Terrible. First rep provided only one generator quote, when we agreen two quotes would be provided for price comparison reasons. He also indicated he didn't have enough information to generate the quote for the 100 amp pool equipment run. I had to reach back out to Mr Electric to schedule the second visit, rather than having someone contact us. Second rep was completely unprofessional. He was disrespectful to my wife, left both attic ladders down and created a gigantic mess of insulation at one of the attic ladders. And even though my email address is my first name, his e-mail to me had a completely incorrect and different name. We will NEVER use Mr Electric and I plan on calling them and speaking to a manager about our experience. Prepare for an terrible experience should you decide to hire them.
Description of Work: Two separate reps of Mr. Electric visited our home. First rep was asked to come out to provide an estimate for a whole-house generator install. He took lots of pictures with his tablet device to help him generate his quote, after he left. It took almost a week for him to e-mail the quote. We also asked him to provide a separate quote for a 100 amp pull for our pool equipment.

The service tech arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. He coordinated his activities effectively with the other crew working on our project. There were some unexpected changes to the work order that made it necessary for him to return to complete the project. The office staff was friendly and cooperative. He arrived on time for the follow up work which was completed in a professional manner.
Description of Work: 1. Added a separate service and light fixture in our crawl space. 2. Installed whole house surge protection. 3. Repaired a broken underground wire.

*****UPDATE***** I was very promptly contacted by Mr. Electric following the problems experienced during the initial service. The gentleman (Kevin) was very nice and we discussed the issue. He offered to come and take a look and see what could be done to rectify any concerns. After the visit and a short discussion of my expectations, Kevin agreed that they could bring someone out with more experience with conduit and fix the issue free of charge. Needless to say I was very happy. The amount paid was never the big issue but I certainly appreciated the gesture to correct the problem. The next day the more experienced conduit service man (Michael) came to the house very promptly as well (they have always been on time or within just a couple of minutes of on time which is very nice). Michael and I talked a little about expectations and he got straight to work. In no time, he had it looking great. It's now a first quality install and it looks awesome! I'm very happy with this level of service and commitment to correcting an issue. This is what integrity in a business should look like. I'll be glad to call them in the future for any other electrical work that I need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, the provider was very prompt and started out professional and for those things, at least, I'm appreciative. We asked for several things to be quoted and decided which of those we could afford. The main thing we wanted was the work for the back patio. What the provider did and what we wanted are two separate things. We wanted two switches. One for the lights and the other for the ceiling fan. I explained that I just needed the wire pulled and switches installed on the outside and I could handle putting in the ceiling fan and lights. I was told this raised a liability concern and I understood. No company wants to be left with a situation where a customer adds to their work, screws something up, causes damage and then gets sued. Even if I allowed them to install all the connections for lights and fan, I can still come in and change it up. It's not tamper proof so why does it matter at what point their work stops? The price seemed a little high but I was more frustrated by the whole experience. The installer waffled back and forth and initially said he wouldn't do the job for fear of liability issues since I would install my own wiring and conduit to the lights and fan. It sounded like they wanted to do more of the work so I was willing to concede to him and allow him to put in the wire and conduit from the switch out to the box where the fan will be installed. However, this was after almost a half hour of indecisiveness, complaining about how much time he'd already spent trying to give a quote (which started out very congenially and helpful) and generally stating that "this kind of work" was messy and he'd rather just walk away. I know that I was asking for more than the usual install. The look of the install was just as important to me as the functionality. This was apparently a problem for the standardized pricing model. I never said I wouldn't pay for getting what I wanted but it seemed that what I wanted wasn't an option. The patio has an exposed beam look and the electrical was supposed to look tidy and industrial with rigid conduit running to the fan and lights. I guess that was just too much. I never even got a price for doing it the way I wanted it. He just wouldn't do it. To get him to just do the part that I knew I couldn't (drilling through the brick wall and pulling a power wire through for the switch), I agreed to the work knowing I'd have to change some things. He ended up putting in a switch with rigid conduit up the wall to the molding. Instead of bending the conduit out over the molding, it just stops short and he ran flexible conduit to the fan box. We had previously discussed this and the conduit was going to be bent out and up from the molding since I do not have a conduit bender of my own. I was fine with the flexible conduit beyond that because I was going to just replace it with rigid but now I have to replace it as well as the rigid piece he was too lazy to bend. By this time I was so irritated I just wanted to get it done so I can take most of it down and do it like I wanted. I paid a whole bunch for a wire to be pulled through the wall and attached to a switch. Because that is the only thing that will remain of their work. What a wasted opportunity to impress a new customer for potential future work. I know my customers wouldn't appreciate that sort of service.

called for a quote, the electrician (Blake) arrived promptly as promised and reviewed what was necessary to complete the task, gave my wife and I a full description of what would be performed and how long it would take, etc ........ the price was higher than I wanted but I was assured that he would minimize any impacts to the existing drywall work, etc ...... as we were going through a kitchen remodel and did not want to rework items that had already been finished. Blake finished the job as promised with minimum impacts to our already full contractor schedule. He was very conscientious about keeping to our schedule and ensuring that we'd not incur additional costs due to our poor planning related to light placements in the already finished ceiling.

