I've been doing general contracting since I was old enough to hold a drill. My father built our house and had a deck company that I worked at my entire childhood. When I went to high school I also worked for a restoration company were we renovated 4 houses that were in the historic district in Savannah Georgia. When I started college I worked for a door and window company where I was a EPA certified master installer for Andersen Doors and Windows as well as several other companies, but I specialized in Custom Fabricated Wrought Iron Doors as well. Through the years of experience however, I managed to learn many other skills, essentially being anything, other then pouring the actual foundation for the house, I can repair, modify, or build everything else involved with residential contracting (I did some commercial contracting as well but hardly seems important to get into the details of that). When I was in my mid 20's I fell into the automotive world. It was more interesting and paid better which mattered to me because I was paying for a Finance Degree from GSU in Atlanta(Robinson College of Business) and have since obtained my finance degree. In that time of pursuing my degree I became a master mechanic for Toyota and Lexus as well as a Custom Fabricator. After I graduated, I started a general contracting company and my own shop, as I was looking for something in the financial field but met my wife and moved to Birmingham so she could pursue her career as a P.A. at U.A.B. hospital) which inevitably caused me to shut down my shop and contracting company (I felt she had great opportunity and I wanted to be able to support her as she started her new career). I also combined my knowledge from working on very expensive and classic vehicles to modern electric and hybrid vehicles that I started installing home security systems etc., which I hope gives a general idea of how versatile my skill set is and hopefully can help with your future projects. -Thank You, JJ

With nearly 500 five-star online reviews and A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau, Encore has succeeded in giving exceptional service and superior quality to its customers with no dissatisfied customers to date! Most customers found our metal roofing costs to be less than half of other companies, and in many cases less than the cost of a shingle roof replacement. Metal roofing is far superior to shingle roofing for the following reasons; #1 – it is much cooler than asphalt shingles- regardless of color. #2 – it is equivalent to the same cost. #3 – the lifetime of a metal roof is 3 to 4 times that of a shingle roof— or longer. #4 – Metal roofing increases the resale value of your home. #5 – Metal roofing eliminates the possible need for replacing any wood decking due to the fact that the metal roofing is installed using its own wood strip foundation. This is a huge cost savings for roofs that have possible rotten or weak wood decking. #6– Metal roofing sheds water much better than asphalt shingles, and is 2 to 3 times less likely to leak. #7 – the highest wind rating for a regular shingle roof is 130 mph – Metal roofing is 2 to 3 times better. Here are some myths online and otherwise that are simply NOT true regarding Metal roofing: #1 – Metal roofing is actually NOT heavier than shingle roofing— it is less than half the weight of shingle roofing. #2 – Metal roofing is NOT noisy due to the fact that we leave the existing shingles as a sound barrier and a thermal barrier. #3- Metal roofing is NOT 2 to 3 times the price. #4- Metal roofing does NOT affect cell phone reception or Internet usage. Although Encore Roofs specializes in quality and affordable metal roofing, we also provide other services such as blow in attic insulation and pressure washing. Customers like us because; - We are NOT a franchise- we are locally owned and operated. - The owner is on every job, every day of the job. - 95% of all projects are completed within within two weeks of a signed contract. - once work begins on a project, pricing does not change. - trustworthy, professional, communicative, clean work practices, quality materials, guaranteed installation, competitive cost. - Sorry; No hablo español. We look forward to working for you, and making you another one of our very happy customers :-)
"Brian has done a great job for our roofing! Highly recommend him!!!"

When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.
Will you address air leaks in my house?
Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?
What kind of insulation will work best for my home?
How do you handle signs of a water leak?
Are you licensed and insured?
Can you provide customer references?
The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.
If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.
In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:
High heating and cooling bills
Uncomfortable room temperatures
Ice dams on the edge of your roof
Roof leaks
Cold floors and walls
Freezing pipes
Temperature fluctuations
Visibly low insulation
Noise problems
Pest problems
On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:
Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot
Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot
Batt: $2–$4 per square foot
Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot
Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot
Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
