Gullion Tile

Demolition went fine but the same men also reworked the sink water pipes. They were not certified plumbers and reversed the hot and cold water in the sink. Tiles were damaged after installation by the tile people and I had to call attention to them. The vanity was built offsite and when it arrived, it was too big and had to be altered onsite. The sink top was too long and required that I work with them to determine a fix. The painter used some of my leftover paint to finish the walls in the bathroom. This was a good job, but he painted the doors and window frame which turned out to be threee different shades of brown. My house has light oak woodwork but Mr. Gullion decided, without my knowledge, to have the vanity painted a dark color. Because the vanity was too big, the doors would not open wide enough (because of the doorknob on the entrance door) for the drawers to pull out. I found a low profile doorknob that Mr. Gullion ordered and installed to solve the problem. With the amount of money I paid, the bathroom should be a beautifully coordinated place instead of a missmatched room.

The men who did the work were extremely professional. I did not have to pick up cigarette butts or clean up after them. Each day everything was cleaned. I cannot believe how level the floor is now. They did an outstanding job. The tile went down and they even came on Saturday to do the grout. Some people may think the price was a little high but there was a tremendous amout of work done and it took most of five days. I would highly recommend this company for any floor leveling or tile installation. Great job!!! Thanks!!!

I was very happy with the work the contractor at Gullion Tile did. His work was high quality, told me to pick out some choices and came in on time and on budget. It's kinda hitting all bases at one time.

Andy and his crew did an outstanding job. They did exactly what they said in the time frame they said it would happen and for the price they quoted. They gave me the flexibility to change things along the way without changing the price when applicable. The crew was very respectful of my home and I would definitely recommend to anyone needing tile work or wanting a remodel done to give Andy and his crew the opportunity to help you!!!!!! We hired Andy and it was the best decision that we could have made. He really knows what it means to go the extra mile to make the customer happy. We had slight problems with our floor level and Andy didn't do a rush job and cover it up. He actually took a few extra days that he hadn't accounted (and our price didn't go up by the way) for to make sure that our issues were solved before he would move on. He's also very responsive if you have any questions or need to get a hold of him. At the end of job we had a few small issues, like grout missing in a few hidden spots and vent covers that fit too tightly but Andy had someone over the same day that we pointed them out. This guy one of the most Professional guys you'll ever hire and we've already recommended him to our friends that have seen his work at our house.

This show repair/rebuild went very well. Andy & his crew were very good and responsive from start to finish. Andy explained what needed to be done, ordered the replacement marble, made the necessary fixes and marble installation. Everything was professionally completed with a minimum of mess. We are satisfied with the work and would definitely recommend him to others.

Andy Gullion and his team of, well, what term would I use? Artisans? Maybe good, old fashioned, American work ethic drenched geniuses?? These guys are the best my wife and I have ever encountered! And we renovate houses for a living! Andy is the most honest and caring contractor you'll ever come across! He does exactly what he says he's going to do. He's there exactly when he says he's going to be there. And he stays in constant communication and actually verifies all details before proceeding with the work at hand. He and his crew ( Alan, Roman, and Artemus, we love 'em!!!) are the types where you can leave your jewels and $100.00 bills laying around while they're working, and you're in the Bahamas vacationing, and every penny and bracelet will be there when you come home to a finished job!! Did I mention clean? Yes, they thoroughly clean up after themselves and not just at the end of the job, but each and every day! And I mean clean! And you don't get so much as a whiff of tobacco or alcohol with Andy and crew! Oh! Did I mention he subcontracted out the plumbing and electrical work to two magnificent representatives of those skill sets?? You CANNOT go wrong with Andy Gullion!!! Very responsive and reasonably priced. Services began one day after request. Very professional sales and installation service. Installers cleaned work area daily. Job completed on time and within estimate! Highly recommended.

We phoned Mr. Gullion to see if he was available to provide an estimate for repair of our grout problem. He said he was and scheduled an appointment to come right away. He arrived on time for our scheduled appointment. Mr. Guillon looked at our grout problem and, fortunately, felt that it was a minor issue. He gave us his estimate immediately, and we felt it was very reasonable. At the time, Mr. Guillon also recommended the color of grout he felt would be a match for what we had, and he scheduled an appointment to send one of his repair people out to fix the problem within just a few days. The repairman arrived on time for our scheduled appointment, and he did a great job. He was very thorough in his work and did a good job of cleaning up after himself. Within a day or two, however, we realized that the new grout was too light. We called Mr. Gullion and told him, and he said he would send the repairman back right away to redo the work with a different color of grout, at no additional charge to us. The repairman returned within another few days and redid the work. This time the grout was a match and the floors look great.

