All good! They were right on time, very nice and courteous. Taught me a few things about my fireplace and my old gas logs. Didn't try to sell me anything, rather helped me get up and running with what I already had. PLUS it was especially good timing since the temperatures that night dropped to 9 degrees!

We thought that we had a gas leak, but the company confirmed that we don't. They were very professional, and thorough in inspecting both fireplaces. I would use them again.

Everyone I dealt with was extremely courteous, professional and accommodating. They were right on time, and inspected and cleaned the fireplace and cleaned the dryer vent. They also took the extra time to answer several questions and explain how my gas fireplace works. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them as well.

I contacted Mad Hatter to inquire about Dryer Vent Cleaning. The woman that answered the phone was very helpful and told me that they have a flat charge of $100 for vent cleaning. I explained that I was calling about a 3 story condominium and we needed to have both sides of the building cleaned from top to bottom. She said that the charge would be $200, $100 per side. I felt like this was very resonable and I set up an appointment. She told me that the service man would be there within 30 minutes of the appointment time or he would call. He was right on time!! He did a great job cleaning the dryer vents and explained what could be done to keep the vents from clogging so quickly in the future. He was very professional. The charge was exactly as quoted. I would call them again!

I can't tell the story because I wasn't there. They arrived two hours early while I was still at work. However, my husband is the world's pickiest person so it must have gone really well. They came, they cleaned, they left. All of that for the price they estimated. The price did include a chimney inspection, and there were no problems other than the nest we knew about.

The guys showed up on time, very nice and personable. They inspected the chimney, cleaned it. No mess in the house! firebox looks great and documented inspections. Also offered to provide any assistance with the chimney (or with documentation) as I work to sell my house! Would work with them again!

Every thing went very well. They kept me informed and answered all my questions. Repairs required apart that had been produced in over twenty years. They said they could make in their sheet metal short. Called me later to inform me that he had found the part in their warehouse. Saved me the cost of building one..they returned two days later to install the part. Every thing was preformed in profession and efficient manner. I will use these guys again well as recommend them to anyone.

They arrived on time, and explained exactly what procedures they would use to clean the ducts. They were very professional and did not leave any dust or debris when they finished. Believe it or not, they found debris in the ducts from when the house was built!!! Great service! Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking professional air duct cleaning!

Very professional from start to finish. I called and set up an appointment for the next day. They came a little early. the dryer vent was very long with a couple of bends in the attic. They vacuumed the vent, replaced the vent going from the dryer to the roof vent, reattached the vent where it was connected to the roof, repaired a leak and stabilized the vent in two places in the attic. We were also given some tips on how to keep less lint from passing from the dryer vent to the attic vent.

I have two fire places and he inspected in told me only one needed cleaning which was a shock. First time I have had someone actually check it first and not charge me. I really appreciated his honesty and will call them next year for sure because of it.

I was searching for someone to clean and inspect the fireplace. We just moved to this area, and with my husband deployed was worried about the fireplace as the real estate company indicated they had no idea the last time it was inspected and cleaned. I called another group but began reading bad reviews then I decided to join Angie's List. So very glad I did - The Mad Hatter had excellent reviews, and I called them immediately to set up an appointment. The receptionist was very informative and helpful. The price quoted was the same price I was given over the phone. They arrived on time and were very professional and helpful. They did notice the grate was to big for the fireplace and trimmed it down for me for $25 - a deal because they was a lot of trimming done on the grate. Very happy - feel better about using the fireplace too!

The Mad Hatter came promptly and were professional. They were significantly less expensive than other services we checked out. They did a good job and even closed off an old duct which was come unattached and was no longer needed.

