Description of Work: Hansen Heating & Cooling replaced a 1 ton, 13 SEER central ac unit (interior evaporator coils + outdoor compressor) as well as the gas furnace. We were very pleased with their work. They were very professional. Replacing a complete central AC system in an attic in 95 degree heat is a demanding job! The owner evaluated the job and priced out the work in advance. He was very knowledgeable. Based on comparisons with other vendors, their prices were competitive. They also provide a longer warranty on parts and labor than their competitors (10 yrs). We were very pleased and would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Provides 2x/year service on our furnace and air conditioner as well as emergency calls for the above price. Hansen replaced another service provider that we used for 14 years that over-charged and was not honest. Hansen's service men are smart, fast, and always have told us the truth. We have used Jay and Chad and they have always been thorough and straight up with us. Finding a service provider like this is a real pleasure and you have to kiss a few frogs before you do. These folks have saved us some money and we recommend them without reservation.

Description of Work: On the evening prior to the day services were performed my wife and I arrived home to a home without functional AC. The following morning I called Hansen at 0700 to request service on our AC. The associate indicated they would try to have someone out by 0900. I received a call from my wife at 0830 indicating the technician had arrived. I spoke with him briefly describing the problem. Within fifteen minutes I had a return call, the technician indicated the capacitor had failed on my unit and would require replacement. The technician explained they would waive the ordinary diagnostic fee because we were an Angie's list customer, the part was billed at $45.00 and the labor of 1 hour at $95.00. The AC was restored to an operational state before 0930.

Description of Work: I'm so glad I joined Angie's List. First it's very reasonable, and second they had a coupon to use for Hansen Heating & Cooling, so the $25 diagnostic fee was covered by the coupon. We moved into this house a few weeks ago and it has always been hot, even though the AC runs almost all day long. Another AC guy came out and looked at it and said it just needed the air filter changed. But the very next day it is still hot! I called Hansen this morning around 8:15am. Janice, who I spoke to was very nice and helped me to get a service appointment set up for the same day, which was awesome. The service technician, Neal called when he was on his way, just as they said he would (no surprises) and showed up shortly after noon. He was very professional and friendly. He looked over my unit, inside and outside, did some tests and found that the unit was leaking freon (NOT an air filter change!). He was very polite and gave me an estimate fo replace the coil on the inside unit where it is leaking and also an estimate to replace the entire unit. I was very pleased with the service, promptness and professionalism that all the Hansen people showed. I will definitely use them in the future. I chose them mostly because of all the good reviews they had on Angie's List and I am happy to add my A+ report to the others. *****UPDATE***** 8/20/11 Hansens still gets credit for being polite and responding quickly, but the service technician that came out said that freon was leaking and that I needed a new coil that would cost $1700. I had 2 other companies come out to double check it before investing that kind of money including the company that originally put the AC unit in in 1999 when the house was built and BOTH of them (without knowing someone else had come to check the unit) said the freon was fine, NO leaks (one even showed me the leak detector and how it works) and both also said the coil was fine and did not need to be replaced. So it's hard to tell if the guy was just no good at his job or if he was trying to take advantage of a woman who doesn't know about air conditioning. Either way I have to give Hansens a much lower mark. In addition to the quote of $1700 to replace the coil, he said I might even want to replace the whole unit which would run over $4000. Sad to say - now that I've had 2 other estimates, I am VERY disappointed in Hansens (at least the tech they sent out).

Description of Work: Technician added freon to unit. Upstairs air conditioning was not cooling. Technician was friendly and punctual but seemed to be in a hurry. The whole visit felt very rushed. He noticed that the unit was out of freon, added freon and left. The entire service call lasted about 15 minutes, and I was charged $215.00. The technician said that there could be a leak somewhere and told me to call in a couple of weeks if the AC stopped working again.

Description of Work: One our our heat strip it was stuck and would not cut off. he found the problem but he did not have a 4 stack so he use to two stacks and it now works great, he also said he was a vet, and he take care of his Vet, thank us for our service and we thank him for his. It was very good visit.
