Guin Service LLC

I contacted Guin and I was able to easily get an appointment for Thursday, March 14th, between 8 am and 9 am. However, the plumber did not show up for my appointment at the allotted time, but instead showed up after 9:30 am. He did contact me after 9 am to tell me he was on his way, but he didn't bother to apologize for running late. I was not very pleased with this because I had taken off work to be home for this appointment with the expectation they would be on time so I could return to work. When they did arrive they were very polite and got right to work on unclogging the sink drain. The plumber tried to force air down the drain several times to unclog it, but that did not work. So, they brought the electric drain snake in to see if they could unclog it with that. The plumber did a good job of covering under the sink with a drop cloth and he was very thorough and meticulous while using the snake. After some time, he was able to unclog the sink with the snake. Then he put the elbow and extension back together making sure it was tightened well and did not leak. He also reattached the drain plug and adjusted it correctly. I was very pleased that they were able to unclog the sink and they cleaned up after themselves very well. I was also surprised and impressed to receive a card from Guin in the mail a few days later thanking me for my business and a follow up phone call from them this past week. Even though they were not punctual, they did a fine job and I would use them again and recommend Guin to my friends and family.

We called Guin, mainly because our master shower was extremely clogged. Taking a five minute shower resulted in three inches of water filling up the inside of our shower, and Liquid Plumber wasn't cutting it. We had also been having chronic issues with our master and guest toilets running. We had other plumbers over to inspect, but had come to the understanding that we might have to live with this problem. Guin was able to get us on their schedule in a few days, and they called when they said they would to tell us that someone was on his way. The plumber (Mr. Mannin) fixed all of my problems quickly and efficiently. On one of the toilets, he needed to replace the handle. Because all the other fixtures in the bathroom were brass, I really wanted to have a brass handle. He went out to Ferguson and picked one up and came right back with it. It was beyond the expected level of service.

We had Guin Service come out to a house that we just purchased and install a pressure gauge on the gas line to see if the system would hold pressure. This was required because gas service had been shut off at the house for over a year. The gauge had to be left installed for the county inspector to visit the house and verify that the system was holding pressure. While there the Guin Service serviceman also inspected several faucets in the house that we had some questions on and he explained that the initial leaking that we saw was from the seals being dry and once water pressure was put on them the seals expanded and sealed the lines again. He also advised against replacing a DELTA faucet with a cheaper one that we had because the quality of the faucet was inferior. While he could have made more money by switching the faucet, he earned a repeat customer by giving us sound advice.

The tech, Jay Guin did a great job. It is nice when a tech comes to your house when they say they will be there. He also did not try to sell me anything!!!

They have great reviews from this site and I have to add mine as well. They called when they where on the way. I had two problems and was expecting to spend $500+ but instead of replacing the items he just fixed them. Total cost $165 -- ie he wasn't there to rip me off. I breathed a sigh of relief. I don't remember the guys name but was very nice and did a great job.

Overall they have always done what they said they would do, come when they said they would, and charged us fairly.

Had these folks come out for HVAC check and to fix some plumbing. They did a great job. Had 2 separate people come out. One for HVAC and one for Plumbing. No complaints on either. Both were very knowledgeable. The HVAC guy explained how our Heat Pump system worked. The plumber fixed a leaking faucet and 2 toilets. Also, installed a shower head.

Plumber was very good and professional. Had to have them come back for an issue that I thought was their fault but discovered that it wasn't. They still made the repair with not issues. Would definitely use them againg. Highly recommend.

The service was excellant and profession..ALL of our toilets began to leak at the same time. Also a strange whisling noise occured at the same time..The Guin people knew exactly what the problem was..had to do with back pressure etc..we were in a hurry due to putting house on the market...they came right out and took care of the problem..I would recommend them...

Took them less than 10 minutes~ The servicemen were efficient, polite, punctual and made no mess.

I have used Guin in the past to install a gas line to our stove and was impressed with their work, professionalism, and competence. I knew exactly who to call when our hot water heater started gushing water and a few weeks later when we discovered the pipe removing water from the washing machine under the house was disconnected. Dewane and Wes were the guys who came out both incidences. For the hot water heater, they came out same day and replaced it so we had hot water in our house in a matter of hours. I am very impressed with this company and the quality of work. What really stands out is the quality of their employees. I can not speak enough about how great and reliable Dewane and Wes are. I will continue to use them for any plumbing issue I have and recommend them to friends and acquaintances seeking reliable work.