Purchased generator from Home Depot and Mr Electric is their installer. The install was without major incident and took over a week to complete because of the number of parties involved (plummer, city inspectors and Huntsville Utilities.) All parties involved were professional and did a very good job. I would recommend Mr Electric for this type project.

Electrician was very efficient; seemed to work in a logical pattern. Although the work took several hours, he continued until it was completed instead of returning the following day. He also cleaned the various work areas thoroughly after he finished each task. Two years later we have had no issues with the work that was done. We now have more areas where electrical work is needed and will definitely call on Mr. Electric again.

My husband and I were visiting his parents the end of April. My father in law told my husband their oven was not working. My husband was trying to determine the cause for the oven not working and found some bad electrical wiring in the kitchen. My in laws are in their middle 80s and they live in an older home. Older homes were not wired to support all the appliances, televisions and computers we all own now. The faulty wiring in the kitchen really concerned my husband so he told his dad we needed to get an electrician out to the house ASAP. My husband told his dad the kitchen wiring was a fire hazard and very unsafe. His dad was not too keen on the idea of hiring someone because he had apparently had some bad experiences with electricians in the past. My husband and I researched providers using Angie's List and contacted Mr. Electric. They were very prompt and did a complete inspection of the home's electrical wiring. We were not surprised to hear that most of the wiring was no longer within code. This is an older home and the wiring had never been upgraded over the years. Kitchen appliances had been installed over the years by people who were not electricians and the wiring had been done unsafely. Mr. Electric gave us an estimate and gave my in laws some very nice discounts and the work was completed the next week as scheduled. They even completed the work at a lower cost than estimated. The electricians who did the work were very nice and professional. They completed the work on time and my father in law was very pleased with the quality of the work. We were worried about someone taking advantage of an elderly couple so we are very happy with Mr. Electric and how nice they were to my in laws. They cleaned up after they finished the work. The oven works now! We feel much better now knowing my in laws are in a safer home thanks to Mr. Electric.

See above. More detail: he replaced the pump switch, which had fallen apart inside the housing.
Description of Work: We called in the morning of 5/23 (the start of the holiday weekend) because our pool pump wouldn't turn on and we were expecting many guests over the weekend. The electrician, Chris, showed up very promptly, diagnosed the problem correctly, made several recommendations for a more over-arching issue he discovered, pulled the circuit breaker panel from the wall to verify his findings, fixed the problem, and provided us with a reasonable quote to install a timer (something we've wanted for a long time.) He couldn't have been more courteous and helpful. And it all took only 2 hours, including the time it took for him to go get the necessary part! VERY reasonable price for that level of service.

He got the utility department out to shut down power and pull the meter. The wires in the meter were charred and it was noted that this was the most likely problem. He installed a new meter base, weather head and conduit to the weather head. No problems have been noticed since this was done. On the day of the installation, he arrived at the agreed upon time and had the installation done before the time stated. Only waiting was on the utility department to reconnect power and that was a short wait. Very friendly and told me what was being done at each step. Would highly recommend to others and use again in future.
Description of Work: Had a partial power failure in the house. Not all went out. Next day called Mr. Electric and they narrowed down the problem to the meter base. They got the utility department out quickly and discovered we had a potential fire hazard.

After Zac cleaned up the area we discussed the future repairs. He emailed my receipt and an estimate for the next job within 30 minutes after the job was complete today. Mr. Electric has a good reputation and since I will need additional repairs within the next two years the choice was right for me. The only negative was the additional cost of their 'advantage plan' which supposedly included the Angie's List discount. I'm not usually a service plan purchaser because work performed should be guaranteed for a set period of time. Unfortunately, I didn't question the addition of the plan or ask for details before I signed and paid, so my bad. I still won't hesitate to call them for my next electrical repair job.
Description of Work: I needed a new back porch light for my 1950's house and I couldn't find a replacement with the right specs. I also wanted a programmable timer but Zac suggested a light sensor type (photocell) instead, he explained the differences and why he thought it was a better option - I agreed. Zac arrived promptly, was professional, and the job was completed in a timely manner. He explained the installation considerations required for the original porch roof structure and what additional repairs should be done to the house.

Our technician, Josh, showed up on time. He was very professional and wore boot covers while in the house. He figured out the problems we were having and corrected them. We asked about whole house surge protectors and he provided the information and pricing. He also explained their Advantage Plan and pricing., which we purchased. He completed a whole-house electrical inspection. We authorized him to install the surge protectors. The total price came in lower than the price qouted. We run our own business and we were impressed with Mr. Electric and would refer them to our friends and family.

Josh arrived at exactly the estimated time, and was extremely polite and cordial. We talked about what I wanted to do (install two floodlights, install 30A plug, fix downstairs wiring and light) and he was able to quickly give me an estimate for the services to be performed. He then said he could take care of all of those services immediately that same day, so I said heck yes. It took the better part of the day (wiring had to be run in the attic, which is not that easy to access, and there was a trip to Lowe's) but I am extremely pleased with both Josh and Mr. Electric and would absolutely call them again.
Description of Work: Mr. Electric (Josh, the technician) installed two flood lights on two opposite corners of the house to increase nighttime visibility. Josh also installed a 30A plug on an outside wall for our travel trailer to plug in to, along with the bubble cover for the plug. In addition, Josh fixed a problem with wiring in the downstairs laundry room (plug/light were not working) and installed a new light fixture.
