Keith The Plumber LLC

The primary person we worked with was named Don, though Don did have Keith present, inspectors and permit people from Vestavia present, and one other employee. The company (not exactly sure which person) did all the legal work with the city, and I have never seen a harder worker than Don. I was so impressed with him. He worked long after a normal business day, and he arrived early the next morning (he must have been so tired) to check his work and get the inspector to come early in the day, in order for us to have some hope of having our gas turned on again by Alagasco. I can not speak highly enough of Don as a particular plumber with gas expertise, and I would recommend "Keith the Plumber" to anyone and everyone. They did fabulous work from the moment Wes answered the phone to plan our service all the way through to the inspection. They did it incredibly quickly. I thought we would be out of gas for at least a week if not more, but the work was done in one day (even though it was an enormous amount of work) and the gas was back on the next day! You will not regret working with this company!

They were not able to open it. Due to a drop off and turn in my line.

We requested an estimate to install a new emergency drain in the floor of our laundry in conjunction with installation of new floor tile. Our initial encounter for the estimate at our home was very brief, not more than 15 minutes. The technician, Donnie, initially proposed a solution that would require tying the new drain into existing plumbing, which we did not feel was the best option. Another company had proposed a simple drain that would run out the lower part of the house and into the back yard in the event a line broke, or the washer overflowed. When we proposed this to Donnie he stated the cost would be more as it involved drilling thru a block wall, which we were ok with. He then updated his estimate with a new figure and left. When the day came to schedule the work we actually wanted to use a different company, as we preferred their technician, however, we did not receive a timely call back from that company. When we called Keith the Plumber back we were very happy to know they could do the job scheduled in conjunction with the flooring installation. At that point we put the floor guy in contact with the plumber, and assumed they could "speak each other's language" to understand what needed to be done, and when to do it. We were not present when the work was done. Shortly after the floor drain was installed, I receive a call to settle the bill, which I did over the phone at work and without seeing the work itself. At the time I payed the bill I realized the amount was higher than has been estimated, but I did not have the invoice in front of me at work. Unfortunately, shortly after the drain was installed, the icemaker line was damaged. Given that I had already called Keith the Plumber once, I simply called them back and Donnie was able to very quickly fix my line on a Friday afternoon. Again I was not home. Things went way down hill from there. It turned out that the laundry drain installed earlier in the week was installed flush with the SUBFLOOR with a non-adjustable neck. That meant when the backer board and tile were then installed the floor drain sat BELOW the tile and backer board. I called the floor guy who assured me he had explained exactly to Donnie what the flooring thickness would be. When Monday came I recieved a call from the office manager re: payment on the icemaker line (the floor drain was paid earlier). I refused to pay at that time explaining that 1) there were issues with the prior work on the floor drain that needed to be resolved and 2) the amount of money charged did not match the estimate I had recieved. I never threatened not to pay, but simply said these issues needed to be resolved prior to paying the final amount I owed for the icemaker line. I shortly recieved a call from someone I think was Mark who was extremely irate. He proceded to say the problem with the incorrect floor installation was on me as "frankly, miss, you are the general contractor in this case and you were not there to oversee the work". He then stated the difference in the bill amount on the 2 original invoices was related to a service fee that all plumbers collect of ~49.00 which was never stated anywhere on any invoice. When I continued to refuse to pay any amount at that time, he became so irate I had to essentially end the call. Soooooo, here's how it turned out... my floor guy called and spoke to the owner of Keith the Plumber, and verified that the technician did indeed know what the thickness of the floor would be. The owner, very wisely, said "no problem, we'll fix this right". Donnie returned to my home and properly fixed the drain. He did not apologize, did not acknoweldge anyone else in my home, and left without letting anyone know he was leaving. Thankfully, this time it was correct. I later received a call from Mark to collect the money we owed. At that time he apologized profusely for his behavior in our earlier conversation stating he had had a very hard day during our encounter. He then adjusted the second bill by the amount that was overcharged on the first bill... an amount that ironically happened to be a math error on Donnie's part when he changed the original estimate to install the laundry floor drain. In the end I am grateful that we recieved an apology, however, this does not "make up for" the stress on me, and the extra work my floor guy had to go thru due to the problems. I would not recommend this company to anyone else.

He was nice and professional over the phone, but we'd prefer a free estimate. He said he charged $49 for the estimate.

