Bill was very friendly and professional-- he definitely lives up to his reputation. The staff at the Insight office were all really great, as well. We walked through the house with him as he checked everything and explained every repair in detail. He also checked anything we had concerns about, and gave us advice on things we asked about. He was thorough, but still got everything done in a timely manner. We had a great experience during our first home inspection with him. The price was also very affordable, in my opinion. Highly recommend!!

This company is great to work with. They actually had to come out three times (first time the builder changed their mind and said I had to cancel the inspection 30 minutes before it was supposed to start; second time no one was there to unlock the home) and fit me into a slot due to a cancellation instead of me having to wait an entire week. Everything was checked and they answered every question I asked as well as explaining how various systems worked. I'm a first time home owner and had no idea what to expect. The inspection went great; the service was fantastic. I plan to have them come out again one more time before my 1 year new-home warranty offered by the builder expires.

We had a home inspection on an older home done. It was very thorough. He took lots of photos and walked us through any issues that were found. Gave good advice on where to buy simple safety equipment such as good fire detectors, and even explained what the different sorts do. He also gave recommendations on specialists to fix items out of our ability (as well as warned off some outfits that overcharge their customers). The price may seem a little steep, but part of this house was build in 1910. He inspected the house, a pool and 2 outbuildings, as well as performing a radon test, so I think it was a fair price. I will recommend this contractor to my friends.

What stood out about him was his knowledge. I couldn't have found a better home inspector. The only thing that he missed was that in the side of the house there was some dry rot all along the roof line where the shingles meet the second story. For the most part he did save us over $40,000. The first time I used him, he saved me $175,000 on a different home. He is impeccable.

Excellent. He showed me each item he inspected and explained why it was or wasn't a problem. Very professional. Very polite. Received the final report that same night.

The inspection took about 2 hour for a 1600 sq ft, one story house. Bill showed up early and was already making notes by the time I arrived at the house. Bill took about 15 minutes to go over a section of the house, making notes on his own, then discussing his findings with my wife and I before moving on to the next section. I found it a very efficient way to conduct the inspection while talking us through the results on the spot.

Insight conducted a home inspection for me on a 1930's"mill house" in the 5 Points area of Huntsville. They encouraged me to be present for the inspection so they could discuss the process in person, and show me in person any areas of concern. The report they prepared was very detailed, with plenty of photographs to illustrate problem areas. The inspection was very thorough, including the crawl space, roof and attic. I was lucky, and only two small issues were uncovered requiring attention, both safety related, including a potential fire risk involving a flexible clothes dryer pipe used under the house where code requires a rigid steel pipe. I was very happy with the service, and would heartily recommend Insight to anyone.

It was easy from start to finish. Called and made an appointment and then conducted the inspection. This wasn't a casual drive by inspection, Bill knows his job.

Bill was at the house before I arrived. He went through the house very thoroughly and walked me through everything he was doing and looking at. He would stop and explain any questions I might have. His final report is very thorough and provides details of anything he finds.

When I arrived at the property, Bill Loden of Insight Home Inspections had already arrived (I was 15 minutes early). He had already begun the inspection of the exterior of the home. During the entire inspection I felt I was treated with respect and Bill was very professional throughout the entire inspection. This was an education for me. At every step Bill explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and took time to answer my questions and explain in detail and in language I could understand. Bill came completely prepared to inspect the entire home, including furnishing his own ladder. When he moved to potentially messy areas he put on different shoes so as to not track dirt and debris into the house. We walked around the exterior of the home while he explained to me the things he found there. The inspection moved to the interior of the house. Bill moved methodically from room to room, checking each outlet (for grounding and polarity) and all GFCI outlets for proper functionality. After the room to room sweeps he then went into the crawl spaces (found issues with the way the fireplace flue had been constructed. All toilets and sinks were tested for functionality and to see if they were securely fastened to the wall/floor. Bill also pulled the covers off both breaker boxes to see if they were wired correctly and to code standards (one was not). He tested the functionality of the both air conditioning units. In short, Bill went over the house with a fine tooth comb and as a result I was able to make a much more informed buying decision. He provided me with the timely information I needed. A few hours after the inspection was complete I received a 31 page report (in PDF format) via email that detailed every issue discovered, suggested courses of action, and recommendations. This report included many pictures and the thermal scans of the various rooms. I would recommend Bill Loden and Insight Home Inspection, LLC to any potential home buyer and to every seller - NO ONE likes surprises once you make a deal on a house or property. I have heard horror stories on how some home inspectors are a complete waste of money. This is certainly not the case with Mr. Loden. Mr. Loden was exceptionally thorough during the inspection. When I arrived at the house he had already started the inspection. He walked us through every little thing he found and explained how things should or should not work. I am a pretty young, so there are a lot of things that I don't know. The builder's PM and realtor were at the house when Mr. Loden started the inspection, not to say anything bad about the builder because I think they are a great/respectable group, but Mr. Loden respectfully ask them to give him space in order for him to complete the inspection (I'm paraphrasing). They totally understood. During the inspection Mr. Loden found things that would go completely unnoticed to any amateur. Bottom Line: I would recommend Mr. Loden to my great-grandmother because I know he will do a honest thorough job. He is worth EVERY PENNY!! P.S. After the inspection he informed me he would offer free consultation on anything I may have questions on and all I would need to do is call in the future. Talk about servicing after the service. AWESOMEEE!!!

