I did research to find the most qualified inspector in the area and between his certifications, Angies' List, I chose Bill. When I called his assistant told me he was available the next morning! Scheduled the home inspection for 8:30 AM but since there were early storms rolling in he had completed the inspection before I arrived. He is extremely thorough and professional, and is a former president of the National Society of Home Inspectors. His inspection was detailed, with many pictures, and found issues that saved me from thousands of dollars in repairs. Bill noticed a structural issue with the house which the seller disputed. I had to hire a structural engineer to resolve the issue and he agreed with Bill. A load bearing beam had been removed from the house and it was structurally unsafe and I have no idea how much it would have cost me to have it resolved and then repainted to be ready to sell. Ultimately, the deal on the house did not go through due to damage that occurred after the contract was signed and I hired Bill again when my wife and I chose a new home. He is worth every penny and realtors rarely recommend him to clients because he is so thorough.

Very professional inspection. We've used Insight on a previous home we purchased and our daughter and son in law have used them for 2 homes. We think he is the very best. A little expensive but thorough and knowledgeable. Our price included radon testing.

Bill was very easy to schedule he was early to our appointment I arrived at the property 15 minutes ahead of when we had scheduled and when I arrived Bill was already working he stopped and ran me back through what he had found and answered all questions I had he was extremely professional and not only did he not mind my presence while he was was working but kept me in the loop on what he was looking at and explained in detail what was wrong and how it could be remedied and what it should look or act like depending on what we were looking at he answered every question I had professionally and even showed me and informed me of features on the home that were correct and though old did not need upgrades to them for energy efficiency definelty exceeded all expectations and the inspection was completed in a timely manner and that evening I had my complete detailed report I will definitely hire again for every home inspection I have

Bill's wife answered the phone every time we called and was extremely helpful and sweet! I even called a few days before with a bunch of Radon questions for Bill, but she answered them all! Bill arrived early and invited us along to watch and made himself available to answer any of our questions and concerns along the way. He explained each deficiency he observed with plenty of detail, but not too much to overwhelm a non-experienced homeowner like myself. He was very respectful and knowledgeable. He provided the report same-day. The report seems to be accurate and thorough, but concise. We are very pleased, and now prepared to present the seller with a stellar report outlining needed repairs we were previously unaware of. Thanks Bill!

We are contacting the installer to see if he can come back and reinstall the roof for us under warranty.

Great. I walked around the home with the inspector. He pointed out what he was looking for and results of the inspection. Very thorough. I highly approve.

Bill did an excellent job. He had arrived 30 minutes earlier than our scheduled visit and when we arrived, he walked us through the items he had already examined (using pictures and pointing out items). He and his colleague did a thorough inspection of the house over the course of approximately 2 hours, explaining items and recommendations to us consistently. He used his thermal camera and moisture reader to obtain a thorough analysis. When he sent us the report, it was well document, included photos, and extremely comprehensive. Bill was friendly, approachable, and professional. I highly recommend him in the future.

On the day of the inspection, Bill and his assistant arrived earlier than our agreed time of 8:30 am. It has been raining for several days prior to our inspection. There was no rain but overcast during the day of our inspection. We met in the driveway and made some small talks. Bill was very professional and started the inspection before we have arrived. After the talk, he started walking through the process with us and allowed us to follow him and would discuss with us the issues that he has identified. We started from the outside of the house before going in to check other areas of the house. Because of some shingles fell off from the roof, there was water damage to the ceiling of the dinning room. He has inspected the areas and even used his thermal imaging camera (free of charge) to show us where the water was. He also used it throughout the rest of the house showing us that there was no water damage elsewhere. It has taken him and his assistant over 2.5 - 3 hours for the inspection. He showed his professionalism during the whole process and would explain to us what to expect and what to look out for. For areas outside of training, he recommended other people for us. He sent us the inspection report at the end of the day as promised though it was caught in my spam folder. The report looks good but it shows some standard formatting for reports that he has produced. The report format could be improved and some misspelling words should have been corrected. Other than these minor errors, I would use him again.