We had a contractor bail out on the job and our money after completing the floor and the shower partially in our master bath. We were in a real bind as we had already been without the use of our master bath for 3 months at this point. We had also given a deposit to have wood floors ordered which we found out had never been ordered. We were so frustrated and heartbroken as you can imagine. With no other choice but to start over with someone else, we went on to Angie's list and found Andy's business with all good reviews. We called Andy on July 3rd, the day before the holiday, and he came out that afternoon to look at our situation. He immediately gave us a quote and had his guys at our house the day after the holiday. Unfortunately, the shower work done by the other contractor was wrong and his crew had to remove that and start over. He showed us all of the issues and it still scares me to think that there are contractor's out there doing that type of shotty work. There was no insulation behind the shower walls, there was a hole in the liner and a nail through the electrical line to the light switch on the other side. The tile was not installed correctly and I could go on and on! Andy took care of every aspect of the project from the lighting to the counters and cabinets, paint, trim work, fixtures, electrical and plumbing. He recommended vendors to us, we picked out the finishes and he took care of the rest. His crew was excellent to work with! They were very professional and respectful of us. We were so pleased with the work being done that we signed on with him to do our wood floors as well. That was a big project since every piece of furniture and appliance had to be moved, old wood floors and ceramic tiles had to be removed. The floors turned out beautifully! It took several weeks which we expected and they worked every day and long hours to get finished. He has an excellent painter and carpenter that work for him as well. Once the floors were done, we really realized that we needed a paint job and Andy took care of that as well! It is so much easier to have one contractor take care of all of the work. He has good people working for him and he made all of the arrangements. Andy is a true professional in every sense of the word. He truly cared about making the process easy for us and restored my faith in contractors again. There really are honest contractors who take pride in their work will not leave the job until you are 100% happy! Andy Gullion fits that bill and I HIGHLY recommend him for any remodeling work that you need to have done.

IBased upon the ratings here, we contacted Mr. Gullion (Andy) in March for a proposal and bid to install a mosaic glass tile back splash in the kitchen and to replace and/or install a new tile floor in a small bathroom. The initial appointment for the bid was informative but not very specific. Andy left with the promise to e-mail a detailed proposal, which we never received. We contacted him again in late June and he came back out to the house for another appointment. This time he gave us a detailed written proposal which we accepted. We decided to demo the bathroom floor ourselves, and we purchased our own tile, grout and sealer, at his direction, and he would install it. We were not informed that he would not be doing the installation himself. Even though we questioned his instruction to purchase sanded grout for the glass tile backsplash, we accepted his expertise as sufficient to follow his advise. On the agreed upon date and time, Andy arrived at the house with another installer. The associate was the one who did the work. The glass tile was put up and grouted. The floor tile was installed, and the installer advised that we use the dark grout that was used in the kitchen on the white tile floor in the bathroom as well. We had purchased white grout, but he was adamant that the dark gray would be best. He did so and left. Upon later inspection, it was horrible and we regretted that we hadn't stuck to our original choice. Also, the glass tile in the kitchen was scratched by the sanded grout, and there were several chipped and crooked tiles. We called Andy, he came over to look at the work, and agreed that the kitchen should have been grouted using unsanded grout and that the bathroom should have been grouted with the original choice of white grout. He brought in his crew to remove the kitchen backsplash and the gray grout in the bathroom. Additional tile and unsanded grout for the kitchen was purchased by Mr. Gullion and the work was done once again by his associate. This of course meant that the job took double the time planned. To his credit, Andy did not charge us any additional money for the removal and re-grouting of the bathroom floor and the additional bid price was eventually credited for the grout and extra tile. He was quite apologetic for the mistakes and very concerned for his reputation. We are happy with the work done in the bathroom. In addition to the floor, a wood threshold was installed to replace the broken marble piece that was there originally, and a custom plate was installed around the toilet water line. We are glad that we decided to pay to have this work done instead of doing it ourselves. We aren't so happy with the kitchen back splash. In spite of it having been sealed by the installers, the grout has discolored in the area over the cook top (probably they missed some spots when applying the sealer) and there are some crooked and chipped tiles in the installation. We hired this work done in the interest of saving time, but in retrospect, we should have done the work ourselves. If we were to hire Gullion Tile again, I would keep an eagle eye on any installation work and call out any mistake or concern immediately. This was the only contractor who would return our calls or show up for an appointment, so we don't have anything to compare the experience with. Andy seems to be a very honest and sincere man who cares very much about the approval of his clients. I feel comfortable recommending him, but with the previously stated oversight.

