The Aardwolf is a member of the Hyena family and lives in the plains and open woodland of eastern and southern Africa. It weights between fifteen and thirty-one pounds and feeds primarily on termites, which it hunts at night. The aardwolf's keen hearing helps it locate termites, and its long, sticky tongue licks them right up.