We have been noticing structural damages in and around our home and it only continues to worsen everyday. My spouse and I wanted to know the gravity of the issue and decided to bring in a Home Inspector. Based on Angie's list reviews we contacted Insight Home Inspection and we are very glad we did. Scheduling our appointment was very easy, they even answered several questions I had about the agreement. Our scheduled appointment was at 1 pm and Bill was very prompt. We briefed him about the issues we had with the structure and he informed us that home inspection was not the right approach here; he even provided contact information for a Structural Engineer. He did not charge us for his time or his professional advice. I am glad we spoke to Bill and we will certainly be using his services in the future.

Bill Loden spent about 3 hours going over every inch of the house. I shadowed him for the first 2 hours and learned about the home's systems including the roof, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and appliances. The price was competative and included a $30 discount for being an Angie's List member.

Professional and punctual. In depth report done. Happy with the service provided.

They did a great job. He did it in a really educational manner. I highly recommend him. He's just really good.

It was outstanding! I did not expect Mr. Loden to spend much time discussing his findings with us, but he certainly took the time to seek us out and share with us as he inspected every inch of the home and property. Both the garage and shed were inspected. Had we not decided to get our own inspector, bad things may have happened. Now we know exactly who to contact should we need an inspection. I recommend Mr. Loden above all others! Not only is Mr. Loden professional, his staff is fantastic! With one phone call, you are greeted with courtesy and professionalism! Fantastic work indeed.

My experience was that they were very thorough, very straight forward. The follow up announcements via e-mail concerning things to look for, I never met the person, the inspection was done when I was out of town but all the communications with them were very professional and I would recommend those guys to anyone.

Mr. Loden is extremely professional and very pleasant and patient to explain anything you may have questions on or concerns about. He did a very thorough inspection and every time he found something worth noting he stopped and brought me to the location in the house to show me what he had found and his recommendation, which is also in the final report that he sent very quickly via email. He also sends a monthly home tips email that has come in very useful. With a very busy schedule the reminders of small quick maintenance tips definitely help prevent larger problems down the road.

Bill was punctual as usual and as pleasant as he always is. It was nice to see him again. He went around the house and verified that every thing was done to everyone's satisfaction, which it was. We highly recommend Bill to everyone. In fact when we were at our closing for the new house, I mentioned that Bill, the man that did our inspection was a really great, well informed guy with all the latest technology and the gentleman representing the sellers said, "Oh, is that Bill Loden?". We said it was and the sellers realtor, who is very well known and very successful in town, spoke very highly of Bill Loden and what a great guy he is to work with and that he really knows his business. That's quite a compliment and well deserved.

Mr. Loden was courteous, professional, and punctual. He arrived at our appointment early and had performed the inspection of the roof and started the attic. Upon my arrival, he briefed me on what had been done and how the rest of the inspection will go. Anytime an issue was identified, he showed me and explained the significance. The inspection went very well and I will recommend Mr. Loden to anyone needing a home inspection. Additionally, he provided us an owner's manual for our new home.

Bill arrived early and got to work right away. He inspected the entire house one part at a time, took photos of problem areas, then walked us through the area he just inspected and showed us problems and suggested how to fix them. After the inspection was done he e-mailed a complete report with photos and lots of details. He even gave us a book about how to fix minor issues and upkeep our home!

