Description of Work: I have had termite coverage with Terminix since 2009 on my current house. The rates generally went up $12 to $14 a year. I just received the renewal for 2019, and the cost has increased 30%. I had to go online and do a live chat with someone with Terminix to find out that weather conditions in this area are conducive to termite activity. Well it didn't just suddenly start raining a lot in Mobile. What makes me angry is that there was no communication from Terminix regarding this rate increase. That is not a professional way to handle something like this.

Description of Work: We use Terminix for pest control. They were just here Monday. We have a quarterly contract with them. They also take care of the termites. We have pets, and in the summer time they put out the granules for the fleas and ticks. They spray the front and back porch and inside the house, for spiders. They put mouse motels outside so we never have mice. I am terrified of mice!

+ -1 moreThey come four times a year, and they let me know ahead of time when they are coming. They work on the outside so it does not matter if I am home. They ring the doorbell to let you know they are at your home. If you have a problem, you can call them up, and they will come out.

+ -1 moreWe like the guy when he comes. The quality of work is pretty good, and we have no termites. They come on time, and they give you one of those from 8 until 10:30 kind of time thing. They have never been late from their window. We would continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: We used Terminix for bugs about a year ago, but they only do termite control for us. We don’t really have that many bugs. They come out once a year and they are coming in a month or so for that. My wife did a termite bond with them 10 years ago.

+ -1 moreI spend about $75 to $80 a quarter. I have been using them for probably 10 years. I was having a problem with tree roaches because I have a lot of oaks around here. I initially had a deal with someone else but it was getting to be a little expensive, so I shopped around and went with them. They give me an e-mail notification about when they are coming and ask if I want them to come inside the house or just do an outside service. Since I have not had any problems, I prefer that they just go ahead and do the outside and take care of the ant beds. One year I had a problem with yellow jackets and they came and took care of that. I just like them and think that they are very good and it is worth the money to me.
Description of Work: I use Terminix International for pest control and they come in quarterly and take care of my stuff. The last time they were out was about 3 months ago because they are coming back on the 9th of January.

+ -1 moreWhen it came time for their first visit, we made an appointment for a Monday morning. On Tuesday I called to ask why no one had shown up. There was no explanation, just a suggested new appointment time on Thursday. Two hours after the time slot on Thursday I called to ask why no one had shown up. Again. The explanation this time was "He'll probably be there in an hour or so." Two and a half hours later a bored young man showed up at the door. He made a perfunctory examination of the property and then, as agreed upon when I made the appointment, replaced the termite traps that had been removed in the course of adding a new living space. He installed one so badly that it got broken off the next time the lawn was mowed. In speaking with our new pest control company, a locally owned company who came highly recommended and whose prices are much lower for more services, I was told that they're getting a lot of new customers from Terminix these days. I believe it.
Description of Work: We picked up the pro-rated portion of a Terminix contract from the previous owner at the closing for our house in Pensacola for termite protection.

+ -1 moreI sprayed & got rid of the baby roaches on my own . They called to set up their next appointment and I told them I never wanted them to come to my house ever again.
Description of Work: I can't remember exactly how recent it has been or how much I paid. I had signed up for a contract but canceled. I had used them before many years ago and should have learned my lesson then. The reason I called them was to check for termites. The inspection person came in, asked lots of questions about anything else I may be having problems with. I told him I did have lots of spiders. I had spider webs in corners of some of my rooms and all my windows, that I had not cleaned down yet. He stated that the exterminator would take care of all that, pointing to the webs in the corners. He also said, after just looking at some wood around the bottom of my back door facing, and the eaves at the back of my house. I have NEVER had problems with baby roaches in my home, except a week or so AFTER the exterminator left. That happened this time and the time they came years ago. Of course, I can't prove anything because I was asked to be outside the home for a few hours, along with my pets. I have been in the same home for over 20 years. I have heard of exterminating companies, planting 'bug eggs' in the home. I did not see them do it. All I know is I've never had the problem but twice and that was after they left the two times I've let them in. So, you be the judge.

+ -1 moreWe called several termite and pest control companies that service our area. Of the four called, two called back in a timely fashion - within 2-4 days. Both of the ones that called came to do a site visit and submit estimates. One was $2700 more than the other for the termite control/insurance bond but it included free quarterly pest control. The one we chose, Terminix was less initial cost but we pay $75 a quarter for pest control. It was the best choice for us. They came when they said they would come, did the work they said they would do, and cleaned up after the work was done.
Description of Work: Terminix provided termite control and bond, along with quarterly pest control. Price was substantially less than their competitor and it was definitely comparable in scope. They came when they said they would come and cleaned up the workspace to my satisfaction.

+ -1 moreI really do not use them to much, just every once in a while. They do an okay job. Basically, I just take the paper and it says that I don t have any termites. The guy is really nice to me. He kind of just smiles at me. I pay them yearly for this service and I do not recall how much it is. I really like their turnover program. Also, if termites would happen to come, they would pay for 80 percent of the damages.

Description of Work: Terminix was contracted to spray the outside area of my home. They were instructed to call prior to coming as I have a 185 lb dog in the back yard and we would need to put him in the house. They said that this would not be a problem. However, during the time they had this contract they NEVER called, NOT ONCE. When called each time they sprayed they said they would make a note and that they would make sure to call prior to coming out the next time. Today they are pursuing legal action for $76 that I refuse to pay after the last time they sprayed. Frankly, I had, had enough.
