Hansen Heating and Cooling

Exceptional service. Called at 8:00 AM, was here before 9:00 and finished by 9:05. He said he cleaned contacts on the compressor and did not charge me anything. Doesn't get better than that!

We've used a local heating and air conditioning service company for over 20 years, so when the central air "died" at our second residence, where my son lives, we immediately called them. I had recently opened an account with Angie's list and used the website to find a good plumber and tree cutting service, both of which we were very happy with. But I felt no need to look for someone to service air conditioning because we had been so happy with the above mentioned company. They came out after a couple of [very hot] days and put freon in the old system which had it cooling again. It lasted 3 days. I knew the unit was ancient and had been expecting a complete breakdown, so I wasn't surprised that it died. Our service company came out again, (after another couple of [hot] days), and gave us an estimate to replace the old unit. The cost - quite frankly - floored me. We couldn't afford it. We would have have to finance the cost. I was very disappointed, but because they had always done such good work and been honest with us, I was sure that what they quoted me was the going rate for what we needed. Later, while worrying about the financing, I had doubts. And then I remembered Angie's list. I was curious to see who local folks were recommending for air conditioning repair and what those companies were charging. Hansen's was listed first, with a wonderful list of reviews. And I was amazed at what they were charging for replacing central air units in houses of similar sizes to ours. I hated being disloyal to our old company but we honestly couldn't afford to pay what they were going to charge us. I called Hansen's and Chad came out the very next day. He was actually early to our appointment and beat me to the house! He was professional and thorough, spending a lot of time trying to start the old unit even though I was quite certain it was dead. When he gave us an estimate on a new system I was thrilled! Hansen's was going to be able to set us up completely for $1500.00 LESS then the other service company and we had enough in savings to cover it. Chad set up a service date for next Monday, which was their earliest opening, but said there was a chance they could get part of the work done on Saturday, (June 15). It turned out that they were able to get it ALL done on Saturday. They arrived right on time. They were efficient and professional. They were polite, respectful, and friendly. They even spoke to our 3 dogs, who took to them immediately. Less then 3 hours after Hansen's arrival, the vents were blowing cold air! I can honestly say I have never been as pleased with service from anyone as I am with Hansen Heating and Cooling. I not only recommend them here, I will be recommending them to everyone I know.

I am so pleased with the service I received from Hansens Air. I have been in need of a unit for about 3 years now and have been so nervous and unsure about making such a large purchase. I feel like I hit the lottery by choosing Hansens. Mr. Hansen and his assistant were so professional and nice. They were finished in under 4 hours and left my house and yard spotless. I will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone in need of AC work of any kind.

Price of service call was 95 dollars, Service experts charged 85 May last year and the service tech pants kept falling down, needs to we're a belt.

Very Prompt, called around 8am, explained problem. Technician showed up around 9:15, diagnosed and fixed problem within 30 minutes. Very nice, very professional. Would use again in future. A+++

Called on a Friday and discussed what I needed, I knew the indoor coil was leaking. He quoted me a price on the phone to replace the system, gave me an install date and time. They were there on time and got busy. They were finished within three hours. Super clean job, made all of the hookups real nice.

They were very prompt with getting someone out on the day I called. The technician was professional in his manner and knowledge of the system. The "free" service call just means they will drop by and say hello. There is a charge for everything else and that seemed a little high to me, but I didn't want to be without air while I price shopped. I clicked "yes" to the question about using them again, because there was no "not sure" button. I would definitely get other quotes first.

My husband and I are new to Alabama and I am not accustome to the heat and it was hot this week. I could not get the air conditioner to cool the house. I called Hanson this morning and they sent someone out this afternoon. The service tech. arrived on time and went out and checked the unit. Previous owners must have turned the breaker off. I had no idea. The tech. did not charge me for the visit and I leave outside of town. I am going to book a maintenance appointment at the end of May. I am very happy with this company.

The staff were friendly and helpful on the phone. The technician called shortly before the appointment time to make sure I was here, and then came early when I said I was ready to go. He was knowledgeable and professional. He took his time and was thorough. I will call them again for this work and am going to contact them about duct cleaning next.

I found this company on Angie's List and decided to contact them because of all the wonderful reviews. I was not disappointed. The priced quoted for replacing my heat pump heating and cooling system was very reasonable. On the day scheduled to install they were here on time and amazingly completed the installation in under 2 hours. They were very courteous and professional. I am very pleased and will highly recommend them to anyone. Great job done!