I called and got an appointment. On the day of the appointment the two gentlemen got here a little early which was great. They were both very polite and friendly and it was easy to ask them questions. They told us all about our fireplace- it turns out we have a really well built fireplace! The gas log system that we had called them in for turned out to be not up to code and was a severe safety hazard. The previous owners had apparently installed it or had it installed incorrectly. We have a baby in the house so I am so very glad that we found this out. The gentlemen told me I could get a different gas system if I wanted (they were not selling me a product- the systems can be bought at Lowe's or Home Depot) or I could go with wood burning. I chose wood burning and they removed the old safety hazard non-venting gas logs and rocks and made it safe to convert to wood burning. Then they installed a gas starter for us so that we could get the wood lit more easily than using kindling. They took away all the old parts and left me a nice clean fireplace. I will go myself to a hardware store and pick up an insert to put the logs on. They also showed us how to correctly use the flue/damper so that we didn't make it go off kilter like it was when they got here. Then they also repaired our gas heater in the bathroom that was not lighting. It turned out that the knob was off kilter so they corrected it. All in all it was a great experience. So glad I found this company on Angie's List. I would not hesitate to use the company again or recommend it to anyone. We also had our air ducts cleaned by this company. They did a wonderful job and the house smelled great after the work.

Mad Hatter's owner and an assistant arrived on time and performed cleaning of my air duct and return, as well as my dryer vent. They vacuumed up around each vent after they cleaned it, and were in and out in only 1 1/2 hrs. The air seems much fresher since, and I've had much less dusting. Very pleased and I have used them before, so I felt confident in using them again. Both men were pleasant and professional, efficient and focused. What a relief to have this done. So glad I had my dryer vent cleaned, did not realize it had so much lint in it, even though it has been about six yrs. since it was cleaned. Even with a short 6' length of dyer hose vented to outside, there was a large pile of lint that came out. This could be dangerous if not removed from hose. I do a lot of washing and drying and clean my screen vent each time, but that doesn't remove the majority of lint that occurs.

Inspected two fireplaces in a house we just bought to make sure everything was working propery. Timely, did a good job, and didn't try to sell and quot;add onsand quot; or additional services while there.

They called ahead of time and asked they could come earlier which was fine. Were very professional and did a thorough job, especially since we missed getting our chimney swept last year(s?). Will use again and recommend to others.

I had a wonderful experience with this company! I used them to perform chimney sweep services on my new home. They were courteous, professional, and prompt. Upon inspection they advised me that the gas logs were defunct and that I needed to purchase a new set. They did not try to push any products on me. When I asked what logs they would recommend they gave me good advice. They told me that if I ordered from them, they would pass along a discount that they receive and only charge their purchase cost + installation fees. I got beautiful new gas logs installed for the cost I would have paid just to purchase the logs elsewhere! I am very pleased with this company and I will use them to inspect my system every year from here on out!

Also, while my appointment was set for 2:00 pm,they called at 11:30 am to see if they could come early. They were up the street finishing cleaning our neighbor's chimney. I was happy to have them earlier, and happy to know my neighbors also used their services.

They were extremely thorough. They showed up when they were supposed to. They were on time on a Monday morning at 8 o-clock. I had made the appointment 5-6 weeks before. They were very conscientious on our hardwoods. They were not going to damage it. They didn't try to sell us a lot of other stuff. They showed us everything. They cleaned up after themselves.

The price was very reasonable. They showed up when they said they would be here.

They were reasonable. I would use them again in the future. The main reason I used them is because I got a groupon coupon and there are plenty of competitors. That's how I came across them, and that was the deal. I also had a friend who worked for them years and years ago.

Two men arrived on time and went right to work. They were professional, pleasant, and courteous. My ducts had not been cleaned since I moved into this house ten years ago. Consequently, while they were working, I could tell a marked improvement in the air quality. They told me that ducts need to be cleaned every five to seven years; I told them I would see them again in five to seven years. They had a graduated billing scale based on the number of air vents. I fell within the range of 13 to 17. I received a $50 discount. They also inspected my fireplace (included in the price) and gave me an all clear. This unlike a time previously when two young men told me my fireplace inset had been recalled and I needed to replace it immediately. Needless to say, I sent those young men packing.