Bill arrived on time and even a little early the first time he worked or us. He is a very nice, professional gentleman. He did a very through inspection both times for us. He inspected the attic and worked his way to the ground, inside and out. He tests everything including appliances and electrical systems and takes lots of pictures to support his findings. We had him do the home inspection as well as a thermal scan of the entire house. This will be the second home we've owned and Bill was a wealth of information on what we would need to do and what not do to keep the home well maintained and looking good. He also made recommendations as to when we should do routine maintenance and what to expect from different systems in the house. Since we moved from Colorado, Alabama was a whole new set of rules for home ownership and Bill really helped us to understand what we needed to in our new environment to get the most out of our new home. After Bill did the inspection he emailed us and our Realtor a copy of his report the same day as the inspection. Again, the report was very in depth with pictures and recommendations. He also gave us a copy of a great book on home maintenance since we found him on Angie's List. We are so glad that we hired him the first time since we would have wound up with a very expensive problem on our hands if not for Bill. There was another inspection done on the first house and that inspector did not find the problem with the roof tiles. Bill really saved us on the first house, which is why we hired him for the second house inspection. We would only hire Bill if we ever move again. He really knows his stuff and has a lot of experience.

The inspection was very through, we had the thermal scan and radon test performed along with the inspection. Problems found ranged from GFCI circuits, and garage door electronic eyes not working to mold and fungus in the crawl space, under the house. I was unable to be present during the inspection, but the final report (very professional done) provided enough detail for me to make recommendations to the owners on things that had to be fixed prior to the purchase. When I did have questions about the inspection in the report, I was provided with the inspector's cell phone number and called him for clarification. He was very knowledgable and was able to provide recommendation on anything he saw. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a house inspected.

Bill did a wonderful job! He was very thorough and walked me through everything he found in the house. We were first time home buyers and a little nervous about what we would find in the house we wanted to purchase, but Bill made the process smooth and left us confident in what we were purchasing. His services also go beyond the initial home inspection. If we need further advice on something he found in the home or another question that he can answer over the phone or by email, his advice and help is free for the our time in the home. We would recomment him to anyone having there home inspected.

Bill was a very good home inspector. While going through the home, he found things that I would never have noticed. He is very friendly and easy to work with both as a person and a professional He is very open to answering any questions about home inspection as well. He is worth the price he charges. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspector.

I hired Mr. Loden to conduct an inspection for a newly-built home. He arrived early, and was already setting up when I got there. Before he began, Mr. Loden explained his inspection process for all the areas he would check. He also asked me if there were any places in particular about the home that I wanted him to inspect. During his inspection, Mr Loden went through the home very methodically through each area/room, inside and outside the home. After completing each area, Mr Loden reviewed the room/area with me, to show the things he found. He also included advice on home care, safety tips, etc for each area. I opted for the additional thermal camera scan. I am very glad that I did. Mr. Loden found several areas in the walls and ceiling where the home builders missed large spots in the insulation. The color-coded scan showed temperature differences that were as much as 20 degrees different than the insulated areas. These spots could not be differentiated from any other without that scan. Later, I presented the thermal images to the home builders. They fixed those problem areas at their own expense. Thanks to those images, I will not be losing money in unnecessary heating and cooling expenses. So my additional cost of opting for the thermal scan will pay for itself very quickly. If you have concerns about heating/cooling issues (no matter how new/old the home), I definitely recommend adding the thermal scan. Mr. Loden emailed his home inspection report to me just a couple of hours after leaving the site. The report gives a very thourough breakdown of each area/room, inside and outside the home. The report also includes tips and advice on proper home care and maintenance. If you just want the very short version, Mr. Loden includes a summary at the end of his report, listing all major/minor repair recommendations, any safety concerns, and issues that may require further investigation by a specialist (ex: foundation issues, mold, etc). Whether you are looking at a new home, or an old one, I definitely recommend hiring Mr. Loden and Insight Home Inspection to check it out first.

The inspection went really well. He answered any questions we had no matter how simple the question was (first time home buyers). Looked in places of the house I would have never thought of looking. The report came back within the day and was detailed with pictures of things we should look into. I was very happy with the experience and will use and recommend him to any one else looking to have their house inspected.

Mr. Loden provided a thorough home inspection on the property we are buying. He walked us through some areas where previous repairs had been made for a leak in the roof. He also told us about a CLUE report that would divulge any repairs made on the home. We never felt hurried and he was patient and answered questions about areas of concern. Overall it was a very good experience.