I have used Hansen in the past for maintenance on a VERY old system and they were always helpful and prompt. I finally decided it was time to replace the old system. They gave me a fantastic price and I was suprised how fast they were. The had the new system installed and checked out in under 3 hours. He even vacuumed my stairs for me. I will use them again for all my AC needs and I highly recomend them to anyone needing service.

Arrived within an hour of calling. Extremely nice, professional gentleman, in a clearly marked, well equiped van, displaying the BBB sign. He worked quickly in a difficult job, treated my cats with care, and extremely clean. Explained in detail what the problem was, why it had happened, showed us the broken parts. Gave us the option of cleaning the coils ourselves, even told us what cleaner to use and explained in detail what to do and showed my husband how to do it. We opted to have him do it, and he did, quickly and efficiently. When he left, there was no trace of any work having been done, he was that clean. Explained the bill, itemized everything, and told us to call at any time. He stayed long enough to make sure all components and unit were cooling properly. An excellent, professional job. I will be recommending this company to anyone wwho needs this type of work done.

1. Using Angie's List, my wife narrowed the search for a quality heating and A/C repair service to Hansen Heating and cooling. 2. We called and arranged for service by a repairman. We were told a time fram between 3 & 5 p.m. CST. 3. The repairman called at a few minutes after 2 p.m. to announce that he was on the way. He arrived between 3:30 & 3:45 p.m. 4. After showing him the circuit breaker boxes and I led him to the location of our thermostat inside our home. 5. After checking the partially-installed thermostat, he went into the attic to check on the unit there. 6. He discovered that circuit had tripped, and once he reset it, the unit came on. 7. He returned to the thermostat and finished installing and setting it to the temperature we requested. 8. Upon completion of his service, he provided us with a bill for $95, which we paid by credit card. 9. Once the billing was complete, the repairman departed. 10. We will definitely be calling Hansen Heating and Cooling to perform their 21-point service and inspection by the end of March 2013.

Excellent results. I feel that I received excellent value for the money spent.

They were courteous, thorough, and gave me options. They were wonderful and I fully intend to use them.

They arrived at 8am and immediatly went to work. They performed all the proposed work in a professional manner. Charged exactly what the estimate stated and cleaned up everything upon completion of the job

Overall, I cannot complain. I am very satisfied.

I've used them exclusively, but this time when I scheduled the appointment, the office first asked if it would be alright to reschedule, they didn't have enough technicians for that day, I agreed. However, when the appointment's day came, and still no technician I had to call the office to remind them. A technician arrived late in the afternoon, performed the required inspections, and then invoiced me for the visit. Usually it's $40.00 each visit, but the tech said they raised the price to $80.00. I paid for the work, and thanked the technician for working later to complete our order. Later the office called and said that the technician had made an error on the invoice and it was supposed to be $40.00. She said they would credit my account, and our Spring inspection would be paid for. I am still happy with the service.

It went very well. The technician was prompt and efficient. He called before they showed up to make sure I knew he was coming. He came out twice, once to determine the problem and order the part, once to complete the job. I am happy with the service that was performed.

I have an air conditioner/ furnace "builders model" that I continually have problems with every year. Last winter in the middle of the night the furnace would run but no heat would come out. I called Hansen's in the morning and they arrived that morning and technician called to let me know he was on his way. The problem was diagnosed quickly, an electronic board, and I was told the price upfront and the part was replaced and all was done in less than 30 minutes. I have used Hansen's in the past and every time it has gone good with no problems. I started using them a few summer's ago when my ac died and my previous company told me that the engine was out and all had to be replaced for $4500. I called after checking Angie's list to get a second estimate and they repaired a bad wire for $95. Other than freon every year and a fan motor it works good.

OK - it took 2 trips. first trip they added freon to solve problem which did not work. ended up changing unit. (old over 15 years) and that solved problem. they removed first trip charge which I was happy about.

Serviceman came on time, stayed an hour, gave me an invoice when he was finished and I gave him a check. No problems.

Began with a call to them around 7:45 AM. Received return call giving an estimated time of arrival of 11:00 Am Technician phoned around 10:15 and promised to be there within 45 minutes. Technician arrived about 0 minutes early and quickyl diagnosed and repaired the problem. Entire time was under 40 minutes. Used an Angie's List coupon to cover the cost of the diagnostics ($25.00) so the only cost was for the service and refrigerant. Overall, this was one of the more pleasant experiences I have had with service contractors. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again myself.

My a/c stopped cooling in the middle of the night. I went to Angie's List to choose the company to call. Ultimately, the compressor had gone bad, but the repair was fast and affordable. Excellent experience and my house is no longer 85 degrees.