First, I will say they did a quick, thorough, and good job. This is my second time using them. The first time there wasn't any issues. That being said, I was charged over $600 to replace a 4 inch piece of pipe that took them 2 minutes to find and about 30 minutes to replace. I mentioned I had a coupon that I bought on here and I felt as if the price went up to justify the coupon. I have a hard time justifying paying that much for a job that took them less than an hour. I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't been in a bind. I have a few things I want repaired in the house but I'll probably go elsewhere.

It's not very well. The first plumber that came, he did the work but he didn't put the tank back on with enough bolts, and so then a few days of leak all over the floor, so it was within the 30 days so another man from same company came and he said there weren't enough bolts, so he put on 2 more bolts. So recently, of course it's past the warranty, but it's started leaking again, so I called another plumber, and they said that he had not put a new seal on the tank, and he should have done that. So I was not impressed at all. They said that the water coming in had too much pressure and they wouldn't guarantee the work, but that seems to be working okay, it's just that they didn't do the toilet right, actually two different plumbers from the same company didn't do it right. I'd give them an F, because they didn't do it right, and I had to clean up water twice. I would not recommend them at all. The price was fine, i'm thinking it was a fair price. The water was everywhere and I don't want to go through that again. They came very promptly, that was no problem. They were polite, as far as dealing with them that was fine, they just didn't do I don't think what they should have done.

I had just purchased an Angie's list coupon during the Holiday for Keith's Plumbing. The issue kept getting worse so I wanted someone to help as soon as possible. I called early Monday morning after the Holiday weekend. I talked to the receptionist, described the situation, and she said she'd have someone call me within an hour. Before the hour was out, I received a call from Wes. I described the problem and he gave some possible reasons but send he'd send out a technician as soon as he could and he'd call back within an hour or so to let me know. Before the hour was up, he called and said he'd have someone to the house between noon and 2 PM. Before noon, I received a call from the technician (Bobby and Joey) saying he was leaving a job and would be at my house in about 30 minutes...and he was! He assessed the situation and determined it was the pressure valve which was over 25 years old. He also suggested something for the water heater which is also over 25 years old. I told him to do both things and he got them done professionally within 2 hours. We checked everything out and everything is in good working order again. There responsiveness and communication were exceptional and the work was done efficiently and professionally. I was very pleased with the entire process and I believe the pricing was fair.

From first communication via Angie's List to completion of the repair was less than six hours.

They showed up within the hour on a Sunday to repair it. They were very professional, timely, and reasonably priced. Will definitely use them again in the future!

Their initial idea was to use a water jet to clear the drain...but the machine didn't work due to not developing the proper pressure. They (2 plumbers came on the truck) then used a commercial snake and cleared the drain over a period of a couple of hours. When I noticed that water had come inside of my house after they left, they returned to make sure that it wasn't their fault. The two plumbers were not familiar with the offer, and initially gave me an "estimate" of around $100 more than the offer price. Once I showed them the coupon I printed out, they had no problem in adhering to the offer price, and would have done so no matter how long was involved, I believe.

Everything went very smoothly on the morning of the installation. However, my husband and I were not completely satisfied with the way one of the toilets fit under our cabinets. After discussing this with Keith's dispatcher, Wes, the plumbers did everything necessary to make sure the toilet fit correctly. We are totally pleased with the work, the professionalism, the courtesy and the price on this job. This is the third time we have used Keith the plumber and will consider him first for any plumbing needs in the future.

They only installed a stopper in one bathroom, they provided the one they had. I still paid an additional $50 dollars besides the $99 paid to have them come out. Just expected a little more but ended up installing the faucet myself.

It was okay. In the scale of 1 to 5, I'd give 3. They could have given a better estimate. They didn't follow some simple precautions like turning off the main. There was water all over.

Technicians were an hour late. They replaced 3-inches of pipe going into the toilet flange, set it to dry and added a support strap. Maybe a 30 minute job excluding the wait for the pipe glue to dry. they did this from underneath and the toilet did not require to be removed. Besides the 39.00 coupon, they charged a whooping 340.78. Ridiculous! No warranty noted on the receipt but the technician said they do warranty but no specifics given. Next time we will call around instead of assuming Service providers on Angie's list are superior and reasonable.

great.... fixed everything. Also found that my hot water tank had pressure problems and was able to fix in the same day. He literally worked all day at my home because the clog was very complicated and involved many drains. Also he replaced parts on water pipes coming into my home to bring my water pressure to normal limits. Glad he was able to do all necessary repairs in one day. Would definitely use these people again. I thought their pricing was fair
