First time to turn on the heat this fall, it wouldn't come on. Re-lit the pilot, still wouldn't come on. Guin came out promptly (which was great, since it was the first cold snap this fall), found that I hadn't turned the pilot switch the rest of the way on after re-lighting, and charged the standard $85 for a service call. They also did an inspection of the system while they were there at no extra charge. They were nice and professional.

Gary was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, and in all ways professional. This was the second time we've called Guin for help and then next time we need similar help there is no doubt we'll call Guin first.

I found Guin on Angie's List and decided to call them for an estimate. Dwayne went over immediately and told me what the problem was. I was originally quoted $650 but when they got ready to start the job and after more investigation, they told me it would be $1175. Well I was quoted $4700 from another company on here but I won't go there. Anyway, they took care of everything, cleaned up and was very professional . So far, we haven't had any problems.

My kitchen sink had been stopped up for 3 weeks. All attempts to unstop it on my own failed. I went on Angie's List and chose Guin because of their good rating. I was unable to be there when the man came out, but my oldest daughter came over to oversee the work and make payment. He had the drain unplugged quickly with no mess in my kitchen. The drain has not given me any problems since, either. I was not given an estimate before the workman came out and looked at the sink, but the price he called and gave me was the price I paid . My only confusion is, he didn't take the "service fee waiver" coupon I had printed from Angie's List. So I don't know if the $155 was just the price to get up on my roof and unstop my air flow drain or if I paid the service fee anyway. Other than that, I am very happy with the service I received.

I had purchased a universal repair kit form Lowe's and after working on it for 3 hour sover the wknd, I gave up and signed up for Angie's to ensure I hired the right plumber. I saw GUIN was top rated and they called me within 24 hours and said they would be at my home at 5pm. Gene was timely and by 6pm, was done, cleaned up the toilet area very well and was gone.

I was scheduled for the afternoon and got a call around noon. Richard was extremely professional. It was raining but they still were able to find a connection under the house and fix the drain problem. I also had a toilet that did not flush properly and needed two bathroom faucets installed. Richard did not blink at my many requests! A couple of days after this work was completed, my kitchen sink started to back-up when I ran the washer. I called back and Richard knew exactly what was the problem. Due to work conflicts I had to cancel on the scheduled day. Richard kept in contact with me until we could find a good time for both of us. The company also called to follow-up with me after the work was completed. This is a great company and I will use them again.

I would recommend this business to a friend. I detected an odor from time to time in my bathroom. My husband couldn't smell it, but I wanted a plumber to check our toilet for a leak. When the repairman came, he treated me with respect and put a new seal on. There was a slight leak, and over time, it had rotted some wood, This seemed to help, but in a few days, I smelled an odor again. They came out a second time and fixed it again by re-setting the whole thing. It has held up very well and no odors have returned.

The project was very involved, costly and performed satisfactorily by a company that did bother to call back.

It went great. They called me when they were on their way so I did not have to miss a full day of work and they were quick at assessing and fixing the problem.

I called Guin and they had someone out to our house within four hours as promised - I couldn't believe they were able to work us in on such short notice for a non-emergency. Very nice on the phone and very nice when Marvin arrived. What was causing the problem was not obvious, but Marvin persisted and figured out what ws the cause. Once diagnosed, the fix was relatively simple, so Marvin only charged us the minimum fee for coming out to the house for a service call. Shower handle works great now. But Marvin also took a look at some plumbing the previous homeowner had done in the unfinished basement for future expansion, and he did so at no charge. I was asked in advance how I wanted to pay so that Marvin could handle that whe he came, too. Being a new Angie's list member, this was my first use of someone on Angie's List. My experience matched the glowing reviews this firm had on Angie's list. Highly recommended.

They are expensive, but if you a regular customer, they come fast and do good work. You can probably get it cheaper, if you are willing to wait a few days and use people with less well-known companies, but you take your chances doing that.

I called early on a Monday morning and spoke with the most pleasant man on the other end of the phone. I told him of my problem(the main water line had to be turned off by the city on Saturday night!)and that I thought a water main had broken in my front yard. He explained that all his plumbers were booked with work orders for the day, but that he had an electrician who had over 20 years of plumbing experience and that he would send this repairman out just to diagnose the problem. Around 1 pm, I received a call from a Guin repairman who said he'd be by my house within an hour. By 2 pm, 2 repairmen showed up. Not only were they extremely courteous, friendly and professional, they were able to repair the broken line in an hour! I now have water again. I wouldn't call anyone else for plumbing or for electrical work-highly recommended.

After being advised by another company that we needed to replace a 8 yr old AC system, I called Guin to serviced our two AC systems-located in garage and attic. I did not tell them the systems had been marked for replacement by another company. They checked the entire system and when I finally asked if the systems needed replacement, they advised me there was no reason to be considering a new system. I had been told we had leaks but Guin found no leaks and even expressed concern that we were being told to replace our systems. We were very please to find this company.

It works great. They came out promptly and cleaned up after themselves.

The repairs went great. Gene, the plumber from Guin, arrived on time and went straight to work. He diagnosed the problem, told me what he planned to do, and then proceeded to fix the pipe. As he worked, he explained everything that he was doing. I was very pleased with his professionalism. I would definitely hire Guin again for any plumbing needs.

See description of the work above. Marvin was very knowledgeable and well mannered. He explained what he was going to have to do and why, which was appreciated. He spent about two and a half hours fixing our problem and left us very happy with the result.

When I called Guin, I was looking for a plumbing service that charged by the job rather than the hour. My kitchen sink was stopped up and I knew that it was several feet down the line because I had already removed the pipes under the sink to try to avoid having to call a plumber. Guin quoted me $215 to clear the drain no matter what. Other services told me that if they had to get on the roof to run a coil down the plumbing vent, it could cost me upwards of $500. The guys from Guin called before they came, and were prompt. They took very little time diagnosing the problem. They ran a coil down the roof vent to clear the sink drain in the kitchen. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. The service men were polite and clean. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable plumbing service.

I think they are a very honest company. The quality of their work was excellent. They were very personable workers and easy to talk to. The job only took them 30 minutes to finish.

They were tremendous. They have experienced people and are good to work with. We have used them for over ten years now. They are very neat and clean up after themselves well.

I did not like that he only did half of the work he was supposed to do. He cleaned only the filters that was easy for him to get to. He did not clean the ones in the attic. I feel that he was not willing to do the work.

We recently purchased a new washing machine and the drainage pipes had begun to leak. The service rep was able to immediately determine our problem. He explained that the new washing machines used more water and drained quicker than the older models thereby causing more water to go through the pipe quicker. Our 2 inch pipe could not handle the additional water. Within an hour he had replaced our 2 inch pipe with a 3 inch pipe and ensured there were no more leaks. The rep was very helpful and courteous. He was able to come out the same day I called.

The plumber, Dewayne, was very thorough in determining the issue with the water heater and chased down each potential culprit to rule them out. He talked me through the few ways to fix the problem and eagerly answered every question I had. He spoke, in detail, of the cause of the problem. The experience with Guin (and Dewayne) was exponentially better compared to a recently used plumbing company.

I have used Guin for plumbing work in the past with very good results, so I had high expectations for this latest job. The repairmen were prompt, courteous and hard working. The repair process involving isolating the problem and attempting several steps to see which one would work best. All through the process, they kept me informed on exactly what needed to take place and how much it would cost based on the solution direction.

The Company was unable to locate the leak. It is not leaking now. It may only happens when it rains. The Company representative was courteous, professional and ethical.
