Description of Work: They arrived the same day I called them. They fixed the problem with the AC/heat, but my husband was outside and they didn't give him a bill. Maybe it was covered under warranty.

Description of Work: Put in a new unit. They have also provided yearly maintenance. My only problem with them was the price. But I did know the price when I signed the contract.

Description of Work: Installed a new heat pump and air handler. They arrived when they said they would, they were professional, they cleaned up, and they explained the operation of the new thermostat.

Description of Work: Bunn's and Bennett Heating and Air installed a new 3 ton AC system in my house in June of 2013. They offered fair pricing and even were able to provide a 0% interest financing plan via Wells Fargo. The install went very well and the owner and crew were professional and courteous. I replaced an approximately ten year old AC unit that had failed and was leaking Freon. The installers assessed that I did not need new plumbing or ducting to accommodate the new unit. The install went smoothly and the crew cleaned up after themselves, which was appreciated. They even managed to fix an odd drain problem that was causing the original blower drain pan to flood and occasionally overflow. The heating portion of the unit is excellent and is better than what was replaced. The AC portion of the unit works well, but not all the time (see below for more). | |Unfortunately, it appears as though the product that was installed is not able to handle my house to my satisfaction. On hot days (spring, summer) the unit struggles to keep the house comfortable. It manages to do an OK job at reducing the temperature inside compared to out, but it is often still too warm on the hotter days. | |Bunn's and Bennett have been very nice about trying to remedy the situation, but I believe the problem to be something they cannot control (unit quality/capability). The only reason I am giving them a B overall is due to some of their responses to this situation. The first thing they mentioned was that my house has high ceilings and only ridge vent to help alleviate heat in the attic. The next then they mentioned was that my attic gets rather hot in the summer (gee, no kidding). Their solution to my issue was to have me open all the doors in my house so that I get more/better return air. Unfortunately, I can't do that all the time. They also slowed the speed of my blower fan so as to give the air more time to cool before coming out. While that might work ok (air comes out colder), it does the outer bedrooms absolutely no justice when the air pressure is not enough to actually circulate in the room. Also, the placement of my thermostat is not ideal. I used to have an RF thermostat, with the actual temperature sensor inside a remote box I could place anywhere in the house. Unfortunately, B's&B were unable to figure out how to use my RF unit, so they replaced it with another box that is fixed to the original, poor location. This exacerbates the problem when the thermostat reads 72 and the rest of the house is 78 degrees. I was OK with this situation for a while, but I recently spoke with some other contractors and they mentioned that any additional roof ventilation solution I could come up with would not likely lower the temps inside the house and would need frequent repair. | |Bunn's and Bennett AC did a great job of installing my product, but I believe they sold me the wrong product for my house. Backing that up with good intentions is all well and good, but not having a real solution is unfortunate. The price was acceptable at the time (labor was reasonable), but the unit is not worth the price I paid. Therefore I believe them to be a good, hard working individuals, but I cannot honestly recommend them for a new system installation. They likely do a much better job of repair and maintenance (as evidenced by fixing my blower drain problem).

Description of Work: Installed new American Standard HVAC. It's been a complete transformation from my old heat pump. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Performed annual system check up. Did a good job on check up, but recommendation for replacement of leaking coil may have been premature. More analysis was needed and other options should have been explored before replacement was warranted.

Description of Work: Complete inspection of HVAC split pack system to determine why the gas unit was not firing up. Found a lock out...vacuum switch clogged. Cleaned and reamed out the port. Inspected the ducting per my request. Recommended dampers in the ducting to even out the heat/AC distribution.
