Description of Work: This kitchen remodel went better than we dared hope. All of the workers were talented, diligent and courteous. The inevitable problems were dealt with immediately and successfully. The kitchen turned out beautifully and displayed every single detail that we had ordered looking better than we had envisioned. We highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Enclosed a porch, remodeled and extended the living room Remodeled bedroom, created a pocket door, and installed 8 new windows where there use to be just 4. Replaced two exterior doors. Finished the inside of a triple car garage. This company is fast, stays on site until completed before taking on another job! Cleans up at the end of each day. Owner is on site every single day ensuring it is done correctly. This company is awesome and polite and not a bunch of animals or pot heads. Professional in all areas at all times. Will use them again for the Master S uite.

Description of Work: This team did an outstanding job for us in repairing items in our rented property that had not been taken care of for some time. They helped to bring loving care back home. They responded very quickly to our rushed timelines and their prices were very reasonable. Their attention to detail was so appreciated. We were quite nervous about finding the right fit for our needs, not sure where to go we trusted Angie's list and are so glad we did. They truly are a cut above. Please do not pass up a chance to have this fine crew help you in you next project. You can tell the what you need and trust they will go the extra mile to make it happen. You will be glad you did. Thank you for you fine work! We will be doing business with you again!

Much improved installation with the new door, including the storm door. First replacement storm door was not fitting correctly and not quite the quality we needed. Paul returned as scheduled a few days later and reinstalled the better quality storm door. We are planning to have more work done by A Cut Above Carpentry.
Description of Work: Removal of front door including two sidelight panels and transom. Replace with new front door with sidelights and transom, also, storm door.

[member name removed] is one of those customers that knew his door was out of square and level, he ordered his replacement door and hired me to install it, including new storm door. Storm door was not up to par so he returned it. I came back later date to install it. A great customer to work for and looking forward to his next project. Needless to say his new door is done right and looks great

I called him the previous Friday afternoon. He was checking on supplies for a job but came to give me an estimate. Since he had a previous job that would take a few days, he wasn't sure when he could replace my door. My pocket door (hall bath door) was off the track and removed from the door. I had company coming Wednesday and really needed a door so he worked hard to finish his previous job. He and one of his crew came to my house around 4:15 p.m. and had the new door completed before 5:00 p.m. He had purchased the door and knob earlier. I did not have him paint the door since I will be painting the hall and bath at a later date and just needed the door installed.
Description of Work: Replace a pocket door with a regular door. He bought the materials (including door and knob) and installed it.

(Member name removed) is a prime example of what we pride our selfs on, that is no matter how big or small a problem, I will take care of the customer. She was very understanding of the work and a joy to work for.I look forward to doing more for her as her needs arise. Advice never pay up front for work to be done, Somone needing money up front means only there looking to rip you off or there no a sound company.I here to many times customers paying before work is done and it never gets done, thats why I never ask for money untill the Job is Complete, and I take one job at a time.I dont hire out my work.Unlike most I'am the carpenter, worker. You will get the best job money can buy no matter how big or small. Thanks Paul

Paul and his crew were very punctual on a daily basis. Every day he and his crew were prepared for the remodeling scheduled for that day. Each day's progress totally overwhelmed me. I could leave my house for a few hours and come back amazed at the progress that had been made while I was away. Paul and his crew wowed me on a daily basis on how fast they accomplished the multitude of details that went into the job they were doing. I can't say enough about how much respect I have for Paul and his crew on the quality of construction they do as well as the personal level of caring they have for their clients. Final word is that they leave me in awe and anxiously awaiting their return to do more marvelous renovations they are making in my home.
Description of Work: I found A Cut Above Carpentry on Angie’s List. Best source of a contractor I could have ever looked for. I know nothing about remodeling or the process that is used to get the end result of what I can only dream of. Paul Bryan, the owner of A Cut Above Carpentry, has a logo of “The First Thing We Build Is A Customer Relationship”. People, let me tell you, this is no marketing scheme. Paul is the real deal. I had the idea of turning a full bath, ½ bath, and closet space into one large bathroom. With just a vague idea of the finished product, Paul gave me different layouts that would make this dream a reality. The end result was so fantastic, so over the top, that I now keep the picture of my finished bathroom on my cell phone to show to anyone who will hold still for 2 seconds for me to show it to them. I was so blown away with the finished bathroom, that I could not let Paul and his crew leave just yet. With a few vague ideas of a master bedroom and walk in closet to accompany the gorgeous bathroom, Paul (once again) brainstormed an awesome use of space to accomplish a one-of-a-kind bedroom and walk in closet that made the use of minimum floor space into an awesome showcase. Paul turned my hallway into a walk in closet and put the washer/dryer that was in the hallway into an unused closet in a spare bedroom. In addition to putting the washer/dryer in this space, he also put up shelves and rods so that I could use this space for storage and for hanging wet clothes to dry or for overnight guests to use the rod to hang their clothes. Alas, Paul and his crew are now through with the jobs Ihired him for. But he knows I have him reserved for future jobs. He has shown me his expertise and the quality of his work, so for me, he and his crew will the be the ONLY contractor I will use on future interior and exterior jobs on my home.

The customer had an idea of her dream bath. After meeting with her I drew a plan and presented it to her. While she had no idea how this could be accomplished and keep it at an affordable price. She was willing to go forward. My challenges working on a home built in the late 1800 hundreds was somewhat complex. Having a customer willing to go without a rest room for two weeks to get her dream turned into a reality is amazing. We remove the flooring and ceiling and relocated four doors to areas more useable. Built new flooring with two layers T.G plywood to with stand the weight of Jacuzzi and installed durock tile membrane to set tile on. Mean while the customer watching as we brought her dream into reality. The end result was and is over whelming for me as I think back to what we started with. While adapting modern products to an older home has its challenges, it could not of been done without her ability to be open and easy to work for. I can’t begin to thank her enough for trusting me and allowing me into her home.

I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD FOR PAUL, HENRY and the crew Paul has to work with him. Paul is the owner and HE works the job with his crew so he was always there if I had any questions.Originally he was hired to replace the carpet for laminate and to place tile in the kitchen and new countertops. I had hired another company to fix the roof on my carport but only 12 hours after the other carpenter started I sent them off the job due to very poor carpentry and no ethics of basic carpentry knowledge by trying to put good wood on to rotten wood.At that time I asked Paul for an estimate and he was also given the bid to fix the garage roof and siding and replace the roof with metal. He then built an 12' overhang on the front edge of the house and a gabled roof over the front steps. A metal roof was also added to the house. They accomadated my desires for the house, went beyond carpentry even to the point of getting my Christmas decorations out of the garage attic as I had an injured arm and a retired senior I wasunable to do it myself. I highly recommend this crew for an excllent honest carpentry job.
Description of Work: I had my casrpet removed from livingroom and bedroom and laminate reinstalled. Porceline tile put in kitchen and new countertops. Garage rafters repaired and metal roof applied. on house a 12' overhang added to front of roof and a gabled entrance way added over steps. Then a metal roof put on house. vinyl siding replaced on front and back of garage and repared/replaced some. window repaled in kitchen.

The member was a thrill to work for, she knew what she wanted and had an open mind about the work. I treat each customer as if I was working for my mother.I expect the same from my workers. With 29 yrs experience I know the importance of being a hands on carpenter and not sub contracting out. When I start a job and stay with it till finished. Not stringing customers along like most contractors do.
