keep records.) The brick fireplace in the living room backs up to the wall and ceiling of the kitchen; the chimney area has always been the prime suspect. In the last two to three months more ceiling spots appeared, one that increased to a foot in diameter. Three roofing companies agreed to conduct an inspection and provide us with a cost estimate. Our experiences with Robinson Roofing Company and Foster Roofing Company are also reported on Angie's List. The inspection by Brown Boys Roofing Company centered on the chimney area. I-Pad photos were used to show us areas around the chimney that had been previously repaired. Even through our non-roofer eyes it was evident that more could have been done to help insure longer-lasting repairs. He also pointed out what he thought was good flashing procedure that had been used around the chimney when the house had been built, which may have avoided larger, more frequent leaks, and said he would not remove that part of the flashing. We thought his comments about the builder were a nice gesture. The Brown Boys cost estimate was $881. Other than the roof replacement noted above (hail damage covered by insurance) and the earlier leak repairs( which were not too costly) we had little experience with roof repair costs. At our request, the Brown Boys roofer returned to talk with us, which he did to our satisfaction. The repairs were made the next day. Because we found the company on Angie's List we received a 10% discount that lowered our cost to $793. We told the roofer that we would wait out a few rainy days before posting a review on Angie's List; he thought that was fair. After recent rain, including that which is falling right now, our kitchen ceiling is dry and we expect it to remain so well into the future. Additionally and importantly, the roofer was professional and likable. His answers to our questions gained our confidence in his ability.