I called the home office on Wednesday, 11/30/2011, very courteous staff. Bill's first opening was on the following Monday morning, 12/5/2011. Bill arrived on time, performed exterior inspection first, interior thermal imaging inspection second, and then completed all other internal inspections. Bill took good pictures to document all his findings. He walked over the roof, he crawled through the crawl space, and he went in the attic. He was more than patient in explaining his findings and answers to our questions during the inspection. He sent a detailed 25 page report that was tailored to our home (including lots of pictures with annotations from our home), as well as a 7 page thermal imaging report for our home (same comment about pictures/annotations) later the same day. As requested, Bill identified issues we already knew, as well as many issues we were not aware of. He did a solid job of helping us prioritize these planned fixes into safety concerns, major fixes, minor fixes, and maintenance issues. He presented options for different ways that we might tackle individual problems to help keep cost down, minimize the scope of the job, etc. He also compared/contrasted these approaches with the most desirable fix if cost & sequencing were no issue. I highly recommend Bill's service for families considering major renovations to an existing home.

My experience with Insight was very plesant. This is our first home purchase and when we first viewed the house, we noticed a crack. We really loved the house and wanted an inspection just to be sure we didn't get into a money pit. I called Insight Home Inspection after checking Angies list and the BBB. They set me an appointment for less than 48 hours later. Bill, then owner walked us throught the inspection answering questions and offereing explanations without us even asking questions. He was extremely thorough. He was very personable and seemed to be knowledgeable. The inspection took around 3 or so hours. He went on the roof, in the attic, opened all cabinets, doors, window, ect. He ran all of the water at the same time to check pressure. He turned on all appliances. Again, very thorough. He promised that he would have a written report by the next morning. We received the report that same night. The report was 19 pages. I know that sounds bad, but surprisingly it wasn't. The report was very extremely easy to follow. It started with a table of contents and every single thing was detailed in the report. Where recommendations were made, he included pictures to accompany them. Oh and he guarentees his work for the life of the ownership of the home. Told us to call anytime if we had a questions we forgot to ask. His service was invaluable and has given us really good leverage for negotiations. Very pleased with this service.

Insight was very professional and knowledgeable about the services performed. Bill gave good advice on how to repair problems and how to prevent future problems. He arrived on time and stayed for approximately 3 hours. He turned around the report promptly and it was very detailed. I would definitely use this company in the future.

The office very quickly responded to a message I left on Friday afternoon at about 4 pm or so. I was verbally quoted the pricing and given some references after an email inquiry. Called back to confirm them as my choice and scheduled the appointment for the following week. Bill arrived a bit before I did and proceeded to start the inspection on the outside of the house rather than sit idle and wait on me. His knowledge and experience came through both on the phone and in person, not to mention the report. He was thorough and took the time to answer my questions in an unhurried manner. Bill shared safety related observations he found in addition to the normal fit/function problems. This concern for health and well being was beyond my expectation of the work required. Professionalism and integrity are certainly evident. He was called back to do a lender required follow-up inspection of items we had asked to be repaired. He worked an appointment in to fit our short closing time schedule. I would recommend Bill Loden to everyone.

I could not be more pleased. The IR scan turned up some insulation problems which were easy fixes (and likely the result of poor construction. The RADON test set my mind at ease given the prevalence of RADON in the area. Everything was inspected thoroughly, they even were careful not to track any mud/dirt inside.

Bill performed an inspection on a home we are buying. We are first time home buyers so this was new to us. After showing up on time, Bill took us step by step and showed us what he was looking for, what any concerns might be, and as first time homeowners, how to take care of our home. We had many questions and he was happy to answer them. He really put us at ease through the entire process. Bill has a policy that any home inspection customers can call him any time after the inspection with questions about that home and he'll only charge if he has to make a house call.