Guin Service were terrific. We've had several different companies come and I think we prefer them. They do a good job. They explained what they've done. We've had good results and we never had any on-going problems with our units which we have it done twice a year. We are very satisfied with their work. Their pricing is competitive with everybody else. We plan to use them again.

Trying to replace a bathroom sink on our own. The pipes kept on leaking. Called the plumber. He was awesome and fixed it for us QUICK! He also explained where we went wrong. Not enough plumbers tape.

Discovered sewage pump was backing up in basement. Called Guin between 7 and 8 am the next morning. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and told me that we would probably hear from a plumber before noon that day. Not having heard from anyone after 12 pm, I called Guin and was told that I should hear from someone in the next hour or two. I was told by both gentlemen that I would get a call from the plumber at least 20 minutes in advance. Sometime after 1 pm I was called by DeWayne who said that he would be there in 30 minutes or so, which proved to be true. DeWayne's apprentice, Weston, came to the door and I directed he and DeWayne to the basement location of the sewage pump. After describing the problem, DeWayne said he would first check for the "float" being stuck and then check the pump itself. The pump proved to be bad and DeWayne said that he would go pick up a replacement and finish the job when he and Weston returned. I asked how much the pump would be and after joking a little about the price, I was never given an answer. The two returned within an hour and finished the job not long there after. Throughout the process both DeWayne and Weston were very polite and friendly. After completing the job, DeWayne took the time to explain the repair and adjustments he made to the pump and associated adjustments. The area was as clean after their work as when they arrived. (I had done a thorough job of cleaning the area after the initial pump backup incident). My wife wanted DeWayne to look at our kitchen sink faucet to see if it was working properly. DeWayne did so and explained in easy to understand terms that indeed it was working properly. The bill I was given was a total price for the work. It was not broken down by labor or parts. I was given the name of the pump and was told that it was a "top of the line" residential pump (Zoeller) with a 3 year warranty. I asked if I needed the manual for warranty purposes and he said I didn't need the documentation as their supplier would know the warranty period. He also said that I had "$650" in the pump, though this wasn't documented. We had some work done by Guin last year and the bill was given in the same manner, a total price not broken down by parts and labor. I was very satisfied with their work and how they interacted with both my wife and me. My gut tells me the price we paid was a little high, but it was worth the price for a job well done. There is also value in that the job was completed the same day I called.

Great experience. He was very personable and professional. I give them a B on price, but it seems to be standard for the industry. I always get the sticker shock for $155 bill for about an hour labor (plus driving time).

Not only was the job performed efficiently, they took time to explain the root of the problem and how to avoid another occurrence.

As a first time home buyer it is daunting getting work done because. I received estimates from three different companies to install a gas line to our stove. This was something we wanted to get right and were not sure how to go about it. Our need was simple, or so I thought. We hoped to have the gas line come up from the floor but it turned out that the area was once a porch so the floor was really a concrete slab so this created some difficulty. When Guin came out and gave the estimate I could tell right away I was talking to critical thinkers and made the decision easy for us. They were able to simplify things by connecting the gas line directly to the meter. This eliminated the need to expand the already existing line to accommodate the large gas intake to the house. Although the estimate was slightly more expensive, we chose Guin because it is of my opinion that they were more competent and knowledgeable. It was easy to set up a time to get the work done and any questions I had were addressed quickly. Mr. Guin arrived on time for the job and was extremely thoughtful. I had a two month old and a dog in the house and he was kind to work around us. The work itself proved to be more difficult, dealing with the concrete floor, than originally thought but the job was done very well. I very much appreciate the service done for us. A little critical thinking and concideration go a very long way in my book. I have recommended Guin to my friends and family and will come to them next time with any gas/plumbing needs.

Very prompt and courteous. Solved drainage problem quickly at a very fair price.

Our washing machine was spewing water everywhere and Guin came out and diagnosed the problem as a stopped up draining pipe. They cleaned the pipe out and refitted it to better drain our washer. We have had no problems since then.

Jay Guin came out & oversaw the process. He did a good job. They all were very courteous & nice & cleaned up after themselves. They also installed a new gas heater in the basement. Joseph, the grandson of Mr. Guin, left this morning because he came by just to make sure I was happy & everything was in working order. I thought that was very nice. I've been using them for several years now.

The rep who gave the estimate, friendly, knowledgeable. The price was right at the quoted amount. The work was completed as quoted and it was all done in the same day that I got the quote. I was very happy with it.