Spoke with several different local contractors before selecting Andy.Upon initial call, Andy was responsive, professional and explained his services in depth. His initial contact differentiated him from all other contractors in the way he represented himself, thoroughly explained his shower design and ability to come up with some creative ideas.His price was not the cheapest, but the overall quality was high.He was flexible, worked around our schedule and his team was always open to the new and changing ideas/direction of the project.The final product turned out great. Our only comment for improvement was this... The fellow he selected to do our work was great, but didn't see too much of Andy after initial contact and job set up. I think he was very busy with other jobs and maybe got stretched thin a bit. Overall it wasn't a big issue though.

I honestly felt like I was listened to in that they were very responsive and professional with questions or concerns that I had. I honestly felt like their objective was to make sure I was happy and satisfied.

From the very first phone contact I knew I could trust Andy with my projects. He was very professional & courteous from the beginning. Mr Gullion orchestrated every move of my project from start to finish. The demolition team showed up at the designated time. They put protective covering on the carpet & floors before they started & cleaned up at the end of the every work day. Very impressed with how the tiler, plumber, painter all cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day.Quality work from all of the team members. The tile shower, tub & floors turned out especially nice, very impressive with decorative design on the back wall of shower, double shelf in shower & (as a bonus) a corner area for shaving legs, so awesome! SAM is AMAZING. I did not have any storage units in either bathroom. Andy built over the toilet cabinets & a built in cabinet for storage by the shower. We were able to save cabinet bases & he made new doors to match the new cabinets. All the woodwork is fabulous. Painter was fast & did a great job. Plumber & Electrician were knowlegable, I even got rope lighting with crown molding above tub & bath areas, very relaxing. Andy communicated with me daily to inform me who would be showing up & when to expect them and everyone showed up as scheduled. Overall I am very pleased witht he finished project. I wish I could submit pictures to share how beautiful my projects turned out. CONSIDER ME A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

They work was wonderful. They were fairly expensive.

Excellent job! Andy and his crew were gentlemen in every respect. Through caution and care they preserved the condition of the rooms they had to pass through. Integrity is doing ‘what you say you will do when you say you will do it’ and Andy Gullion conforms to that definition.

Mr. Gullion arrived on time, finished quickly, and was less expensive than I expected.

They do any kind of remodeling. We liked them very much. They were very thorough. They did pretty much what they said they were going to do. All the people who worked for them were very professional. They showed up pretty much when they said they were going to. However, you can expect a little slack in those things. If they said they were going to show up on a particular day, they pretty much did. The results were very good. Another thing I liked was that they kept the rest of the house clean. When they were finished with the job for the day, they didn’t go off and leave a big mess. I don’t remember the price charged by them. We thought we got pretty good value for what we paid.

They did an outstanding job. Andy, the owner is very easy to work with. They do what they say they will do and they do it very, very well. They did an exceptional job on the bathroom. We would absolutely use them again.

It went well and pretty much as planned, although the structural damage was greater than anticipated. The Guillion Tile people were professional and courteous. Specifically Jackie, Jonah and Jeremiah, who did their best to be non-intrusive, and to minimize dust/dirt. NOTE: There was a great deal of dust/dirt that had to be carried through the house; however the crew used carpet protection and floor pads to minimize this. Expect to have any carpets cleaned afterwards! Tile installer, Matt, did a good job also, as did the carpet re-installer, whose name I have forgotten. Andy (Gullion) worked with me and tile supplier to resolve a tile shortage issue, at no added cost to me. Both the time frame (10-12 working days) and estimated cost were ($4650) met, and I am well satisfied with the result. I had used Gullion Tile previously, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. NOTE: One option I had was to use a general contractor for demolition and rebuild, with a separate tile contractor for the tile work. I personally believe my experience would say that the degree of interdependence of work made my use of Gullion tile for everything except the plumbing work - which they coordinated - was a better solution.

Gullion did an excellent job and I am very happy with the results. From the prepartion, tile work, fixture installation, and painting, all phases were always done on schedule and the workers were very pleasant and skilled in their work. Not only was the work very professionally done but Andy assisted in making tile and fixture selections that I am very pleased with. The bathroom was a total transformation and turned out much better than I had imagined. I would recommend this company to anyone that is considering having tile or any rennovation type work done.
